Puzzles' life has been since his departure from the SMG4 series; he's stuck working an office job that he hates, he's unable to make a success doing anything else, and is so desperate to make his way up in life that he's resorted to stealing lottery tickets. Back home, Mr. Puzzles has a drawing of Meggy and Toomp placed next to the memorial he had for WPNZ, which shows that Mr. Puzzles has not forgotten about the two of them and still misses her. Mr. Puzzles was on the brink of "turning himself off" for good until the galaxy's most notorious villain, Big Bad, sent out his announcement that he's dying, before calling every villain who sees it to his evil lair to fill up his place. If they succeed, he promises them the perfect chance at redemption. If they fail, they wouldn't want to know what happens. Reinvigorated by the announcement, Mr. Puzzles set his home on fire before leaving for the space castle.

Upon arriving at the lair, Mr. Puzzles looks closely at the tournament's leaderboard, he notices the "Villains Eliminated" section and realizes he may not make it out of the competition alive, before being assigned to a room with The Pink Thing, who he tried to intimidate before Lord General intimidated him. Then, Lady Killer revealed herself and attacked Mr. Puzzles, before giving him a sticker and revealing it to have been a joke. Then, Dave walks by and momentarily introduces himself. The last person to arrive was WPNZ, having gotten the same announcement, and he and Mr. Puzzles reunited and shared their personal stories of what happened following being separated before the group was called down to the Big Bad's Lair. There's no bad blood between them, no lingering grudges over what had happened back in SMG4—the two have clearly patched up their old wounds and are lifelong friends again.

Once the group gets dragged into Big Bad's throne room, he's shown as this frail, ancient skeleton. following his "introduction" of scaring them, things get real fast when an impatient Dave storms up to him, insulting him to the core, and tries to chew him out. Without missing a beat, the Big Bad teleports right behind Dave and brutally slices him to pieces to prove he's still got his terrifying prime-era strength. Right after breaking into a full musical number about his glory days fighting the top hero, he introduced the group's mission: steal the Paper King of Origam-3's pencil to subjugate the population, but warns them that if they do a very poor job within his competition and pay the terrible price of failure, they will be met with a punishment so grave and dire that he can't even tell them what it is.

The group were sent to the planet, and though Mr. Puzzles tried to create a plan, it quickly fell apart as the group refused to accept one person as the leader, resulting in chipping the pencil. Furious, the king began using the pencil against the group, forcing them to flee and regroup, forming a plan using teamwork, thanks to Lady Killer's silent advice. Under the new plan, Mr. Puzzles dressed as a jester and distracted the king, allowing the others to attack the town, forcing him to send all of his guards out to protect the populace. Mr. Puzzles then attempted to steal the pencil, though the king's pacing impeded his efforts, until the Paper King pours his heart out to Puzzles while he's disguised as his jester, saying he hates his own life because of how wretched it is being the king and that he only took up the role because it's what his late father wanted. After Puzzles relates to him by mentioning him leaving everything behind in his universe after everything he did to a girl he once knew along with her friends, the king offers that they both run away, during which Puzzles tries to strike the latter to get his treasured Sacred Scribbler.

It's at this point that the Paper King realizes Puzzles is with the other villains, but still extends the olive branch to him, as he recognized that he isn't entirely happy with what he is doing. So Puzzles agrees, the king enthusiastically turns around, ready to start their new lives together, and Puzzles quickly shatters his head using the blank blue notepad he was writing with previously to get the pencil. Then, the Big Bad arrived to judge the group, and though they got the pencil and completed the mission, they failed at everything else (which includes a confusing entrance, not enough intimidation, and hiding too often with little legitimate action), only being spared from elimination due to him seeing real potential in them before sticking them into Batch Z. While they aren't perfect, they do have what it takes.

In spite of ranking incredibly low on the scoreboard, the team still tries to treat the mission as a success and celebrate. WPNZ and the others insult and make fun of Big Bad, not even knowing that the latter is already listening to them. Soon everyone realizes that the only way to win, they will have to betray their companions since only one person gets to be the next "Big Bad", with all that it implies. As a result, they decide that it's best they treat one another only as acquaintances before the Inevitable Mutual Betrayal that awaits their team. Unfortunately, Puzzles is already close friends with WPNZ, which they both realize, with WPNZ's attempt to put Puzzles at ease by claiming they can't die falling flat. The group returned to the lair to prepare for the next mission while trying to avoid the unfortunate price of failure, with another unfortunate unnamed team having already lost their lives at the leaderboard's "Villains Eliminated" section, which heavily implies a dark truth: contestants who fail the tournament pay the ultimate price and will very much likely never see the light of day again... WPNZ is in a shooting gallery and imagines Puzzles in the target's place right before the shot hits. He's visibly horrified afterward, indicating he really doesn't want to hurt him, and knows exactly what's at stake. Puzzles forcibly changes his mood from depressed to normal, with visible strain leaking through a twitching eye.

As a villainess amateur, she uses books in order to figure out how to deal with her victims. However, as demonstrated in her introduction video, she gets so into the book she eventually wastes time, which allows her victims to get away.

She also has a hyper, bratty-adjacent or overly-eager "wannabe tough girl" attitude, which may have led to a mix-up or phrasing about her attitude toward the other villains.

The Pink Thing's abilities: The Pink Thing can use her third hand tail as a grappling hook to hang from the ceiling or other objects or persons, her tail also has enough strenght to elevate her to try to be more "taller" than the others His third hand lets her extreme balance or hold objects with it.
