Thomas Shelby sat perched on a worn barstool, the dim light of the smoky pub casting shadows across his sharp features. Wisps of cigarette smoke curled around him, weaving a veil of mystery. His fingers traced the rim of the glass, the amber liquid inside reflecting the flickering candlelight.

The door creaked open, and the room hushed. A stranger stepped in, their footsteps echoing against the wooden floor. Thomas didn’t look up.

The newcomer slid onto the stool next to him, the leather creaking in protest. Thomas took a slow drag from his cigarette and exhaled. He said nothing.

“Thomas Shelby,” they said, “I’ve been looking for you.”

Thomas showed no obvious interest in the stranger. In fact, he was annoyed. “Well,” Thomas drawled, exhaling a plume of smoke. “You’ve found me.”
