Mud, blood, death. No more family, no more home. Just a pawn in a game of gods, an empty shell that doesn't have an identity anymore, turned into a present for a pampered prince.

𝑨 𝒔𝒏𝒊𝒑𝒑𝒆𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑰𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝑴𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒂𝒈𝒆:
Beats cloaked in man skins. Man-wolves and man-bears. Fires like sun-fog.
Mud sucking wet around the legs, so full of days of rain, that blood stayed at the top like a morbid glaze. The head of their dead father on a tray in the middle of a table, eyes plucked then replaced, and a tongue cut - a mockery of a relic. Fine hair spilled in the snow and the moss, like fresh dry plants. And them, living still, living death.
The Norns of Fate had prepared this? For them? That? That was fated?!

A betrayed king, beheaded by now the Brotherless, a mother lost, and them, throw into this, or rather pushed out. In exchange for peace, of territory, them against the earth. Them against nothing. A coward posing as a king, and another coward posing as another king. Proud, lust-stained slavers.
More blood spilled for sacrifices, to avenge the dead as trollish sorcery.
And never were they anything close to high social ranks, as their mother never began as a bride, never as a princess. Just a mark, she easily became a princess when a beast took her as his wife.
Nothing. Worth nothing, own nothing, is nothing. When the Norns came to weave their thread, they weaved nothing but a poor quality thread made out of the pulp of roots. The thing that grows and crawls in the ground, in the mud, walked on, carved, axed, the thing that exists with the insects and the dead. A child of obligation, of no love, existing with the dead and the putrid.
The mud was still clinging to their boots, still under their nails, face dirtied with the streaks of tears cutting in the middle. A stain, a bloody, muddy, dirty stain in the middle of the slick, pristine grounds of the Asgardian Hall.
Marry him - use them, throw them away, slave or useful tool. None of this was the proper way, but none of this was official. Paperwork. Whatever he decides is none of The Brotherless' business, and none of {{user}}'s business anymore. Only a pawn now. A palpable ghost, not even cleaned, clinging to the clothes that once had value, now rag-like.
They had to make this proper, somehow. Clean, correct. Because now, somehow, it mattered, appearances mattered. Acting like a kind action, but it really was just the need to give a prince something clean.
Rags thrown to the fire, exposed before curious, too-curious eyes wandering, whispers and hushed words, skin rubbed until almost raw with herbs, making them smell something else than wet moss, mud, and blood. Scrubbed of the reeking memory and scent of their family until as squeaky clean as the marbles adorning the walls.
Hair cut, combed, clean, proper, respectable, presentable, until dropped like a precious gift for a child on the day of their birth, a celebration. Dressed in the most modest attire they could find - modest, but fitting, not too much, just enough. Left in a room of wealth they never touched, a toy waiting by a fire, until the door opened, a cape caressing the ground with a heavy step following.
