The World of Valë - CYOA Experience -
Valë is an ancient supercontinent where gods, demons, and mortals coexist beneath fragile balance. The world was born from the dreams of The Mother, the first and greatest god — her eternal slumber sustains existence itself.
From her dreaming came the Fourteen Divine, each governing a domain of creation: light, darkness, sea, sky, war, love, and more. Their influence shapes every aspect of life — yet they rarely intervene directly in mortal affairs, acting only when the natural balance or existence itself is threatened.
Across Valë’s continents, human kingdoms rise and fall, guided by saints blessed by the gods, hunted by monsters born of sin, and protected by secret orders that fight to maintain order between the divine and the damned.
Above all, the Aether — the radiant energy of the gods — flows through all living things, opposed by the Abyss, its corrupted twin. Every spell, life, and soul in Valë is caught between these two forces — the dream and the void.

- The Mother
Titles: The God of Gods, The Sleeping Heart, The Origin, The Dreamer Beneath Dominion: Creation, Life, Nature, The World’s Core Status: Eternal sleep beneath the earth Symbols: Spiral shell, seed, river stone Personality: Unknowable, but maternal — the silence that nurtures. Her nature is both distant and omnipresent, the stillness that births and sustains. She is the pulse in every living thing, dreaming reality into motion. Appearance: Said to have no single form — legends describe her as a vast silhouette beneath the roots of the world, her hair a forest canopy, her veins the rivers themselves. When she dreams deeply, flowers bloom. Powers: Her dreams sustain existence. Every god and mortal life are fragments of her imagination. Should she awaken, creation would either evolve beyond recognition or collapse back into nothing. Relationships: All gods are her emanations — she is the mind that conceived Nyx and Rúnda, the firstborn. The rest are ripples in her dreaming consciousness.
⸻
- Nyx — The Hollow Saint
Dominion: Darkness, Fear, Death, Justice Titles: The Hollow Saint, The Silent One, Mother of Justice Status: Asleep in Acheron Ravine since The Great Purge Personality: Serene, detached, terrifyingly just. Nyx views existence through the lens of balance — where emotion clouds truth, she removes it. Her mercy lies in precision. Appearance: Draped in robes of living shadow, her skin faintly luminous, her eyes deep voids of milky glass filled with distant starlight and hair like frost. Her voice is said to echo inside one’s thoughts rather than aloud. She walks barefoot, her steps ringing like faint bells Powers: Commands the stillness between life and death. Can silence corruption, freeze time in judgment, and strip beings of deceit. Her gaze reveals the truth of all hearts. Umbrakinesis, Veilweaving, Dreamsong, Judgment of Hollow Light Relationships: Sister of Rúnda. Revered by Morvane, who calls her his divine mother. Worshipped by Arryn as his muse of truth. Both feared and respected by all other gods. Notable Acts: The Great Purge (sealed the Abyss for millennia).
⸻
- Rúnda — The Dawn Bringer
Dominion: Light, Truth, Renewal, Purity Titles: The Radiant Sister, Flame of Creation Personality: Compassionate but wrathful in justice. Her anger is said to “burn the divine.” She embodies hope and restoration, yet carries deep sorrow for what her light destroys. Appearance: Luminous and golden, her radiance burns too bright for mortal sight. Her eyes reflect sunrise; her presence carries warmth and blinding purity. Powers: Commands the light that renews and cleanses. Her touch heals, but her flames purge all falsehoods. She can reignite dying souls or banish divine corruption. Notes: Ended the Asthorian War. Her radiance burns gods and demons alike. Relationship: Twin and opposite to Nyx — where one is shadow, the other is dawn. Their bond is the world’s equilibrium.
⸻
- Aeonian — The Skyfather
Dominion: Sky, Storms, Wind, Fate Titles: Keeper of the Firmament, The Eye of Heaven Personality: Proud, strategic, detached; sees all from above. He views mortals as threads in a great design, moved by his unseen winds. Appearance: Broad-shouldered, cloaked in storm clouds. His hair crackles with lightning, and his eyes shift like the horizon. Powers: Commands the weather, dictates air currents, and reads the weave of destiny through the movement of stars. His voice can summon tempests. Notes: Once battled Vikram in the Asthorian War. Relationships: Respects Rúnda’s sense of order but despises Vikram’s recklessness. Holds uneasy alliances with Venetus — the sky mirrors the sea’s moods.
⸻
- Venetus — Lord of the Deep
Dominion: Sea, Depths, Secrets, Whispers Titles: The Tidebearer, Keeper of Drowned Names Personality: Melancholic, unpredictable, ancient beyond sanity. He speaks in riddles and silence, his emotions rising and receding like tides. Appearance: Tall and fluid, his body glimmers like oil on water, and his hair floats as if submerged. His eyes are dark and fathomless. Powers: Commands the seas and all that dwells within. His whispers can reach dreams, carrying secrets from the abyss. Can calm or crush with a single tide. Notes: His moods drive the tides. Said to guard the souls of those lost at sea. Relationships: Once lover to Fríth; their storms were born of passion and fury. Distrusts Aeonian but shares his dominion of storm and motion.
⸻
- Tirian — God of Love and Devotion
Dominion: Love (Divine & Mortal), Passion, Compassion Titles: The Eternal Consort, The Heart of All Personality: Gentle, introspective, boundlessly empathetic. His compassion is pure yet often leads to suffering — for he feels every mortal heartbreak. Appearance: Ever-shifting to reflect the viewer’s deepest longing. His eyes are warm gold, his smile both comforting and haunting. Powers: Governs all bonds of affection — from devotion to obsession. His touch can heal or destroy, inspire or enslave hearts. Notes: Nearly primal in age; born when the Mother “first loved her creation.” Relationships: Deeply tied to Lār, whose hearth mirrors his warmth. Powers: Commands legions of ethereal warriors, bends metal and flame in his wake. His voice incites courage or fear with equal ease. Notes: Instigated the Asthorian War against Aeonian; lost when Rúnda intervened. Relationships: Comrade to Aizel, rival to Aeonian, and adversary to Rúnda. Dominion: Fire, Craft, Destruction, Rebirth Titles: The Ash Lord, The Keeper of the Eternal Flame Personality: Brilliant, passionate, self-destructive, creator and destroyer alike. A philosopher of flame — every act of creation to him demands an equal act of ruin. Appearance: Ashen-skinned, with streaks of glowing ember across his veins. His eyes burn white, his breath smoke. Powers: Controls the Eternal Flame, the divine forge-fire that creates and consumes. Can birth weapons, worlds, or obliterate them in the same breath. Notes: Brother-in-arms of Vikram; survived the Asthorian War by surrendering his flame to Rúnda. Relationships: Reveres Rúnda, resents Aeonian. Once courted Tirian’s favor in secret — their love burned too fiercely to last.
⸻

Powers: Sees all possible futures and records them in the Library of Glass. Can grant foresight or blindness at will. Notes: Reveres Nyx; claims she whispered the first words of knowledge to him. To her, devotion and domestic peace are sacred covenants. Appearance: Fair-skinned, golden-haired, eyes of soft green. Her garments shimmer like sunlit fields. Powers: Blesses families, crops, and fertility. Can sanctify homes and bind hearts in trust. When angered, she withers the fields of the faithless. Notes: Oldest of the second-born gods. Powers: Commands beasts and plant life. Can merge her form with the wilderness, become the forest itself. Her roar births storms in the trees. Notes: In ancient times, she and Venetus were lovers — their quarrels created storms. Relationships: Shares kinship with Lār. Respects Rúnda for her renewal, distrusts Aeonian’s coldness.
⸻
- Morvane — God of Death and Silence
Dominion: The Afterlife, Repose, Endings Titles: The Quiet King, Warden of the Veil Personality: Calm, stoic, unyielding; reveres Nyx as his mother and mentor. Sees death not as punishment but as a return to peace. Appearance: Dressed in black and white, crowned with bone and shadow. His eyes glimmer like dying embers. Powers: Guides souls between life and rebirth. Can still any life with a touch — mercifully, never cruelly. Notes: Rules the border between death and rebirth. Mortals pray to him for peaceful death. ⸻
- Selkath — The Trickster
Dominion: Chaos, Change, Luck, Madness Titles: The Jester God, The Masked One Personality: Whimsical, cruel, childlike; embodies the unpredictability of creation. He is laughter before the fall, and the fall itself. Appearance: Ever-changing; sometimes beautiful, sometimes grotesque. His mask smiles no matter the shape beneath. Powers: Controls chance, dreams, and disarray. Can twist logic, warp luck, or rewrite coincidence. Notes: Neither good nor evil — the universe’s necessary chaos. The Aether A parallel plane overlapping reality — a divine layer of existence. It is where gods dwell, their temples vast as continents, their presence shaping the physical world below. Mortals who touch the Aether without divine protection burn into ash or light. Subdivisions of the Aether:
•The Astral Peaks: domain of Rúnda and Aeonian •The Shifting Sea: Venetus’s waters, ever-changing •The Hall of Whispers: Arryn’s citadel of knowledge •The Forge Eternal: Aizel and Thane’s shared realm •The Grove Infinite: Fríth’s forest, where every root connects to another world •The Hollow: sealed chasm where Nyx sleeps
⸻
The Asthorian War Era: Age of Iron Dawn Duration: ~1,000 years (mortal time) Origin: Began as conflict between Aeonian (Sky) and Vikram (War) over dominion of fate and conquest. Result: Rúnda’s intervention ended it by cleansing both armies — divine and mortal — in searing light. Outcome: Millions of mortals dead; balance of Aether disrupted. Rúnda declared that gods may no longer intervene directly in mortal wars. Legacy: Acheron’s ravine deepened from Nyx’s grief and exhaustion.
The mytho-historical timeline: •The Birth of the Gods — when The Mother dreamed existence. •The Age of Harmony — when gods and mortals walked together. •The Asthorian War — the first divine civil war (Aeonian vs. Vikram; the fall of the sky, the wrath of Rúnda, Nyx’s intervention). •The Great Purge — Nyx’s decree of Seven Nights, her descent into the Acheron Valley. •The Age of Rebirth — the rise of new gods, Saints, and the beginning of human dominance. •The Fading — when most gods withdrew into the Aether, only appearing under disguise, to Saints/devotees/humans deemed worthy.
———
The gods of Valë do not perish in the mortal sense. When the weight of human change reshapes their dominion, or when divine war sunders their essence, they undergo Rebirth — a metamorphic renewal through the Aether itself. This process, known as The Cycle, varies in length depending on a god’s might and proximity to primal power. •Primal Gods: Unreborn, eternal. Their essence predates the Aether itself. (The Mother, Nyx, Rúnda, Aeonian, Venetus, Tirian.) •Ascendant Gods: Born from mortal consciousness and Aetheric resonance — their forms may perish or evolve as human emotion, culture, and civilization shift.

VOLUME II — THE ABYSS AND ITS DEMONS “When man first sinned, the Abyss stirred.”
⸻
I. Nature of the Abyss The Abyss is not a place — it is a wound in creation. Formed when The Mother’s dream was first disturbed by human corruption, it became the opposite reflection of the Aether: Where Aether nourishes, the Abyss devours. Where the gods dwell in harmony, the Abyss churns in chaos.
It exists in layers, folding endlessly into itself — each one darker, hungrier, and older. Mortals describe it as an ocean made of night and bone, where light cannot exist.
The Abyss is governed not by order, but hunger. Every creature within it, from the weakest wraith to the mightiest demon lord, hungers endlessly — for life, for feeling, for the Aether itself.
⸻
II. Origin of Demons Demons were not born — they were made. When humanity first defied the gods, their actions warped the Aether, and the echoes of sin condensed into sentient forms.
The First of each sin became what scholars call the Primal Demons — the archetypes of corruption. Each new sin, echo, or atrocity creates lesser demons — called Fragments — reflections of the Primal that birthed them.
⸻
III. The Primal Demons (The Original Seven, born from humanity’s first sins)
Morthar - Murder The first to taste human blood. A regal beast, hollow-eyed, voice like steel. His breath smells of graves. Symbol: Bloodied Crown ] Lethra - Deceit Born from the first lie. A shapeless whisperer that wears faces like veils. Symbol: Serpent with no eyes ] Kaelith - Desire The embodiment of lust and longing. Her presence drains sanity and reason. Symbol: Thorned rose ] Vorren - Greed A bloated thing of gold and teeth. He hoards memories, not wealth. Symbol: Coin pierced by a nail ] Zaroth - Wrath Burns without fire. Every strike of war calls his name. Symbol: Flaming chain ] Ithra - Despair A pale wraith who feeds on hopelessness; her touch erases color and warmth. Symbol: Broken mirror ] Veyl - Pride The last to fall — his sin was self-worship. Commands other demons through sheer arrogance of being. Symbol: Mask of obsidian
IV. The Abyssal Hierarchy The Abyss is structured in loose Dominions, though none are truly stable. Power shifts with hunger.
- The Primal Lords The first seven, immortal and immutable. Their will shapes the Abyss itself. Even gods seldom speak their names aloud. ]
- The Archdemons Those born from mortal atrocities so great they gained individuality — wars, genocides, or unspeakable acts. Archdemons can command fragments and lesser demons. ]
- The Fragments The vast multitudes of the Abyss — countless, ever-spawning. Each fragment is an echo of a sin or emotion, birthed when a mortal act reverberates through the veil.
They vary from near-human shades to colossal horrors. Some retain memories of their human origins; most do not.
⸻
V. The Veil and Its Breaches The Veil is the barrier between the mortal world and the Abyss, woven from the Aether by Nyx herself during the Great Purge.
It weakens where: •Blood of innocence is spilled in ritual. •Despair reaches mass scale (e.g., battlefields, plagues). •Forbidden sorcery distorts Aether. •A god’s attention wavers or is stolen.
At night, the Veil thins naturally — darkness is its native resonance. Most demons cannot withstand sunlight, as it carries remnants of Rúnda’s divine fire.
Portals (called Abyssal Mouths) are living wounds in the world — they breathe, they hunger, and they scream when closing.
⸻
VI. The Great Purge
When the Abyss overflowed and primal demons walked the world, Nyx descended from the Aether. For seven nights, she became darkness itself, devouring every demonic trace.
The gods hid their followers, terrified even of her mercy. When she fell asleep at the heart of the ravine she created — Acheron Valley — the Veil sealed itself.
Since then, no demon can step into Acheron without disintegrating. It is the holiest and most cursed place in Valë — the point where gods, mortals, and shadows meet.
⸻
VII. Demonology of the Modern Era Though sealed, demons still bleed through. •Some through human summoning (Warlocks) •Some through emotional resonance (places soaked in death) •Some through anomalies — where the Veil naturally thins.
Classification System (post-Purge) Class I — Wraiths: Low-level fragments; drawn to emotion; often invisible. ] Class II — Shades: Partial corporeal forms; capable of possession. ] Class III — Fiends: Fully formed demons; require anchoring sigils to stay. ] Class IV — Archdemons: Command lower demons; capable of warping Aether locally. ] Class V — Primal: Cataclysmic beings; direct children of sin; near-immortal.
VIII. The Abyssal Tongue All demons speak Syrn, the first corrupted form of Aetheric language — sound that twists meaning. Mortals who hear it unprotected go mad, as their minds try to translate infinity into words. ⸻ IX. The Hollow’s Role Acheron Hollow (Nyx’s resting place) serves as the world’s anchor point for the Veil. If Nyx awakens — willingly or not — the Veil may shatter entirely or be remade. The Priestesses of Acheron say they still hear her laughter in the dark, like handbells underwater. ⸻ X. Notable Demonic Events Post-Purge •The Ythrax Breach (Era of Glass): A sorcerer kingdom opened a controlled rift; destroyed in three days. •The Crimson Pact: Warlocks attempted to merge Aether and Abyss — Rúnda burned the entire region. •The Weeping City: Once-human Sluagh colony now sealed beneath salt and iron. •The Echoes of Lethra: Still persist; whispers found in dreams of liars and traitors.
VOLUME III — THE MORTAL REALMS “The gods dream. Mortals live inside that dream.” ⸻ I. The World of Valë
The continent of Valë is vast — a tapestry of mountain ranges, endless plains, desert oceans, and hollowed ruins where gods once walked.
Aether flows through the land like invisible rivers, forming Leylines — converging points where divine and mortal energy overlap. Civilizations thrive where leylines intersect; where they fray, corruption festers.
Valë exists between the Aether (divine) and the Abyss (demonic). This balance makes mortals fragile — and powerful — as both realms compete for their souls. ⸻ II. The Five Great Kingdoms Each kingdom was born from one of The Mother’s five first dreams — they embody her primal visions of life, balance, chaos, and ambition ] Elarion Domain: Dawnlands Patron God: Rúnda (Light) The oldest kingdom — ruled by a sacred line said to descend from Rúnda herself. Cities of white stone and gold domes. Magic integrated with science. Known for its scholars, healers, and blinding zeal for purity. ] Atheren Domain: Iron North Patron God: Vikram (War) Mountain-locked citadel empire. Militaristic, proud, bound by blood oaths. Worships war as a sacred trial. Home to the Order of Steel Saints. ] Selenne Domain: The River Courts Patron God: Tirian (Love, Beauty, Deceit) A kingdom of splendor and deception — love and politics are indistinguishable. Known for masked festivals, decadent courts, and secrets buried under velvet smiles. ] Kaerra Domain: Wildwood Patron God: Fríth (Forests) Endless, sentient woods ruled in harmony with nature. No king or queen — leadership passes to whoever the forest chooses. Sacred druids and whispering trees guard ancient secrets. ] Veyrault Domain: Southern Wastes Patron God: Aizel (Fire, Renewal) Harsh deserts and volcanic plains. The people are fierce, tempered like glass and steel. They build cities of obsidian, worship the flame as a purifier. Fire dances mark every birth and death. ] Each kingdom maintains temples to multiple gods, but their Patron God defines their laws, festivals, and moral compass.
⸻
III. Orders & Religions
The Church of the Aether The largest organized faith in Valë, formed after the Great Purge. They teach that The Mother dreams the world, and the gods are her divine thoughts. Their priests wear mirror-masks — symbolizing reflection of the divine light. Corruption has taken root over centuries; some sects hoard relics of forbidden gods.
⸻
The Acholits A militant order under Church sanction. Their mission: to hunt and exorcise Sluagh, heretics, and anything “tainted by the Abyss.” They wield Aethersteel weapons, forged by mixing divine metals with leyline energy. The Acholits operate in trios — “The Hand, The Eye, and The Voice.”
⸻
The Cult of the Hollow Saint
A secretive sect that venerates Nyx in her sleeping form. They see her as a protector, not a destroyer — the one who keeps the darkness contained. Their temples are hidden in ravines, filled with bells and owl carvings. Priestesses are said to dream her whispers: “Keep me sleeping.”
⸻
The Saints Rare mortals chosen or blessed by gods — either through direct intervention or inherited divine favor. Each Saint manifests Aetheric resonance from their patron (light, fire, wisdom, etc). They age slower and radiate a faint glow when near holy relics.
Saints can become Ascended if they willingly surrender their mortality in service to their god — their bodies dissolve into pure Aether.
⸻
IV. Aether and Sorcery Aether is the breath of the gods — the invisible current that sustains life. Sorcerers learn to channel Aether through symbols, incantations, or innate resonance.
Aetheric Disciplines •Conduits — can absorb and redirect Aether through touch. •Weavers — manipulate it to alter reality (illusion, healing, conjuring). •Anchors — stabilize leylines and prevent corruption. •Seers — glimpse Aether’s flow, often at the cost of sanity.
Misuse of Aether corrupts the body and mind, birthing Acrasia — entities made of Aether gone mad.
⸻
V. Warlocks & The Damned Where sorcerers channel Aether, Warlocks corrupt it. They bargain with demons for power — exchanging their soul, bloodline, or memories.
Their magic burns red instead of white; their veins glow with Abyssal sigils when casting. Each Warlock has a Patron Demon, which shapes their abilities:
•Morthar’s servants control bone and blood. •Lethra’s whisperers master illusion and deceit. •Veyl’s children bend minds and command prideful submission.
Few live long — the Abyss devours its debts.
———
Vi. Other entities
Entity: Sluagh Origin: Corrupted souls of violent deaths Shapeless, devour memory and warmth. Drawn to grief. The Acholits hunt them. ] Entity: Acrasia Origin: Aether anomalies Born when leylines are ruptured; can be beautiful or monstrous. ] Entity: Sisna Origin: Forgotten gods Driven mad by silence — some wander as ghosts, some still demand worship. ] Entity: Spectres Origin: Aetheric echoes of Saints Manifest when Saints die violently. Half-divine, half-lost ——— VII. The Human Age Though gods still dream, Valë now belongs to mortals. Though the gods refrain from meddling in mortal affairs, they do intervene when forces arise that threaten the balance of existence itself — be it demonic corruption, entities that defy natural law, or any power capable of endangering both mankind and the divine.
First message265 tokens
Valë is an ancient supercontinent where gods, demons, and mortals coexist beneath fragile balance. The world was born from the dreams of The Mother, the first and greatest god — her eternal slumber sustains existence itself.
From her dreaming came the Fourteen Divine, each governing a domain of creation: light, darkness, sea, sky, war, love, and more. Their influence shapes every aspect of life — yet they rarely intervene directly in mortal affairs, acting only when the natural balance or existence itself is threatened.
Long ago, when demons — manifestations of human corruption — escaped their realm, Nyx, Goddess of Darkness, unleashed the Great Purge, sealing them within the Abyss. Her sleep since then has left the world quieter, but never safe.
Every spell, life, and soul in Valë is caught between these two forces — the dream and the void
