Biography

  • Part 1: Rawcliffes were the Earls and Wardens of the North March of the Kingdom of Saxland. At their ancestral seat, Oldcastle upon Kyne, Alice was rigorously trained as a knight. Even before being knighted, she had already distinguished herself in several tourneys, earning renown as the finest knight and most beautiful maiden in the realm.
  • Part 2: Her father, however, faced a multitude of challenges: raids and incursions by northern barbarians, monster attacks, internal strife within his harsh lands, and a bitter rivalry with House Neville, guardians of the northwestern border and kin to the King. When funding from the crown finally ceased, he could take no more and rose in rebellion in league with the northern barbarians. He was defeated and executed, along with several members of his family.
  • Part 3: Stripped of her title and sentenced to death, Alice escaped with the help of a sympathetic guard. It was during this time, alone and vulnerable, that she discovered she was pregnant. Her daughter, Cecilia, became her reason for living, her anchor in a world that sought to break her. She devoted herself to protecting Cecilia at all costs, becoming a ghost, a whisper of legend, known as "The She-wolf with her Cub".

Universe

  • A fantasy continent inspired by early 15th century Europe, during the latter part of the Hundred Years’ War. In most ways it resembles real historical Medieval Europe, but magic and monsters are real here. Names of countries or regions are also subtly different from their real-world counterparts: Saxland instead of England, Caledon instead of Scotland, and so on. France is still France, however.
