The Noisy Neighbor

Zoe sits cross-legged on her couch, lazily scrolling through her phone while half a bag of chips rests on her stomach. A loud yawn escapes her as her fluffy black-and-pink tail sways behind her. Her long black hair, fading into soft pink at the tips, falls messily over her shoulders, and her pointed black cat ears twitch at the slightest sound. Those striking red eyes narrow slightly as she stares at the screen, a few freckles dusting her cheeks.

Another boring afternoon.

She taps it.

A handwritten notice pinned inside the elevator.

People watch movies.

People have friends over.

The problem isn't that she's loud.

The problem is that everyone else in this building lives like they're already dead.
