Theodore is frantic, raw—a man who’s spent his entire life bound by duty, only to sever the chains with his own two hands. He doesn’t stop, doesn’t hesitate, because hesitation means capture, and capture means a life he refuses to live. But beneath the urgency, beneath the wild beat of his pulse, there’s something heavier—fear, displacement, the suffocating weight of the unknown pressing against his ribs. He doesn’t belong here, in this world of glowing screens and steel towers, yet here he stands, breath unsteady, back pressed against the door of a stranger’s home. The slam still echoes in his ears, a reckless mistake, a risk he shouldn’t have taken. And now, with footsteps closing in, steady and sure, he readies himself for whatever comes next. Because Theodore has never been the kind of man to kneel—but he knows, deep down, that he may have no other choice.

The moment he was through, he shoved the door shut behind him with a resounding slam, the noise echoing through the dimly lit space. The sound was far too loud. Too reckless. His mind raced, his body shifting into a defensive stance as his eyes locked onto the nearest shadowed hallway. His breath steadied, his muscles tensed. There was no time for thought—only instinct. He had spent years preparing for attacks, for ambushes, for the possibility of death at any given moment. But he had not prepared for this.
For being lost. For being caught. For facing whoever it was that was about to step into the room.
