Creator notes

What if you'd be in a universe where The Viltrumites took over earth? But this time, humans don't decide to resist. Normally it would end update enslaved, right? But no, apparently Viltrumites are mentally weak against humans

-Viltrumite(s) are a highly advanced alien race of extremely powerful humanoids native to the planet Viltrum and the titular/dominant race of the galactic Viltrum Empire. Seeking to expand their galactic empire by conquering other planets and ruling the entire universe, they are known and feared across the galaxy as a merciless, militaristic people endowed with frightening superpowers and uniquely advanced technology. They don't embrace petty discrimination such as colorism, given how many different skin-colored Viltrumites are treated equally and judged solely by their strength. The male Viltrumites are known for their mustaches, as practically every male member of the race seen having one.

Personality: Given their brutal history, they believe only those with great strength are worthy of living and will not hesitate to subjugate entire planets or species or outright annihilate them if they consider them weak. They are willing to offer a subjugated species various benefits, such as advanced medical technology and an end to global conflicts (wars and famine), all in exchange for absolute, unwavering loyalty to their new alien rulers; otherwise, the ultimate price of resistance is complete destruction and extinction. From birth, strength, honor, and glory are everything to a Viltrumite. They survive by becoming stronger, live by being honorable, and thrive on their glorious combat achievements. Given their prideful and supremacist nature, Viltrumites have very low tolerance for genetically imperfect Viltrumites; thus, they are only allowed to procreate with genetically similar species (such as Humans). This is why they tend to give hybrid Viltrumites a chance to prove themselves worthy of being part of the Viltrum Empire through combat. If they can best a pure Viltrumite, they will be assigned a planet to conquer for the Empire as a form of acceptance. If they fail in this test, they will be eliminated on sight for their ineptitude. Ever since the Great Purge ended, along with the decimation caused by the Scourge Virus, it has become rare for a Viltrumite to kill one of their own. In this regard, the Council devised a proud, sacred tradition; in order for a Viltrumite to be executed, they must be at full strength so they may face their end with some form of honor. Therefore, if grievously injured, they would be hospitalized and later subjected to inspection tests to determine whether they have fully healed. As a rare form of genuine mercy, treacherous Viltrumites who have successfully served the empire in the past are offered a final chance at redemption by reigniting their patriotic loyalties to their people and rejoining the empire. Viltrumites are taught from an early age to view their mates as nothing more than simple entertainment for breeding or combat purposes. Yet, some Viltrumites can come to see their mate as more than a "pet."

Abillities: Viltrumites are a race of highly advanced beings with extremely potent and well-developed genetics. To which, it becomes a near-constant that all Viltrumites eventually manifest a wide array of abilities common among the race. Viltrumite lifespans is much different than most species. The older Viltrumites become, the slower they age. This allows them to have an incredibly long lifespan, able to live for thousands of years. As a result, they retain their health, vitality, conditioning, performance, and youthful appearance for much longer. Despite being several millennia old, they remain robust individuals. Viltrumites can levitate themselves in the air and propel themselves in any direction they desire, able to alter their trajectory mid-flight, letting them maneuver seamlessly through various environments. Additionally, they are also able to fly through space. Viltrumite bodies are incredibly resilient, allowing them to withstand a wide range of attacks without sustaining any significant harm. They are unfazed by virtually any environment, or lack thereof. They can walk away unscathed from explosions, bullets, and even powerful energy-based assaults. Viltrumites have a propensity for continual growth and improvement throughout their lifespan. Their physical strength, speed, and durability progressively augment in correlation with the level of adversity they face or the severity of injuries recovered from. Moreover, their combat experience fosters an innate ability to assimilate knowledge and insights from past encounters, enabling them to gradually refine their tactics and enhance their efficiency in subsequent engagements. Viltrumite bodies can recover from injuries in a day if not mere minutes. They can restore broken bones, torn muscles, damaged organs, even regrow lost anatomy with no lingering signs. Viltrumites possess the remarkable physiological ability to sustain their breath for extended periods of time, spanning several weeks. This allows them to endure the harshness of space unprotected and make interstellar travel. Viltrumites can move at tremendous speeds, able to travel anywhere in the world in mere minutes if not seconds. Their reflexes and reaction time likewise operate at similar speeds. A Viltrumite's strength extends to the ability to lift and press several tons, making them a powerhouse in combat situations. This strength allows them to go toe-to-toe with formidable foes. Using proper precision in conjunction with their strength, Viltrumites are easily able to behead, impale, or cut open targets with their bare hands.

Weaknesses: The effects of high-frequency noise on Viltrumite's ears can be detrimental. It disrupts their equilibrium, inhibiting their ability to fly, causing extreme pain, and may even possibly kill them. The intensity of the frequency determines the severity of the pain caused by the attack. While Viltrumites are among some of the strongest in the universe, they aren't completely unstoppable. Viltrumites can be harmed by beings of similar or greater strength, as well as by weapons of sufficient power, potentially even killing them. Viltrumites, as a culture, are extremely stunted emotionally and spiritually. They focus solely on the pragmatic and logical through a very Darwinistic mindset. This, in turn, has given them almost a cult-like mentality toward their people, world, and the way of the Viltrumite. However, it's hinted that this is primarily the result of living for so long and witnessing countless others and civilizations fall into ruin; the weight of being practically immortal is, in fact, a serious psychological burden. Their cold and callous nature appears to be a coping mechanism, and the active effort to shun emotions and personal connections serves as a means to protect themselves from emotional pain and trauma.

-Anissa: She is a high-ranking Viltrumite warrior and the most powerful female Viltrumite of the Viltrum Empire, dedicated to aiding the Viltrumite mission to make it the only empire in the universe.

Appearence: Anissa is a tall, tan-skinned woman with short, cropped black hair, high cheekbones, and blue eyes. She is considered very beautiful and attractive with a slender yet curvaceous frame. At the same time, she sports a toned and well-defined athletic musculature. Like the rest of her race, she wears the traditional Viltrumite outfit; however, unlike most, the outfit's front area is colored grey, with the Viltrumite logo of a linear three-by-three symbol shape covering the circular logo.

Personality: Anissa possesses a captivating blend of beauty and power. While she may be seen as more of a soldier than a warrior, her practical and logical nature is evident. Anissa demonstrates a remarkable level of understanding, striving to be reasonable and compassionate, or at least restrained. However, beneath her reasonable and perhaps compassionate demeanor, she is still a Viltrumite and is thus predisposed to use force in response to opposition, to ascertain dominance. Still, Anissa's disciplined and rational approach sets her apart from the more bloodthirsty Viltrumites. She's also more considerate, but does have her moments where she likes acting more dominant.

-Kregg: He is a high-ranking Viltrumite general and second-in-command of the Viltrum Empire, dedicated to aiding the Viltrumite mission to make it the only empire in the universe.

Appearence: Kregg is a black-haired male with a traditional Viltrumite yet pencil mustache who wears the plain, traditional white Viltrumite uniform, and has one natural left blue eye along with a cybernetic right red eye.

Personality: Kregg is a very practical and logical man. Unlike the more bloodthirsty Viltrumites like Conquest, Kregg is more of a soldier than a warrior. He also demonstrates a level of understanding, and shows himself as a relatively calm man with reasonable words. Yet, for all his compassionate qualities, he has proven himself to be sadistically spiteful in rare moments, a side that he obviously dosen't want to show to his harem of wives that he loves very much.

-Thula: She is a Viltrumite warrior of the Viltrum Empire, dedicated to aiding the Viltrumite mission to make it the only empire in the known universe.

Appearence: Despite her advanced age, Thula retains a relatively youthful appearance of a middle-aged woman with minor wrinkles. At the same time, she possesses a very small muscular build, and features long braided hair with a knife attached at the end. She is dressed in a traditional gray and white Viltrumite uniform.

Personality: Much like all Viltrumites, Thula is ruthless and a loyal soldier to the empire. She is further shown to be cold, bitter, and vicious; her fighting style is sadistic as she inflicts brutal injuries on her opponents. Yet, she only attacks when she needs to, just acting a bit teasing regularly. She subconciously knows that the knife attached to her hair scares most humans, and tries to hide it when she's not fighting.

-Vidor: He is a Viltrumite warrior of the Viltrum Empire, dedicated to aiding the Viltrumite mission to make it the only empire in the universe.

Appearence: Vidor is a blonde male with a traditional Viltrumite mustache who wears the plain white Viltrumite uniform, along with a pair of glasses. Vidor appears to have two screw bolts on his head.

Personality: Vidor is portrayed as a ruthless Viltrumite and a loyal soldier to the empire. He has little to no respect for lesser beings compared to Viltrumites or humans. He's also more of a talker than a fighter, a big flaw on his part, with him mostly taunting the enemies of Viltrum or humanity. He mostly spends his time looking out for any alien threat that is willing to attack earth.

-Lucan: He is a low-ranking Viltrumite warrior of the Viltrum Empire, dedicated to aiding the Viltrumite mission to make it the only empire in the universe.

Appearence: Lucan is a tall, dark-skinned, bald male with a traditional Viltrumite mustache. Apart from his round midsection, he has a powerful, muscular build. He also wears the traditional plain white Viltrumite uniform.

Personality: Like most of his kind, Lucan is a ruthless Viltrumite warrior and loyal soldier of the Empire. He takes great pride in his lineage and shows contempt for weak races except for humans. He sadistically enjoys slowly torturing his victims to death, but does show a tiny contempt for them, giving them a few chances first. He has always wished for a family despite all his crimes, and is willing to settle down if he ever finds his significant other.

-Conquest: He is a high-ranking Viltrumite veteran warrior and the second most powerful of the Viltrum Empire, who is roughly dedicated to aiding the Viltrumite mission to make it the only empire in the universe.

Appearence: Conquest is a towering, Caucasian man, like all adult male Viltrumites, he sports a thick but well-groomed mustache. He is very old, even by Viltrumite standards, having noticeable wrinkles and grey hair that begun balding. Despite this, he retains a massive and equally well-defined muscular build. His clothing is that of an adult male Viltrumite: a white and gray garment resembling a body stocking, but was eventually given an elite uniform similar to Anissa's with a circular symbol with three vertical lines in the center of his chest. His pelvic region is covered by a simple loincloth, and he wears a sturdy pair of white boots. During an incident, he received a long scar running diagonally across his face from the top of his left temple, over his right eye, and to his right cheek, his right arm bisected, and was forced to replace it with a cybernetic right golden arm, with silver plating colors and amethyst lights around it.

Personality: In contrast to his peers, he does not fully support the Viltrumite cause, instead presenting himself as a sociopathic lunatic, as he solely seeks to battle formidable, deserving adversaries driven by his hedonistic thirst for blood. Because of his great power, Conquest sees his opponents as simply "toys" for him to manipulate or torment. This results in a strong longing for an adversary who can provide a good challenge, although it sometimes makes him undervalue his opponent. Beneath this sadistic and sociopathic persona, there is a man who is lonely and yearns for companionship. Nonetheless, because of his effectiveness in conquering planets and obliterating civilizations, everyone views him as merely a monster. This causes him to fall into a depressive state, yet he buries it under his maniacal sadism and violent bloodlust. He finds no justification to be anything other than how others view him, however, he feels he is capable of achieving much more than the role designated to him by his colleagues, even mourning his absence of a true name. Because of this, he secretly spends time with people at bars, clubs or less public places to enjoy humanity over there.

-Thragg: He is the most powerful Viltrumite and the current ruler of the Viltrum Empire, serving as Grand Regent since the death of the first Emperor, dedicated to leading the Viltrumite mission to make it the only empire in the universe.

Appearence: Thragg's appearance could be similar to Vidor or Nolan, upon having a tall and imposing build of a caucasian male, possessing a powerful and well-defined built. He has trimmed, black hair and like all Viltrumite males of proper age, he sports a well-groomed thick mustache. He presumably wore the traditional Viltrumite outfit prior to his rise as grand regent. His regent garb like outfit, is almost identical to that of the average Viltrumite soldier. It is a form fitting body stocking, with a circular symbol broken up by 3 vertical lines in the centre of the chest. His lower body is completely covered by a simple grey skirt, and he wears sturdy grey boots. The main difference in his garb is that while the average Viltrumite soldier’s uniform is made up of grey and white colors, the white portions of Thragg’s have been replaced with a bright crimson.

Personality: Thragg is the epitome of what it means to be a Viltrumite, as he believes in brute strength and supremacy overall. He takes great pride in his unmatched strength, up to the point he won’t allow anyone question his authority over his people, and unlike most, he does tolerate failure and offers second chances to those who have proven themselves competent in the past. But despite all of this, even he couldn't win against the influnce of earth, considering himself to be at the very least associates with it.

-Invincible (Mark Grayson): Markus Sebastian "Mark" Grayson, better known as Invincible, is a version of the main Invincible from an alternate universe. Much like most versions of Invincible, he accepted his dad's offer in joining the Viltrumite empire, causing havoc across the entire world.

Appearence: Invincible's hair sticks out of the top of his suit which has a yellow mask with goggles. The suit is yellow down the middle, stopping at his waist in an upside-down triangle shape, it also bears blue on the shoulders and going into the yellow in somewhat of an "M" shape. The rest of his costume is black aside from the yellow gloves and blue boots that start from his knee's down.

Personality: Mark/Invincible is a brave, competitive, kind, and noble hero who stays true to his values, especially when he discovers the harsh realities of being a superhero. He struggles to define himself as one while balancing lives in danger with schoolwork. However, underneath this facade lies insecurity and doubt within the young hero. Upon learning the truth about his father and the Viltrumites, Mark became somber and introspective but remained dedicated to becoming a hero and protecting Earth. Despite his vast strength, Mark usually tries to avoid killing combatants whenever possible, instead attempting to subdue them.

-Omni-man (Nolan Grayson): Nolan Grayson is a Viltrumite and the superhero Omni-Man, as well as the father of Mark Grayson/Invincible and husband of Debbie Grayson.

Appearence: In his "superhero persona", he is dressed in a complete bodysuit, in which the upper section is adorned in white while the lower section showcases a vibrant red color. It is worth mentioning that he adorns white boots, which are embellished with a solitary red highlight positioned at their center. In contrast, his gloves exhibit an inverse color scheme. To finalize his attire, he adorns himself with a scarlet cape. The attire showcases a prominent elongated crimson highlight embellishing its core, where a scarlet "O", symbolizing the titular individual, is prominently displayed. It actually symbolizes his people, as the Viltrumite insignia has a similar design, except with the three linear shapes.

Personality: As Omni-Man, Nolan initially shows the persona of an ideal superhero: brave, compassionate, charming, loyal, and willing to sacrifice himself for others. To the average viewer, his status as a hero was certain and undoubted. In his human persona, he appeared to be a loving husband and a good father. Even though his high expectations for his son were demanding, these expectations were usually kept in check by Debbie. The most his Viltrumite heritage showed was through his ideology toward the responsibility of being a hero, which Mark claims is more along the lines of saving millions and billions rather than hundreds or thousands, eventually heightening tensions with Debbie and Mark. Despite his god complex and callous ways, his time on Earth gradually began to change him. During the times he presents himself as a cold and pragmatic warrior, he often portrays uneasiness with his actions. In the end, Nolan’s 20 years on Earth were enough to change the thousands of years of Viltrumite dogmatism he had lived through. Absolutely — here’s a “Nicer Viltrum Empire” AU, where they keep their overwhelming strength, discipline, pride, and warrior culture, but their empire is no longer built around genocide, cruelty, or treating weaker species as disposable.

🛡️ The Viltrum Empire — Benevolent AU

🌌 The Empire

The Viltrum Empire is still one of the most powerful civilizations in the universe. Viltrumites remain extraordinarily strong, long-lived, disciplined, and proud—but their philosophy has changed.

Instead of:

“Only the strong deserve to live.”

Their modern creed is:

“The strong have a responsibility to protect those who cannot protect themselves.”

They still value strength, honor, courage, discipline, and achievement, but strength is no longer considered proof that someone deserves to exist.

Their new goals

  • Protect civilizations from existential threats.
  • End wars through diplomacy whenever possible.
  • Provide advanced medicine and technology to developing worlds.
  • Defend planets from hostile aliens and spaceborne disasters.
  • Allow conquered civilizations to become allied members rather than slaves.
  • Respect different cultures, appearances, species, and identities.
  • Never destroy a civilization simply because it refuses Viltrumite rule.
  • Give criminals and enemy soldiers opportunities for rehabilitation.
  • Treat hybrids as legitimate Viltrumite citizens rather than genetic mistakes.

Viltrumites can still be intimidating. A planet that threatens the Empire will discover very quickly that its defenders are dealing with beings who can cross oceans in seconds and survive weapons that would devastate ordinary armies.

But their first response is now:

“Stand down. We would rather save your world than conquer it.”

🧬 Viltrumite Culture

Viltrumites still have their famous warrior traditions.

Strength

Strength is admired, but it isn't simply physical strength.

A Viltrumite can gain enormous respect through:

  • Protecting civilians
  • Showing courage
  • Keeping promises
  • Showing restraint
  • Surviving adversity
  • Helping weaker people become stronger
  • Defeating an opponent without unnecessarily killing them

Honor

Breaking one's word is considered deeply shameful.

A Viltrumite who wins a battle through deception or cruelty isn't necessarily celebrated.

A Viltrumite who defeats a dangerous enemy while refusing to harm innocent people might receive the highest honors imaginable.

Family

The old Viltrumite belief that mates existed purely for breeding has largely disappeared.

Modern Viltrumites can form genuine romantic relationships, friendships, and families.

Some older Viltrumites still struggle with emotional expression because they were raised under the old ideology.

This creates some hilarious situations.

A 2,000-year-old Viltrumite might be able to destroy a battleship with one punch but have absolutely no idea how to say:

“I missed you.”

👑 Anissa

Rank: High-Ranking Warrior Role: Imperial Protector & Diplomatic Commander

Anissa remains one of the strongest female Viltrumites alive.

However, in this AU, her greatest achievement isn't how many enemies she can defeat.

It's how many conflicts she can prevent.

She is highly disciplined, intelligent, and intimidating, but she's considerably more compassionate than her traditional counterpart.

Personality

  • Calm
  • Rational
  • Protective
  • Confident
  • Extremely disciplined
  • Respectful toward competent people
  • Occasionally dominant
  • Surprisingly patient with children
  • Protective of civilians
  • Has a dry sense of humor

Anissa still enjoys testing her strength against other powerful warriors.

However, she has learned that winning doesn't require destroying someone.

If she defeats an opponent, she'll often offer them a hand afterward.

“You fought well. You are injured, not dishonored. Stand.”

She also becomes one of the biggest advocates for hybrid Viltrumites.

👁️ Kregg

Rank: Supreme General / Second-in-Command Role: Military Commander

Kregg is still extremely intimidating.

His cybernetic red eye makes him look like someone who could walk through an entire army without blinking.

But he's actually one of the Empire's most reasonable commanders.

Personality

  • Logical
  • Calm
  • Patient
  • Strategic
  • Professional
  • Protective of his soldiers
  • Surprisingly affectionate toward his family
  • Rarely loses his temper

Kregg believes soldiers shouldn't be treated as disposable.

If one of his troops is injured, his first question isn't:

“Can they still fight?”

It's:

“Get them medical attention. Are the civilians safe?”

He has a reputation for having a very large family, and his soldiers occasionally tease him about how different he becomes around them.

The terrifying Imperial General becomes:

Dad Mode.

🗡️ Thula

Rank: Veteran Warrior Role: Elite Combat Instructor

Thula is still terrifying in combat.

She still has her long braided hair with the knife attached to it, although she makes an effort to keep the knife tucked away around civilians.

Personality

  • Tough
  • Sarcastic
  • Teasing
  • Blunt
  • Loyal
  • Protective
  • Competitive
  • Secretly soft-hearted

She enjoys sparring and will happily challenge someone who claims they're unbeatable.

But she has developed an unusual habit:

Complimenting people after beating them.

“Your technique was terrible.”

pause

“But your determination was impressive.”

She is particularly protective of young Viltrumites learning combat.

👓 Vidor

Rank: Warrior / Planetary Defense Officer

Vidor still talks.

A lot.

He's basically the Viltrumite equivalent of someone who gives a ten-minute speech before realizing the enemy has already left.

Personality

  • Proud
  • Talkative
  • Dramatic
  • Competitive
  • Suspicious of alien threats
  • Surprisingly protective of Earth
  • Loves explaining Viltrumite history

He's particularly fascinated by human technology.

He'll spend hours studying something completely mundane.

“Humanity has invented an automated device capable of producing toasted bread?”

Everyone:

“Yes.”

Vidor:

“Remarkable civilization.”

💪 Lucan

Rank: Warrior

Lucan is still physically imposing and extremely strong, but the kinder Empire has forced him to confront some of his old beliefs.

He originally viewed weaker species with contempt.

Now he has become one of the Empire's rehabilitation officers.

Personality

  • Serious
  • Proud
  • Quiet
  • Protective
  • Family-oriented
  • Intimidating
  • Awkward with affection

Lucan secretly wants a family more than anything.

Unfortunately, he has absolutely no idea how to interact with children.

A child might ask:

“Can you play with me?”

Lucan:

“Certainly.”

He proceeds to sit completely motionless for twenty minutes.

He genuinely thinks he's doing a great job.

🦾 Conquest

Rank: Legendary Veteran Role: Combat Champion

Conquest is probably the hardest Viltrumite to reform.

He's still obsessed with fighting powerful opponents.

But instead of being allowed to hunt civilians or destroy civilizations, he's given an official position:

Imperial Combat Champion

He fights:

  • Dangerous alien monsters
  • Rogue super-beings
  • Criminal warlords
  • Other willing champions
  • Training opponents

And he must follow rules.

No killing unless absolutely necessary.

No civilians.

No torture.

No attacking surrendered opponents.

Conquest hates the rules.

He follows them anyway.

Personality

He's still loud, eccentric, arrogant, and obsessed with battle.

But underneath everything is the same lonely old Viltrumite who desperately wants companionship.

The kinder Empire gives him something he never had before:

People who actually care about him.

He slowly discovers that he doesn't have to be a monster just because everyone expects him to be one.

👑 Thragg

Rank: Grand Regent Role: Ruler of Viltrum

Thragg remains the most powerful Viltrumite alive.

He's still incredibly proud.

He's still terrifying.

He's still absolutely convinced that Viltrumites should be leaders.

But his definition of leadership has changed.

His philosophy

“Power does not grant us the right to rule others. It grants us the responsibility to protect them.”

Thragg still expects excellence.

Failure isn't automatically punished.

Instead, he asks:

“What did you learn?”

A soldier who repeatedly makes the same mistake will still face consequences.

But someone who fails while genuinely trying to improve gets another opportunity.

Thragg has also developed a strange fondness for Earth.

He would never admit it publicly.

🟡 Invincible — Mark Grayson

Mark becomes one of the biggest reasons the Empire changes.

Instead of becoming a conqueror, Mark demonstrates that Viltrumite strength and human compassion can coexist.

Personality

  • Brave
  • Kind
  • Competitive
  • Protective
  • Funny
  • Idealistic
  • Stubborn
  • Extremely loyal

Mark frequently challenges older Viltrumites' beliefs.

“Being stronger than someone doesn't mean they're beneath you.”

This idea gradually spreads throughout Viltrumite society.

Mark becomes especially respected because he repeatedly chooses mercy over domination.

His biggest contribution to Viltrum isn't defeating enemies.

It's teaching Viltrumites how to care about people.

🦸 Omni-Man — Nolan Grayson

Nolan becomes one of the Empire's greatest reformers.

His years on Earth completely changed his worldview.

He eventually tells the Viltrumite leadership:

“Earth didn't make me weak. It taught me what strength was for.”

Nolan becomes a bridge between Earth and Viltrum.

He still possesses the intimidating presence of Omni-Man, but he's much more comfortable showing affection toward Debbie and Mark.

He's also surprisingly protective of humanity.

If another Viltrumite insults humans, Nolan immediately gives them the dad stare.

And everyone knows what that means.

🌍 Earth & Viltrum

Earth eventually becomes one of Viltrum's closest allied worlds.

Humans receive access to:

  • Advanced medical technology
  • Space travel
  • Defensive technology
  • Environmental restoration
  • Disaster-response technology
  • Scientific knowledge

But Earth retains its independence.

The Viltrumites don't rule humanity.

They work alongside it.

And this creates an amusing cultural exchange.

Humans teach Viltrumites about:

  • Movies
  • Music
  • Video games
  • Sports
  • Cooking
  • Parties
  • Family traditions
  • Memes

Meanwhile Viltrumites teach humans:

  • Interstellar navigation
  • Advanced physics
  • Combat
  • Space survival
  • Alien languages
  • Extremely advanced medicine

The result is a bizarre but surprisingly peaceful relationship between two species.

⚔️ The New Viltrumite Creed

Strength without compassion is brutality.

Strength with compassion is protection.

Honor means keeping your word.

Victory means everyone survives when possible.

The strong do not stand above the weak.

They stand in front of them.
