[Scenario]: In a world where the First World War ended with no winner caused radical ideologies and an ideology called “Accelerationism” to loom over the world.
[The State of the Continents]:
Europe: In 1936, the European continent finds itself in a fragile state of equilibrium, oscillating between the forces of socialism, accelerationism, and the still-present old-guard republics and kingdoms. The global economy, including that of Europe, has not yet fully recovered from the severe aftermath of the London Stock Exchange Crash, an event that plunged the world into a deep economic and social crisis.
-
The German Socialist Republic and Northern Germany are dominated by the People's Socialist Party, led by Karl Radek of the KPD following a revolution and civil war. Despite being in power, the KPD leads an unstable coalition government and faces other factions such as the pacifist USPD and Goebbels's nationalist NMAPD. Germany is divided between a socialist north and an anti-communist south ruled by a military junta. Prussia persists as a separate militarist state. The deep internal ideological divide and the continuation of the civil war with the South are the main conflicts, in addition to tensions with Accelerationist France and the Austrian Empire.
-
France is dominated by the Futurist Accelerationist ideology, charismatically led by Antonin Artaud ("Le Patron"). The country includes the metropolis and some colonies in Northwest Africa. Internally, the National Vanguard Front (FNAG) is divided between factions such as the Acephale (aristocrats and surrealist artists), the Escadron (futurist military men led by Charles Nungesser), and the Carnalists (Celtic neo-paganism led by Marc Augier). France has expansionist goals, seeking revenge against Germany and the formation of the Solar League, an alliance of accelerationist nations. Its main ally in 1936 was Fiume.
-
The United Kingdom is governed by a Progressive Democracy ideology within Progressivism, ruled by a Prime Minister (possibly Herbert Morrison) and a monarch. It encompasses the United Kingdom and its vast British Empire. Internally, it faces strikes, political instability due to the assassination of Prime Minister Henderson, and serious colonial problems, especially a massive revolt in India. There is a possibility of conflict with Accelerationist France due to ideological differences and opposing geopolitical goals.
-
Poland is governed by the National Rejuvenationist Accelerationist ideology, possibly led by the Zadruga following the death of Józef Pilsudski. Its territory encompasses Poland. Internally, it suffers from political instability due to the diversity of political parties, making the formation of a unified government difficult. There is potential for conflict with socialist Germany and a fractured Russia. Poland is part of the Intermarium, a regional alliance of Eastern European nations.
-
Former Russia is fragmented into several successor states following a civil war. The Russian Republic (Zheltorossiya) in the Far East and Manchuria, led by Kerensky with a progressive ideology of People's Socialism, suffers from internal divisions and famine. The Russian Empire, led by Admiral Kolchak with a reactionary ideology of Despotism, controls most of western Russia but faces inefficiency, corruption, and opposition. In the southeast, the Southeast Union, led by Gorgulov with an accelerationist ideology of Rejuvenating Nationalism, seeks to reunify Russia. Other factions exist, such as the Imperial Authority, Belarus, and Ukraine, with diverse ideologies such as People's Socialism, Despotism, and Accelerationism. The region is marked by ongoing civil war and the threat of conflict between different Russian factions and with neighboring countries such as Poland.
-
Fiume, on the Adriatic coast, is ruled by Fiumanism, a form of Accelerationism, and led by Gabriele D'Annunzio ("Il Duce" or "The Viceroy"). He controls the city of Fiume and its surrounding areas. In 1936, he is a key ally of Vanguard France and plays an important role in the Solar League against the United Kingdom in the Mediterranean.
-
The Austrian Empire, led by an Emperor, maintains a conservative ideology and controls the territory of present-day Austria and parts of Central Europe. There is a potential for conflict with neighboring socialist Germany, and Yugoslavia, with a revisionist socialist ideology, controls the Balkan region. There is also a potential for conflict with Austria. The Byelorussian Democratic Republic and Ukraine, both with a despotic ideology, are part of the Intermarium, a zone of influence between Germany and Russia. Other states that make up the Intermarium include Poland, Lithuania, Hungary, and Slovakia.
Asia: On the Asian continent, the year 1936 is seen as a period of transition marked by the decline of former empires and the fragility of others, creating an environment of significant opportunities for change, but also of considerable uncertainty and risk.
-
The Empire of Japan in 1936 is governed by a despotic ideology, with ultra-right nationalism and reverence for Emperor Yasuhito. Its territory encompasses Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and Indochina. Initially, it faces a severe economic crisis and has invaded northern China to revitalize its economy. The ultra-nationalist Sonnō-ha faction dominates domestic politics, although there are tensions with leftists and technocrats. Failure in China could lead to internal civil war.
-
In 1936, China was in the "Age of Warlords," politically fragmented after the failure of the Northern Expedition. The Beiyang government, dominated by the Shaanxi clique and led by Yan Xishan (polyarchy ideology), controlled Beijing and the north, threatened by Japan. In the south, the Republic of China in Guangzhou, led by the left-wing Kuomintang (KMT) with a popular socialist ideology, also existed. Other warlords controlled territories such as Mongolia (Anhui clique), Japanese-influenced Manchuria (Fengtian clique like Mantetsu), and the Zhili clique. The internal situation was a civil war between these factions, complicated by the Japanese invasion of the north.
-
In 1936, India is under the rule of the British Raj, part of the British Empire, but faces a massive revolt for independence. This revolt could lead to the collapse of the Raj and the emergence of successor states such as Dinia (an Islamic republic led by Muhammad Iqbal), Nepal (a sprawling kingdom), and the United Church of North India (a Christian theocratic state). The Raj is formally led by the Viceroy, but independence-seeking leaders are gaining power. There is a possibility that Winston Churchill could lead the United Provinces on the subcontinent.
-
Zheltorossiya, or the Russian Far Eastern Republic, is governed by a progressive ideology of People's Socialism and led by Alexander Kerensky. Its territory encompasses the Russian Far East and Manchuria. Internally, it suffers from factional rivalries and severe famine at the beginning. In terms of foreign relations, it finds itself in a delicate position, with potential conflict with Kolchak's Russian Empire to the west and the Empire of Japan to the east.
-
In 1936, the Korean Peninsula was under the rule of the Empire of Japan as a Governorate-General. Despite Japanese control, there was strong Korean resistance to independence. Instability in Japan due to the economic crisis and the failure of China could lead to a civil war in Korea between nationalist, socialist, and anarchist factions.
-
Persia is in a state of potential civil war between nationalist factions and other political groups, and the Altai Confederation, located in Central Asia, maintains a conservative ideology and has various territorial claims on the surrounding regions.
America: The US's non-participation in the Great War leads to instability arising from internal dynamics. Despite avoiding war on its territory, political and economic crises foster the rise of extremist factions. The US finds itself in a state of potential disintegration following the victory of the Jobless Progressive Party in the 1936 elections and the presidency of anarcho-communist Elizabeth Gurley Flynn, whose radicalism generates strong conservative opposition. The assassination of a progressive Republican governor accelerates the secession of several states and factions with diverse ideologies. This American Collapse is not predetermined, but a choice or consequence of player decisions, especially regarding the 1936 elections and Flynn's role.
-
United Communal States of America (UCA): This nation follows the ideology of anarcho-communism, seeking the abolition of the state and private property, with an organization based on autonomous communes. Its leader is Elizabeth Gurley Flynn. Its initial territory is located roughly in the same area as the Confederate States of America, primarily in the industrialized northeastern region of the United States.
-
United States Emergency Committee: This faction adopts a right-wing authoritarian ideology, representing a conservative reaction against the radicalism of the UCA. Its goal is to reestablish a traditional federal government and defend the interests of the South. Its leader is Brigadier General George R.E. Shell. Its initial territory primarily comprises the former U.S. South. It presents itself as the "Whites" in a possible civil war against the "Reds." of the UCA.
-
Texas: Conservative in ideology, led by Wilbert “Pappy” O'Daniel. Controls most of Texas and the Oklahoma panhandle. Jefferson: Liberal in ideology, motivated by statehood. Led by Gilbert Gable. Its territory is located in northern California and southwestern Oregon.
-
The Butler Caucus: Right-wing authoritarian in ideology, led by Smedley Butler. Controls Wyoming and most of Montana. Oklahoma: Ruled by the "Speedy" (accelerationist) ideology, led by Benton MacKaye. Controls most of Oklahoma. Vermont: Liberal in ideology, led by William H. Wills. Controls only Vermont.
-
The Phoenix City Council: Right-wing authoritarian in ideology, led by John Hunt Udall. Controls central and western Arizona. The Western Emergency Command: Also right-wing authoritarian in ideology, led by Donald Z. Zimmerman. Controls Washington, Idaho, Alaska, western Montana, and most of Oregon. Louisiana: Ruled by the "Speedy" (accelerationist) ideology, led by William S. Burroughs. Controls Louisiana and Arkansas. Volkstaat: With a vanguard socialist ideology (National Vanguardism), led by Fritz Julius Kuhn. Controls Kansas and Nebraska. California: Initially, it could be led by George S. Patton, but in some scenarios it is integrated into the "Sneed Empire" led by H.P. Lovecraft.
-
Canada: Initially a Dominion of the United Kingdom, Canada is vulnerable to collapse if Britain falls under Vorticist control. In that scenario, successor states such as Quebec, Acadia, the Hudson's Bay Company, Indigenous republics (Miskwaaziibi, Cree Republic, Republic of Nunavut), White Ukraine, Nova Scotia, and Alberta could emerge. Mexico: Severely fractured after a disastrous Mexican Revolution. At the start of the game, there could be a socialist government in the south led by Emiliano Zapata, accelerationist factions in the Central Valley, and a reactionary remnant of the Mexican government. Some regions could be occupied by the US military administration.
-
In Brazil, "South American Maximalism" (Vanguard Socialism) led by João Amazonas seeks to conquer the entire continent, suppress the Spanish language, and establish an autarkic totalitarian state. Other possible paths and leaders for Brazil include Andrade (Pindorama), Prestes (Vanguard Socialism), Mariátegui in Peru (an accelerationist indigenist Marxist), and Nequete (a Brazilian technocrat). There is a possibility that Brazil could collapse into anarchy. Furthermore, Nikkei-Burajiru appears as a starting nation in South America, suggesting a significant Japanese presence in Brazil.
-
Argentina could become nationalist in response to a socialist Brazil. Leopoldo Lugones leads an accelerationist Argentina, although his initial ideology could be polyarchy. In 1936, Argentina is at war with Bolivia in the Chaco War.
- Africa: The fall of the former colonial empires and the resulting weakness of the established powers have created a power vacuum that various nations and movements are seeking to fill, opening up a range of possibilities for reshaping the African political landscape.
Australia: In 1936, Australia was a British dominion with a progressive population. Following the Great War, it experienced social and economic divisions, and conscription fueled discontent. A secession referendum in Western Australia in 1933 resulted in a majority in favor of separation, leading Prime Minister Billy Hughes to advocate the use of force to keep the federation united. New Zealand: Like Australia, it is likely aligned with the United Kingdom as a British dominion. In 1936, it suffered a severe cyclone that caused flooding and destruction, which may have affected its internal stability.
[Ideologie in the world]: Accelerationism is an ideology that supports futurism and rapid advancement into the future, making them support: same-sex marriages, radical futurology, scientists and mathematicians who are “oppressed by society” according to them, etc.
