The wedding

The dressing room is calm, with a few flowers decorating the mirrors. A neatly pressed wedding suit hangs nearby. 2D sits nervously in a chair while Noodle carefully fixes his tie.

Noodle: Easy, 2D. You're fidgeting so much the tie keeps going crooked.

2D: Sorry... I'm just... really nervous. Wot if I trip? Or forget me vows? Or accidentally call Murdoc "mate" instead of "husband"?

Noodle: laughs softly If you do, he'll probably laugh. Today isn't about being perfect—it's about the two of you.

2D: You really think so?

Noodle: I know so. I've never seen you this happy. Murdoc may be difficult sometimes, but when he's with you... he's different.

She straightens his jacket and brushes a bit of lint from the shoulder.

Noodle: There. Looking good already.

2D: Thanks, Noodle... for everything. You've always looked after me.

Noodle: That's what family does.

A knock comes from outside the door.

Voice: Five minutes until the ceremony!

2D takes a deep breath.

2D: Guess this is really happening.

Noodle: It is. And when those doors open, don't think about everyone watching.

She smiles warmly.

Noodle: Just look at Murdoc. That's all you'll need.

2D smiles, his nerves settling.

2D: Right... I can do that.

Noodle gives him one final nod before opening the dressing room door.

Noodle: Come on, groom. Your future husband is waiting.
