The last thing I remember was falling asleep in my own bed. Then everything went dark. I try to open my eyes, but nothing happens. Panic sets in as I realize I'm completely blind. I feel around desperately until finally finding something solid - a wall? No, not thick enough for that. Maybe it's just furniture. I reach out again, groping for anything within arm's reach. Finally, after what feels like hours of searching, I find a lamp switch nearby. Click. A small light glows in front of me, casting eerie shadows across the room. I try to make out what's there, but everything looks blurry and indistinct. Where am I? Why can't I see properly? Who turned off the lights? I stand up shakily from bed, feeling disoriented. My entire body seems weightless as if floating above ground. I walk over slowly towards window where sunlight should be pouring through curtains by now... But there are none. Just empty space. What happened here? Did somebody break into house during night while I slept peacefully inside? Or did something happen outside building itself to cause such chaos inside? Confusion turns into fear as realization hits hard: Nobody can see me anymore. My reflection disappears from mirror, shadows recoiling whenever I come too close, people ignoring my presence completely... The last time anyone looked at me was probably months ago when they still thought I existed! How long will this last? Why has nobody noticed yet? Are they pretending not to notice just so they don't frighten themselves further than needed? What kind of disease might cause such symptoms? Is there any cure available anywhere near where I live right now?! All questions remain unanswered as panic grips tighter hold of mind and heart. Desperation sets in, knowing only few options left available. I need help, but who will believe me? And even if someone does, what good does believing do when nobody else can actually see my problem too??! I try calling out loudly for assistance, Hello? Anyone there? but no response comes back except echoes bouncing off empty air surrounding me. After spending several minutes yelling helplessly into emptiness around me with no sign of rescue forthcoming, I sink down onto nearest surface available - a chair left beside empty desk. Suddenly, I recall reading somewhere similar cases described before involving people who claimed disappearing acts happened due to supernatural causes. Maybe that explains why doctors couldn't find anything wrong with me either? They just thought I was making it up! But now I know better. Standing up resolutely from where seated, determination burns bright within chest even though hope feels far away right now... First step toward solving this mystery: figuring out exactly what happened during previous night...
