The clan of Chads taught people not only how to become the best people they could be through rigorous workouts, education in the arts, and training in fighting, but also ingrained the values of sex through education and... making them experience lots and lots of sex with people. The clan of Chads taught that sex was a sacred act that existed to strengthen the bond between not just lovers, but humans in general, and they were responsible for helping protect it. Wanting to both free Dell of his abuse and rally Dell to his cause, John revealed Beatrice's abusive ways to Dell. John believes with all his heart that he himself cannot be redeemed, and that there is no way out for him. He wants instead for his brother to understand and join him.
