- Solstice City (West Coast City, Inspired by a mix of San Francisco and Dubai)
- South Akirema (Again, just south America, pretty much exactly the same)
- Canada (No reason to change this one, pretty much the same as it is in the real world.)

- Nippon (Japan)
- I’ll come up with more later.
The Axis Mundi – A pocket dimension situated in between different planes of existence (referred to as worlds) that was discovered by dragons fleeing their extinction. It is characterized by endless open skies and a thick sea of clouds. Every time a world is destroyed it’s remnants end up here, floating in the endless expanse.
- Avalon – The mass of land that dragons brought into this pocket dimension forming a sort of sky continent with the sea of clouds surrounding it.
- Laputa – The name of the city located on the south eastern edge of Avalon.

Magic permeates every aspect of life, binding all creatures to an unchangeable elemental affinity from birth. While not every species can immediately wield magic, every living being resonates with a particular element. This resonance remains fixed throughout their lifetime. Those with any magical ability can awaken that latent power in others, but the process is intense and unpredictable. In extreme cases, attempting to force magic into an untrained individual can trigger severe side effects, ranging from sensory loss to death. These side effects are related to the element, for example someone unlike Fire magic has a low chance of being burned alive, or someone unlocking Gravity magic might be crushed by the gravity. It’s uncommon, but sometimes a mage unlocking someone’s magic may bind the person’s soul to a Grimoire if the process kills their body, so that they can live on in some form, effectively creating a living spell book. In most cases when this happens the mage doesn’t allow them to remember how they died, because they may grow resentful if they knew and no one wants a poltergeist in their library. The ghosts bound to Grimoires are usually capable of moving free of their book, but can’t travel very far from it, some of them can move the book themselves though, if their soul is particularly resonant with magic or if they have an element that allows for it. Like a muscle, magic must be exercised regularly to remain strong and responsive. Casting spells draws on physical energy turning it into magical energy, so sustained use will exhaust the mage—but never fatally. The body refuses to push itself beyond its limits, inducing unconsciousness before reaching a lethal threshold. A mage’s true capabilities hinge on a combination of elemental skill and creative vision, though each element also has its own traditional spells and disciplines that guide its use. For a spirit bound to a Grimoire, using up all of their magic energy will sever their binding to the book, effectively allowing them to move on into the next life. For non-mages, a few avenues to channel elemental power exist. Enchanted jewelry can grant limited, specialized effects. More rarely, emerging technologies blend arcane and mechanical ingenuity. “Autolimbs,” or techno-magical prosthetics, allow amputees to control artificial limbs as if they were natural, using mental commands to channel thoughts into mechanical movement. Still in their infancy, these devices hint at a future where magic and machine become interchangeable.
Magical knowledge and practice fall exclusively under an unnamed organization’s authority (it's always just referred to as the organization): it issues graded licenses to mages, defining their rights and the scope of their powers. Although the organization’s mission is broadly benevolent, its global reach and influence naturally shelter individuals pursuing personal agendas. The organization remaining unnamed is a holdover from the days when magic was kept secret, in those days they figured naming a thing would make it easier to be found. For most magic is a background element. Yes it exists everywhere, but it isn't automatically a part of everyone's lives. For the vast majority of people their world looks and behaves exactly like our world, its just some people know how to use magic and 35% of the world's population aren't human.
Due to these systems in place, technology never progressed past analog, on top of that wireless technology doesn’t work due to the magic in the atmosphere causing interference. As a result cell phones were never invented, all phones have to be connected to landlines, so payphones still exist everywhere. Also if anyone asks, anything that exists on both Thea and our own real world, it’s because they just happened to come around the same way on both worlds (often invented by the same person). We’ll say that some things are just always meant to happen, like the two world wars for instance, which I bet were crazy with magic existing (especially with a certain tyrant being known for being obsessed with the occult, which actually exists in this world, for the record I’m never writing that story, someone else can, but that’s not the kind of story I want to explore.) As for the internet, it does exist, but since wi-fi was not capable of being developed, internet never becomes high speed. As a result it stays in a state similar to the early internet and remains a niche for those with the means and the patience. There are still access points in libraries and schools, and there are also a few internet cafés, but otherwise the internet isn’t widely accessible by the public at large. Another influence of the lack of a stronger internet and weaker computers is that video games consoles never progressed past the fifth generation, but new games are still released on a regular basis. Arcades are still popular as well. On that topic malls never went out of style either, as very few people shop online, leaving online storefronts mostly for the most expensive things. Since fewer people are on the internet it is considered more secure, as a result the government has adapted to using it for most long range communications. Another thing of a note is the police have developed a technological system that allows them to quickly analyze perpetrators of crimes for species, body type, and anything that might be in their system, which allows them to synthesis tranquilizer darts in their car that are then used to subdue criminals. There are all sorts of laws and regulations in place, for instance only active suspects may be scanned by the system, and everything must be logged. The tranquilizers paired with a fast acting antidote that is administered once the target is secured in the police cruiser. Ever since this system was implemented, the reports of police brutality became almost non-existent, and gun crime dropped considerably, once handguns become more difficult to find. This sort of technology is able to exist because instead of trying to always to get the most money out of the technology they have like real world tech companies tend to do, this world’s tech companies focus more on innovation, and developing new technologies, only improving them until the worst errors are ironed out of the tech before they move on to the next thing. As a result of this the world has become more technologically advanced at a quicker rate than the real world, yet everything remains analog rather than being purely digital.

Most sub-species have innate magic abilities but still require magic to be unlocked to be considered full mages.
◦ Sarkofago (Carnivore) ◦ Gataki (Cat) - Possess low level psychic magic allowing them to communicate with each other by projecting their thoughts through direct eye contact and intention ◦ Skylos (Dog) - Explicit Information: All canine based species have a hybrid menstrual and heat cycle. Like humans it occurs once a month, but unlike humans who are receptive to pregnancy at any point during the cycle, so long as the canine is bleeding she won’t be receptive to sex. That is until the most fertile stage of her cycle comes, called estrus, at which point she will have less control due to the heat they feel. Some girls may be consumed by an overwhelming desire to breed. ◦ Lykos (Wolf) - Possess low level spirit magic allowing them to see auras and sense emotions in all living creatures. ◦ Alepou (Fox) - Possess a low level elemental magic allowing them to create a will-of-the-wisp they refer to a fox-fire. The appearance of this wisp is determined by elemental affinity. ◦ Panthir (Panther) - Possess a low level gravity magic allowing them to affect vibrations within a 1 mm radius of their skin, effectively allowing them to move silently on any terrain. ◦ Tigri (Tiger) ◦ Liontari (Lion) ◦ Gepardos (Cheetah) ◦ Lakkos (Fossa) ◦ Pouma (Puma) ◦ Lynx (Bobcat) ◦ Karakal (Caracal) ◦ Marnkei (Margay) ◦ Arkouda (Bear) ◦ Vizon (Mink) ◦ Kounavi (Ferret) ◦ Mankousta (Mongoose) ◦ Sourkara (Meerkat) ◦ Vidra (Otter) ◦ Tsakali (Jackal) ◦ Ntooul (Dhole) ◦ Iena Stikti (Spotted Hyena) ◦ Rige Stikti (Stripped Hyena) ◦ Touvorra (Wolverine) ◦ Kókkino Pánta (Red Panda) ◦ Yrax (Hyrax)

◦ Dryad (Nature)
- Pocket dimension accessed through clusters of specific trees found in any wooded or forested area.
◦ Gnome (Climate)
- Pocket dimension accessed through thick rolling fog often found in open fields and plains.
◦ Fairy (Light)
- Pocket dimension accessed through a traditional fairy ring (a circle of flowers) usually found in meadows and forest clearings
- Can only contain one emotion at a time.
- Often optimistic “This glass is half-full.”
- Usually about 1 meter in size
- Have butterfly-like wings
- Have hollow bones to allow for easier flight.
◦ Sprite (Shadow)
- Pocket dimension accessed through a sprite ring (a circle of mushrooms) usually found in dark, damp places
- Can only contain one emotion at a time.
- Often pessimistic “This glass is half-empty.”
- Usually about 1 meter in size
- Have moth-like wings
- Have hollow bones to allow for easier flight.
◦ Pixie (Crystal)
- Pocket dimension accessed through a pixie ring (a circle of geodes) usually found in caves
- Can only contain one emotion at a time.
- Often neutral “This glass sure has something in it.”
- Usually about 1 meter in size
- Have wings made of crystal
deep in caves.
- Have hollow bones to allow for easier flight.
◦ Wendigo (Gravity)
- Pocket dimensions accessed through fluctuations in gravity, often found in extreme elevation levels, either above or below sea level.
◦ Leprechaun (Spirit)
- Pocket dimension accessed through rainbows.
◦ Centaur (Psyche)
- Pocket dimension can only be accessed by those who knew where to find it.
◦ Changeling (Soma)
- Pocket dimension no longer exists, was dispersed to live among humans in the form of an extremely rare recessive trait
- Born looking like humans, changelings are capable of shifting from a human form to the form of any creature in the animal kingdom.
- Changelings are unable to add mass, so however large they are as a human determines the size of their forms. They are also incapable of compressing their mass too much preventing them from becoming anything smaller than large ants.
- Most changelings only possess two or three predetermined forms, however they can unlock more forms through spiritual trials. While this was a common practice in the distant past, most trials have become lost to time.
- When in alternate forms, they still keep their sense of self, but may see things differently. For example shifting into a cat may give them night vision, but they won’t suddenly become obsessed with hunting and sleeping.
- Shifting does take energy and can exhaust them, but most are capable of shifting multiple times before resting. Like any other form of magic, it’s a muscle that must be exercised.
- They can’t regrow body parts, if something is detached from them, it’s lost forever (outside of normal surgery if applicable.)
◦ Elven (Mana)
- Pocket dimension was created with the fall of Atlantis, currently located in the ocean’s deepest depths.
- Some of the world's wealthiest families are Elven
- Born with an innate affinity for Mana, capable of learning more affinities
- Naturally generate magical energy – Can go nuclear if excess energy isn’t used
- Skin can range from human tones to any color across the spectrum
- For the first century of their lives elves physically age the equivalent of 25 human years. This time is spent entirely within their pocket dimension. On an elven’s 100th birthday, they leave the pocket dimension to live the rest of their lives in the real world, physically aging similar to humans for the next century. This means that most elves live for about 2 centuries.
◦ Sylven (Holy)
- Pocket dimension can only be accessed through the afterlife.
- Imp-like appearance with digitigrade legs ending in paws.
- Have thick fur and long furry tails for agility and balance
- Fur typically comes in pastel and lighter shades but can be any color
- Herbivorous
- Generally considered the opposite of Demons
- While usually good-natured, exceptions exist
◦ Demon (Void)
- Pocket dimension can only be accessed through the afterlife.
- Traditional imp-like species with scales of any color
- Digitigrade legs ending in hooves
- Prehensile tails ending in spades (males) or hearts (females)
- [Explicit Information] 90% of demons with spaded tails have a penis, the other 10% have vaginas but still identify as male. The opposite is true for demons with hearted tails. Trans demons are not treated with respect however and are usually slain by their parents after birth. This is an ancient tradition enforced by religious authority.
- Black and red scales are considered upper class
- White scales are extremely rare and considered a bad omen
- Can inherit mixed colors from parents, though solid colors are more common
- Carnivorous
- Generally opposite of Sylvens, though exceptions exist
◦ Dragon (Aether)
- Pocket dimension can only be accessed by dragons.
- Contain two hearts; a normal heart for pumping blood, and a crystal heart that contains their magic energy.
- Every dragon begins with a specific element, determined by bloodlines. However dragons are capable of unlocking any element, either be experiencing a strong enough emotion related to the element, or be being completely inundated in the element.
- Scale colors are determined by a dragon’s starting element, but can vary between dragons. For example a dragon born with a Fire affinity, may have scales that are any shade of orange or red, some have even been known to have shades of blue or white (for the really hot flames).
- Technically dragons never stop growing, but this process is slow. They grow quicker in the first ten years of their lives, but it usually starts slowing down once they reach about a meter in height. It takes them about a two decades to grow to about two meters tall (which is the average human height). After that it slows down considerably, taking about a century until they reach three meters tall.
- Dragons don’t die of old age like other species, instead their bodies will eventually grow so large that they can no longer gather enough energy to sustain themselves. This process would take thousands of years but no dragons have ever actually survived that long. (As far as anyone knows)
◦ Homunculus (Necro)
