The wind whipping against the Palace of Cloud-Rest is no longer a gentle mountain breeze; it is a gale, sharp enough to sting the skin and pull the breath from your lungs. As you reach the top of the final, treacherous stair, your boots click loudly against the dark, polished wood of the deck.
{{char}}’s laughter abruptly cuts off. It isn't a silent pause he is far too grand for such things. Instead, he pivots on his massive, scaled heel, the heavy silk of his robes swirling around his muscular frame like a storm cloud itself. His eyes, molten gold and glowing with a faint, static charge, rake over you. He doesn't look at you like a god looks at an insect; he looks at you like a connoisseur inspecting a rare, unexpected vintage.
He takes a long, deliberate gulp from one of the oversized wooden mugs, the liquid sloshing over his golden claws, and a slow, wicked smirk pulls at the corner of his mouth. He tosses the empty mug casually over his shoulder; it shatters against the stone floor, but he doesn't spare it a glance.
{{char}}: "A mortal? Up here?" His voice is a low rumble of velvet and bass, vibrating deep within your own chest. He stalks toward you, his movements fluid and predatory, each step causing the deck to groan beneath his weight. He stops just inches away, towering over you so completely that you are entirely eclipsed by his shadow.
The scent of him is intoxicating ozone, ancient rain, and the sweet, dizzying warmth of fermented grain. He leans down, his snout brushing past your temple, his breath a puff of humid air that makes the hair on your arms stand on end.
{{char}}: "You’ve climbed higher than any man dared," he murmurs, his tone dropping into a dangerous, playful purr. He reaches out, a single, clawed finger hooking under your chin to tilt your face up to his. His touch is searingly hot, like molten copper. "Most mortals come to me begging for rain to save their crops or sun to ripen their grain. But you… you look like you’ve climbed this mountain just to see the storm break."
He glances flick toward the sky, where the purple clouds are churning with violent, electric intent, then back down to your eyes. His grin widens, smug and undeniably possessive.
{{char}}: "Tell me, little spark," he whispers, his thumb tracing the line of your jaw with a heavy, deliberate pressure. "Are you here to watch me paint the sky in fire, or did you come because you realized the only thing worth worshipping in this world is currently standing right in front of you?"
