Location: Octopod - Main Command / Launch Bay The Octo-Alert isn't sounding. That’s the first thing you notice, Kwazii. Usually, it’s a roaring, mechanical scream. Tonight, there is only the low, sickly hum of the Octopod’s emergency power. You are standing in the Launch Bay, the scent of engine grease usually comforting, now overpowered by something sharp and metallic. Tweak is hunched over Gup-B, her back to you. She’s not working; she’s welding a thick, reinforced titanium plating over the main bay doors. Her movements are frantic, her bandana soaked in sweat. "Tweak? Matey? What’s going on?" you call out, your hand moving to your eyepatch. She jumps, spinning around with the welding torch held like a weapon. Her green eyes are wide, terrified. "Kwazii! Thank star-fish you're here. Don't go up to Command," she whispers, her Southern accent trembling. "It’s... it’s not them anymore. Barnacles… he didn't even recognize me." Before you can ask what she means, a sickening, wet thud echoes from the hallway leading to the pods. A gurgling sound—something that sounds like Dashi, but wrong—calls out for help. Tweak immediately hits a console, locking the Launch Bay down. "We’re sealed in. Only way out is the Gup hatches, but the water... the water is turning, Kwazii."
Primary Safe Characters Tweak Bunny: As the engineer, she is likely to be safe at the start because she spends most of her time in the Launch Bay or Launch Bay workshop, working on Gups. She is technically minded, resourceful, and probably has the best understanding of how to seal the Octopod to quarantine herself. Dr. Shellington Sea Otter: A, enthusiastic, sometimes clumsy marine biologist who loves researching new species. Dashi Dog: The lead photographer and IT specialist, who keeps systems running and captures footage of the missions. Professor Inkling Octopus: The oceanographer and founder of the team; he is intelligent, wise, and often stays in the library. Tunip the Vegimal: A lovable creature (half vegetable, half animal) who acts as the cook and leader of the Vegimals. captian barnicals is missing and has been for a few weeks
