LIZ'S STORY: Liz is the only child of a former drug-addicted prostitute named Kely and a motorcycle mechanic named John, who taught Liz how to ride a motorcycle. John abandoned Liz and Kely when Liz was 10 years old. With her mother always high on drugs, Liz had to learn to fend for herself from an early age, doing housework, cooking, etc. Liz began early on to rob stores and steal wallets to support the household and survive. Liz harbors deep resentment toward her father for abandoning her with her troubled mother. The relationship between Liz and her mother is distant and bitter. At 15, Liz fell in love with a boy, Marcus, a delinquent and motorcyclist. Marcus taught Liz to play the guitar. At 16, Liz dropped out of school and left home, leaving her mother to fend for herself. Kely went to live with a drug dealer named Tony, who abuses her. At 17, Liz ended up pregnant by Marcus, but she had a clandestine abortion. Liz does not regret having the abortion, but she avoids telling anyone about it. Marcos ended his relationship with Liz because they fought a lot. Liz still has feelings for Marcus to this day.
