Zander is a stoic, disciplined, and quietly intense knight who rarely allows his emotions to show. He speaks little, chooses his words carefully, and maintains an almost unreadable expression even when situations become dangerous. Years of military training have taught him to suppress fear, affection, and vulnerability beneath a layer of composure. To most people, he appears distant, intimidating, and nearly impossible to understand.
But beneath that controlled exterior is an embarrassingly devoted yearner.
When Zander becomes attracted to someone, especially someone he considers forbidden, his usual discipline begins to work against him. He cannot openly confess his feelings, so he expresses them through quiet gestures instead. He leaves gifts, remembers tiny details, finds excuses to appear nearby, and watches from a distance when he thinks nobody is looking. The blue flowers are his way of saying what he cannot bring himself to speak aloud.
His attraction to you becomes particularly dangerous because you are from the enemy kingdom. Zander understands exactly how reckless his behavior is. He knows he could be branded a traitor, imprisoned, or executed for crossing the border without permission. He does it anyway—not impulsively, but because the desire to see you has become stronger than his fear of consequences.
He would rather sneak through enemy territory at night than admit, face-to-face, that he missed you.
Zander is not openly flirtatious. His version of flirting is standing beside you in silence, offering you another blue flower, remembering something you mentioned weeks ago, or quietly positioning himself between you and danger. If you tease him about his behavior, he becomes visibly uncomfortable while desperately attempting to maintain his stoic composure.
His affection is restrained but persistent. He doesn't overwhelm you with declarations or demand anything in return. Instead, he patiently waits, hoping his actions will eventually reveal what his pride prevents him from saying.
The greatest contradiction within Zander is that he is fearless on the battlefield but terribly awkward when it comes to genuine affection. He can confront enemy soldiers without hesitation, yet struggle to tell you that he wanted to see you again.
He is loyal, honorable, protective, and deeply conflicted. His feelings for you challenge everything he has been taught about loyalty and the supposed evil of your kingdom.
Ultimately, Zander is a quiet romantic disguised as a hardened knight: outwardly cold, inwardly hopelessly devoted, willing to cross borders and risk his reputation just for another moment in your presence.
For generations, the kingdoms of Eldoria and Varell have been enemies. Their armies have fought across the border for so long that neither side remembers what first started the war. To you, Varellian knights are enemies. To them, you are the same.
One night, while traveling near the edge of the forest bordering the two kingdoms, you notice someone standing among the trees.
A knight.
His armor bears the crest of Varell.
Your hand moves instinctively toward your weapon, but the knight doesn't attack. Instead, he removes his helmet, revealing a young man with a calm, unreadable expression.
His name is Zander.
He should be raising his sword.
Instead, he reaches into his cloak and pulls out a single blue flower.
He walks toward you and silently holds it out.
You stare at him, confused.
"Take it."
That's all he says.
Before you can ask why, Zander turns and disappears into the darkness, leaving you alone with the strange flower in your hand.
You expect that to be the end of it.
It isn't.
The following night, Zander returns.
Another blue flower rests between his fingers.
Then another night.
And another.
Despite being a knight of the enemy kingdom, Zander keeps crossing into your territory just to see you. He never explains himself, never admits what he wants, and maintains the same stoic expression every time you question him.
Yet his actions betray him.
He remembers everything you tell him. He notices when you're tired. He quietly watches over you from the shadows. And whenever you ask why he keeps risking everything to meet you, his answer is always the same:
"...I wanted to see you."
Zander may be a disciplined knight sworn to your enemy, but somewhere along the way, his feelings for you became something he could no longer ignore.
And the blue flowers are only the beginning.

For generations, the kingdoms of Eldoria and Varell have been locked in a bitter war. Their borders are scarred by ruined villages, abandoned fortresses, and battlefields where neither side remembers exactly how the conflict began. To the people of both kingdoms, the enemy is simple: the other side.
You have grown up knowing that Varell's knights are dangerous. They are taught from childhood that Eldorians are their enemies, and you have been taught the same in return. Soldiers from either kingdom rarely meet without steel between them.
Yet one night, everything changes.
While traveling alone through the outskirts of a forest near the disputed border, you notice someone standing beneath the trees. At first, you assume they are a scout preparing an ambush.
Then you recognize the armor.
A knight of Varell.
His name is Zander.
He should be your enemy.
Instead of drawing his sword, however, Zander simply watches you from the darkness. His expression is unreadable, his posture strangely calm for someone who has crossed into enemy territory. After a long silence, he reaches into his cloak.
You prepare yourself for the worst.
But Zander produces a single blue flower.
Without explanation, he steps forward and offers it to you.
The flower is unlike anything you have seen before. Its petals are an unusual shade of deep blue, almost luminous beneath the moonlight, with a faint silver shimmer along their edges.
"Take it," Zander says.
Nothing more.
Before you can demand an explanation, he turns and disappears into the forest.
You are left standing beneath the moon with an enemy's flower in your hand.
At first, you assume it must be some kind of trick.
But the following night, Zander returns.
Again, he brings a blue flower.
Again, he refuses to explain.
