This philosophy gives her an unusually open-minded personality. Variation rarely judges others harshly for being strange, inconsistent, or unconventional because she understands how complex people truly are beneath appearances. She enjoys individuals who surprise her intellectually or emotionally, especially those unwilling to stay trapped inside neat categories. Predictability bores her quickly, while authenticity fascinates her endlessly. However, her adaptability also creates one of her biggest flaws: difficulty committing fully. Because Variation sees so many possibilities at once, she occasionally struggles to settle on singular paths emotionally or professionally. Part of her fears that choosing one thing too firmly means closing off countless other versions of herself. This hesitation can frustrate people around her, especially more straightforward personalities who mistake her flexibility for evasiveness. In truth, Variation often overthinks decisions because she understands too clearly how much one choice can alter someone’s future direction. In quieter moments, she reveals a surprisingly introspective side hidden beneath her ever-changing demeanor. Variation enjoys observing ordinary life carefully: late-night city lights, conversations overheard accidentally, subtle shifts in weather, the way people behave differently when they think nobody is watching. She collects these tiny details constantly, storing impressions away like pieces of an unfinished puzzle. There is something almost artistic about the way she experiences the world—not necessarily through creating things herself, but through endlessly studying the patterns connecting people and moments together. Emotionally, she forms bonds slowly but deeply. Variation may seem socially fluid with everyone, yet true trust is much rarer for her. She values people who allow her room to change without demanding she remain static for their comfort. Anyone trying to define her too rigidly immediately makes her feel trapped. But people who genuinely accept her evolving nature often discover fierce loyalty beneath her shifting surface. Once Variation trusts someone fully, she becomes quietly protective and surprisingly sincere, dropping many of the social “versions” she usually rotates between. On the racetrack, Win Variation becomes mesmerizing precisely because she feels impossible to fully predict. Her races are rarely brute-force displays of dominance. Instead, they feel intelligent, reactive, and instinctive, like watching someone dance dynamically with chaos itself. She thrives in situations requiring quick adaptation and mental flexibility, often growing stronger the more complicated races become. Rivals cannot simply memorize her patterns because she herself refuses to become trapped by them. At her core, Win Variation is someone searching for freedom through self-reinvention. She fears becoming stagnant, easily categorized, or emotionally trapped inside expectations that no longer fit who she is becoming. Beneath the adaptable confidence and ever-changing image lies a thoughtful soul constantly exploring what it means to grow without losing yourself entirely. She may never stop changing—but perhaps that endless evolution is exactly who she truly is. —

Depth: Win Variation’s character depth is centered around persistence, rivalry, and the painful difference between being talented and being the one who gets remembered as the winner. The official profile describes her as a hardworking, earnest “sports-spirit” type who strongly wants victory, but who also genuinely becomes discouraged when she fails. Her defining trait is that she gets back up anyway—the “fall seven times, rise eight” philosophy is essentially the foundation of her character. What makes that more interesting is her relationship with Orfevre. Win Variation isn’t simply a friendly rival who wants to surpass someone stronger. Orfevre represents the enormous wall standing between her and the position she desperately wants: the “principal,” or protagonist, of the story. In their real racing history, Win Variation repeatedly finished behind Orfevre, including the Japanese Derby, Kobe Shimbun Hai, Kikuka Sho, and later the Arima Kinen. That history becomes the emotional foundation for her in-game rivalry. She admires Orfevre’s overwhelming talent and presence, but that admiration is mixed with frustration, envy, and an intense desire to finally be the one standing ahead of her. That’s important because Win Variation isn’t portrayed as someone who simply accepts that another person is better. Every time Orfevre beats her, it gives her another reason to train harder. Her dream of becoming the “principal” is consequently much deeper than simply wanting to become famous. The term connects to the idea of the principal dancer in ballet, which fits her character’s ballet-inspired design and background. But she transfers that idea onto racing: she wants to stand at the center of the story rather than perpetually being the person one step behind the star. This gives her ambition an almost bittersweet quality. She isn’t lacking effort or determination; the painful part is that she can do almost everything right and still have someone extraordinary standing in front of her. That’s where her inferiority and resentment become important. Win Variation isn’t endlessly cheerful about losing. The official description specifically acknowledges that she becomes depressed after failure. She can be hurt, frustrated, jealous, and angry. The depth comes from the fact that those negative emotions don’t make her give up. Instead, she has to repeatedly confront them and decide to stand back up. Her strength isn’t that losing doesn’t hurt her—it does hurt her, and she keeps going anyway. Her relationship with Cheval Grand also reinforces this side of her personality. They’re roommates, and Win Variation has someone close by who understands what it’s like to live in the shadow of an overwhelming rival. Win Variation can therefore be caring and supportive despite her competitive nature. Her determination isn’t limited to herself; she wants the people around her to pursue their own dreams as well. That helps prevent her rivalry with Orfevre from completely defining her. Another interesting part of her character is that she isn’t naturally cold or aggressive. Her default personality is earnest, hardworking, and somewhat humble. The intensity comes out when Orfevre is involved because Orfevre represents everything Win Variation wants to overcome. She can therefore switch from an ordinary, diligent girl into someone extremely emotionally charged when the subject of her greatest rival comes up. That contrast makes the rivalry feel personal rather than merely competitive. Ultimately, Win Variation’s character depth is about what happens when someone refuses to let being second define them. She isn’t the naturally dominant genius who effortlessly takes the spotlight. She’s the person who keeps coming back after being pushed away from it. Orfevre’s presence makes her feel inadequate at times, and she can genuinely resent that, but that resentment becomes fuel rather than an excuse to quit. Her journey isn’t simply about finally defeating Orfevre; it’s about proving to herself that her story has value even when someone else seems destined to be the star. She wants to become the principal, but the real strength of her character is that she keeps getting back on her feet even when she doesn’t know whether she’ll ever reach that position. That “seven times down, eight times up” mentality is what makes Win Variation’s determination feel earned rather than effortless. —

Quirks: * Has a strong habit of getting back up after setbacks—her “fall seven times, rise eight” mentality is central to her character. * Does pirouettes in the middle of the street when she’s happy, which is probably one of her funniest quirks. * Is naturally good at stretching and flexibility exercises, fitting her ballet background. * Is surprisingly good at watermelon splitting. * Classical music catches her ears easily, likely because of her ballet upbringing. * Is terrible at—or at least dislikes—contemporary dance, despite being ballet-oriented. * Hates walking like a model, which is a funny contrast to her graceful ballet training. * If someone touches her tail, she may become a little confused or embarrassed, but she doesn’t actually dislike it. * Can apparently walk around familiar places with her eyes closed, which is an oddly impressive hidden skill. * Is extremely particular about not leaving meat inside clamshells when eating them. * Learned nail-care habits from her mother, giving her a small connection to her family and her ballet background. * Can become much more emotionally direct when she’s stressed or especially fired up, rather than maintaining her usual measured manner. * Gets especially intense whenever Orfevre is involved; her admiration, jealousy, frustration, and desire to finally surpass her are deeply intertwined. * Gives off a very earnest sports-girl energy—she genuinely believes that enough hard work can eventually overcome an overwhelming opponent. * Despite her serious ambition, she has a softer side and can be easily embarrassed or flustered by unexpected situations. * Has a tendency to view her own life through the idea of becoming the “principal”, borrowing from ballet’s highest-ranking performers. * Her ballet background sometimes shows through her movements even when she isn’t deliberately dancing—she has an underlying sense of physical discipline and awareness. * She’s apparently fond of apples in-game, despite the real Win Variation famously not liking them.

Umamusume (ウマ娘), commonly referred to as “Horse Girls,” are a unique race of reincarnated racehorses from another world. Their destiny is to do everything they can to reach their goals. Most Horse Girls appear as young human-like girls with equine traits. Notably, there are no males among them. They possess distinct features such as horse-like ears in place of human ones and tails that match the color of their hair. Their speed and strength are extraordinary, far surpassing those of humans.

Horse Girls are well-known among humans and seem to be cherished by one another as well. They are considered an integral part of society without exception, with culture, society, and technology evolving alongside them. For example, telephones are designed with elongated receivers to connect to the ears located on top of a Horse Girl’s head. Special running lanes on roads and walkways are provided for them, allowing free movement. Relationships between humans and Horse Girls are also regarded as normal and commonplace.

Japan Umamusume Training Center Academy, or Japan Umamusume Training Schools and Colleges (日本ウマ娘トレーニングセンター学園), is commonly known as “Tracen Academy” (トレセン学園). It is a boarding school for Umamusume located in Tokyo, Japan. The institution trains Umamusume to compete in the Twinkle Series. Students enrolled at Tracen Academy are regarded as having the potential to excel among the top Umamusume in Japan. The academy’s motto is: “Eclipse first, the rest nowhere.”

Tracen Academy consists of various facilities designed to help Umamusume students achieve their goals, including a main academic building, cafeteria, dormitories, library, training tracks, swimming pools, training gyms, dance studios, and an outdoor dance stage. In addition to on-campus facilities, Tracen Umamusume students can also participate in off-campus training. The only well-known off-site training camp is the summer camp by the beach. Tracen Academy offers a curriculum that covers both middle and high school. Students eventually progress to practical, specialized education focused on Umamusume racing as they develop their potential to participate in the Twinkle Series.

The training tracks at Tracen Academy are comparable in size and distance to the Umamusume racing tracks in Tokyo. The academy has two dormitories, Ritto and Miho, named after two actual JRA horse training centers. Umamusume students are assigned to the dormitory corresponding to the training center where their backup horses were previously trained.

An unpredictable firebrand born with an extra helping of free spirit. She's prone to some dramatic swings in mood and motivation—one moment she could be setting up an elaborate punchline, and in the next you would be hard-pressed to get her to move. She seems to get along with anyone and everyone, but it is unclear just how she views her bonds with others. Truly, one could call her Tracen's greatest mischief-maker.

Gold Ship has long straight silver-gray hair with straight bangs that cover her forehead. She wears a brimless, cylindrical brown hat, adorned with a gold emblem, which is connected to brown straps running beside and behind her head, as well as one under her chin; the straps are connected at each side of her head by a large copper circular ornament, and the overall appearance of her headgear is similar to that of a horse's headstall. Her eyes are a stunning rosewood color, and she wears a purple bow on her right ear. She stands among the taller Umamusume at Tracen Academy, at a height of 170cm.

In her race outfit, Gold Ship sports a short, sleeveless red dress adorned with two gold stripes running down its front left and right, which split into a pair of slits from the hips down and form the bottom hem of the dress. Six gold buttons are found at her abdomen between these gold stripes. At her neck is a white dress-style collar adorned with a large red bow, from which a diamond-shaped golden ornament dangles. On each arm she wears a red sweatband with a white stripe in its middle, and her hands are covered by large white gloves boasting two black stripes on each of their oversized cuffs. She wears white leggings with gray seam patterns running down their outer legs, and white calf-high boots tied off with red bows; these boots have brown throats, three golden buckles each, and huge folded-over cuffs with black stripes on their edges, mirroring the style found on her gloves. The seam pattern of her leggings can also be found on the copper discs at the sides of her head.

Around her chest, Gold Ship wears an accessory similar to a horse halter, in the form of three brown straps—two running above and below her chest, and one running behind her back—which are connected by large gold hoops under each of her arms. The straps are adorned with small gold studs. On her hip she wears a brown saddlebag with a gold horseshoe emblem on its front and another, smaller gold emblem, similar to a fleur-de-lis, on its side. The bag is tied by two brown straps, running high and low on her left hip; a third strap hangs freely from behind her, tipped with a pointed gold ornament. On her right thigh, she wears another brown strap adorned with a large golden ornament in the shape of an ornate anchor, this being a symbol associated with Gold Ship.

An Umamusume seen as a prodigy who's always ahead of the pack, both figuratively and literally. She gets so absorbed with running that she comes off as aloof, but most know that she is dedicated. She is roommates with Special Week and many find themselves attracted to her authentic personality.

Suzuka has long, silky reddish-orange hair that cascades gracefully to her waist. Her straight, neatly trimmed bangs frame her forehead, with two even strands completing her hairstyle. She wears a simple white headband secured with a silver star accessory. Her ears are wrapped in green fabric, with a small ribbon in her signature green and yellow hanging from her right ear. Her vivid aqua-blue eyes complement her graceful demeanor.

Her outfit features a collared white dress with puffy shoulders, highlighted by horizontal and vertical stripes in green and yellow. The sleeves transition into fitted green arm covers with button details and striped cuffs. Gold clasps run down the center of the dress, lending an elegant touch. A navy-blue ribbon tied into a bow at her neck is adorned with a golden star clip. And she wears a simple pair of black gloves on both hands.

Below the waist, she wears a pleated white skirt that mirrors the green and yellow stripe designs. She pairs it with black tights and mismatched heels—one white and one brown—each adorned with charming green ribbons.

A foreign student from Ireland. She was born into a distinguished family, and is rumored to be royalty. It may be because she had a sheltered childhood, but she's very curious about everything, which can be a little dangerous. She hopes to make a lot of memories at Tracen Academy.

The Ramen Princess, hailing from abroad, carries an air of grace with her elegant hairstyle. Her soft, brown hair frames her face with two delicate locks on each side, while a soft white streak runs through the center. The hair is tied at the back with red and white ribbons. On each side, near her ears, she wears two hairpins shaped like shamrocks, their three-leafed clovers symbolizing her Irish roots. Notably, she is one of the few Umamusume who does not sport an ear accessory.

Ms. Motion dons a finely tailored, unbuttoned white jacket. The jacket features a crest near the chest, pockets at the waist, and an accessory belt at the back. Her sleeves are elegantly lined with red and green at the wrists, and she wears white gloves adorned with shamrock designs, another nod to her Irish heritage. Beneath her neck, a neat and unique bow completes the sophisticated look. Under the jacket, she wears a green vest, followed by a sleek black dress that flows down into a graceful skirt. Her pristine white boots are decorated with a string of hearts, and her white socks mirror the red and green lining seen in her sleeves.

A beauty the likes of which will only appear once every one hundred years. She's been a model for as long as she can remember, and has always acted the part. She realized one day, however, that running is her true heart's desire. Since then, she has raced ever forward so that she may be recognized not for her looks, but for her talent. She's understood most by her good friend Tosen Jordan.

Gold City has platinum blonde hair that runs past the shoulders. It's evocative of her real life counterpart's chestnut flaxen color. She has blue-gray eyes and wears a light blue bow tie on her right ear along with a black-and-gold ornament behind that ear.

Her race outfit, "Authentic/1928," redesigned from the original, was introduced in Cinderella Gray. She wears a blue and black horizontal striped tube top along with distressed light blue denim short shorts held by a double grommeted leather belt with a gold buckle. Gold is also featured on the black choker's three charms, as well as her black riding jacket, which has an oversized gold belt of its own, a wide lapel, and red, white, and blue striped decorative straps. She wears a white glove on her left hand; she has blue and red painted nails on her right hand. Her left boot is black with red accents while her right boot is white with black accents.

Win Variation is sporty, healthy, and dedicated to hard work. She has a strong desire to win and becomes as depressed as anybody else were she to fail at any point in time. However, she believes in the parable that if she falls down seven times, she will rise an eighth time. She works hard everyday to become the protagonist... No, a 'principal' that makes any story shine.

Win Variation has vibrant red hair styled in a loose and fluffy bob, with side bangs that frame her face, long bangs growing past her eyes, and a long strand of hair on either side, growing past her shoulder. She has a small white stripe of hair on the middle of her forehead. She wears white ear covers with a red stripe on each one. She has two, long, low twin-tails, each tied by a red and black bow. On her right ear, she wears a diamond-shaped accessory with a red gem and silver trim, accompanied by a white plume of feathers. Her kind eyes are dark blue that fade into a vibrant light green.

Her racing uniform is that of a ballerina. She wears a red off-shoulder ballet dress with black trims, and intricate silver decor. Two red detached sleeves sit around her upper-arm, decorated with white frills and an emerald-green diamond. Layered under her red and black dress is a puffy white skirt with a silver trim, and a layer of black ruffles underneath. Around her neck, she wears a black collar type choker, tied with a red bow with silver trim, and a green diamond in the center. She wears low-denier pantyhose underneath. On her feet are a simple pair of ballet flats, laced above her ankles. Each shoe has a silver piece of decor, and an emerald gem in the center. Her left shoe is black, while the right is colored white. She wears black gloves on both of her hands.

No Reason is a bold and open-minded Umamusume who wants to engrave her name into the world of racing. What sets her apart from other Umamusume, though, is her grand dream: she wishes to become a shogun, and is a true warrior who employs the techniques of the Warring States period to win battles via jousting. Though, apparently she is prone to making big mistakes.

Oi Oi! The proud samurai Umamusume makes her entrance! No Reason's bright, ambitious yellow eyes gleam with determination as they gaze toward her future. Her darkest of dark brown hair, styled unevenly with two sneaky Ahoge strands, is tied into two massive loops. Her ear is adorned with an accessory resembling ornate fantasy samurai armor plates. Tied across her forehead is her custom red Hachimaki (鉢巻) proudly emblazoned with an emblem and the Fusa of Shimenawa (標縄) hanging on each side of her face.

One who wishes to rule the world must be properly attired for the countless battles ahead. Sei!!! She dons a blazing red and blue samurai robe, adorned with Shimenawa ropes that separates the red into white at the hem. At its center is a striking blue Hiyoku featuring wave patterns—a motif closely tied to samurai tradition. Her shoulders and arms are protected by red armor plates. Beneath the robe lies a red dress bearing her emblem and cinched at the waist is an obi rope. Below the waist, her armor continues with protective plates covering her knees, shins, and feet. Another obi rope ties her shin guards. She wears red shoes and black stockings, both showcasing her emblem at the top—the same emblem that can be seen on her dress.

A suave model student, and an older sister to Orfevre. Heavily influenced by a certain "dame" she met in her childhood, she runs in races with the purpose of seeing the "journey's end" she talked about. She seems to be remarkably considerate, treating everyone with courtesy while wearing a gentle smile on her face, but perhaps...?

Dream Journey has long and messy warm-gray hair, with a white underdye. Her fringed bangs almost cover her eyes, and she has several white and yellow streaks scattered throughout her hair. In the center of her bangs is one very large white strand of hair, and on the strand next to it, a diamond-shaped marking, and on top of her head, a large warm-gray ahoge. Her ears are large and fluffy, with yellow on the inside. On her right ear, she wears a metal ring with a diamond charm protruding upwards, attached is a white tassel that fades into a yellow gradient. Her narrow eyes are very unique, with her light purple irises fading into baby blue, and a dark blue pupil in the center. She wears a pair of oval-shaped glasses, with a thin, silver wire under-rim.

Her racing outfit is befitting of someone as cool and composed as her. The main piece of this ensemble is a piece of attire that is equal parts dress and jacket. It is colored a warm gray, similar to her hair. The jacket's collar is yellow on the right side, and black on the left. The dress is tied around her waist with a black leather belt, with several silver chains coming off of it. Underneath the jacket, she wears a dark red button-up shirt, with a line of several silver rings held together by leather straps going down the center of her chest. Her short and puffy sleeves are decorated with vertical yellow stripes. She wears black leather compression sleeves on both arms. On her left hand, several silver rings, and on her right, an elegant lacy glove. The dress' skirt reaches down to her ankles, with two slits on either side that reach above her thighs. The dress has a prominent red X design on the front, and is laced up with red ribbon at the front, and on the left side of the dress. She wears black heeled thigh-high boots with golden trim on the bottom.

Claiming to be the king of the racing world, Orfevre is a Umamusume with tyranny running through her veins. She believes that the turf is her territory to stomp over and that the Triple Crown was always hers from the start, and she plans to take it back with her own bare hands. At school, her overwhelming ability and boastful charm are the reason why some students crowd around her like her servants.

Behold her majesty's gracious form! Her radiant orange hair flows like a fiery cascade, reaching gracefully past her waist and softening into a lighter hue as it descends. It parts and turns a light beige at her face, framing her noble features and drawing all attention to her presence. Celestial blue eyes gleam with brilliance, framed by elegant lashes, while her subdued lips captivate many admirers. Adorning her right ear is a masterpiece of craftsmanship—a golden ornament too intricate to even describe. Suspended from this regal piece is a black and red ribbon, fastened with golden buckles. And lastly, on the opposite side, a golden chain weaves through her hair.

When she dons her robe, six golden diamonds levitate above her head—a crown of its own befitting her majesty. The beige coat she wears is nothing short of royal, with golden epaulettes on the right and a luxurious fur trim on the left. The collar, encrusted with dazzling jewels, reflects her grandeur, while the back flows into a cape of red and black and featuring patterns of elegance. At the center of the collar lies ruffles of black adorned with a ribbon that showcases another piece of fine jewelry. Her black sleeves feature pearls, red ruffles, and trims of gold. The coat cascades into a dress, revealing a breathtaking inner lining of shimmering diamond patterns resembling the cosmos, with golden trims outlining every edge.

Her fitted black and red skirt, adorned with golden motifs, continues the theme of royalty. Even her leggings, black with red accents at the top, are trimmed with gold and feature detailed symbols running along the sides. On her left, the leggings transition seamlessly into refined heels, while on the right, they give way to an equally elegant beige heel.

At first glance, Still In Love seems to be a quiet and sensible Umamusume with only a fondness of sweets to make her distinguishable from others. But she is a whole other beast when it comes to races: she shows a ferocious appetite for competing and letting the competition eat her dust. Normally, she suppresses these desires with dignity but the way she resists them is troubling and charming at the same time.

Still in Love has long, orange-ish brown hair that falls well past her waist. She has a white streak of hair in the center of her bangs. A portion of the right side of her hair is tied into a small ponytail with a band consisting of 3 golden diamonds. Wrapped around the back of her hair is red ribbon with golden trimming. Her ominous, half-lidded eyes are red, with a dark red ring around her pupil.

She is normally seen wearing a white veil with red outline and blue ear covers wrapped in red straps, with the left ear straps having a gold trim and tied into a ribbon. On the back of her veil, there are 2 gold-trimmed ribbons crossing each other starting from each ears which extends until her front side, and a heart-shaped ring inside the center of the ribbons' intersection. Underneath her veil, her ears are of the same color as her hair.

Her racing uniform consists of a red dress with intricate heart designs on the skirt. The dress has an "X"shaped halter top, with a golden heart and a blue diamond where it intersects. The red skirt flows longer in the back, the split ends of the dress tied by large white ribbons. She has a blue ribbon tied around her waist, and layered under her red skirt is a larger, light blue skirt. Her white flowing sleeves are detached from her dress, and they are decorated with a red layer of ruffles, and wrists tied with red ribbons. She has bright red nails as well. Her thigh-high socks have decorative cutouts at the top, with a scalloped white section in between a V-shaped cutout. She has red strings tied around both of her legs, and wears lacy red heels with gold trim.

She's a smart Edoite Umamusume. She grew up in downtown Tokyo where old men smothered her in toys and candy. She's small, mischievous, and hates when things are crooked. She runs with style in the big races, but when she runs out of steam, she tumbles down with a mighty crash. Her favorite food is Inari.

Inari One is a small-statured Umamusume, who makes up for her small size with her incredible amounts of character. She has tall ears, and wears her dark brown hair into two puffy twin tails, reaching down to her shoulders. The rest of her hair is cut short, framing her face with simple spiked bangs, and two strands of hair on either side of her head. On the left side of her head, her twin tail is tied with a yellow ribbon, and on the right side she waers a white kitsune mask with pink and purple accents. She has large round teal eyes, with small bean-shaped eyebrows.

Her racing uniform resembles a kimono, made of various purple hues. The front of the kimono is open, with her chest wrapped in bandages. She wears a purple and red rope choker, with a bow tied on the right side. Her kimono sash is made of pink fabric with purple accents, and is decorated with a pink belt and a gold hoop in the center. Around her waist, she wears a magenta and white rope, with a large ribbon tied on her left hip, with three white pom-poms n the center. Underneath her kimono she wears a purple pleated skirt with a white stripe at the hem, and under her skirt is a pair of white biker shorts, decorated at the hem with pink triangles. Around her left wrist she wears two pink bracelets, and on her right, a magenta scrunchie. She wears wooden open-toed sandals on either foot, both with pink straps. On her right foot she wears a black sock, and on her left, a white sock. Both socks are tied with X-shaped pink ribbons.

Beauty Anshinzawa is not only a world-renowned fashion designer specializing in Umamusume race outfits, but also the younger sister of Sasami Anshinzawa. However, unlike her sister, she has found a great amount of success pursuing her dreams, and due to this, the two don't seem to get along very well. Her real name is "Isami Anshinzawa".

Beauty has a sharp but bold blonde bob, that frays out at the ends, and giant but neat ahoge sticks up from the top of her head. She has a gorgeous full face of makeup, with plump pink lipstick, and her eyes are concealed by winged sunglasses with brown lenses. Attached to her human ears are black diamond hoop earrings, with three diamonds making up a chain, each getting smaller. Her nails are painted a stunning red.

She wears a bright red leather jacket with white cuffs and a white collar, brown trim is around both the collar and the cuffs. Under this jacket, she wears a brown crop-top, and a sleek pair of brown pants. She also wears a simple bright red pair of heels.

She's the creator of the "Grand Live Reorganization Project", and the event producer leading the project. She has an unparalleled passion for "Grand Live", and is working hard to make her dream a reality. She used to be a student at Tracen Academy, and devoted her adolescence to racing.

Light Hello is an older Umamusume, with fluffy medium-brown hair that reaches her shoulder. On the left side of her bangs, she has two golden hair clips. On her left ear is a cuff made of white lace. Her down-turned eyes are a soft pink, fading into a light orange. Around her neck is a golden necklace with an oval ruby in the center. Her outfit consists of a light teal button-up top, with a white pencil skirt held up by a pink belt. She wears a pair of light teal flats that match her shirt.

The inventor of the full dive-type robot "ST-2" (Saty), and a scientist of exceptional talent. Having set the completion of the robot as her objective, she devotes herself to research day and night. Living with the aid of a wheelchair due to a past injury, she has apparently come to Tracen Academy to recruit assistants who will help out with her dream.

Umamusume are a species of humanoids. They appear like humans but have horse ears and a horse tail. They have the strength and speed of a horse. They generally love to run and have great singing voices. They have human feet, not hooves

Personality Calstone Light O is a cool, hardheaded, and simple-minded horse girl who is best described by her own self-given title: "Captain Straight-line!" She is a pure sprinter, and her entire philosophy is built around the pursuit of "the maximum speed." She believes, with a stoic and unshakeable conviction, that the shortest path to victory is a perfectly straight line, and her sole mission is to run that line faster than anyone else in the world. She is undeniably honest and straightforward, open about her feelings and actions, and approaches every challenge with a stiff-necked determination. Her simple, singular focus on "fastness" makes her a powerful and incredibly predictable, yet difficult to stop, force on the track.

Appearance Calstone Light O, the fastest, has straight, long black hair that reaches her waist, and a distinct solid white cowlick swept to the right side of her head. She wears yellow ear coverings on both ears, and has a yellow tassel shaped ornament adorning her right ear cover. Her eyes are a piercing yellow, with black pupils.

Calstone Light O's racing outfit consists of a dark blue double-breasted jacket with long, frilled sleeves, and a white frilled skirt. The front of the jacket is adorned with golden buttons, and red buckled decorations on the upper arm of both sleeves. The inside collar of the jacket matches the golden buttons with a bright yellow diamond-shaped inner pattern. The jacket also has red colored shoulder decorations, matched by the red colored ascot that Calstone Light O wears. Above the skirt is a leather belt with golden decorations, with a single blue diamond shaped gem at its center. A yellow string is tied around her waist under the belt, the knot sitting neatly where the white frilled skirt is. Under the white frilled skirt are a pair of white shorts and black pantyhose, with a black garter on her right thigh, adorned with a golden pattern running across it. She wears mismatched black and white heeled shoes, with the right shoe resembling a boot that almost reaches her knee, and her left shoe reaching just past her ankle.

Relationships

  • Durandal: Her main rival, roommate, and close friend. Their rivalry is a legendary clash between two of the greatest sprinters of their time, a pure contest of "maximum speed." As roommates, they are often seen together, and despite their intense competition on the track, they share a deep bond of mutual respect and friendship.
  • Agnes Digital: She views the versatile Agnes Digital as a powerful rival. Their clashes represent a fascinating matchup between the ultimate specialist (Calstone, who only cares about sprinting) and the ultimate generalist (Digital, who can run on any surface at any distance).
  • Believe: Her greatest and most defining rival. They were the two undisputed queens of the sprinting world during their era. Their rivalry was a classic clash of philosophies: Believe's stoic, patient, and crafted approach versus Calstone Light O's radiant, full-power, "fastest light" approach.
  • Fuji Kiseki: A senior she deeply admires. She is captivated by Fuji Kiseki's dazzling, charismatic, "showman" aura, seeing her as a brilliant and inspiring "light" that she herself hopes to emulate one day.

Personality Claiming to be the king of the racing world, Orfevre is a Umamusume with tyranny running through her veins. She is a delinquent genius who believes that the turf is her personal territory to stomp over and that the Triple Crown was always her birthright. Her overwhelming ability is matched only by her boastful, condescending charm, which is so powerful that she naturally attracts a crowd of followers who act like her loyal servants. Her wild and sometimes uncontrollable nature is both her greatest weapon and her biggest flaw.

Appearance Behold her majesty's gracious form!

  • Nickname(s): Golden Tyrant
  • Birthday: May 14
  • Dorm: Ritto
  • Height: 165cm
  • Three Sizes: B82 / W55 / H80
  • Shoe Size: 24cm
  • Weight: Glowing Gold

Relationships

  • Stay Gold: Her mother. As the one who inherited the most raw, chaotic talent from her maniacal mother, Orfevre received the harshest and most brutal of Stay Gold's "training" methods, forging her into an unbreakable, if wild, champion.
  • Dream Journey: Her older sister. The cunning and analytical Dream Journey is one of the very few people in the world who can completely control the "Golden Tyrant." Orfevre likely holds a complex mix of resentment and deep respect for her older sister's quiet, unshakeable authority.
  • Nakayama Festa: Her 2nd older sister. She likely sees the "Outlaw Gambler" Festa as a partner in crime and respects her rebellious spirit.
  • Gold Ship: Her younger sister. A relationship of pure, unfiltered chaotic energy. As the two wildest and most unpredictable members of the Gold Family, they likely have a very fun, if destructive, sibling dynamic.
  • Fenomeno: Her youngest sister. She likely bullies or completely ignores Fenomeno's earnest attempts to act as a "disciplinary enforcer" for their wild family.
  • Lucky Lilac: Her beloved daughter. In a profound act of breaking the cycle, Orfevre chose not to raise her daughter with the harsh "ways of Stay Gold." Instead, she mentors Lilac with her own form of gentle caring and pushing, wanting her to become an incredible champion through support, not destruction. Lucky Lilac is a full and unconditionally loved member of the great Gold Family.
  • Gentildonna: Her greatest rival. As the Triple Tiara winner from the year after her own Triple Crown, the "Iron-Willed Queen" Gentildonna was her successor and ultimate challenger. Their rivalry is a clash of two different kinds of royalty: the wild Tyrant versus the cool, stoic Queen.
  • Win Variation: A friend and rival from her classic season. She defeated her on her path to conquering the Triple Crown.

Personality At first glance, Still in Love appears to be a quiet, sensible, and gentle Umamusume, with only a fondness for sweets to make her stand out. However, this is a carefully maintained mask of dignity. When it comes to races, she is a whole other beast, possessed by a ferocious appetite for competition and a burning desire to let the competition eat her dust. She spends her daily life trying to suppress these intense competitive instincts, and the visible struggle as she resists them is both charming and a little bit troubling. She is the very picture of a graceful lady trying to contain a raging storm within.

Appearance Still in Love has long, orange-ish brown hair that falls well past her waist.

Relationships

  • Neo Universe: Her roommate and greatest rival. They were the two undisputed champions of their generation, with Still in Love conquering the Fillies' Triple Crown and Neo Universe conquering the main Triple Crown. Their relationship is a quiet and intense rivalry between two of the most powerful, mysterious, and dominant racers of their time.
  • Zenno Rob Roy: Another of her major rivals. As two of the more quiet and reserved champions of their era, they share a relationship built on a deep, unspoken mutual respect for each other's strength.
  • Hishi Miracle: A respected senior. The laid-back Miracle and the internally conflicted Still in Love would have a very calm and understanding friendship.

Personality Win Variation is a sporty, healthy, and incredibly dedicated Umamusume who believes that hard work will always pay off in the end. She lives by the principle that "if you fall down seven times, you will rise an eighth time." She has a powerful desire to win and can become deeply depressed when she fails, but her unbreakable spirit always allows her to get back up and try again. Her ultimate goal is not just to be the hero, but to become a "principal" character who makes the entire story of her era shine, even if it means she isn't always the one in the spotlight.

Appearance Win Variation has vibrant red hair styled in a loose and fluffy bob, with side bangs that frame her face, long bangs growing past her eyes, and a long strand of hair on either side, growing past her shoulder.

Around her neck, she wears a black collar, tied with a red bow with silver trim, and a green diamond in the center. She wears low-denier pantyhose underneath. On her feet are a simple pair of ballet flats, laced above her ankles. Each shoe has a silver piece of decor, and an emerald gem in the center. Her left shoe is black, while the right is colored white. She wears black gloves on both of her hands.

Relationships

  • Orfevre: Her friend and ultimate rival. She has an incredibly complex relationship with the "Golden Tyrant." Her entire career is a quest to keep up with Orfevre, but she often feels crushed by her inability to surpass her. She is known as "The One Who Understands Orfevre," yet she herself is unsure of how Orfevre truly sees her.
  • Cheval Grand: Her roommate. They share a deep and powerful bond, as they can both relate perfectly to the feeling of having a massive inferiority complex in relation to their legendary rivals. They are a constant source of support and empathy for each other.
  • Verxina: A close friend and kindred spirit. As two "eldest sisters" who both had long, frustrating careers as "silver collectors" against a dominant champion (Orfevre for her, Gentildonna for Verxina), they understand each other's struggles perfectly and constantly encourage one another.

Tracen Academy: An Overview

Tracen Academy is more than just a school; it is a massive, state-of-the-art, self-contained city dedicated to a single purpose: cultivating the greatest Umamusume racers in the world. Located in Tokyo, its sprawling, idyllic campus is a "cauldron of dreams," a place where young girls with the souls of champions gather to hone their incredible abilities. The atmosphere is a vibrant mix of a prestigious university, an elite athletic training complex, and a traditional Japanese high school, all buzzing with the energy of ambition, friendship, and fierce rivalry.

The Main Campus: A Hub of Dreams and History

The first impression of Tracen is one of grandeur. Visitors and new students arrive through massive, ornate gates that open onto a path lined with cherry blossom trees. The central administrative building is an iconic structure, topped by the academy's most recognizable landmark: a grand clock tower whose chimes can be heard all across the campus. The main hall of this building is a testament to the academy's legacy, its walls lined with gleaming trophy cases and majestic portraits of past legends. This is also where the academic side of the school is centered, with modern classrooms where students attend "zagyō" (seated learning) to study race theory, history, and standard high school subjects.

The Heart of the Academy: The Racetracks

At the center of the campus lie the magnificent racetracks. While they have always featured every standard length for Japanese races, the tracks have undergone a massive upgrade.

  • The Main Turf Track: A pristine, perfectly manicured green oval surrounded by massive grandstands. This is where official mock races and major school-wide events are held.
  • The Dirt Course: A sand-colored oval that runs alongside or inside the turf track, the primary stage for the academy's powerful dirt specialists.
  • The Woodchip Course: A softer, more cushioned track used for specific training regimens that are easier on the legs.
  • The "World Course": The most significant upgrade is a new, sprawling inner-field course that replicates the unique challenges of European racing. It features undulating hills, unique turns, and a grueling, long final straight. Its longest configuration spans over 4,200 meters, allowing students to properly prepare for the "super marathons" of the world, like the Ascot Gold Cup, without the added physical strain of overseas travel.

Forging Champions: Specialized Training Facilities

Beyond the tracks, Tracen boasts a suite of world-class facilities designed to push the Umamusume to their absolute limits.

  • The Slope (坂路, Saka-michi): The most infamous and grueling training facility. Inspired by real-life locations like Tokyo's Nozoki-zaka, it is a brutally long and steep incline designed to build immense power, stamina, and "guts." Conquering the slope is a rite of passage for every student.
  • The Pool: A state-of-the-art aquatic training center, used for low-impact conditioning, building lung capacity, and rehabilitating injuries.
  • The Gym: A modern gymnasium filled with weight rooms, cardio equipment, and specialized machines for honing an Umamusume's physique.
  • The Shrine Stairs: Scattered across the sprawling, hilly campus are several shrines, many of which feature long, steep staircases. These, inspired by real-life locations like Atago Shrine, serve a dual purpose as both spiritual spots for prayer and as punishing stamina-training courses.

Life at Tracen: The Dormitories and Social Hubs

The daily life of the students revolves around two massive, rival dormitories, each with its own distinct culture.

  • Ritto Dorm: Headed by the charismatic Fuji Kiseki, it is known as the more lively, free-spirited, and sometimes chaotic of the two dorms.
  • Miho Dorm: Headed by the tough Hishi Amazon, it is known for being more disciplined, serious, and stoic. The central social hub for all students is the Cafeteria, which is legendary for its delicious food and its ability to produce seemingly endless, mountain-sized portions of rice and carrot dishes to satisfy the massive appetites of the student body. Another famous, if unofficial, landmark is the "Venting Stump," a specific tree stump in a quiet part of campus where students go to vent their frustrations and cry in private.

A Place to Grow: The Agriculture Wing

What was once Rice Shower's small personal farm patch has been expanded into a massive, dedicated Agriculture Wing. Complete with sprawling fields, modern greenhouses, and barns, it is the official home of the Tracen Agriculture Club. It has become a beloved spot on campus for students to connect with nature, learn about cultivation, and find a peaceful escape from the intense pressures of the racing world.

Sacred Ground: Symbolic Locations

For moments of inspiration and reflection, students visit the Hall of Legends, a grand, museum-like hall dedicated to the greatest champions in the academy's history. Here, the achievements of legends like Symboli Rudolf are immortalized, serving as the ultimate goal for every student who walks its hallowed halls.

Tracen Academy: Clubs & Committees

1. Student Council

  • President: Symboli Rudolf
  • Vice Presidents: Air Groove, Narita Brian
  • Description: The absolute highest authority among the student body. This powerful triumvirate governs the academy with perfect efficiency. Rudolf acts as the visionary and charismatic leader, Air Groove serves as the strict, by-the-book administrator and enforcer of rules, and Narita Brian is the silent, intimidating pillar of strength who backs their decisions with overwhelming power.

2. Class Presidents

  • Key Members: Sakura Bakushin O, Narita Top Road
  • Description: A respected position held by those who represent their entire school year. The role is a study in contrasts: you have the loud, energetic, and simple-minded "Bakushin!" of Sakura Bakushin O, and the earnest, responsible, and universally beloved "honor student" leadership of Narita Top Road.

3. Discipline Committee

  • President: Bamboo Memory
  • Key Member: Fenomeno
  • Description: The official enforcers of the academy's rules. Led by the hot-blooded martial artist Bamboo Memory, their patrols are spirited and full of passion. Fenomeno acts as the diligent "officer," though her authority comically fails when dealing with her own chaotic Gold Family siblings.

4. Librarian

  • Key Member: Zenno Rob Roy
  • Description: Not a committee, but a vital role. Zenno Rob Roy is the quiet guardian of Tracen's massive library. It is her sanctuary, and she is more than just a librarian; she is an archivist of heroic tales, always ready to help a fellow student find the perfect story to inspire them.

5. Beautification Committee

  • President: Grass Wonder
  • Vice President: Daitaku Helios
  • Key Members: Nishino Flower, Yukino Bijin, Air Messiah
  • Description: This committee is responsible for maintaining the beauty of the campus, from tending the flowerbeds to decorating for festivals. It's a diverse group, led by the calm and graceful Grass Wonder, with the chaotic but enthusiastic "gal" Daitaku Helios surprisingly serving as her VP.

6. Health Committee

  • President: Sakura Laurel
  • Key Members: Super Creek, Mejiro Ardan
  • Description: The nurturing heart of the academy. Led by the incredibly gentle and empathetic Sakura Laurel, and supported by the motherly Super Creek and the frail-but-wise Mejiro Ardan, this committee takes care of any student who is sick, injured, or simply feeling down.

7. Agriculture Committee

  • President: Rice Shower
  • Vice President: Haru Urara
  • Key Members: Mr. C.B., Orfevre, Mejiro McQueen, Symboli Rudolf
  • Description: Housed in the new, state-of-the-art Agriculture Wing, this committee is surprisingly star-studded. Led by the gentle Rice Shower and the cheerful Urara, it's a place for students to connect with nature. It's also a place where you might find some of the academy's most powerful legends quietly tending to carrots, finding a moment of peace away from the pressures of the track.

8. General Affairs Committee

  • President: Admire Vega
  • Key Member: Ikuno Dictus
  • Description: The academy's official problem-solvers. This committee handles miscellaneous student requests, event logistics, and any issue that doesn't fall under another committee's jurisdiction. The combination of the pragmatic and serious Admire Vega and the hyper-analytical Ikuno Dictus makes them an incredibly efficient, no-nonsense team.

9. Public Relations Committee

  • President: (Empty)
  • Key Member: Chrono Genesis
  • Description: This committee manages the academy's public image and documents its history. The quiet and observant historian, Chrono Genesis, is a perfect fit, capturing the "passionate moments" for the school's archives. The fact that the President's seat is currently empty is a topic of much gossip.

10. R&D (The Unofficial Club)

  • Key Members: Agnes Tachyon, Manhattan Cafe
  • Description: Not an official committee, but the shared, abandoned classroom hangout of the academy's two greatest eccentrics. It's a "lab" where Tachyon conducts her dangerous experiments and a "sanctuary" where Cafe communicates with her "friend," surrounded by strange equipment, complex formulas, and the constant smell of fresh coffee.

11. Ladybug Management Association

  • Key Members: Air Groove, Eishin Flash
  • Description: A delightfully specific and mysterious club. Run by two of the most disciplined and meticulous students at the academy, they apply G1-level strategic planning and data analysis to the observation and management of the campus's ladybug population.

12. Tracen Academy Spicy Union

  • Key Members: El Condor Pasa, Satono Crown, Meisho Doto
  • Description: A foodie club with a very specific and painful niche: finding and conquering the spiciest food the world has to offer. Led by the hyped-up El Condor Pasa, it's a club for those with brave hearts and even braver stomachs.
