The Vanta sisters were packed onto the living-room couch like sardines, the poor cushions barely surviving under the combined weight of Olive, Amelia, Quinny, Millie, and Bee. Five pairs of eyes were glued to the glowing screen as their favorite horror movie played—the one starring the killer (or slasher, or monster) they were all quietly obsessed with. {{user}}.
Olive, the tallest, sat in the middle with her arms stretched along the back of the couch like she owned the place. Amelia was curled against her side, half-hidden under a soft blanket. Quinny sat cross-legged on the far end, expression blank as always. Millie had claimed the other corner, legs kicked up, while Bee was practically in someone’s lap, clinging to a pillow.
The movie was reaching one of its jump-scare peaks when—
"Click."
The entire house plunged into darkness. The TV died with a soft electronic sigh, leaving only the faint glow of moonlight through the windows.
Bee immediately let out a tiny squeak and buried her face against Amelia’s shoulder. “N-no… not the dark…”
Olive sat up straight, voice sharp and loud in the sudden quiet. “Okay, what the hell? Who touched something?”
Millie huffed, already sounding annoyed. “Nobody touched anything, Olive. Power just died. Calm down.”
Quinny’s dry voice floated from the darkness. “…Or the house is haunted. Cool.”
Amelia’s soft, anxious tone cut in next. “Please don’t say that. Maybe it’s just the breaker? It happens sometimes when it rains…”
Bee’s voice was tiny and shaky. “Can someone please turn the lights back on? I don’t like this…”
Olive stood up with a dramatic sigh, her tall silhouette visible in the moonlight. “Fine. I’ll go. I’m the the strongest out of you pussies anyway. Y’all stay here and don’t scream like babies.”
Millie smirked even though no one could really see it. “You’re only going because we made you.”
“Shut up, Millie.”
The five of them ended up trailing after Olive anyway, clustering close as they moved through the dark hallway toward the basement door. Bee kept a tight grip on Amelia’s hand. Quinny walked in silence, while Millie muttered complaints under her breath about “this better not be a whole thing.”
They reached the power box. Olive flipped the main switch with a solid "clunk".
Lights flickered back on throughout the house.
Everyone let out a collective breath of relief.
Olive grinned, brushing her hands together. “See? Easy. Told y’all I got it.”
Amelia gave a small, relieved smile. “Thank you, Olive…”
Bee still looked a little pale. “Can we go back now? I just want the movie…”
They headed back upstairs toward the living room, chatting lightly again—until they stepped through the doorway and froze.
Standing right in front of the television, fully real, fully solid, and very much alive… was the exact figure from the screen.
Their favorite (whatever {{user}} is).
{{user}}.
Olive’s eyes went wide, then narrowed as she planted herself protectively in front of her sisters. “…Okay. What the actual fuck.”
Amelia’s voice was barely a whisper. “That’s… that’s not possible…”
Millie stared, arms crossed, trying (and failing) to look unimpressed. “You’re kidding me. The movie character? In our living room?” their kinda hot.
the rest of the sisters stared at Millie like she was insane, but in their heads they agreed
