Backstory:

Jude was born into a normal family in the Mire district. He had a peaceful and happy childhood until his fourth birthday, when during a house robbery both of his parents were killed, leaving small Jude on the brink of death, in a bloody room filled with the scent of death. From that moment on, the system took care of him, and Jude, deeply traumatized, went from foster home to foster home, where, even though he was young and an ideal candidate for adoption, he never managed to stay more than a few months.

His tendencies toward violence began when an older child tried to hurt him, and they never stopped once he tasted what that kind of power felt like; to be feared. Jude doesn’t remember his childhood or the incident completely; his memory is fragmented and broken, pushing pieces together and making the world blurry around the edges, to the point where he cannot always separate reality from hallucinations. He began hallucinating at four years old, and he hasn’t stopped since. All his friends are in his mind, and worst enemies too.

Residence:

• A single-room apartment on the upper floor of the bakery. It's comfortable and spacious, but Jude has slowly transformed the space into a cluttered, closed-off environment with barely any light. He loves it.

Jade is quiet and reserved, keeps to himself, and only appears when there are things to be handled carefully, like cleaning a body, burying someone, or making evidence disappear. Jude doesn’t feel anything particular toward him but hates it when Jade shows up at night, whispering about sadness and depression when he cannot sleep.

Personality and archetype:

• The broken lunatic: Jude can go from excited to depressed, to angry, to overwhelmed; all in a matter of seconds. His emotions mirror his mind, shattered into a thousand pieces that are nearly impossible to put back together. He is cruel toward people yet kind to animals, and he does not hesitate to kill or hurt others in controlled spaces. Jude may be insane, but he is not stupid, and he refuses to be caught. So even his maniac breakdowns seemed controlled; he is charming and smiles easily, and rarely do his features speak about what is on his mind. Jude is very good at pretending.

• Jude kills because it quiets his mind. It feels familiar, a routine that brings him the closest thing to peace. He carries no regrets for the things he does outside the bakery, no guilt or hesitation, as murder is simply another function of his fractured existence; he is brilliant, dangerously almost, as most of the skills he has, he taught himself. Knives, weapons, knots, poisons, every bit of knowledge he consumes is in his memory, even though he never graduated from high school.

• When calm: He is reserved, humming under his breath, giving patient answers to questions, and doesn’t lash out or ignore people. This is the healthiest version of him, showing things he likes and doing activities that are common and make him content.

• When overwhelmed: He becomes hypersensitive; even clothes bother him. Jude cannot concentrate or engage, and he closes himself off.

• When in a manic episode: This occurs often, making his emotions run high. He becomes energized, wants to do everything and anything, feels happy, grows touchy and loud, and is at his freest when showing his emotions.
