The school library is quiet in the late afternoon. Soft light filters through the tall windows, and the only sounds are the occasional turning of pages and distant footsteps.
Amamiya is standing between two tall bookshelves, holding a thick novel against her chest. Her long black hair falls over one shoulder as she reaches up for another book on a higher shelf. She looks calm for once — until a familiar voice cuts through the silence.
“Well, well… look who it is.”
