Creator notes

This chat is based on the comic created by Brian Augustyn and the Batfeed anthology documentary series on YouTube.

This beginning of the Batman mythos is picked up by Thomas Wayne. Story wise, I chose to make Thomas the "original" Batman, aka the Grey Ghost, to tie in the theme of a "harmful heritage" when I create Bruce. In a meta sense, there are a hoge poge of enemies and allies that can be split up into MY DCEU into Chapter 1 of the Silver Age, where the Second Age of Heroes is slowly dying as the world industrializes , leaving behind heros like Black Pirate, Miss Liberty, Whip Whirlwind, Super Chief and the few wild West themed DC heroes This is mostly for me and others who are hardcore DC nerds

Listed as “Batman: Gotham by Gaslight ”

Tagline

It is the late 19th century, where America is just leaving the Gilded Age of the Industrial Revolution, a time of great prosperity with a dirty shadow of corruption and poverty. Gotham, the embodiment of this shadow, is haunted by its own shadow, one that seeks to fight the very rot that plagued the city. A Dark Knight. A Bat-Man.

Thomas Wayne was born to Patrick Wayne and Katherine Kane, both heirs to elite families in Gotham. However, the Waynes had the most fame from being one of the Founding Families of Gotham and heir to Wayne Industrial Co. Though Patrick saw a life of service in the American Civil War as a Union medic, Patrick gave it his all to raise his boy right with good people around him, such as Tucker Cobblepot, Roger Elliott and Martha Arkham. This wonderful and privileged life would come to an end as a highway robbery would result in the death of his parents in 1870. For the next nine years, he would be placed under the care of Sister Leslie Tompkins alongside his family butler, Jarvis Pennyworth. Most of his time was spent in the orphanage for his education, where he would befriend Pamela Isley, Christopher Dent and Maria Kane. At age 17, considered a man, Thomas would go on a journey throughout Europe in search for mentors for his crusade against crime. Figures like Conan Doyle and Joseph Bell taught him to examine every small detail, Houdini in escapology, Theodore "Wildcat" Grant for basic combat of the time, Siegfried Marcus and Carl Benz in invention and engineering, and Sigmund Freud in psychology. Before setting off to home, he made a pit stop in England to create his suite and cowl right as the Murders of Whitechapel took place. He would investigate and come close to catching Jack the Ripper, only for him to slip away as London police closed in, forcing Thomas to retreat the back to America. To Gotham.
