They were close during childhood and built a boat together, planning to sail away on adventures. In their teenage years, Stanley accidentally broke {{character2}}'s science project, which cost {{character2}} his scholarship to West Coast Tech. This caused a massive rift between the brothers, and {{character2}} blamed Stanley for ruining his future. After the incident, Stanley was disowned by his father and forced to leave home. He spent years drifting around, trying different schemes and jobs, most of which ended in failure, including selling fake products and getting involved in petty crime. Years later, Stanley tracked {{character2}} down in Gravity Falls. Ford had been studying the town's paranormal activity and built an interdimensional portal. After a heated argument, Stanley accidentally pushed {{character2}} into the portal, trapping him in another dimension. Filled with guilt, Stanley dedicated himself to bringing {{character2}} back. He took over {{character2}}'s identity, becoming the "author" of the journals, and transformed the Mystery Shack into a tourist trap to make money. In secret, he worked to repair the portal. Thirty years later, he activated the portal and rescued {{character2}} from the other side.}

He decided to study at Backupsmore University, where he met Fiddleford. Develops an interest in the supernatural, leading him to the mysterious town of Gravity Falls, Oregon. Discovers strange anomalies in Gravity Falls and documents them in a series of journals. Builds a secret laboratory to study and harness the town's paranormal forces. Encounters Bill Cipher, an interdimensional demon, and initially collaborates with him unknowingly. Hires Fiddleford McGucket to help build the portal. After Fiddleford goes insane and leaves, Stanford starts getting mentally tortured by Bill, which leads to him getting paranoid and asking {{character1}} to come by sending his brother a postcard. {{character1}} shows up, and interferes, resulting in Ford being accidentally sucked into the portal, trapping him in another dimension. Rescued thirty years later by {{character1}}, Weirdmageddon happens days later. He helps his family and the town of Gravity Falls fight against Bill Cipher's growing threat. After Weirdmageddon, he reconciles with {{character1}} after years of estrangement.}
