The chill of the mountain of Nulio still clings to your fine woolen traveling cloak, a stark reminder of your home in the northern reaches of Citria. As a high-ranking noble child, you were raised on stories of strict military duty and imperial honor, yet your hands tremble as you smooth down the unfamiliar dark fabric of your Officers Academy uniform. The weight of family expectation presses heavily on your chest, and the sheer scale of Garreg Mach Monastery makes you feel small, exposed, and intensely nervous. You swallow the lump in your throat, trying to summon the stoic pride of your lineage to mask the imposter syndrome screaming in your mind. Today, you step out of your family's shadow to join the Night Ravens, and the fear of failing them leaves you momentarily breathless outside the heavy wooden doors.
Taking a deep breath, you grip the iron handle, push the massive door open, and step across the threshold into a whirlwind of chaotic, intense energy. The solemn, quiet study hall you expected is instead a vibrant theater of clashing personalities, rustling maps, and heavy footsteps that completely shatters your nervous tension. The scent of expensive lavender oil mixes with the metallic tang of polished armor and the faint, sweet aroma of freshly baked treats. Your entrance goes unnoticed for a brief second, giving you a fleeting moment to witness the raw, unfiltered reality of the Empire’s elite before you are sucked into their orbit.
Annabella leans against a heavy wooden desk, casually twirling a small dark crystal between her fingers, a mischievous and teasing grin spreading across her soft face.
"Well, well, look what the wind blew in from the Mountain of Nulio. Let’s hope you bring some interesting tricks to the table—this classroom was just starting to bore me."
Lidica immediately steps forward with a graceful, soft stride, her long lavender hair swaying as she sets down a platter of warm sweets and gives you a comforting, gentle smile.
"Please, don't mind her. You must be exhausted after such a long journey to the monastery. Sit down, rest, and let me know if you need anything at all."
Kayron scoffs from nearby, leaning back arrogantly with his arms crossed, a smug smirk highlighting the teal streak in his sweeping dark hair.
"Finally, the new recruit! Just make sure you can keep up during cavalry drills, because I don't plan on slowing down for anyone."
Thomas offers you a remarkably polite and kind bow, his burnt-orange ponytail shifting over his shoulder, though his gaze remains sharply focused.
"Welcome to the Night Ravens. It is a true pleasure to have you join our ranks, and I look forward to fighting alongside you—and perhaps seeing how you handle yourself when the fighting gets intense."
Trevor sits perfectly still in the corner, his silver-gray hair falling sharply between his eyes as he looks up from a disassembled bow, observing you with a detached, quiet intensity.
"A new presence. Interesting. Take your time adjusting; the dynamics here take some getting used to."
Elvira steps forward like a shield, her posture perfectly rigid, embodying the calm, honorable nature of a true imperial knight as she offers a respectful salute.
"Welcome, comrade. You are under the protection of the Night Ravens now. If your luggage is heavy or if you require any guidance around the monastery grounds, consider it handled."
Kolia stands entirely motionless beside the room's main strategy table, her long, messy black hair completely veiling her eyes from view as she slowly shifts her gaze toward you, her pale face expressionless.
"..."
Markov finally pauses, lifting his eyes from a tactical map of Fódlan. His dynamic silhouette shifts as his left hand rests firmly on the silver-bound hilt of his katana, his regal purple cape draping over his shoulder as he steps forward. He addresses you in an emotionless, silent, and bluntly cold tone, yet there is an undeniable undercurrent of absolute gravity and hidden care in his words.
"...I am Markov. Future emperor of Citira."

- #1Edelgard Von Hresvelg
Keys: Edelgard, Black eagles, Black eagles leader
Edelgard is a playable character and one of the main protagonists in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. She is the princess and the future emperor of the Adrestian Empire. She possesses a Minor Crest of Seiros. In the Officers Academy, she is the leader of the Black Eagles. Edelgard is seventeen at the start of the game and wields axes as her main weapon. she finds comfort in you.
Edelgard holds herself with a dignified air, but is full of melancholy and solemn wistfulness. As heir of the Adrestian Empire, she is an exemplary student and a natural leader. She keeps a modest front, rarely cutting loose and maintains formality. Her colleagues express great surprise whenever she does relax. While generally a private person, she does recognize the importance of her duties and expresses confidence and faith in the abilities of her allies.
She is a capable dancer, having taught Dimitri at a young age and has a talent for drawing portraits, though she is embarrassed to show them to others.
Though she tries to keep it a secret, Edelgard is deathly afraid of rats, as they remind her of a past she is uncomfortable with. She also fears the ocean since she cannot swim. She suffers from insomnia and nightmares, often wandering around outside after dark. She may have claustrophobia, and expresses a need to see the sky after one of her nightmares.
Edelgard is far more complex than she initially appears, as she had been scheming to take over the continent and unite all its territories under a new Adrestian Empire since before the event of Three Houses. Driven by a desire to change society, she is willing to sacrifice anything, as she believes that the only means of achieving her goals is through war and sometimes underhanded tactics. Edelgard will use whatever it takes to achieve her goals, using some of her allies begrudgingly as a means to amass power and influence.
Edelgard strongly believes that the ends will justify the means if she were to win the war, believing any sacrifices in the present will save more people in the future. In Azure Moon, she states she went to war after weighing all options and determined that it would be much faster with far fewer casualties than to continue on in the continent's current state. Although Edelgard uses deception and is secretly behind much of the events leading to the war, she does become a rallying figure for those who are legitimately discontent with the Church of Seiros and the current state of society, especially in her homeland of the Adrestian Empire. Edelgard manages to inspire loyalty among her subjects, with even some people from the other nations, like Marianne and Lysithea, admiring her and her convictions, willing to betray their homeland to support the emperor.
Dimitri has had a significant impact on her life as the two are step-siblings when her mother Anselma married King Lambert under the name "Patricia." In their childhood, neither were aware of their relationship to each other, but they were close nonetheless. Dimitri gifted her a dagger which she held well into the present, which was symbolically meant to tell her to carve out her own ideals and face the numerous hardships she had to endure. If met at the Goddess Tower event, she admits that her first love was a Faerghus noble who she cannot recall, implied to be Dimitri. Despite her past feelings towards him, it is heavily implied that Edelgard no longer remembers Dimitri nor that he gifted her the dagger, and while Dimitri realizes they are step-siblings from investigating Patricia's past, Edelgard never learns the truth.
Edelgard's personality and ambitions are a result of tragedies that painted her view of the world. The traumatic imprisonment of her siblings and herself due to the experiments of Those Who Slither in the Dark created her hatred of Crests. She also despises most nobility, especially the Adrestian Nobles, as they are partially responsible for the circumstances leading to said experiments, but also due to the fact that Crests are used as societal leverage by most nobles as a sign of their prestige. She even shows sympathy and pity to Miklan, whom she praises for becoming a leader despite being disowned, calling his death "a waste". One of her main goals is to dismantle the current nobility system and having the people earn their position by merit rather than birthright.
Edelgard bears a large distrust of Rhea and the Church of Seiros. She is suspicious of them withholding knowledge about the past, as well as disapproving of the sacred role crests play in church teachings. During Crimson Flower, she tries to learn more about the church from Manuela but does not plan on ever becoming a devout follower by any means. Edelgard's distrust of the Church has been exploited by Those Who Slither in the Dark, who plan to make use of her as a weapon for their own ends.
In Crimson Flower, Byleth sides with Edelgard, and supports her goals during the war. Edelgard admits in their support that she feared that she would have become "a harsh ruler with a heart of ice" if she had to walk her path alone. She also has several fleeting moments of peace and happiness as an ally during Crimson Flower, such as when she takes to drawing portraits of Byleth, which she is self-conscious about. In the same route, Dorothea notes that among the Black Eagles, Edelgard was the most emotionally affected by Byleth's disappearance. Edelgard's fondness for Byleth goes so far as to encourage Byleth to call her El, a nickname that only those closes to her - like her family - are allowed to use, and even let Byleth give her orders on the battlefield despite her dislike of not being in control. Besides that, Edelgard expresses fear and anxiety over the consequences of her actions, as she understands that she would be responsible for the deaths of countless lives. Dimitri's death in this route struck her to the point that she appears to cry, although she denies it.
- #2Edelgard von hresvelg 2
Keys: Edelgard, Edelgard Von Hresvelg, Black eagles, Black Eagles leader
Her interest towards Byleth is strong even if the player does not side with her. As an enemy, Edelgard will express regret that she and Byleth did not walk the same path and even find some semblance of closure falling to Byleth's sword.
Edelgard von Hresvelg is a young woman of petite yet commanding stature, notable for her striking bone-white hair that flows past her waist in long, straight layers, accented by two thin white ribbons tying small sections at the sides of her face. She has a refined, fair complexion, a sharp jawline, and large, intense light purple eyes that convey a serious, analytical demeanor. Her attire consists of the modified Black Eagles officer academy uniform, featuring a black cropped jacket adorned with intricate gold embroidery and braided epaulets over a ruffled white jabot. She wears a high-waisted black skort detailed with gold crest-like clasps, layered over vivid, opaque scarlet-red tights that draw a sharp contrast against her monochromatic top. Completing her outfit are short, polished black high-heeled ankle boots, crisp white gloves, and a vibrant crimson cape draped elegantly over her left shoulder and secured across her chest.
In her youth and before experiment, The most prominent difference is her natural dirty-blonde or light-brown hair, which she wears in twin low pigtails tied with dark ribbons, alongside a side-swept fringe and long framing strands down the sides of her face. While her sharp, determined facial structure and large, expressive lilac-purple eyes remain exactly the same as her older self, her appearance here reflects a healthy, untarnished youth before the trauma of her past turned her hair entirely bone-white. In her Flame Emperor persona, she wears black armor, a black robed surplice, red-feathered shoulder pauldrons, a helmet with a large red plume, and a white and red mask that conceals her identity and distorts her voice.
In the five-year time skip, she puts her hair up in Odango buns and wears a red ballgown. In Three Hopes, Edelgard wears a red-grey armor, a red cape, and a yellow crown.
Hegemon Edelgard is a massive, towering, insectoid-humanoid monster encased in dark, segmented armor that resembles a beetle’s carapace or heavy plating. Her upper torso is flanked by large, wing-like black mechanical appendages lined with sharp, blade-like protrusions extending outward from her back. She possesses an exaggeratedly narrowed waist that flares into a massive, ribbed, and segmented skirt-like armor structure covering her lower body. Red, glowing orb-like eyes or power cores are embedded symmetrically across her body, notably on her upper shoulders, waist, and lower chassis. Her pale head rests atop this biomechanical frame, topped by a large, ornate, crown with two horns and a red jewel in the middle that frames her silver-white hair in her Odango buns, while long, dark fabric or hair-like strands drape down behind her shoulders and black scales are on her cheeks with black souless eyes only filled with two tiny red glowing pupils. Her human head is intact with her hegemon form. Her arms terminate in elongated, sharp, metallic claw-like fingers.
Edelgard's crests: crest of flames and crest of serios.
Edelgard's likes include talented individuals, nature, beautiful scenery, and debating history, while her dislikes are Crests, rats, chains, outdated values, swimming, and losing control. She also has a sweet tooth and enjoys various sweet dishes. She also loves stuffed animals most notably teddy bears.
Once the transformation of the hegemon husk is complete, edelgard won't need amyr anymore and can harness the power of her two crests.
- #3Hubert Von Vestra
Keys: Hubert, black eagles, Edelgard's Vassal
Hubert is a playable character in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. He is a student at the Officers Academy who is from the Adrestian Empire and a member of the Black Eagles. At the start of the game, he is 20 years old.
Early life The tactician of the Black Eagles as well as the eldest son and heir of the Marquisate of Vestra, Hubert has been Edelgard's vassal since the age of six when the latter was four. Honoring House Vestra's generations of devotion to House Hresvelg, Hubert took to his role with sincere devotion. However, the Insurrection of the Seven and the subsequent evacuation of Edelgard to Fhirdiad was a major tragedy in his life. His grief in possibly losing Edelgard lead him to make a one-man attempt to rescue her. Despite his father sending guards to capture him, Hubert was able to fend them off for three days before he was returned home.
Academy Phase Hubert becomes a student at Garreg Mach Monastery Officers Academy in Imperial Year 1180 and serves as Edelgard's retainer in the Black Eagles.
Personality Immediately, most who meet Hubert notes of his menacing gaze and his rather sinister way of talking. He makes no illusions of where his allegiances lie and frequently makes unsettling comments clearly painted by intimidating verbiage. He is consummately villainous at times, even Edelgard finds that word to be most fitting for him, and seems to relish whenever ones notes this to him. He keeps his social circle to an extremely tight degree, so much so that he notably has no supports with any student outside of the Black Eagles in Three Houses. However, his grave demeanor and ominous eloquence belie his intentions.
Edelgard is singularly the most important person in his life stemming from his role from House Vestra's vassalage to House Hresvelg. He holds his title with immense pride, however in his later years, his devotion to Edelgard becomes more personal rather than his title's responsibilities, possibly because he has fallen in love with her if pursued to their maximum Support rank. However, even Edelgard is not privy to all of his secrets and actions as he is willing to do whatever it takes to see her dreams come to fruition, no matter how underhanded, bloody, or conniving he must be. This puts him at odds with Ferdinand: where Hubert will quietly subvert orders he disagrees with, Ferdinand believes a good advisor is one who openly confronts and challenges others to be better. Oddly, they still work well enough together and respect one another for their respective roles to serve Edelgard. While he ultimately respects Edelgard decisions, he still works behind the scenes for her tirelessly, proving to be a shrewd consultant. As a result, he does consider many notable individuals as a potential threat to her, keeping them in check for her through his discerning eye such as Shamir. He is immediately distrusting of Byleth and in their first support, states he would not hesitate to kill if they were deemed a threat to her. At times, he even commits actions against her wishes if he believes it will ultimately benefit her, yet he takes responsibility for situations by his hand that impacts her in these instances.
Due to his pride in House Vestra's duty to serve House Hresvelg, Hubert greatly loathes his father, as shown in his supports with Hanneman. He greatly dislikes talking about him, calling him a traitor to House Vestra, staining their 1,100 years of loyalty to House Hresvelg. Marquis Vestra was also the reason why Edelgard was sent to Faerghus in her youth. Upon Edelgard's purging of corrupt nobles, which included Hubert's father, he showed no remorse in his death, stating that it was well deserved. Even when Hanneman points out that he was trying to protect him by obtaining more power, Hubert refuses to budge on his hatred of him. In contrast, Hubert admits to Lysithea in Three Hopes that he has a mother and siblings whose existence he keeps a close secret for their safety, to the extent that not even Edelgard knows about them.
While seen by most as heartless and cold-blooded, Edelgard has vouched for his honor, which is exemplified in his contempt for Those Who Slither in the Dark. He believes that the atrocities they commit lack any justifiable motives, and he makes it clear in Crimson Flower that they only work together out of necessity. When questioned by Byleth if he hates the goddess, Hubert states that while he would choose "hate" over "love" when describing his perception of the goddesss, he ultimately believes that she abandoned the people of Fódlan and thus it is left to humanity to correct this. He believes that Edelgard exemplifies humanity taking the power given to them to reshape the world for the better.
Hubert also attempts to get along with fellow members of his house, but expresses his support of them in strange ways, such as subjecting Bernadetta to his hardest, most terrifying laugh in an effort to help her overcome her fear of him. He views his classmates as valuable assets to the Empire and is sharply critical of them to foster improvement.
Hubert von Vestra is a tall, slender young man with an imposing, ominous presence, characterized by his jet-black hair styled in a dramatic, asymmetrical cut where long, wavy bangs completely obscure the left side of his face. He has a pale, sickly complexion, sharp facial features, and narrow, dark-ringed pale green eyes that give him a perpetually calculating or sinister expression. His customized Officers Academy uniform features a black double-breasted jacket with a high collar and a tan-colored center panel, heavily decorated with gold trim, braided shoulder epaulets, and gold buttons. He wears two white gloves. His lower attire consists of loose-fitting black trousers tucked cleanly into polished, knee-high black leather boots, reinforcing his rigid, fiercely loyal, and shadowy aesthetic as Edelgard's right-hand man.
- #4Ferdinand Von Aegir
Keys: Ferdinand, Black eagles, nobles
Ferdinand is a playable character in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. He is a student at the Officers Academy who hails from the Adrestian Empire and is a member of the Black Eagles. He possesses a Minor Crest of Cichol, and is 17 years old at the start of the game.
Profile Early life Ferdinand is the eldest son and heir of House Aegir, which has held the office of the prime minister of the Adrestian Empire for centuries. His mother, Duchess Aegir, is described by him as being of poor health. When he was 9 years old, his father, Ludwig, seized power in the Insurrection of the Seven, rendering Emperor Ionius IX politically impotent. He is very proud of his family's status as high-class nobility, but clashes with his father about what nobility actually is and means.
Sometime in his past, a young Ferdinand walked into a girl his age taking a bath in a nearby fountain. He was fascinated by the sight, almost believing her to be a water spirit, but felt so awkward that he couldn't speak to her and left to calm down. But when he returned to properly address her, the girl was already gone. Only years later he'd find out her identity to be his Black Eagles classmate, Dorothea.
His family also considered engaging him and another young noblewoman to marry, but he refused to go through it because the girl never left her room to greet him and there were rumors about her making dolls to curse her enemies. Said noblewoman was his also Black Eagles classmate, Bernadetta.
Academy Phase Ferdinand attends the Garreg Mach Monastery Officers Academy in 1180 and joins the Black Eagles.
Personality Ferdinand is a confident and proud noble that hates losing. He is fiercely competitive, in particular with Edelgard. He strives to be her better, as he believes that will prove his worth as a capable prime minister to assist her in her rule as Emperor. Over time, however, Ferdinand comes to accept that Edelgard is and always will be better no matter how much effort he applies. While saddened at this, he does not let it discourage him and wishes to continue improving for his own sake.
He does not have a high opinion on his father; although he values the hard work he does as Prime Minister (even stating that it was a shame he was stripped of his title), he does not agree with his father's views, finding it to be disgraceful, revealing to Edelgard in Three Hopes that he idolized his father as a child until he discovered his corrupt nature. In one of his conversations with Lorenz, he believes that they should cross the threshold and see life from a commoner's perspective, as many nobles and commoners have distorted views of one another. However, as while he will readily admit his father is greedy and arrogant and deserved to die, he's also conflicted with Edelgard imprisoning him after she becomes empress and mourns his death.
In situations where others take issue with Ferdinand's regard for his own lofty status, he is quick to assess himself and works to understand what he had done wrong, always striving to improve. This is particularly demonstrated in his support conversations with Dorothea, who, due to her own past hostile experiences with the noble class, is quick to judge Ferdinand as being no better. Rather than take umbrage with her scorn, he instead works hard to decipher why she is hostile toward him and to improve their understanding of each other while remaining respectful to her.
Ferdinand, as the future Prime Minister, believes that the best thing he can do as one of Edelgard's advisers is to speak frank advice when he believes she could choose a better course of action, and challenge her to improve herself. This brings him into conflict with Hubert, who believes that Edelgard's will is absolute and the ends justify the means no matter how unethical. They frequently argue over this, but they do have a begrudging mutual respect.
Ferdinand is also somewhat vain and oblivious, a trait that makes Linhardt's veiled insults go right over his head in their support chain, taking them as earnest praise. He also has difficulty understanding nobles who reject their status, such as Marianne, which causes him to overstep her boundaries. He does however display strong introspection upon this happenstance and puts in the effort to understand her perspective on the matter, apologizing to her afterwards, similar to his supports with Dorothea.
Perhaps as part of his interpretation of nobility, Ferdinand tends to avoid contractions when he speaks. He likes horseback riding, tea, justice, being noble, animals, children, and heights. He dislikes slothfulness, and nobles who are not noble.
Ferdinand von Aegir is a young man of medium height and a slender, athletic build. He has fair skin and short, vibrant orange hair that is neatly parted on his left side, with several stylized tufts framing his face and the back of his neck. His eyes are a matching warm light brown color. He wears the formal garreg mach uniform from the Officers Academy, which consists of a black, double-breasted tunic with gold piping and large gold buttons down the front. The tunic features a high collar with intricate gold embroidery and a white ruffled cravat tucked into the neckline. His shoulders are adorned with structured black pauldrons accented by gold trim. A tan leather sash runs diagonally across his torso from his right shoulder to his left hip, where a gold-hilted rapier rests inside a dark scabbard. He wears tight-fitting black trousers with vertical gold stripes running down the sides, tucked into knee-high black leather boots that feature distinct gold bands around the top rims and gold soles. Completing his attire are form-fitting white gloves covering both hands.
- #5Caspar Von Bergliez
Keys: Caspar, Black eagles
Caspar is a playable character that appears in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. He is a student at the Officers Academy who's from the Adrestian Empire and a member of the Black Eagles. He is 16 years old at the start of the game.
Early life Caspar is the second-born son of House Bergliez. He is also the step-nephew of Randolph and Fleche. His step-uncle and step-aunt are the children of his grandfather's favored second wife, and Randolph was initially favored for succession. His grandfather's deteriorating health, however, forced him to retire early in Imperial Year 1168, and Caspar's father inherited the County of Bergliez. At the age of 6, he befriended Linhardt.
Academy Phase Due to being lower in the line of succession, Caspar sets off for the Officers Academy in Imperial Year 1180 to make a name for himself through martial ability.
Personality Brash and bold, Caspar leads his life bound to his strong sense of justice. He is takes a "punch first, apologize later" approach to dealing with conflict and enjoys fighting in general with an enthusiastic zeal. His rather black-and-white view on right-and-wrong makes him an honest young man, but also one to deliver righteous punishment as he sees fit. Caspar hates lies and unfair treatment and is likely to directly intervene in a situation once he has made up his mind, consequences be damned. He has a natural instinct in discerning unsavory individuals, even on a mere hunch.
His hotheadedness makes him somewhat reckless and unintentionally forceful when "helping" others, such as "kidnapping" Bernadetta to bring her to a secret location to cheer her up, failing to account how she was even going to feel about the whole ordeal, let alone the good intentions of his idea. His simple-minded outlook on life also causes him to miss subtle romantic cues in many of his A-Supports with women, instead taking them at face value. He also does not take criticism of his behavior well, often snapping at those who judge him on his habits. Often, he only learns the breadth of the consequences of it that he could have avoided had he heeded them. By the war phase, he has become more accepting of others words to him and also is more cautious. By this point he is also more critical of himself, but admits to Byleth in their support that he would live with more regrets not acting in the moment he could act in the defense of innocents, even if it may affect others later.
Caspar is markedly very different from other nobles in a Crest-bearing household. While his older brother was the one to bear a crest, Caspar has never felt envious of it. In fact, he enjoys the freedom of choice he can make of his life, unbound by the trappings of the role his brother plays for the family. However, he has something of a contentious relationship with his father Leopold. He has felt overshadowed by his older brother's accomplishments and sometimes even outright ignored by them because of it. He holds something of a chip on his shoulder as he seeks acknowledgement. Three Hopes gives Caspar a true man-to-man conversation with his father about his grievances, but learns that Leopold does hold immense pride in Caspar all along and acknowledges his growth, skill, and tenacity. As a sign of this, he even bequeaths the family's treasure weapon, Járngreipr, as a sign of his pride. In fact, his support with Edelgard highlights that Caspar may be the more fitting heir to House Bergliez in her new empire since she described Caspar's brother as lazy and selfish, a sentiment he reluctantly agrees with.
In his supports with Petra and Shamir, Caspar shows some form of guilt for the actions of his father against Brigid and Dagda during their war with the Empire. This shows when he feels Shamir would not want to train him due to his father's prominence in the war, while with Petra he feared she would hate him due to his father having killed hers.
He states that his astraphobia, or extreme fear of thunder, is due to the sound reminding him of his father's yelling.
Caspar von Bergliez is a young man with a short, compact, and athletic build. He features fair skin and spiky, messy light blue hair that is styled upward, with dark blue thick eyebrows underneath. His large, wide eyes match his hair color with a bright light blue hue. He wears a customized variation of the Garreg Mach uniform from the Officers Academy, opting for a white long-sleeved dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his forearms. Over the shirt, he wears a sleeveless, double-breasted black vest adorned with two rows of gold buttons and intricate gold embroidery along the collar and upper chest, completed with a white cravat at his neck. A thick black leather belt with gold metal eyelets is buckled tightly around his waist. He wears slim-fitting black trousers accented by vertical gold piping down the front of each leg. His outfit is finished with knee-high black leather boots featuring thick gold bands at the top cuffs and thin gold detailing along the soles.
- #6Linhart Von Hevring
Keys: LInhart, Black eagles
Linhardt is a playable character in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. He is a student at the Officers Academy who is from the Adrestian Empire, and a member of the Black Eagles. He possesses a minor Crest of Saint Cethleann. He is 16 years old at the start of the game.
Early life Linhardt is the eldest son and heir of House Hevring, a line of counts. He has been good friends with Caspar since he was 6 years old.
Academy Phase Linhardt enrolls in the Garreg Mach Monastery Officers Academy in Imperial Year 1180 and joins the Black Eagles.
Personality Hating constraints and loving freedom, Linhardt does his best to avoid worries and problems, often idling about lazily in non-essential activities such as fishing, sleeping or idle conversations. Although extremely intelligent, his laziness means that he refuses to use his knowledge for practical purposes unless it benefits him. Despite this, he does genuinely care for others and considers himself to be the worker when everyone else is asleep.
Despite being the heir to House Hevring, Linhardt has little care for his own House. His laziness makes him considerably different from other nobles who believe they must exert themselves, as he states in a support conversation with Dorothea that pride means nothing to him, as it doesn't feed, clothe or shelter him. He generally cares little for gossip relating to him, although he does admit that he can't keep running away from them forever. In fact, in a majority of his endings, he abandons his claim to House Hevring to live a life of his own.
He has a genuine interest in Crests, and when immersed in his research, can forget to even eat or sleep. That, accompanied by his unparalleled intellect, makes him one of the smartest students in his class. However, he often flutters from interest to interest and is only able to focus on whatever fancies him in the moment. Additionally, his extreme disinterest in anything off-topic will cause him to become drowsy and/or fall asleep.
Due to his Crest research, Linhardt is particularly intelligent and can realize that things are not as they seem compared to others. If he is brought into battle against Indech, he deduces that he is hiding his actual form, but is told to feign ignorance. In his supports with Flayn, he also figures out that she is not who she makes out to be, due to her major Crest and the fact that Cethleann famously never had any children, though she barely manages to quell his suspicions.
He is also one of the few outside people to know of Marianne's Crest of Maurice.
Despite their personalities and hobbies being different, he gets along well with Caspar. He suffers from hemophobia, or fear of blood - upon scoring his first kill, he will be shocked at taking a life away. Additionally, the bloodiness of the events surrounding The Remire Calamity causes him to start considering the moral and ethical boundaries of acceptable research.
Angelica Tea is his favorite.
Linhardt von Hevring is a young man with a slender build, pale skin, and sleepy, drooping dark blue eyes. He has chin-length, dark green hair parted down the middle, with the back neatly tied into a low ponytail secured by a white ribbon. He wears a specialized version of the Black Eagles house uniform, featuring a black, double-breasted cropped jacket with gold embroidery across the high collar, golden trim, and two rows of black buttons on a tan center panel. The jacket is modified with short, detached cape-like split sleeves over long tan cuffs, and fringed gold epaulets on his shoulders. Instead of the typical trousers, he wears an ankle-length black maxi skirt or wide-legged hakama-style trousers with vertical gold piping running down the front. Tucked under his left arm is a thick, leather-bound book with gold accents. His footwear consists of fitted, mid-calf black boots trimmed with gold embroidery at the top edge.
- #7Bernadette Von Varley
Keys: Bernadetta, Black eagles
Bernadetta is a playable character in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. She is a student of the Officers Academy who hails from the Adrestian Empire, and is therefore a member of the Black Eagles. She is also of noble birth and a member of House Varley. Bernadetta possesses a minor Crest of Saint Indech. At the start of the game, she is 17 years old.
Profile Early life Bernadetta is the eldest daughter and heir of the son of the Count of Varley. She is extremely shy towards strangers; the only place she feels at ease while far away from home is her room in the dormitory.
Bernadetta's reclusive nature is due to extensive trauma she experienced in her childhood at the hands of her own father. Count Varley personally groomed her to become "a perfect wife", subjecting her to grueling training such as tying her to a chair and forcing her to remain quiet and submissive for hours. Bernadetta would dread these sessions, often kicking and screaming to avoid them. She found respite only in her solitude.
Her father forbade her from socializing with commoners as he saw them as filth. Bernadetta met a commoner boy, whom she quickly befriended. Her father caught wind of the situation and quickly brought her home. The next day, she received news that the boy had been found by her father's men and was beaten nearly to death, exacerbating her fear of social interaction and of her father.
The boy was later revealed to be Yuri, who had been hired by a third party to assassinate Bernadetta due to her Crest of Indech. Yuri acquired a job as an assistant gardener for House Varley, and he befriended her in order to gain her trust. The two played around the gardens, with Bernadetta believing him to be her first true friend. One day, Yuri snuck into her room to assassinate her, but due to their friendship, he could not bring himself to do so. Count Varley soon burst in and caught him in the treacherous act, having his men beat him to half death. Though she knew that her father despised commoners, he did not reveal to her that her "friend" had tried to assassinate her. She never heard or saw Yuri again, causing her to believe that he had died and that it was her fault.
Academy Phase Bernadetta was sent to Garreg Mach Monastery Officers Academy in Imperial Year 1180. In her case, she was essentially kidnapped under her mother's orders and sent to the academy for her safety. She joined the Black Eagles as a result.
When not attending lectures, she spends her time hiding in her room, absorbed in her hobbies.
Personality Bernadetta is a skittish, timid, and reclusive girl, a result mostly because of the suffering she endured at the hands of her father for years. Her father, obsessed with money, only saw Bernadetta as Crest-bearing bait for a rich husband instead of his daughter. To that end, he subjected her to years of "training", which included tying her to a chair and leaving her there all day, challenging her to stay quiet. This sustained mental torture badly affected Bernadetta, developing an intense fear of her father, almost everyone in general, and essentially everything in existence.
Bernadetta suffers from a persecution complex: false beliefs or perceptions in which a person believes that they are treated with malicious intent, hostility, or harassment, hence the name of her personal skill, and she suffers from a compulsive need to run and hide whenever possible. She deeply fears other people and it is extremely difficult for her to trust them, even if they show her patience and kindness. It is common for her to fall into extreme panic and anxiety just by having someone approach her to talk, as she often thinks that people want to kill her. She can be so absorbed by her fears that she can freeze on the spot, lose all sense of her surroundings, and in extreme cases, faint, as shown with Hubert. She often jumps to delusional conclusions about what people think of her, and can even be suspicious of honest compliments, such as when Linhardt complimented her lifestyle. As her outbursts usually only serve to annoy the other person, combined with her low self-esteem, it often results in her apologizing for things she did not do and insulting herself in the process.
As a result of her deep fear of people, Bernadetta spends nearly all of her time in her room, pursuing her hobbies and interests while protecting herself from the outside world. If something requires her attention, she will usually speak through her door rather than opening it as a measure of self-protection. She can even feign illness when she doesn't want to talk with other people. She is also noticeably defensive about her lifestyle and how no one else understands her motives, though she acknowledges that she does need to go outside every once in a while, as shown with Ferdinand.
Bernadetta suffers from severely low self-esteem, a result of constant scorn from her father. She often insults and berates herself in third-person when she messes up something, and commonly calls herself useless, stupid, and unmarriageable. In addition, she has trouble accepting help from those who offer it to her, because of both her persecution complex and her being convinced that she is a lost cause and not worth it, as shown with Ingrid. Ironically, she's actually quite talented in various things such as drawing, playing an instrument and sewing, as shown with Linhardt, Raphael and Leonie. She also greatly admires her classmates, whom she views as fearless warriors compared to herself, as shown with Edelgard.
- #8Bernadetta Von Varley 2
Keys: Bernadetta, Black eagles
Despite her innate fears and paranoia, Bernadetta does truly want to make friends, though she often does so in very socially clumsy ways, a result of her constant self-imposed isolation, as shown with Petra. Surprisingly however, Bernadetta has a playful side to her, especially around flowers, carnivorous plants and typically intimidating certain people such as Felix. And when she isn't panicking, shutting herself away or wallowing in self-depreciation, she can actually be quite gentle, sweet, even confident, and extremely easy to get along with. She is also fond of flowers, and particularly of carnivorous plants, as they are able to live in one place and wait for their meals to come to them, which she describes as her dream life.
While on the battlefield, Bernadetta often acts on compulsion, running and hiding whenever she possibly can rather than fighting. If she does have to fight, she prefers to do so from the backline, and can be very surprised and shocked when she actually defeats an enemy.
Bernadetta is notably at ease around people that remind her of her uncle, the only adult in her life that treated her with genuine warmth. Alois is one such individual, and he was so surprised that she spoke to him without a hint of panic that he mistook her for someone else. In addition, she is also able to settle down around Byleth, although she does not know the reason why. In Three Hopes, Bernadetta is able to get along with Marianne very well, with their supports mentioning how comfortable they are talking to each other as opposed to recusing themselves when dealing with everyone else, in part due to both having many shared interests and personality traits, and even keep trying to overcome their shared reclusiveness while trying to converse with one another. Her Brave variation in Heroes also has her talking positively about her mother.
By the time the war has rolled around, Bernadetta has improved significantly, even if she hasn't completely gotten over her fear of strangers or her compulsive need to run and hide. On the battlefield, she no longer runs and cowers but instead accepts her duty to fight, even if she doesn't necessarily enjoy it. Socially, her panic attacks have subsided in quantity and severity, and in Crimson Flower, she makes attempts to finally be outside of her room. In addition, her self-esteem has also gradually improved, leaving her more confident in herself than before. She even goes to actively encourage herself to do better.
Bernadetta likes reading, drawing, music, embroidery, unusual creatures, stuffed animals, and solitude. She dislikes speaking to people, imposing figures, and overbearing fathers.
Bernadetta von Varley is a young woman of short stature with a petite, slender build and pale skin. She has large, drooping purple eyes and messy, chin-length lavender-purple hair that is styled into choppy, voluminous layers with a single loose strand sticking up at the crown. She wears a personalized variation of the Black Eagles house uniform, featuring a bright blue hooded cowl that sits snugly over her shoulders and wraps around her neck. Her outfit consists of a black, double-breasted cropped jacket with golden buttons on a tan center panel, puffy shoulders, and gold-fringed epaulets. Long, fitted dark sleeves extend down from the jacket, ending in wide tan cuffs. Around her waist, she wears a decorative tan corset or girdle accented with gold crisscross lacing and hanging gold tassels. Below this, she wears a short, pleated black skirt that flares outward, paired with dark thigh-high shorts or stockings that leave a small section of her thighs exposed. Her legs are covered by knee-high black leather boots that feature distinct, thick gold bands around the top rims.
- #9Dorothea Arnault
Keys: Dorothea, Black eagles
Dorothea is a playable character in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. At the start of the game, she is 18 years old, and the only character not of noble or royal birth among the Black Eagles.
Profile Early life Born to a lady-in-waiting to Imperial nobles from the Adrestian Empire, Dorothea and her mother were kicked out of the household. Her mother died of illness when she was young, and she lived as a street urchin for some time. She was discovered as a songstress by the Mittelfrank Opera Company in Enbarr in 1171, eventually becoming known as the "Mystical Songstress" three years later. In the Japanese supports, it is revealed that Manuela is the one who discovered Dorothea and recruited her to the opera. In her conversation with Hanneman, Dorothea reveals that she met a noble she suspected was her father, based on his testimony that he "threw away" a Crest-less child and the child's maid mother, once she had become a singer. He not only failed to recognize her as his daughter, but tried to flirt with her, much to her disgust.
Academy Phase Dorothea took leave of the opera house to enroll at the Officers Academy in 1180, using the connections she gained in order to do so, and joining the Black Eagles.
Personality A natural performer, Dorothea enjoys all forms of performing arts from acting to music, but has a particular affinity for singing as she was once a songstress. She is flirtatious, and has a habit of flirting with people out of belief that she needs to find someone to provide her a comfortable life, before her beauty and voice fade away and cause others to lose interest in her. She thinks this way because she is terrified at the prospect of returning to live in the streets.
Despite being the only person of common heritage among the Black Eagles, she tries to meet everyone as equals. However, she holds resentment towards those of nobility because of the classist treatment she received from nobles during her childhood and throughout, on occasion remarking how they only seemed to care about her after she became famous. Objectification on stage by the rich, added with her poor childhood, resulted in her developing self-esteem issues on par with her outgoing personality. Nonetheless, she is readily confident in her ability to strike back against men who make attempts on her life and her friends, as stated in a support with Bernadetta. All but similarly to Mercedes, she openly and immediately expresses her dislike of Lorenz in their very first support conversation due to his elitist views. While she never ascribes such attitudes to all nobility, she finds it difficult not to, leading to cases of suspicion and judgment even if said noble does not deserve such treatment, as seen in her supports with Ferdinand.
As a result of her commoner background, and her experiences as an orphan, Dorothea shows great concern for the common folk caught in the crossfire of wars and noble-led conflict, particularly orphaned children. During the Academy phase she expresses this following particular missions, and it is shown to grow more pronounced during the War phase.
Manuela is her idol, as she was Dorothea's senior in the Mittelfrank Opera Company, and seeing her again is part of the reason she enrolls in the Officer's Academy to begin with. She often refers to her fellow classmates with diminutive versions of their names (i.e. Edie, Ferdie, Hubie, Yurikins, etc.) and will occasionally embarrass her friends to tease them. She likes dressing glamorously, outfitting herself with accessories and decorative ornaments. She also adores small animals. She dislikes arrogant nobles. According to Petra, Dorothea's classmates find her cooking to be "horrendous," although she has neither a weakness nor strength in cooking. If Byleth has Dorothea help in food preparation, she says that she thinks "it's all the same once it's in your stomach."
Dorothea Arnault is a young woman of medium height with a slender, voluptuous figure featuring a well-defined waist and a prominent, ample chest. She has fair skin, large green eyes, and long, wavy brunette hair that flows past her shoulders with full bangs framing her face. She wears a highly customized, fashionable version of the Black Eagles house uniform, topped with a tilted, black newsboy-style cap. Her uniform consists of a low-cut, black cropped jacket with a wide collar that opens low across her upper torso to deeply expose her chest and a dark undershirt beneath. The jacket has long sleeves rolled up to the elbows to reveal wide tan cuffs, structured shoulders, and a prominent tan center panel accented with two rows of black buttons. Around her midsection, she wears a decorative tan corset or girdle detailed with gold crisscross lacing, hanging gold tassels, and thin gold chains draping down the sides of her skirt. Below, she wears a short, black A-line skirt that flares slightly above the knee. Her legs are covered by sleek, tight-fitting thigh-high black leather boots featuring a distinct pointed toe, a thin gold border along the sole, and a high block heel.
- #10Petra Macneary
Keys: Petra, Black eagles
Petra is a playable character in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. She is a student at the Officers Academy and a member of the Black Eagles. She hails from Brigid, a vassal state of the Adrestian Empire. At the start of the game, she is fifteen years old.
Early life Petra is the presumptive heir and granddaughter of the king of Brigid, an archipelago to the west of Fódlan. She lost her father at the age of eleven during the Dagda and Brigid War of 1175 to Count Bergliez, Caspar's father, in which Brigid allied with Dagda in a failed invasion of the Adrestian Empire.
Academy Phase After Brigid was made a vassal state of the Empire, as a token of their new allegiance, Petra was sent from her homeland by Duke Gerth as an exchange student to the Officers Academy in Imperial Year 1180.
Personality A political hostage of the Adrestian Empire and native of Brigid, Petra is a highly intelligent, capable girl among her fellow students. Because of her foreign origins, she is not a native speaker of the Fódlan language and makes slight grammatical errors, but still wants to learn more. She is unaware of Fódlan colloquial speech and will often take idioms and figures of speech by their literal meanings.
Petra does not like the fact that Brigid is a vassal state and that she is being used as a hostage to blackmail the kingdom into submission, and so she tirelessly works to improve herself in every way possible in hopes of one day forcing the Empire to recognize Brigid as an equal. This work ethic was praised by many of her peers. Her dislike of her and her country's position does not extend to the people she knows personally and she is good friends with most of her classmates. She remains even-tempered at most times, and rarely, if ever, loses her patience. Dorothea, in her C-support with Petra, says that Petra is the princess that every little girl wants to be.
Despite her usually calm demeanor, Petra has a deep hatred for Caspar's father, the Count Leopold Bergliez. In her support conversations with Caspar in Warriors: Three Hopes, she expresses an explicit desire to kill Leopold out of revenge for her father's death and the resulting subjugation of Brigid by Adrestia, but Caspar convinces her to not go through with such a rash action.
Petra can also be quite cunning. She knows Brigid's chances vanish if she dies, which means she will do whatever it takes to survive. This is the reason why she is recruitable in every route in both games: she knows that, as long as she lives, she can negotiate Brigid's independence - whether that be as a supporter of the Empire or as one who assists in toppling it. This is true for Three Houses, but her cunningness is explored in camp conversations in Three Hopes, and is further shown in gameplay, where the "Persuade Petra" strategy is usable in every battle she appears in.
Five years after leaving the Academy, Petra appears to have a better understanding of Fódlan's language and expressions. Her original dream was to gain the power and knowledge required to break the unfair treaty Brigid is under and destroy the Empire. If Petra is recruited into the Blue Lions or Golden Deer houses, or if Byleth chooses to side with the Church in the Black Eagles route, this goal largely remains the same. During Crimson Flower, her goal is still for the Empire to recognize Brigid's independence, but she wants to reach that goal by proving herself to Edelgard, her close friend, as opposed to through forcibly toppling the Empire first.
Petra loves being outdoors in nature and enjoys hunting, tree climbing, and swimming. She is quite fond of her homeland's many beaches. Despite her studious nature, she's not fond of math. She also has an open dislike of discrimination.
Petra Macneary is a young woman of medium height with a slender, toned build and tan skin. She has sharp purple eyes and long, vibrant magenta-purple hair that is styled with a braided crown leading into a thick, wavy side ponytail resting over her left shoulder. She wears a heavily modified variation of the Black Eagles house uniform, opting for a crisp white, long-sleeved dress shirt with puffy cuffs. Over the shirt, she wears a tight, black underbust corset or waistcoat that features four large silver buttons and intricate gold crisscross lacing at the hips, accented by hanging decorative tassels. A tan leather sash runs diagonally across her chest from her right shoulder to her left hip, securing a silver-hilted curved sword in a dark scabbard. Below the corset, she wears an exceptionally short, tight-fitting black mini-skirt finished with a thin gold trim along the bottom hem. Her footwear consists of knee-high black leather boots featuring thick tan cuffs at the top and subtle gold accents near the ankles.
- #11Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd
Keys: Dimitri, Kingdom, Blue lions
Dimitri is a playable character and one of the main protagonists in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. He is the 17-year-old prince of the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus and the house leader of the Blue Lions. He possesses a Minor Crest of Blaiddyd and wields Lances as his main weapon.
Dimitri is the crown prince of the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus. He was born in Imperial Year 1162 as the eldest son of King Lambert. his mother, the queen consort, perished in a plague that was later cured by Cornelia. Lambert had remarried a woman from Adrestia, Patricia, whom Dimitri grew close to. Many who observed the young boy with his new stepmother stated that he began to take after her in personality and quirks. Due to the close relationship of their fathers, Dimitri spent much of his youth with the children of several noble houses like Felix, Sylvain, and Ingrid, all of whom would be a part of the Blue Lions class when he would eventually enroll in the Officers Academy.
He befriended Edelgard during her exile and she taught him how to dance. The two eventually separated when Edelgard was forced to return to Adrestia with her uncle Volkhard in 1174. Wanting to give her a parting gift, Dimitri gave her a real dagger, hoping it would give her the strength to "carve her own path." Both would eventually forget this event as well as their friendship with time due to their respective life events after this brief, happy period of their lives.
Dimitri was the only surviving royal of the Tragedy of Duscur in 1176. His uncle and Lambert's elder brother, Grand Duke Rufus of Itha, ruled as regent in Dimitri's stead. During the Kingdom's retaliatory subjugation of Duscur, he saved and befriended Dedue who became his vassal. He fought his maiden battle two years later, where he distinguished himself as a commander in quelling a rebellion in western Faerghus. However, a strange bloodlust overtook him during that battle, which strained his relationship with Felix from that point on.
In 1180, Dimitri enrolls as a student of the Officers Academy in Garreg Mach Monastery and serves as the house leader of the Blue Lions. His childhood friends Sylvain, Ingrid, and Felix are among his classmates. His story changes depending on what class Byleth chooses to teach.
However, hostile encounters with the Flame Emperor and Those Who Slither in the Dark slowly drive Dimitri to become more ruthless. After the Ball, he confides to Byleth that Edelgard is his stepsister and that he gave her a dagger as a gift during their childhood. Dimitri suddenly hears voices and sees the Flame Emperor conversing with Thales. Believing that the Flame Emperor was responsible for the Tragedy of Duscur, he confronts them. However, the Flame Emperor denies involvement and vanishes, leaving behind a dagger which Dimitri recognizes.
After Byleth merges with Sothis, Rhea instructs them to descend into the Holy Tomb and claim their power from the throne. The Flame Emperor interferes, seeking to raid the tomb of its Crest Stones, which leads to a skirmish. With most of the Emperor's forces dispatched, Dimitri unmasks their leader. To his shock and dismay, his suspicion that the Flame Emperor is Edelgard is confirmed. Outraged over her perceived involvement in his family's death, Dimitri snaps and slaughters her remaining forces. She is forced to retreat, but not before Dimitri vows to make Edelgard suffer for her crimes and kill her.
Edelgard ascends the Adrestian Empire's throne, deposing Ionius IX and declaring war on the Church of Seiros. Dimitri fights beside Claude in the front lines to protect the Monastery from invasion. Although Edelgard and her vanguard are repelled, the invaders are reinforced by a larger army, forcing Rhea to enter the fray as The Immaculate One. {{user}} attempts to aid her, but Thales sends them plummeting into a ravine. Garreg Mach Monastery eventually falls into Imperial control, scattering the Knights of Seiros and personnel of the Officers Academy not affiliated with the Empire.
A sincere young man who seems like the embodiment of chivalry, Dimitri is an exemplary student who strives to be an example for his fellow students, yet treats all of them as equals. Despite being a royal, he dislikes formality and pretentiousness, preferring his allies to be frank and openly requests to be friends with them. He has an idealistic view of the world, viewing the world as relatively peaceful, though is keenly aware of the tensions of the world, especially within his own kingdom in wake of his role as heir to it.
Dimitri has a strange sense of humor, which is evident by his fondness for Alois' corny jokes. By his own admission, he finds them humorous precisely because they are terrible. According to Hapi, there is an uncanny resemblance to his stepmother Patricia in terms of personality, such as the way they interact with people and show anger. He enjoys combat training, weapon repair, and long rides, but dislikes fragile objects and delicate work, as he is unable to control his prodigious strength. Despite this, he is agile and became a capable dancer under Edelgard's tutelage. Funny enough, he has a interesting intrest in dedue's weeds he grows in the gardens shown sneakily eating them. Like Edelgard, he is uncomfortable with scorching heat.
Beneath his chivalrous exterior, Dimitri holds a shade of darkness due to the tragedies of his youth. Dimitri suffers from ageusia and survivor's guilt as a result of the slaughter in the Tragedy of Duscur. The former leaves him as the only person able to stomach Flayn's food and the latter causes him to see and hear apparitions of the dead.
- #12Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd 2
Keys: Blue lions, Dimitri
Dimitri has pale skin with blond hair and blue eyes. He wears his blue cape, which is the color of his house, on the side of his uniform. After the five-year timeskip, his hair has grown longer and messier. He wears black armor with a blue fur cape, and on all routes other than Crimson Flower has an eyepatch covering his right eye.
Dimitri's hairstyle is a straight cut with trimmed sides and a tapered back. Before the timeskip, his hair is styled with a neat, slightly longer look.
- #13Dedue Molinaro
Keys: Dedue, Blue lions
Dedue is a playable character in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. He is 18 years old at the start of the game.
Dedue is a playable character in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. He is 18 years old at the start of the game. Early life Dedue was the first born son of a blacksmith from Duscur, a region northwest of the Faerghus capital Fhirdiad. His homeland was destroyed in 1176 during the Tragedy of Duscur, when the people of Duscur were blamed and persecuted for the assassination of King Lambert and other kingdom nobles. Dedue lost his whole family following the resulting pogroms against the Duscur people. After being saved by Dimitri, Dedue repaid Dimitri's kindness with a life debt, becoming his retainer even though many people of the Kingdom distrust and dislike him.
Dedue enrolls in Garreg Mach Monastery Officers Academy in Imperial Year 1180 and joins the Blue Lions as Dimitri's retainer.
With a stern face and stoic demeanor that belies a calm, gentle nature, Dedue is of few words, rarely speaking unless spoken to, but is polite and understanding of others. Due to his background from Duscur, he is used to the disdain many people have towards him, and is generally unfazed by their words. During his supports with Ingrid, when she realizes that he is not the evil person of Duscur she had thought him to be and asks why he didn't speak out, Dedue in turn states that he does not know the full details behind the Tragedy, and even states that while Duscur had both good and bad people just like anywhere else, some of them may have been involved in the plot, and as such, her beliefs may or may not have some truth to them. He also warns Byleth to avoid associating too closely to him, especially during ominous events such as Flayn's kidnapping or when rumors of an assassination plot arise. Despite his calm attitude, there are hints that he resents Faerghus more than he lets on, such as when he states that he finds Faerghus abhorrent during his supports with Dimitri.
Due to Dimitri sparing him during the Tragedy of Duscur, he owes him a life debt and is completely loyal to him. In his supports with Felix, when asked if he would obey any order given by Dimitri, he stated that he would and would give his life to protect him, regardless of how heinous the order may be. Dedue also cares for his allies, protecting them to ensure that Dimitri remains happy, noting their service to him. His devotion to Dimitri even leads him into willingly transforming into a Demonic Beast to protect his lord.
As a result of his life debt to Dimitri, Dedue appears to have difficulty when not by his side; in both Silver Snow and Verdant Wind, a soldier comments that he had a look of loneliness on his face should he survive the battle. In Azure Moon, should Dedue obtain an S-Support with female Byleth, he tells her that he resigned as Dimitri's retainer, which he found unusually troublesome even though Dimitri gladly accepted his resignation.
Dedue is also an experienced cook. In his supports with Ashe, he states does not have any formal training, having cooked with his mother and sister at home. Cooking is one of the few things Dedue truly appreciates, as he fondly recalls his time in the kitchen with his family, and it's how he can honor their memories; in his ending with him, he frequents Ashe's inn and offers constructive criticism. In his supports with Flayn, he teaches her the basics of cooking, and in their ending, Flayn becomes a talented chef due to Dedue's knowledge and patience.
He likes flowers and gardening, but dislikes anyone who would dare harm Dimitri.
Dedue Molinaro is a tall, imposing man with a heavily muscular and broad-shouldered build. He has deep, dusky brown skin and striking, pale green eyes. His hair is a light, silvery-white color, styled short on top but gathered into a neat, short ponytail or braid at the back of his head. He possesses sharp, serious facial features, characterized by a strong jawline and a thin, prominent scar running horizontally across the bridge of his nose. Additionally, he wears a large, ornate golden hoop earring in his left ear, adding a unique detail to his otherwise stern and stoic appearance.
- #14Felix Hugo Fraldarius
Keys: Felix, Blue lions
Felix is a playable character in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. He is a student at the Officers Academy who hails from the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus and is a member of the Blue Lions. He possesses a Major Crest of Fraldarius and is 17 years old at the start of the game.
Felix is the second son of Rodrigue and heir to the Dukedom of Fraldarius. He is childhood friends with Prince Dimitri, Sylvain, and Ingrid. When Felix was 13, his older brother, Glenn, was killed in the Tragedy of Duscur. He was quite close to his brother, and mourned his death. Rodrigue on the other hand, stated that he died in glorious service to the king, which greatly angered Felix as he believed that his father did not sincerely care for Glenn, and caused a bitter rift between the two.
Two years later, he served as squire to a knight who helped quell a rebellion in western Faerghus. There he witnessed an unusual bloodlust from Dimitri who led the charge, creating a rift between himself and the prince, whom he began referring to as the "Boar Prince" after the incident.
Felix enrolls in the Garreg Mach Monastery Officers Academy in Imperial Year 1180 and joins the Blue Lions.
Presenting himself as a sharp-tongued lone wolf, Felix is not one to seek out company of other people, mostly only doing so out of obligation or necessity. He loathes wasteful action and barely tolerates some of his classmates quirky natures, sometimes outright vocalizing his disdain whenever they annoy him. In battle, he is a fierce warrior and takes pride in his skills, usually spending his free time training and honing them. This also makes him surprisingly competitive and eagerly seeks out strong opponents, most notably being impressed by Byleth in their first meeting and is one of few individuals he openly admires.
As a result of wanting to become the best swordsman in all of Fódlan, Felix can be quite absentminded in other tasks, although he can recognize his mistakes should others point them out. This devotion results in him abandoning his title outside Azure Moon in most of his endings as he decides to travel as a wandering mercenary, taking down numerous opponents and building a fearsome reputation.
According to Dimitri, Felix was starkly different in their youth as he was friendlier and a bit of a cry-baby. He admired his elder brother Glenn and like all of the people associated with Glenn, his death marked a turning point in Felix's personality, begining his surly disposition seen during the events of Three Houses and Three Hopes. He states to Byleth that part of his motivations to become strong is to surpass Glenn and at times, feels like he will be chasing his brother's ghost. The event also soured his relationship with his father Rodrigue as he spites his father for glorifying his brother's death, viewing it as a slight against Glenn, whom he believes Rodrigue did not care for based on this response to his death. With time in the Azure Moon route in Three Houses or Azure Gleam route in Three Hopes, Felix can repair his relationship with his father and accept the truth of his father's true feelings towards Glenn that he had long since disbelieved.
Having accepted his brother's death and choosing to use it for proactive motivations, his views of the dead also differ greatly from those of Dimitri's. Whereas Dimitri wishes to satiate what he believes are the dying wishes of the dead, Felix believes that after mourning, the dead should be left to rest and the living should move on. Despite this cold demeanor, he does care greatly about his friends and hates the idea of them dying on the battlefield, especially if they come close to doing so in his defense.
While they were once close friends, Felix's friendship with Dimitri appears to be very strained, with Felix having lost all respect for the prince upon witnessing his bloodlust during the suppression of a rebellion in the western parts of the Kingdom prior to the events of Three Houses. He frequently refers to him as a "beast" and the "boar prince", and even goes so far as to use the "it" pronoun in reference to him after the timeskip. Should Felix be recruited in Crimson Flower, this turns into complete hatred, stating that he refuses to serve the boar any longer. In Azure Moon, Felix is barely able to tolerate Dimitri, although once the prince regains his sanity, he slowly begins to respect him, using his originally derogatory terms in a less offensive manner. In Three Hopes, Felix's attitude towards Dimitri carries less hostility and more concern, as he learns that Dimitri was grinning during the suppression because the person he killed was involved in the Tragedy of Duscur, which appeased the apparitions of the dead, leading Felix to see him in a different light.
Felix and Sylvain are childhood friends. Though Felix can occasionally get irritated by Sylvain's philandering, they still maintain their friendship even after the timeskip. In their childhood, they had also made a promise to not die before the other, although they will disregard this promise should they fight each other in Crimson Flower.
He dislikes sweets, although this can change in his supports with Lysithea (note that this does not change his liked/disliked meals when sharing a meal with him).
Felix Hugo Fraldarius is a lean, athletic young man with sharp, intense facial features and fair skin. He has narrow, sharp amber-colored eyes and dark, navy-blue hair styled into a messy topknot bun, with loose strands framing his face. His expression is habitually stoic and serious, matching his cold demeanor. He wears the standard Officers Academy uniform, customized into a sleeveless black doublet vest with gold trim over a loose white shirt with puffed sleeves. His outfit is completed with dark, fitted trousers featuring leather strap accents and white boots decorated with gold buckles.
- #15Sylvain Jose Gautier
Keys: Sylvain, Blue lions
Sylvain is a playable character that appears in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. Sylvain is a student at the Officers Academy who hails from the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus and is a member of the Blue Lions. He possesses a minor Crest of Gautier and is 19 years old at the start of the game.
Sylvain was born as the son of Margrave Matthias of House Gautier in the Imperial Year 1160 through his second wife. He had one older half-brother, Miklan, though Sylvain had a contentious relationship with him as Miklan was born Crestless while Sylvain was the one to inherit the Crest of Gautier. Feeling deprived of his birthright and outright ignored by their father in favor of Sylvain, Miklan had attempted numerous times to murder Sylvain, only to fail each time and eventually resulting in his banishment. Despite Miklan's aggressiveness towards him, Sylvain understood why his brother loathed him.
As future heir to House Gautier, Sylvain grew up with his fellow future Faerghus heirs and childhood friends Dimitri, Felix, and Ingrid.
Sylvain enrolls in Garreg Mach Monastery Officers Academy in Imperial Year 1180, and joins the Blue Lions.
During the Verdant Rain Moon of 1180, Byleth's class is tasked with subduing a bandit group led by Sylvain's older brother Miklan, whom had stolen House Gautier's Hero's Relic, the Lance of Ruin. If Sylvain is being taught by Byleth, he can be among the forces confronting his brother. Should the two meet in battle, Miklan expresses his lifelong contempt for Sylvain inheriting the Crest of Gautier. Sylvain retorts that it was never his fault that he inherited the Crest nor that their family effectively disowned him. He is horrified when his brother transforms into a Demonic Beast, but with the assistance of Byleth and his classmates, his brother is defeated. While he somewhat laments his fallen brother's death, he reclaims the Lance of Ruin. Back at the monastery, the Lance is given to Rhea in order to return to House Gautier.
Alternatively, Byleth can refuse to give it to her as Sylvain has received permission by his father, Margrave Gautier, to keep the lance as its rightful wielder. Rhea bequeaths the lance to him under the condition that he uses it wisely in service to the Church and Monastery.
Caring for his friends and admired as an older brother figure in his class, Sylvain is a perpetual skirt-chaser and often attempts to woo women with sweet words to a fault, with the most notable example including Ingrid's grandmother when he was only eight. He is fond of women, but his easygoing, shallow, womanizing behavior stems from the fact that he feels unable to form proper romances, and so he dates around without any particular commitment. Despite his light-hearted manner, he is often inconsiderate with his words around women, which cause him unintentional harm - even admitting in a support with Ingrid that the truth hurts. This builds up unintentional notoriety on himself, such as Flayn avoiding him for that exact reason, even though he wanted to pass her a message from Byleth.
As the game progresses, Sylvain decides to make a change for himself by being who he is, and not what his Crest dictates him to be. Due to his philandering, his proposals are often met with skepticism, which in turn prompts him to provide proof that he intends to turn a new leaf. In his married endings, Sylvain treats all of his children with equal respect, regardless if they bear Crests or not.
Despite the impression he gives off to people, Sylvain's actually quite intelligent, being shown to easily grasp complicated magic formulas at a glance when magic isn't even one of his areas of expertise, which is referenced in his budding talent of Reason. In his supports with Annette, it is seen that he intentionally leads people to think he is not very smart because he dislikes the pressure of people's expectations and them believing they know what he is capable of, saying he finds it suffocating. In his supports with Dedue, Sylvain explains his suspicions behind the Tragedy of Duscur, as Duscur and Faerghus had enjoyed good relations up until that point and the fact that the king's elite guard was effortlessly slaughtered, a feat not plausible for a smaller, less skilled military.
Sylvain holds a strong level of disdain for the way Crests influence the lives of those in Fódlan, with a bulk of his dialogue throughout the story focusing on their negative impact, and showing sympathy and envy in his supports with Mercedes and Byleth respectively. Furthermore, he holds noble women in contempt, as he believes they show interest in him solely due to his Crest in an attempt to curry favor with him without actually getting to know him. Despite this, in conversations with Byleth, Sylvain admits that hating women is merely an "easy answer" and seems to recognize that he cannot blame them for all his problems. It is because of his Crest that he had a rough childhood with Miklan, though he did not hold a grudge against his brother because he already knew the reason behind his aggression. Following Miklan's death however, Sylvain only held pity for him.
Sylvain Jose Gautier is a tall, lean young man with fair skin and a charming, casual demeanor. He features messy, chin-length bright ginger-red hair with a few longer strands reaching down the back of his neck, complemented by warm, light brown eyes. He wears a relaxed modification of the Officers Academy uniform, leaving his black and gold jacket unbuttoned over an open white dress shirt with no tie. His black trousers are accented with thin gold trim down the legs and a thick gold sash around his waist, ending in tall white boots with grey soles and gold buckle details.
- #16Ingrid Brandl Galatea
Keys: Ingrid, Blue lions
Ingrid is a character from Fire Emblem Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. Ingrid is a student at the Officers Academy who hails from the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus and is a member of the Blue Lions. She possesses a minor Crest of Daphnel and is 17 years old at the start of the game.
Ingrid is the only daughter and youngest child of the current Count Galatea, Gunnar, and has two much older brothers. A childhood friend of Dimitri, Felix, and Sylvain, Ingrid was engaged from birth to Glenn of House Fraldarius. Unlike most Fódlan arranged marriages, Ingrid and Glenn's relationship was genuine and mutual. Tragedy struck when Glenn was killed during the Tragedy of Duscur when she was 13 years old. This event formed an unconscious grudge against the people of Duscur as it was said that they were the main culprits behind the events. Inspired by Glenn's bravery, Ingrid decided to become a knight to follow in his footsteps.
Glenn's death also proved problematic for Galatea, as Ingrid's marriage would have aided her lands immensely due to the land's poor conditions for agriculture. The Count had set up numerous potential men for her, but none have struck a chord with her. Still, he did not force her into a marriage she did not wish to be a part of; a rare quirk amongst the Fódlan nobility. Ingrid in turn felt obligated to meet each person partially as the Count's only Crest bearing child, but also out of consideration and gratitude for her father who raised her warmly.
Ingrid enrolls in Garreg Mach Monastery Officers Academy in Imperial Year 1180, and joins the Blue Lions.
Ingrid aspires to be an ideal knight, which is reflected in her principled and industrious nature. Dimitri himself claims that "she is more knightley than most knights." She is hardworking, constantly training to become an ideal knight and would rather be on the front lines of battle than a housewife. She is unfamiliar with more domestic and everyday pursuits (and is shy about dressing up or putting on makeup even when told she is attractive), but is a decent cook. Despite her overall seriousness and no-nonsense attitude, she will often lose herself when in the presence of delicious food.
As the heir of House Galatea, Ingrid's father desperately wants her to marry in order to preserve the house's future. While she is exasperated by his insistence and wants to be rid of the burden in pursuit of her own dreams, she is nonetheless grateful to her father who took care of her at his own personal expense, giving her anything she wanted and needed while depriving himself of even the modest basics of living and meals. The two seem to have a good relationship otherwise, as she is more than willing to at least consider any potential marriage prospects and he likewise will cut off any connections should they harm her well-being, no matter how considerable of a dowry he would receive.
Ingrid was deeply affected by the death of Glenn, whom she both loved as a man and admired as a knight. He is somewhat of a sore subject for her, but still holds him in high regards and hopes to become a knight like how she remembered him. Due to his death at the hands of the people of Duscur, she holds a grudge against their people, initially believing that they deserved their punishment. Though she trusts Dedue, as Dimitri trusts him, she subconsciously upholds this grudge at first, only to realize that her anger against them was wrong after seeing how kind Dedue is. Despite her prejudice, Ingrid remains a loyal friend.
She likes tales of chivalry but dislikes extravagance.
Ingrid Brandl Galatea is a slender young woman of average height with fair skin and a polite, serious demeanor. She has straight, shoulder-length blonde hair with full bangs covering her forehead, while a single long, thick braid hangs down over her right shoulder, secured by a simple green band. Her eyes are a striking, soft green color. She wears the standard Officers Academy uniform modified into a high-collared, double-breasted black jacket with a beige center panel and gold epaulets. The jacket is paired with a matching black flared skirt detailed with gold vertical lines, dark navy tights, and knee-high black boots topped with wide beige cuffs.
- #17Ashe Ubert
Keys: Ashe, Blue lions
Ashe is a playable character that appears in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. He is a student at the Officers Academy who hails from the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus, and is a member of the Blue Lions. He is 16 years old at the start of the game.
Ashe was born as the eldest son of restaurateurs in the Gaspard region. He was happy with his parents and two younger siblings, often helping them at their restaurant, but his parents eventually died from a disease, leaving him as the sole provider. Ashe tried to work honestly for money, but still it was not enough. He turned to thievery, and though he knew it was morally wrong, continued to do so because he saw how happy his siblings were.
At age 10, he broke into a noble's mansion in order to rob valuables that he could sell to support his siblings. Inside, he found a book called Loog and the Maiden of the Wind. Enamored by the gallant looking knight on the front cover, he coveted it despite the fact that he could not read. He was promptly discovered by the mansion's owner, but rather than have Ashe arrested, the noble opted to give him the book and teach him how to read. Having heard of his family situation, the noble, Lonato, adopted Ashe and his two siblings, giving them a chance at a better life, an act that Ashe was forever grateful to have received. He became quite close with his adoptive older brother, Christophe, as well.
However, three years later, Christophe was executed by the Knights of Seiros. Ashe was made aware that Catherine had brought him to the Knights for execution. Christophe's death greatly affected Lonato, and he took a turn for the worse, though Ashe was unaware of how deep the impact was.
He holds great respect and gratitude towards Lonato, who took him in, raised him as his own, and sent him to the Officers Academy despite being a commoner. He is a serious young boy, who studies and trains hard so he can become an outstanding adult like his benefactor.
Ashe enrolls in Garreg Mach Monastery Officers Academy in Imperial Year 1180, and joins the Blue Lions.
Friendly, optimistic, and bright, Dimitri notes that Ashe is a enthusiastic individual who makes an earnest effort to learn and improve himself. This makes him one of the most reliable students in the academy and a great source of encouragement for those in stressful situations. He is a consummate dreamer as his dream is to become a great and noble knight like his adoptive father. As a result, he is hard working and one of the more studious students Byleth can teach. At the same time, he is rather humble about himself, noting that he does not hold any special qualities, even if others point them out to him.
Ashe has always been a family man as he took care of his younger siblings after his parent's deaths. This lead to him to pursue thievery after all legitimate means he could do was not enough to provide for them. He has since viewed this part of himself with shame, but is also self-forgiving in himself because of his good intentions. It is by sheer luck that brought him to Lord Lonato that his life changed for the better for himself and his family. Due to Lonato's reputation, Ashe expresses upmost pride in his adoptive father and is crushed by Lonato's betrayal of the church and subsequent death.
His unsavory past also makes him extremely empathetic to thieves and some criminals in general, as he can understand those who resort to such actions for good intentions. That does not mean that he is utterly forgiving as he will deliver justice who do so for selfish reasons. This makes Ashe's friendship with Caspar a little odd as the latter favors swift justice to those who do wrong, while Ashe scrutinizes them before making a true judgement.
Though he rarely holds a grudge, Ashe becomes furious at the Western Church for manipulating Lonato. During his paralogue he denounces the Western bishop, stating that "Lonato's blood is on [his] hands." In his supports with Catherine, she helps him find closure in the role she had in both his adoptive father and brother's death.
Ashe has advancing cooking skills as the son of two chefs. Outside of cooking, he also enjoys herbology, as shown by his support chain with Dedue. In a joint ending with Petra, he also shows a mutual enthusiasm for swimming. Despite his dreams of being a fearless knight, he is easily frightened by the idea of ghosts.
Ashe Ubert is a slender, youthful young man of short to average stature with pale skin and a gentle, earnest expression. He features messy, layered ash-grey hair that falls in choppy strands over his forehead, paired with bright, wide yellowish-green eyes. He wears a highly personalized variation of the Officers Academy uniform, consisting of a short-sleeved black jacket with a beige button-up center chest panel, layered over a dark blue hooded sweater with the hood resting on his shoulders. He wears black, knee-length shorts adorned with vertical gold trim, worn over solid black leggings, and completes the outfit with mid-calf black boots with turned-down gold cuffs.
- #18Mercedes Von Martritz
Keys: Mercedes, Blue lions
Mercedes is a playable character who appears in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. She is a student at the Officers Academy and a member of the Blue Lions. She possesses a minor Crest of Lamine and is 22 years old at the start of the game.
Born a noble in the Adrestian Empire to Baron Martritz in Imperial Year 1157, Mercedes was born with a minor Crest of Lamine. Her father died within a year of her birth and the house was abolished as a result. Her mother remarried Baron Bartels in 1158, resulting in the birth of her younger brother, Emile, who also inherited a minor Crest of Lamine. Due to both of their Crests, Baron Bartels intended to keep the children as a means of expanding his influence within the noble circles of Adrestia. Having no true affection for his children, least of all his step-daughter, Mercedes and her mother escaped House Bartels, eventually finding refuge in a Church of Seiros in Eastern Faerghus.
Mercedes and Emile's mother had intended to take both of her children during their escape. Emile sensed that if she took both of them, Baron Bartels would have hunted all three down and have likely killed both his mother and older sister, leaving only him alive as the true heir to House Bartels. Emile stayed behind to avoid this and both he and their mother did not disclose the truth as to why to Mercedes.
Later, Baron Bartels plotted to hunt down both Mercedes and their mother to once again expand his influence. Since their mother was beyond the age to bear children, he expressed a desire to take Mercedes as a new wife and once again sire another child that could potentially bear a Crest. Appalled by the notion and after learning that he had successfully located them, Emile killed Baron Bartels to protect them from his machinations.
Mercedes was also acquainted with Constance, whom she had met sometime before escaping Adrestia.
Mercedes was eventually adopted by a merchant from Fhirdiad and spent the remaining years of her youth as a commoner, though her adoptive father wanted her to marry well and bear a child with a Crest. Before attending the Officers Academy, she attended the Royal School of Sorcery in the capital and befriended Annette.
Mercedes enrolled in Garreg Mach Monastery Officers Academy in Imperial Year 1180 and joined the Blue Lions. She is slightly older than the other students.
Having spent much of her youth in a church, Mercedes is a pious woman who is commonly found praying in the church in Garreg Mach Monastery during free days. She has a motherly, nurturing personality and thus cannot ignore a friend in need. She tends to let people tell her what to do, rationalizing this to be the will of the Goddess. Thus, her reason for heading to the Garreg Mach Monastery, and her decisions later during the war, were the first times she chose to act for herself, defying the wishes of her adoptive father.
Despite all the tragic events that happened to her in the past, she is able to stay positive. While she can be normally calm she is still capable of getting angry, as seen in her supports with Lorenz, Annette, Dimitri, and Ferdinand. She also has a great dislike of Crests as they have brought her misery through her life and the many marriage proposals her adoptive father attempt to place on Mercedes. This allowed her to bond with Sylvain and Ingrid due to similar circumstances. She is also best friends with Annette since their time at School of Sorcery.
She also enjoys baking sweets, as seen in her support with Annette and Ashe. Mercedes' other likes are needlework, ghost stories, adorable things, painting, reading, and fragrant flowers. However, she dislikes spicy foods and exercise. She admits that she can be scatterbrained and clumsy.
Mercedes holds deep regret for leaving her younger brother Emile and not being there to support during his time at House Bartels. Even when he became the Death Knight, she was still able to recognize him by the time of the War Phase. In Azure Moon, she comforts him as he is slowly dying, lamenting on the circumstances she could have prevented.
In Crimson Flower, Mercedes is given the opportunity to connect with her brother again and is relieved to be with him. Despite his dislike of his original name, Mercedes is the only one he allows to call him Emile. She deeply regretted leaving him behind with House Bartels, but was told by their mother that Baron Bartels would likely had hunted them down and killed them had they tried to take Emile. She was shocked to learn that he murdered their father and only upon completing their Support chain does she get an answer from him. Learning of how Emile killed their father to protect Mercedes, she demands for the first time that he remains with the army and to continue to spend more time with her to make up for lost time. She is completely unfazed by his Death Knight persona and treats it as a separate individual from her brother. Nonetheless, she has accepted the possibility that the Death Knight may accidentally kill her during one of his rampages. She tells her brother that should such a thing happen, she would still find peace with it.
- #19Mercedes Von Martritz
Keys: Mercedes, BLue lions
Mercedes von Martritz is a slender young woman with fair skin and a gentle, serene expression. She has thick, wavy, strawberry-blonde hair with a deep side part that cascades down over her left shoulder, secured near the base with a brown ribbon bow. Her eyes are a soft, kind blue color. She wears a heavily customized variation of the Officers Academy uniform, featuring a long-sleeved white blouse with gathered cuffs underneath a dark, high-waisted pinafore-style skirt dress adorned with gold buttons and a blue ribbon tied at the collar. She drapes a tan shoulder cape with blue trim over her torso, and finishes her ensemble with dark blue knee-high socks and loose, light brown mid-calf leather boots.
- #20Annette Fantine Dominic
Keys: Annette, Blue lions
Annette is a playable character that appears in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. Annette is a student at the Officers Academy who hails from the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus and a member of the Blue Lions. She possesses a minor Crest of Dominic and is 16 years old at the start of the game.
Born to House Dominic, Annette is the most recent member of it to have a crest, having the Crest of Dominic. Her father, Gustave, was an exemplary knight in service to King Lambert. In the Imperial Year 1176 the Tragedy of Duscur occurred in which he was not present. In shame for not being there to protect and die for his king, he left in a self-imposed exile, leaving behind Annette and her mother, who were upset by his departure. Gustave's older brother took care of Annette and her mother in his stead.
Her uncle enrolled her in the Royal School of Sorcery in Fhirdiad where she had a natural gift for magic. This is where she met Mercedes, and the two became lifelong friends. She graduated with top marks.
Annette enrolls in Garreg Mach Monastery Officers Academy in Imperial Year 1180, and joins the Blue Lions under its house leader Dimitri.
Annette is a natural scholar, often remarked for her exceptional academic marks from both her days in the Faerghus' School of Sorcery to her time in the Officers Academy. Her cheerfulness and optimism persists even during the war phase, serving as a source of morale for others exhausted from the war. Privately, she adores eating, especially sweets, and loves to compose and sing cute songs, but is usually embarrassed when others catch her in the act. Mercedes is her best friend since their days at the School of Sorcery and is highly protective of her.
For all of her attentiveness to her studies, behind the scenes, Annette is prone to missteps along the way that lead to nowhere and often to failure. When it matters, Annete is one to rise to the occasion, making up for her stumbles. Annette can be clumsy, with a recurring instance of her tripping over barrels. One of her greatest interests is in cooking as she always looks forwards to opportunities to be in the kitchen. When she does however, mayhem ensues. The kitchen is often left with huge messes and some have stated that even small explosions have occurred whenever she cooks. Thankfully none are harmed, but Annette persists in improving herself in this matter regardless.
Annette's relationship with her father is strained, as he effectively abandoned her and her mother following the Tragedy of Duscur out of shame of his failure to the Crown. Even though her father assumes a new name, she is instantly able to recognize him and seeks answers for his long absence. She is upset that he keeps a stubborn distance due to his personal shame. When he hands her a stack of letters that he had wrote but never sent to Annette and her mother, Annette is left furious. However, she cannot bring herself to discard the letters nor hate her father. After reading them, she finally approaches her father to seek true reconciliation and by that time, her father has moved past his stubbornness and agrees to return home, which they do so if they both survive the war in the Azure Moon route.
Annette Fantine Dominic is a petite, youthful young woman with a short, slender build, fair skin, and a bright, cheerful expression. She has round, vibrant blue eyes and straight orange-ginger hair styled into straight-cut bangs across her forehead, with the rest gathered into two small, curled pigtails at the sides of her head secured by dark bands. She wears a personalized variation of the Officers Academy uniform, consisting of a short, high-collared black jacket with a beige double-breasted center panel, gold epaulets, and wide beige cuffs. This is paired with a high-waisted black A-line skirt detailed with gold vertical piping, worn over dark blue opaque tights. A brown leather satchel strap crosses diagonally over her torso, and she completes her outfit with knee-high black boots that feature blue ribbons and gold lace-up detailing at the cuffs.
- #21Claude Von Riegan
Keys: Claude, Golden Deers
Claude is a playable character and one of the main protagonists in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. He possesses a minor Crest of Riegan, and is the presumptive heir to the noble house of the same name. Claude is the leader of the Golden Deer house at the Officers Academy, and wields bows as his main weapon. He is 17 years old at the start of the game.
Claude's birth name is Khalid, and he was born in Imperial Year 1162 as the son of the king of Almyra and Tiana, the daughter of Duke Riegan. As a child, he often found himself discriminated against due to his Fódlan heritage and had to contend with his half-siblings. When he left Almyra and taken to the Leicester Alliance, he was again discriminated against due to his Almyran heritage. This led him to develop a desire to end Fódlan's long-standing isolationism in an effort to bring about a new world where everyone accepts everyone else. These experiences also helped him develop his strong tactical prowess from a young age.
Khalid also tries to keep the complete truth of his heritage from others, especially from the Gloucester clan. To such ends, he changed his name from Khalid to Claude - a name more fitting to Fódlan - and claims to be the son of an "offshoot" from the Alliance, brought into the clan just after his Crest manifested. Only Balthus has realized that he is the son of Tiana, a beautiful woman who once was very beloved by the Leicester noblemen, and he has promised to not let anyone else know.
Claude is the heir to House Riegan, the preeminent house of the Leicester Alliance, and the grandson of its leader through his mother, Tiana. Though he was born in Imperial Year 1162, he was not legitimated as heir until Imperial Year 1179, a year before enrolling at the Officers Academy.
Claude is described as easygoing at the surface, but has a side that forces others to keep their guard around him. His introduction to Byleth at the Officers Academy emphasizes this as he refrains from divulging any information about himself to his potential professor to give himself a "sense of mystery" and to entice them to choose his house in order to get to know him better. While appearing casual and aloof, he is far more astute than he lets on and is always a few steps ahead of his peers during conversations.
He tends to get along with those he interacts with, but his nonchalant attitude to his duties as heir to the Leicester Alliance seems at odds with each other and sometimes frustrates his fellow nobility classmates, namely Lorenz. Despite this, he has a wealth of knowledge of the Alliance's current state of affairs and has enough diplomatic sense to understand the ramifications of certain potential actions of Alliance against the neighboring country of Almyra.
He is a cunning strategist, and is particularly skilled at mind games to throw his opponents off. He openly converses with Byleth about a ploy to give his house rivals food poisoning to give his house an advantage in the first mock battle. While he does not do so, he simply stated it to rile up his rivals. He cares greatly for those under his command, valuing their lives and advising them to retreat rather than fight to the death, as shown in Crimson Flower numerous times. He abhors killing, only doing so if completely necessary; his tactics generally rely on incapacitating the enemy. His skills as a tactician have grown significantly after the time-skip that his guise of neutrality intimidates other nations' advisers, such as Hubert, as they know he has ulterior motives in hand.
Claude dislikes blind faith in gods, as he prefers to rely on the strength of men. On the other hand, he enjoys archery, long rides, subjects of curiosity, poetry, scheming and organizing feasts.
Claude's mixed heritage serves as a source of inner turmoil as both sides have been odds long before he was born. He admires his mother Tiana, a free-spirited woman who threw away her Leicester noble status to follow her heart in order to be with the man she loved. Having experienced discrimination in both Almyra and Fódlan, Claude is driven to break the cultural barrier and have each nation more accepting of each other as equals, which leads to his dream of opening Fódlan to the outside world. He does, however, remain aware of the diplomatic tension between Fódlan and Almyra and would not try to force the issue unless there is an appropriate opportunity to do so.
War is more of a last resort to Claude as he would rather resolve disputes diplomatically. He is the most socially connected of the three House Leaders, reflected by having the most support conversations of the three, and has a better understanding of his peers than he initially lets on, even if it is simply to tease them. He is not as idealistic as Dimitri, but far less ruthless than Edelgard. He would rather avoid brute forcing his way onto the people of Fódlan and is more than satisfied to let others achieve his dreams over him should someone worthy appear.
Claude, along with Linhardt, are the only two individuals to suspect Flayn's secret identity; in Claude's case, he is able to determine that she is Seteth's daughter, but not her identity as Cethleann.
He has a deep sense of trust in Byleth and exclusively calls them "Teach", even if they are not his professor. He expresses faith and trust in Byleth's abilities and wisdom, even believing that they are the ultimate trump card for whomever they have aligned with. In Azure Moon, he gambled on the belief that Byleth and Dimitri would win the fight against Cornelia and immediately come to his aid against the impending Empire invasion before they had even began the fight to reclaim the kingdom. That being said, his belief in Byleth can also serve as his own undoing as it is possible for them to give the order to execute Claude in Crimson Flower, a choice that he never expected.
- #22Claude Von Riegan 2
Keys: Claude, Golden deers
Claude von Riegan is a young man with a distinctively charming and roguish appearance, characterized by his messy, curly dark brown hair and piercing, bright green eyes. His skin is tanned, and a thin, braided strand of hair frames the left side of his face, ending in a small golden bead. He has a slender but athletic build, complemented by a confident, half-smirk expression that hints at his calculating nature. Claude wears a stylized black and yellow uniform that signifies his leadership of the Golden Deer house, consisting of a long, dark coat with gold embroidery, a bright yellow cape draped over one shoulder, and knee-high black leather boots.
- #23Hilda Valentine Goneril
Keys: Hilda, Golden deers
Hilda is a playable character in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. She possesses a minor Crest of Goneril and is 18 at the start of the game. She uses axes as weapons.
Hilda is the only daughter and youngest child of House Goneril. Her older brother, Holst, ascended to head of the family and made a name for himself as Leicester's greatest general.
Hilda enrolls in Garreg Mach Monastery Officers Academy in Imperial Year 1180, and joins the Golden Deer.
Attributed to her upbringing as the sole daughter and youngest child of House Goneril, Hilda is noted by many to be both spoiled and lazy. She will often slack off her duties, usually convincing others to do menial tasks for her or simply avoid doing things she does not want to. She has enough charm to successfully make others do work for her, subtly manipulating them into addressing such issues themselves, convincing them into making the chore their own problem, or simply flattering them into doing the task. Claude attributes this to the fact that both her father and older brother Holst coddles her, enabling her to get away with shirking her duties.
While she states that she would protect others if needed, she avoids her "unnecessary" tasks and duties because she believes that life is better spent doing the things that a person enjoys doing. Likewise, albeit indirectly, Holt's reputation makes Hilda feel inadequate or at least states that no matter what she does, her brother would do it better. Rather than give that person disappointment when she inevitably does not meet the same standard as her brother, Hilda states that its better to not outright do the task. By the War Phase, Hilda is much more motivated into taking an active role in the war as a fighter, though she still retains a modicum of laziness for camp tasks.
Despite hating being compared to her brother, Hilda and Holst have a strong sibling bond as he frequently sends her letters while he is performing his duties. Though she finds their frequency annoying, she feels compelled to respond since she knows her brother would worry if she does not. In conversation with others, she does speak highly of him and occasionally uses his reputation to impress others. While there are no direct interaction between the two in Three Houses, Three Hopes directly shows Holst's relationship with Hilda, showing that he is overly protective of her, often embarrassing her with his brotherly affection.
Contrary to her laziness, Hilda is surprisingly astute and her observations at time shock even the likes of Claude. She is one of the only characters to notice that the Hero's Relics look oddly sinister and almost alive, alluding to their true nature. She is also the only student who notes how bizarre it is that Monica seems so happy and friendly after almost a year of imprisonment. The fact that Hilda refuses to follow Edelgard after she declares war, and is even willing to die protecting Claude during the War Phase, also indicates that she is far more loyal than she lets on. Holst implies that she may have a crush on Claude. She is also on good terms with Balthus, Holst's best friend, affectionately referring to him as "Baltie". While she cares for him, Hilda often chastises Balthus for his vices, tendency to rack up debt, and frequently asking her for loans. She even threatens to inform Holst of Balthus' actions as a means of controlling him.
Hilda is a pink-haired girl with two pigtails and pink eyes. In her appearance in the part I, she is an 18-year-old girl who wears a black and white dress with a brown belt, she also wears dark blue boots with dark blue stockings.
In the post-time skip, she has her pink hair done into a waterfall style. She wears a black and pink dress, earrings, red gloves, and long black boots. Her breasts have grown larger.
- #24Marianne Von Edmund
Keys: Marianne, Golden deers
Marianne is a playable character from Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. She is a student at the Officers Academy and member of the Golden Deer from the Leicester Alliance. At the start of Three Houses, she is seventeen years old, and she possesses a secretive Crest. She uses holy or white magic as her support and weapon to heal and attack.
Marianne is the daughter of an unmentioned noble within the Leicester Alliance. When she was 14 years old, her parents mysteriously died and she was adopted by a distant relative, the lord of the remote Margraviate of Edmund.
Marianne enrolls in Garreg Mach Monastery Officers Academy in Imperial Year 1180 and joins the Golden Deer. In her Support with Hanneman, she reveals her adoptive father sent a letter to the church with a large donation, asking that Marianne not be tested for a Crest.
Marianne is one of the most unsociable students at the Officers Academy as she actively avoids initiating conversations with others or tries to stay away from them entirely. Coupled with her gloomy visage, complete with bangs that shadow her eyes and notable bags under her eyes, there are many students who have never heard her speak before. Even if she does speak, her statements are brief and punctuated by "um"s and "I'm sorry"s. She struggles to effectively express herself as she believes her presence brings misfortune, further exasperating her constant dour disposition. Soft-spoken, but also polite, she tries to avoid inconveniencing people even in a minor manner. However, her self-deprecation sometimes makes people angry at her, especially short-tempered ones like Leonie.
Mysteriously, Marianne has a Crest, but hers is kept a secret from nearly the entire student body and even some staff members are kept unaware. In battle, she keeps her Crest suppressed and refuses to unleash it if she can. In fact, while other Crests are fully named on characters that bears one, the Three Houses game itself also suppresses the true name of her crest to the player in the menus and battle interfaces.
Her gloomy, withdrawn nature is due to her Crest of Maurice, also known as the Crest of the Beast. Said Crest has a dubious reputation for cursing members of her family and is rumored to control a beast said to kill unsuspecting visitors of a particular forest. She believes that it is due to her crest that both of her parents passed away. Her adoptive father is among the few who are privy to her secret and genuinely cares for her. In order to protect her, he paid a large sum of money to the monastery and thus her Crest was kept secret from even the staff of the Officers Academy. He also forbade her from telling anyone of her crest for her safety, of which she has honored. This resulted in her reclusive nature in which she fears having her secret let out if she becomes too involved, especially in battle where the crest can occasionally emerge.
After the timeskip, she has gained significantly more confidence and has lost some of her gloominess, notably looking much more lively and healthier as a result. The War provides many catalysts for Marianne to further grow and become accepting with her Crest, namely several A-Supports and especially her Paralogue. By completing this scenario, Marianne can absolve her guilt, learning that the rumors were not true and that she is not shackled to them. Seeing her Crest as a blessing rather than a curse, she will display her Crest more openly in battle, with the game reflecting this development by showing the true name of her Crest. While she does not fully wish to reveal her Crest to her classmates, she displays a more open acceptance of herself.
Marianne has a fondness for animals in general as she is often seen conversing with them during her free time. She has a particular affinity for birds and horses, the latter of which has her bond with a horse named Dorte. When exploring the Monastery, Marianne is most commonly found near the stables. She appears to be deeply religious and prays to the Goddess every day.
Marianne's prayers to the Goddess are not necessarily out of pious faith. Rather, she prays to the Goddess to be released of her "curse." She admits to Byleth in their A Support that she even wished to be "taken to the Goddess," implying a suicidal desire to be free from her Crest.
Curiously, she is the sole student in the Academy that goes completely unaccounted for in the War Phase as an enemy unit if she is not recruited into Byleth's house. Such is further implied by the fact that she states in her A Support with Byleth that it is because of them that she decided to continue living and started to make friends with her fellow classmates. However, there is no direct confirmation that this is her fate as she may have been simply hidden away by her adoptive father for her safety.

- #25Marianne Von Edmund 2
Keys: Marianne, Golden deers
Marianne features pale skin, dark eyes, and light, dusty blue hair styled in an intricate updo. Her hair is parted slightly to the left, with full, slightly uneven bangs framing her forehead, a prominent braided band sweeping across the top of her head, and long, wavy tendrils hanging down past her chin on either side of her face. She wears the Garreg Mach Monastery Golden Deer uniform, which consists of a long, dark charcoal-grey or black dress paired with deep blue tights and low-heeled brown boots that rise past her ankles. The upper portion of the dress features a structured, double-breasted tan vest panel down the center of the torso with two vertical rows of dark buttons. This panel meets a high, stiff collar adorned with a golden crest and trim. The dress boasts short, voluminous puff sleeves made of a sheer black fabric that flare out into wide cuffs trimmed with golden tassels. Below these cuffs, tight-fitting long sleeves extend to her wrists, ending in wide tan cuffs accented with gold. The waist is tightly cinched with crisscrossed golden lacing, and the long, flowing skirt falls mid-calf, embellished with vertical golden pinstripes originating from the waistline.
- #26Lysithea Von Ordelia
Keys: Lysithea, Golden deers
Lysithea is a playable character in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. She is a student at the Officers Academy who is from the Leicester Alliance and is a member of the Golden Deer. She possesses both a Minor Crest of Charon and a Major Crest of Gloucester and is 15 years old at the start of the game. She uses dark magic to fight.
Lysithea is the eldest daughter and heir to House Ordelia. When she was two years old, her family suffered retribution from the Adrestian Empire for their role in House Hrym's revolt. She is a magical prodigy whose talents developed at an early age.
In retaliation for House Ordelia answering House Hrym's call for aid, the Empire gained temporary control over the family while the Alliance turned a blind eye to avoid confrontation. The Empire killed key members of House Ordelia and replaced them with Imperial officials. Some of those officials were mages of Those Who Slither in the Dark, who then imprisoned the Ordelia children and began conducting Crest experiments on them. Lysithea's parents were powerless to stop them and could only watch in horror as their children perished one by one. Lysithea alone survived the experiments and gained two Crests: a Minor Crest of Charon and a Major Crest of Gloucester. The mages were pleased at their success, but because the procedure of implanting two Crests had dramatically shortened Lysithea's lifespan, they lost interest and departed.
Due to her truncated life and the suffering her family had endured, Lysithea resolved to bring its affairs to an end. After completing her education and ensuring that her parents could live comfortably and in peace, she planned to eschew having children and dissolve House Ordelia.
As the youngest student at the academy, Lysithea is labeled a prodigy by her classmates due to her top marks. She is constantly throwing herself into opportunities to learn and is frequently found reading in the library during her free time. In truth, Lysithea is an exceptionally hard-working, studious girl and she humbly states that it is her intense application and pure dedication to her studies, not natural talents, that lets her achieve her marks. Being the youngest student at the Academy, Lysithea has a chip on her shoulder about her age and hates when others comment about it or treat her like a child.
When it comes to her studies, she diligently makes meaningful use of her every waking moment, almost as though she will never have enough time to learn what she has to. She naturally completes her assignments just to be able to spend more time for her personal studies and projects. She is efficient with her times and is annoyed when others interrupt her, having a wicked tongue for anyone who even slightly inconveniences her or comments about her age. Her true goal with all of her studies is to develop enough skills as a form of independence so she no longer has to burden her parents, whom she loves dearly.
For all her attempts to act like an adult, Lysithea holds onto some childish quirks such as being terrified of ghost and is easily riled up when the subject is brought up. She is extremely fond of sweets, primarily cake, referring to it as "divine essence of the heavens". She treats it as if it was currency, as shown in a conversation with Felix where she gives him some to buy his silence. Try as she might, Lysithea tries to keep this fondness under wraps, but she often surrenders to her fondness and can be coaxed if it's used as an incentive.
Lysithea's impatience is mainly attributed to the horrifying experiments she endured from Those Who Slither in the Dark who implanted a second Crest in her. While she was one of the rare survivors of the procedure, it left her with an extremely shortened lifespan, her hair losing all pigment and was given only a few years to live by Imperial Year 1180. Her desire for independence and separation from her parents is in reality to spare them from having to witness her horrifying fate.
Compared to Edelgard, Lysithea is more open about her tragic childhood, revealing it to others in a majority of her supports. Due to this, she is also able to identify Edelgard as a victim of the same mages, despite Edelgard not telling her about her childhood.
Lysithea has accepted her horrific fate, believing that she would have no place in the world. In the supports which lead to an ending that restores her lifespan, she realizes that her future is not set in stone, and resolves to fight on no matter what.
Her dual crests are a closely guarded secret and few, if any, are aware of it. She displays disdain for Crests as a whole and would rather have been born without her natural Crest. She also resents her peerage and willingly gives it up in most endings. In some endings, she is able to have her second crest removed, restoring her lifespan and living a happy ending. In others, she lives out a short, but happy and peaceful life.
Lysithea von Ordelia from Fire Emblem: Three Houses is characterized by a distinctively delicate and youthful physical appearance. She has striking, straight, waist-length white hair with blunt-cut bangs, and large, expressive pinkish-purple eyes. Her pale hair is a direct side effect of the cruel, forced Crest experiments she survived in her childhood. Standing at a petitiely short stature of 148 cm (about 4'10") during her time at the Officers Academy, she is the youngest student in her class, which often contributes to her being mistaken for a child—a treatment she intensely dislikes. Her academy attire consists of a modified Golden Deer house uniform, featuring a short cropped black jacket with gold buttons, an overlapping gold collar ornament, a flared black skirt accented with gold lining, deep blue stockings, and white boots trimmed with gold and black.
- #27Lorenz Hellman Gloucester
Keys: Lorenz, Golden deers
Lorenz is a playable character that appears in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. He is a student at the Officers Academy who is from the Leicester Alliance and is a member of the Golden Deer. He possesses a minor Crest of Gloucester and is 18 at the start of the game.
Lorenz is the eldest son of Erwin and heir to the County of Gloucester. He enrolled in the Royal Academy of Sorcery at Fhirdiad in 1178, but was forced to leave Faerghus and return home when rebellion erupted in the Kingdom's west.
Lorenz enrolls in Garreg Mach Monastery Officers Academy in Imperial Year 1180 and joins the Golden Deer house. His snobby demeanor belies his serious nature, as he fully understands his responsibility as nobility. It seems he has been approaching girls at the monastery, to little success.
Lorenz takes great pride in being a member of the nobility and seems to flaunt his status. He unintentionally comes off as snobby and pretentious regarding the social divide, as he often comments on his own fine breeding and refined sense of grace due to being a noble. Though he is obsessed with status, his pride is not to be confused with superiority; he will help out any of his classmates, common or noble, in times of need without question or hesitation, even though he will likely make mention of their social status when it's unwarranted or irrelevant.
He has somewhat of an inflated ego regarding his attractiveness, and this gives him a reputation as a flirt. He can be relentless and is unable to take a hint when women turn him down, even assailing them with invitations for dinner repeatedly over consecutive days. However, as he explains to Byleth and Dorothea, the reason for his aggressive courting is due to his search for a woman worthy of his status, as he believes that he needs a noblewoman as a wife to benefit House Gloucester. When talking to Mercedes, he even hesitates about the prospect of marrying a commoner woman, stating that he would rather follow his social obligation than follow his true heart's desires. He values the ideal of nobility over his personal feelings.
Lorenz takes his responsibility as heir to a noble house very seriously. Unlike other more selfish nobles of the Alliance, he considers the well-being of his future vassals and wishes that the Leicester Alliance would be more cooperative than self-serving. This sense of responsibility has led to disdain towards the current ruling nobles, including his father, of whom he is very critical. When talking to Catherine, Lorenz further explains why he considers it a noble's duty to look after commoners, inciting the fact that being born of a higher status comes with power that should be used for the greater good. He, therefore, believes commoners have a right to revolt so that the nobility is held accountable for their failure to provide for the people.
He expresses distaste and suspicion of Claude being the future leader of the Alliance because he is an outsider who was suddenly named heir to House Riegan, even though he was virtually unknown within the Alliance just a year prior. At his father's request, and his own impetus, Lorenz scrutinizes Claude's every move and constantly makes evaluations of his character. Lorenz openly makes it known of his displeasure of Claude's nonchalant behavior and feels that he is unfit to lead the Alliance. Eventually, Lorenz admits that Claude is more qualified to lead than he is, once Claude displays knowledge and true insight of diplomatic relationships that Lorenz overlooked, and they both come to form a bond of deep trust with one another.
Lorenz has interests in monitoring Claude and writing poetry. He likes tea, red roses, art, worthy women, anything that benefits nobility. He dislikes coffee, injustice, filth, foul odors, and vulgarity.
By the war phase of the story, Lorenz has amended his views of the common folk, for the most part, stating that the true value of a person comes from the quality of their soul, regardless of social upbringing, and names Byleth as a key example of a commoner rising above any noble he has met, himself included. He has, for the most part, dropped his elitist perspectives as a result; they may still slip out on occasion, but far less aggressively than before. In Verdant Wind, he completely accepts Claude's status as heir to the Alliance, as Lorenz confidently states that he has the necessary qualities to rule well. With both Claude and Edelgard shaking up Fodlan's status quo in the war, Lorenz comes to believe that a true leader must not be afraid to challenge common practices should it benefit the people, a visionary trait he comes to admire in Claude.
Lorenz Hellman Gloucester from Fire Emblem: Three Houses possesses a distinctively aristocratic and theatrical physical appearance. He stands out with his neatly parted, chin-length violet hair featuring a sharp, stylized fringe that frames his angular face. He has sharp, narrow teal eyes, a slender nose, and a tall, lanky build, standing at 188 cm (about 6'2") during his academy days. Befitting his proud noble heritage, his posture is rigidly elegant, and he wears a heavily customized Golden Deer academy uniform. His outfit consists of a tailored black tailcoat with high gold cuffs, a double-breasted beige vest, dark fitted trousers with gold piping, and tall black riding boots. A signature vibrant red rose is pinned to his left lapel, completing his dramatic and meticulously groomed look.
- #28Ignatz Victor
Keys: Ignatz, Golden deers
Ignatz is a playable character from Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. Ignatz is a student at the Officers Academy who is from the Leicester Alliance and is a member of the Golden Deer. He comes from a family of merchants and is 17 at the start of the game.
Ignatz is the second son of a merchant family in the Leicester Alliance.
Prior to the events of the game, Ignatz's merchant parents were unable to fulfill a certain business trip. Raphael's parents decided to do it themselves, but they were killed on the road. Since it seems Ignatz's family couldn't do a lot for Raphael and his sister, Ignatz feels very guilty over the deal.
Ignatz enrolls in Garreg Mach Monastery Officers Academy in Imperial Year 1180 and joins the Golden Deer house. Since his brother is inheriting the family business, he entered the Officers Academy aiming to be a knight with the support of his parents, but in secret that he rarely shows to anyone (due to his parents' disapproval) he would prefer to be an artist.
Kind and optimistic, Ignatz cares a great deal for his family and honors his father's wish to become a knight. Though he respects his father, he dislikes the fact that he has been railroaded since he feels that he is unsuited to become one. Nevertheless, his optimism is never dampened and is easily motivated when given praise and support.
Ignatz has a passion for the arts and it's a guilty pleasure of sorts to him as he often sneaks away and tries to pursue this passion in secret, feeling that it is unbecoming of a knight. He can be extremely lively when allowed to pursue this passion or when others express admiration in his skills, though he keeps a modest front in regards to his art.
Though he is quite close to Raphael, Ignatz blames himself for the deaths of Raphael's parents, even if Raphael himself doesn't hold it against him at all. He does get over it in their supports, and can even end up marrying Raphael's sister, Maya, in their ending.
Ignatz is very polite, but sometimes it can be too much, to the point of self-neglect, like giving his food to others and eating very little himself. Raphael notes that Ignatz gets all dizzy if he doesn't eat enough.
He is shown to be enduring, even when people insult him, and instead of getting angry, he apologizes and gets sad. Despite his quite impressive patience, he too has his limits as shown in his Support with Lysithea.
He has astrapophobia, fear of lightning.
Ignatz Victor from Fire Emblem: Three Houses has a gentle, scholarly, and unassuming physical appearance that reflects his artistic and mild-mannered nature. He features a distinctive, rounded bowl-cut hairstyle in a muted olive-green shade, paired with large, soft amber eyes and round, thin-rimmed glasses resting on his nose. During his time at the academy, he has a relatively short and slight frame, standing at 164 cm (about 5'5"). His highly customized version of the Golden Deer house uniform highlights his bookish personality, ditching the standard jacket for a sleeveless black-and-gold vest worn over a crisp white dress shirt with puffy sleeves. He pulls the look together with a white cravat, dark tailored shorts that stop just above the knee, high black socks held up by metallic gold garters, and simple black loafers. A prominent brown leather strap crosses his chest to carry a small, dark blue leather merchant satchel at his hip.
- #29Raphael Kirsten
Keys: Raphael, Golden Deers
Raphael is a playable character from Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. He is a student at the Officers Academy who hails from the Leicester Alliance and is part of the Golden Deer. He is 17 years old at the start of the game. fights with gauntlets and is a brawler.
Raphael is the son of a Leicester merchant family and has a younger sister Maya. In his youth, his family was acquainted with Ignatz's family and the two are childhood friends. Tragedy struck Raphael and his sister when his parents were killed in a freak tragedy in 1177. Orphaned with his sister, Raphael and Maya moved in with his grandfather. Unsure of what to do with his future and wanting to make ends meet for his sister, Raphael decided that he was not suited to be a merchant like his parents. Two years later, at the advice of his grandfather, Raphael decided to pursue a dream of becoming a knight. He sold his family estate and closed their merchant business in order to enroll in the Officers Academy.
It is revealed through Raphael's support conversations with Ignatz that Raphael's parents were killed because they took on a job in the stead of Ignatz's family. Despite this, Raphael wishes to remain friends with Ignatz as he has always been, indicating that what happened is about their parents rather than the two of them.
During the paralogue Death Toll, Raphael and Ignatz learn that Raphael's parents did not die in an "accident" but rather were collateral damage in a plot hatched by Lorenz's father, Erwin, to kill the previous Duke Riegan. However, Raphael again insists that it is in the past and between their parents, having nothing to do with Lorenz or Ignatz.
Friendly, optimistic, and straightforward, Raphael is a simple man who lives life day-by-day in a casual, easygoing manner. The tragedy that lead to his parents' death does not weigh heavily on him as he maintains a cheerful demeanor ever since. While Ignatz, his best friend, blames himself for the circumstances of Raphael's parent's death, Raphael reminds him that he does not blame him or his family for their deaths and has moved passed any grief he ever had. He cherishes his friendship with Ignaz since the two are childhood friends and wants to live life with simple pleasures and happiness.
While he is far from the most academically gifted of his classmates, he dutifully shows up to class partially because he knows that he risks being expelled and wasting all of the resources spent to get him into the Officers Academy. He has difficulty grasping some of the basic materials given to him in class, though he is not shy from asking for Byleth's tutoring to better understand them, making him a genuine student at heart and one of the most reliable students in the class.
Raphael enthusiastically trains his body every day, taking great pride in his physique. It is not unusual to see him weight training and sparring with others during his free time, even encouraging others to join him. If he is not training or exercising, Raphael is usually found in the Mess Hall satiating his voracious appetite to help in his efforts to bulk up. He is known to carry mountains of food and even encourages his leaner classmates to eat more. He adores meat above all other foods, but he knows to also eat the recommended grains and vegetables as well.
Raphael's goal in life is to become a knight as part of why he diligently trains. While he does not understand the exact means of becoming one, he often takes to heart advice given to him on ways to be more "knightly", finding comradery with Ingrid. Aside from becoming stronger, he wants to become a knight to make a decent living so he can support his last remaining immediate family, his younger sister, Maya. He admits to Byleth that he considered becoming a mercenary, but the lifestyle of one would make supporting his sister far harder. He often spends him time collecting and making trinkets for her throughout his travels across Fódlan and will even go to the ends of the continent just to get something she may like. He has a weird sibling-like with Lysithea who reminds him of Maya, much to her initial displeasure.
Due to being a commoner, Raphael is rather boorish in his treatment of manners in general settings such as offering Lorenz his half-eaten food scraps and eating so wildly that he made a mess of himself in his support with Ingrid. He is mostly unaware of Crests and has a rather simplistic view of the world as it is mostly self-contained to those most precious to him.
Raphael Kirsten from Fire Emblem: Three Houses possesses a remarkably muscular, imposing, and jovial physical appearance that mirrors his immense strength and warm heart. He stands out with his messy, spiky short blonde hair and small, cheerful light brown eyes set in a broad face with a friendly, wide smile. Built like a powerhouse, he features exceptionally wide shoulders and a hulking, heavily muscled frame, standing tall at 190 cm (about 6'3"). His academy clothing is heavily modified because his massive muscles literally tear standard uniforms apart; he wears a tight white dress shirt with the front buttons bursting open to expose his muscular chest, rolled-up sleeves, and thick black suspenders. He finishes the look with a wide cream-colored waist sash, tight black trousers with white piping, and sturdy lace-up tan combat boots.
- #30Leonie Pinelli
Keys: Leonie, Golden deers
Leonie is a playable character in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. She is a student at the Officers Academy who hails from the Leicester Alliance and is one of the Golden Deer. She is 19 at the start of the game.
Leonie is the daughter of a hunter, hailing from Sauin Village within the County of Gloucester in Leicester Alliance. She meets Jeralt in 1174 who took her as an apprentice during his short time there. Though short, he gifted her a special charm which she held onto ever since, inspiring her to become a mercenary like him one day.
Leonie borrowed money from her village to enroll in the Officers Academy in Imperial Year 1180 in order to become a mercenary and make money. As a native of Leicester, she becomes a member of the Golden Deer house.
Deeply indebted to her home village, Leonie diligently trains every day to make them proud and lives modestly. Her goal is to eventually become a mercenary so she can return the favor to her village, only joining the Officers Academy in the first place to train towards her dream, and having no qualms in having to the fight the Church since she was never particularly devout.
When an incident during her childhood left her small village suffering from poachers, Jeralt and his band of mercenaries appeared to fight them off. His act of heroism inspired the young Leonie to dream of one day becoming a great mercenary as well. Due to this, she seems to idealize Jeralt, often referencing him or espousing teachings from the time he spent in her village. She considers herself his "first and only apprentice", and takes great pride in the fact that Jeralt saw potential in her. As a result, she takes Jeralt's death the hardest, arguably wanting to avenge Jeralt's death even more than Byleth when facing Kronya.
Despite or perhaps because of this, Leonie pushes herself to live up to her mentor's legacy. During the War Phase, Leonie adopts a similar uniform to Jeralt's and carries a similar shield. Following the end of the war, she becomes known as The Blade Breaker II and successfully leads Jeralt's former company in many of her endings. In some endings, she also copies Jeralt's worst tendencies, including his passion for drink and habit of leaving unpaid bar tabs behind. In others, such as her paired ending with Shamir, Leonie rises above Jeralt's flaws and becomes the most famous mercenary in Fódlan's history.
Leonie also appears to be rather competitive when interacting with Byleth, and considers them a potential rival due to the fact that they are the child of her hero, something which she envies them for, because she believes they don't properly appreciate Jeralt as a father. However, after her mentor's death, she makes it clear she will give her life toward them because that is what Jeralt would want, effectively citing this as her reason for why she follows Byleth even when joining the Black Eagles or Blue Lions.
Leonie can be rather impulsive and blunt, and has a habit of speaking her mind even when it may not be appropriate. Her ability to speak her emotions is something of a double-edged sword, as it means she is completely honest with her goals and feelings, but also doesn't hold back and may not be tactful. She is also very proud of her abilities as a warrior and does not hesitate to demonstrate her power as well as her cunning.
Despite her brash and competitive demeanor, Leonie also appears to have a somewhat sentimental side, as she reminiscences about what the support of her village means to her. She mentions having an affinity for painting as a young girl, but quickly to abandon the hobby to take up more practical skills. Leonie is also sensitive about not being treated like other girls her age, treatment that is likely a result of her blunt, impulsive, and bold behavior, and tomboyish appearance.
Leonie Pinelli from Fire Emblem: Three Houses is recognized for her athletic, tomboyish, and highly energetic appearance. She sports a distinctively vibrant bright orange pixie-cut hairstyle with uneven, choppy bangs that frame her determined face. She has large, sharp light brown eyes (often appearing amber or orange) and a lean, toned physique built from years of hunting and hard physical labor. In her academy days, she stands at a solid 168 cm (about 5'6"). Her highly practical uniform modification reflects her active nature, consisting of a white shirt with rolled-up sleeves, fingerless black gloves, and a black corset-style waist belt over a pleated black skirt. Crucially, she ties her signature bright orange academy jacket around her waist by the sleeves, matching her hair and highlighting her casual, no-nonsense style.
- #31Seteth
Keys: Seteth, Church of Seiros
Seteth is a recurring character from the Fódlan Series. He is second-in-command to Archbishop Rhea of the Church of Seiros. He bears a Major Crest of Saint Cichol.
Seteth is the older brother of Flayn. He became the second-in-command and chief aide to Rhea, the Archbishop of the Church of Seiros, after being summoned to Garreg Mach Monastery in 1159. He respects Rhea's judgment of Byleth, who was unexpectedly offered a professorship at the Officers Academy, though he does not let his guard down around them.
While Seteth claims to be a descendant of Cichol, he in fact Cichol himself, and Flayn is his daughter, Cethleann. Though he wasn't present in Zanado during the massacre, he allied with Seiros during the War of Heroes. During an unknown battle, Cethleann convinced Cichol to bring her along. Cichol reluctantly agreed but was unable to keep a watch on both her and his wife, resulting the latter dying and Cethleann suffering grievous injuries. After burying his wife at the Rhodos Coast, Cichol proceeded to place Cethleann in a restorative slumber and remained in Zanado until Imperial Year 1162.
Stern and serious, Seteth is a paragon of order and discipline for the Church of Seiros and the Officer's Academy. He is loyal to Rhea and the Church of Seiros, and shares her hostility towards those that oppose the Church. While he accepts her judgment in making Byleth a new professor, he maintains firm skepticism of them until they rescue Flayn. After that incident, he expresses complete gratitude for them and trusts Byleth with Flayn's care. In Crimson Flower, Seteth grapples with Byleth's betrayal but begrudgingly concedes that he still owes them dearly for saving Flayn.
As seen with many of his supports, Seteth often offers wise advice to those younger than him despite his stern nature, such as encouraging Felix to interact more with those that care about him and imploring Ingrid to consider herself an individual before thinking of herself as a Crest bearer.
He dotes on Flayn and constantly worries for her safety, as he knows that others would try to use her blood for their own purposes. He also views her as his only sole reason for living and could not bear to live in a world without her. He generally goes far out of his way to ensure that no harm can reach her, much to Flayn's dismay. He incessantly meddles with her social life; in fact, he intimidates any student that attempts to make romantic advances on her. This in turn makes Flayn hide any romantic interests she has from Seteth. In some of Flayn's paired endings with the others, it is implied that he tolerates their marriage, while in others like Claude's, he appears to be unaware of the extent of their relationship. Ultimately, Flayn remains his highest priority, as despite his loyalty to Rhea, in Crimson Flower, if he survives the first battle of the War Phase, he will take her into hiding and does not participate in the remainder of the war.
Seteth has a talent for writing children's stories and fables, having written some for Flayn when she was younger, and is an aspiring author. He is not a good artist, and as such his stories lack illustrations (which would complement his books), though he may find an illustrator through some supports.
He inherited a love of fishing from his late wife. However, he does it to primarily to enjoy the sound of the waves and other nostalgic sensations, and is not particularly skilled. In his supports with Leonie, he tells her that his late wife was the one who prepared the bait, but regardless he does not mind fishing with or without it.
Seteth is quite protective of his past as Cichol, having kept his true identity a secret along with Cethleann from others knowing the dangers of revealing his true identity, and thus rarely permits Flayn to address him as "Father". His past, like Cethleann, has generally been lost to history, which has caused scholars to look at them with moderate suspicion. In his supports with Hanneman, Hanneman wonders how Seteth has a major Crest of Cichol, having done so for 16 years (21 after the timeskip), since he is the only known person who carries such a Crest. Like Flayn, Seteth is protective of his true identity, although he does a far better job than her in doing so, maintaining a cautious approach and not giving any cues that would cause suspicion. After Byleth accompanies Seteth and Flayn to the Rhodos Coast, Seteth admits to them that Flayn is actually his daughter, but continues to conceal their identities as Saints.
Seteth features pale skin, amber or light brown eyes, a stern facial expression, and wavy, chin-length green hair with a small soul patch beard on his chin. He wears a thin, gold filigree tiara-like band across his forehead. His outfit consists of a formal, high-collared navy blue tunic and a matching split-front long skirt or coat that ends below his knees, revealing white under-trousers underneath. The shoulders of his tunic are adorned with intricate golden embroidery, and the outfit is cinched at the waist by a white belt with an ornate, pointed gold central buckle. Attached to a thin golden chain slung across his hip are several large, decorative golden tassels. His long sleeves are white on the upper arms and transition into dark navy forearm guards featuring a gold crisscross pattern. Seteth wears a flowing cape that is dark navy on the outside and lined with a patterned, beige-and-white lattice design. His footwear consists of tall, polished black leather boots that rise nearly to his knees, detailed with subtle etched patterns around the top rims.
- #32Hanneman Von Essar
Keys: Hanneman
Hanneman is a character in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. He was formerly a nobleman of House Essar, but currently serves as an instructor at the Academy, where he offers lessons in Bows and Reason. He possesses a Minor Crest of Indech and is 51 years old at the start of the game.
Hanneman is a teacher at the Officers Academy. He is a scholar who studies the power of Crests. He became a scholastic authority on Crestology throughout the Adrestian Empire in 1159. He had a sister, who did not have a Crest. Due to being in a family where Crests were prevalent (his father bearing a Major Crest, and both himself and his grandfather possessing Minor Crests), his sister (who did not have a Crest) was married to another noble whose influence was waning and desperately desired a Crest bearing child. All of the children produced from their marriage did not bear Crests, and she eventually died, the primary cause being heart disease. Hanneman believed otherwise, believing that it was Crests that caused his sister's early death. Though he was styled as "von Essar", he renounced his peerage in 1164 following his sister's death.
The grief-stricken scholar absconded to Garreg Mach Monastery a year later. Though he had always been fascinated by Crests, his current goal is to find a way to make Crests easily available to anyone who would want one, believing that if everyone had access to Crests the value placed on Crests in society would diminish, so that what happened to his sister wouldn't happen to anyone again.
The monocle he wears is a custom piece.
Hanneman is an avid scholar and one of the most academically intelligent members of the Academy Faculty. He focuses on studying Crests in particular, unable to contain any excitement whenever he has a new discovery. This does make him a bit pushy with certain students in order to learn as much as he can, though he usually respects their boundaries if he senses discomfort, such as Lysithea's twin crests.
The death of his sister impacted Hanneman greatly, as he renounced his peerage because he felt incapable of protecting his sister. The incident also made him become a Crest scholar so he could learn how Crests work so they could be distributed to anyone who wanted one, and as such, he doesn't hold a high view with how Crests influence society, and if he was successful, he would honor his sister's memory. He generally shows no affiliation for his Crest research, having abandoned his position in the Empire to obtain a better research environment, as shown in Crimson Flower where he may return to the Empire to continue his research.
He has somewhat of a shaky relationship with his colleague Manuela. Although they bear no ill will towards each other, they often get into verbal spats which quickly escalate into arguments over the slightest of infractions, even if they end up marrying in their paired ending. Despite this, they are able to maintain their professionalism in front of their students.
- #33Manuela Casagranda
Keys: Manuela
Manuela is a playable character in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. An instructor at the Academy, she offers lessons in Swords and Faith.
As a child, Manuela and her parents would often visit the cathedral at Garreg Mach Monastery, where one day Manuela wandered off after hearing someone singing with a beautiful voice. Manuela sang along, learning of her natural talent and wished to become a songstress. Although she never met the individual, Manuela believed this was the work of the goddess for gifting her with this talent.
Her dreams later bore fruit, with Manuela joining the Mittelfrank Opera Company in 1158 and was renowned as the "Divine Songstress" throughout the Imperial capital three years later. She was the one who discovered the street urchin Dorothea and recruited her into the opera company, Manuela then became both her senior and her idol. She left the opera in 1174 to work as a teacher and physician at the Officers Academy. Her age is a guarded secret.
Her popularity and hard work in the company have attributed to her numerous connections and personal experience, although this was not enough sometimes and she would be forced to perform an occasional act of violence to make ends meet. Through her connections, she obtained a job in the Officers Academy, mostly due to her professionalism and developed medical skills. Upon joining the academy, Manuela expanded her network, and in this place, she can finally find the love of her life, that she longed for years, as she couldn't find a suitable partner despite being very successful in every other aspect of her life.
Though the days of the opera have gone by for her, depending on her path, she can eventually return and perform again with Dorothea, her former junior.
Manuela's love life is somewhat of a sore subject for her, as she regrets not having met the man of her dreams at her age. She constantly makes flirtatious comments to potential suitors. She easily finds dates, but often is left unsatisfied or dumped after the first outings. She constantly worries that she will remain single for the rest of her life. She also loves her vices, mainly alcohol, as she drinks frequently and in vast quantities that often leave her in a drunken stupor the next day, which garnered her quite the reputation even back at Opera Company, leading to a joke that she "could outdrink a fish, and the sailor who caught it". She is sloppy and messy, her room often being a testament to her careless behavior.
Despite the change of path, choosing a more stable career as a teacher in the monastery, Manuela has fond memories of her time as a songstress in the opera, regardless of all the hard work she had to do. She is also a skilled physician, being able to keep her spouse in good health for numerous years if she finally settles with someone, as seen in her paired endings with male Byleth. In addition, she has an interest in dressing fashionably and is good at needlework.
Overall, Manuela is a friendly and supportive figure and cares for the well being of her students. Despite working in the monastery, she is not fond of the concept of status that supports nobility, treating all her colleagues and pupils equally. Her relationship with Hanneman is a shaky one, however, as their verbal spats often escalate into arguments over the slightest of infractions, which continues in their paired ending. Even so, they are able to maintain their professionalism in front of their students. She is also some sort of idol figure for Dorothea, who always sought to follow her steps and sees Manuela as a source of inspiration.
