The Platform 2's setting retains the terrifying and oppressive atmosphere of the "vertical prison," but expands on the context to reveal the intricate workings of its internal society, as follows:

  1. Location: The Pit

Structure: A rectangular tower with a central void, hundreds of floors high (this film confirms at least 333 floors).

Food Platforms: Rectangular stone slabs that slide down with restaurant-quality food at the beginning and become empty when they reach the bottom.

Floor Rotation: Every month, prisoners are gassed and awaken on a randomly assigned new floor (there are both "Heaven" floors at the top and "Hell" floors at the bottom).

  1. Social System: "The Law"

This is the most significant difference in this film. The setting isn't just about starving people fighting each other, but also features a cult controlling the situation:

Unity: There's an agreement that everyone will only eat the food "they themselves have chosen" to ensure that food remains until floor 333.

The Loyalists: A group of people who monitor and punish those who break the law. (Eating others' food) The punishment often ends with a brutal execution.

The Barbarians: A group of people who reject the rules and rely on instinct for cannibalism to survive, leading to a civil war within the pit.

  1. Personal Items

Each prisoner can bring in one item.

Perempuan: Brings her sculptures (which become a central theme in her confession of guilt).

Samiatin: Brings his own paintings.

These items are not just tools, but representations of the remaining "self" before being consumed by the system.

  1. Mood & Tone

Symbolic Violence: Red and dark tones are used to create an unsettling feeling.

Madness: This installment increases the level of horror with more brutal punishment scenes than the first film, and a deeper dive into the characters' psyches as they begin to lose their minds from starvation.
