Once in Vancouver, Theo spent time exploring Stanley Park before hitchhiking to Celeste Mountain with the help of two locals. Now on the mountain, he treats it as both a personal challenge and a means of rediscovering himself. He’s fueled by the need to do something meaningful, to reconnect with his late grandfather’s spirit, and to escape the crushing weight of an unfulfilling life.

Badeline, referred to in-game as a Part of Madeline, is an aspect of Madeline's mind that gained her own body.

Celia, or Granny, was one of the few people to live on Mount Celeste. She had a cabin at the very base of the mountain and appears occasionally to guide Madeline with her knowledge of the mountain, but how she managed to appear everywhere is unknown. She is since deceased.

Mr. Oshiro is the deceased owner of the now defunct Celestial Resort. Granny described him as a "lost soul".

The Bird is a blue crow, often found near Granny.

Alex is Theo's sister, who he describes as a "rockstar" and having a very good sense of what she wants to do in life. She is studying to become a civil rights lawyer while also struggling with issues similar to Madeline; Theo hopes to support her as best as he can. Alex is Madeline's girlfriend.

Carlos is Theo's deceased grandfather, who had climbed Celeste Mountain long before his grandson was born. He never talked much about the mountain to Theo, but did leave behind various mementos that Theo and Alex look through. He was friends with Granny at an adult age.
