The Necroa Virus Outbreak: 200 Years later

200 Years after WW3 and a Devastating Viral Outbreak, Humanity manages to bring itself back from the brink of extinction. some Countries remain intact and functional, while others got sent back to the fucking stone-age. most notably: The UK: now the British Empire again, they have reclaimed many of their old colonies and subsidiary territories, while Australia and New Zealand do remain independent, they do still fall under the crown. the Royal Family now has full control of the Country, as the politicians and government basically abandoned the British People when it all went to shit. so now the UK is a prosperous, Middle-ages adjacent Police state where every City, Village and Town is run by a council/mini government, however London still remains the Capital and ultimately holds power over the rest of the British Isles. London has changed into a walled-off super-fortress manned by the still-functioning British Army. the RAF, Royal Navy and Royal Marines are also still active, but are mainly tasked with operating abroad. Ireland: over in Northern Ireland, it is deemed a Cursed land by the Republic of Ireland, as the entire region of Ulster was quarantined and left to rot by the UK and the Irish alike. the IRA was brought back during the Outbreak as a Civilian Volunteer Militia, as the Irish Defense Force isn't exactly the most capable military, especially after the outbreak collapsed the Irish Government. now, under a new united Ireland, the Irish people finally got what they wanted. a fresh start for Ireland. France: down south in France. it's all dead. only small scattered factions exist in the countryside, though these are protected by descendants of the French Military, who still possesses some Mechanized Manpower and armored vehicles. but mostly people just try surviving as much as possible. Germany: in the east in Germany, the Bundeswehr, or what's left of it, have adopted a more WW2 style of fighting, relying on Blitzkrieg and static Trench Warfare. they also operate similarly to the Wermacht in terms of Ideology and logic. (they aren't Nazis, or a revived Waffen SS, just soldiers.) the Bundeswehr, now not bound by the rules of the Government, basically run what's left of the Country, with all the Germanic states operating independently, with each state having their own faction of the Bundeswehr, their own government and their own goals. however, in Germany, everyone has the mindset of, Germans are Germans, Bias is stupid. Spain: over in Spain, it's...literally just medieval mad max. but with Zombies. the British Military does have a large presence however due to Gibraltar, Benidorm and other locations under British Authority. Italy: Italy is largely abandoned, with the Vatican acting as some, holy beacon of light, like London. Vatican City remains walled off and heavily Guarded by a modernized Swiss Guards Mercenary Regiment and remnants of the Italian Military. they also have Templars now, trying to rid Europe of the Plague, however they often get their asses kicked when crossing the alps. for one reason: Switzerland: the Swiss have remained unscathed and are one of the only Countries completely unchanged by the Outbreak. they blew all the bridges into the country, executed all infected and carriers, deported thousands of immigrants and shot down any aircraft attempting to land in the country. the Swiss Military has weaponized the Alps that heavily that Switzerland is seen as the Fortress of Europe. The Balkans: yeah, they're all dead or living in the Middle Ages. because it's the Balkans. Greece: the mainland of Greece is basically abandoned, however Athens, Sparta and some other notable countries have returned from the brink. with them returning to an ancient Greek mindset and society. in other words. everyone's Gay in the straightest way imaginable. the Greek Military is now divided into City-based regiments. with the Islands all getting independence as their own kingdoms. though they still stand somewhat united under the Greek Flag. also North Macedonia got annexed and is a part of Greece, too. The Baltic States: these Countries got absolutely bodied by both Infected and the Resurgence Ultranationalists (you forget this is the GSOC Universe, therefore WW3 still happens while the Outbreak is going on.) however the Baltic States managed to unite under one flag and barely survived their extinction. they now act as the Beacon of hope for the European Scientific Community as they spent a shit-load of time trying to research a cure. Poland: they survived somewhat, with the Polish Military enacting a Coup when the Government was infiltrated by the Resurgence. since then the Polish have become a close ally and homie to the Bundeswehr and Germany. Russia: the Russian Military and Ultranationalists engaged in an Open Civil war in 2022, with the Ultranationalists executing Putin on live TV and officially taking power in 2025. (COD4 MW flashbacks) during the Outbreak, they retreated to the Ural Mountains, letting the cold and the defenses deal with the dead and the living alike. now they just leave everyone to rot if they're not part of their ideology of well.... Soviet Anthem starts playing The Middle East: moving south, Israel has closed it's borders and well....yeah. they did what Israel did best and fucked over everyone else. now, IWI remains one of the World's last remaining Old-World weapons manufacturers, using this leverage to arm and hire several groups of Mercenaries who are sent into neighboring regions to gather supplies, kill people they don't like and also clean up any infected. so...of course, while every other middle-eastern country died out, the Jews still rule the world and profit off everyone else's suffering. also the Vatican hates them. (I wonder why) The Arabian Peninsula: Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Dubai and other locations were hit pretty hard by Infected however something hit them harder: WW3. after the Outbreak hit Dubai, NATO troops tried to secure the City, in doing so they got stranded, like the Damned 33rd from Spec Ops: the Line. so even after 200 years, small pockets of Americans, Brits and UAE troops still live on. with the US Army having a company of troops holding out in the Berge Khalifa Hotel. the Brits mostly escaped Arabia, Colonizing Cyprus for the Crown. South Asia: moving to Afghanistan, it's quite peaceful. the Locals killed off the Infected, successfully pulling off a Jihad against a literal Virus. the Taliban and whatnot collapsed in WW3, with NATO invading the area, only to pull out again like pussies. the Country of Afghanistan never changes. in Pakistan, they just closed their borders, enacted Sharia Law at its' finest and managed to push through WW3 and the 2035 TX-4 Necroa Virus Outbreak. however the People enacted a coup and overthrew the country, not before the Pakistanis dropped a fucking Nuke on New Delhi. in India, the lack of hygiene, healthcare and the Population Density caused the Virus to collapse the Country in weeks, the Nuke from Pakistan didn't help as the airburst Nuclear explosion flattened the entire North-East section of India's Capital. the Country now remains untouched by Humanity. Nature slowly having overtaken the infrastructure. China: over in China, WW3 hit the Country hard but didn't collapse it, even with the US Marines on their doorstep. the CCP managed to keep the Outbreak under control however sabotage from the CIA caused the Government to collapse and hide itself away in bunkers. with the Provinces of China reverting to a Feudal Medieval system. with each Province boasting their own armies and governments, all salvaged from what remained of the scattered PLA. Japan: Japan also reverted to a Feudal system, however they still remained united as Japan. the people also brought back the art of the Samurai, with the Japanese Military using modernized Samurai armor and loadouts to combat the Infected hordes that swept through the country in 2035. Korea: in WW3, South Korea had absolutely bodied North Korea with the help of a certain Private Military Company. Kim Jong Un was shot on live TV, North and South united under a new flag and branded itself the URK. or the United Republic of Korea. they kept the South Korean flag though because it's cool. and also the outbreak swept in from China alongside the PLA. since then Korea had managed to push through as one of the only fully functional Old-World Countries. Oceania: over in the land down under, Australia, New Zealand and other UK Colonies managed to deal with the Infection quite well, but like the fucking Cane Toads, the Undead Infected remained a problem due to how tough they were to kill. so even after 200 years Local Aussies still spend their time hunting the Dead. Darwin, Townsville, Canberra and other towns were lost and abandoned to the infected. however Sydney and other cities did manage to curb the infection rate. at least they got their right to bear arms back. Africa: most of it lies abandoned, however Cape Town in South Africa remains the last living City in the whole Continent. South America: moving west, South America not only had to deal with Cartels, Rogue PMCs and other shit during WW3. they also dealt with not one but TWO separate Zombie Outbreaks. one caused by the Necroa Virus, the other caused by a Genetically engineered species of the Ophiocordyceps Unilateralis Fungus. in other words, the Cordyceps Brain Infection. so several Countries got server wiped like going as Tails, Amy and Cream against Forest Kolossos in OM. Mexico/Central America: they didn't have to experience the Cordyceps outbreak, however the Necroa Virus still kicked ass, with Mexico being reverted to a Wild-West style of Society. The USA: America fell to the Infection early on due to the fact that an Ultranationalist Cyber Attack knocked out the Power and Defenses of the entire fucking CIA resulting in the highly mutagenic, highly contagious and highly fucking advanced, weaponized TX-4 Strain of the Necroa Virus to break out in Ohio, California, Texas and Florida. leading to it spreading world-wide. the USA now lives in a Walking Dead/Wild West society where survival of the fittest and every man for himself is the Number 1 rule. while many towns and any remaining Cities do still try staying united under the Stars and Stripes, many gangs of "Outlaws", "Gunslingers" and Mercenaries wander the wilderness looking for business or a good-old fashioned scrap. Canada: the Land of the Maple Tree managed to survive in a similar fashion to Australia. the Canadian Government did collapse, however the Civilians and Military were able to push through. using the sheer expanse of the Canadian wilderness to protect themselves from the Infected. Factions: IWI - Israel Weapons Industries, the World's most prominent Arms manufacturer, they practically run the Country The Resurgence - The Ultranationalists who started it all. a bunch of Pro-Soviet, Pan-Slavic Fascists who seek to destroy anything that's not remotely Slavic. The Crown - The British Empire. the most Powerful Faction on the Planet The Bundeswehr - the Remnants of the German Army, relying on Motorized Infantry and Artillery to get shit done The Church - The Vatican and it's subsidiaries still aim to bring a new age of Christianity to the wastes, fighting a new Crusade against the Blight that ruined everything it touched PENTAGRAM - what remains of the US Military and Government that aims to fight off the Infection and anything deemed too "Anomalous" or Cursed to Exist GSOC - Global Special Operations Command. somehow still functioning in the Shadows, they now Operate similarly to the SHD from Tom Clancy's The Division. the J.T.I.F or "Joint Interdiction Task Force" are their main fighting power, however other Specialist Units like Alpha Division, Fireteam Echo, Task Force Manta and the A.S.H Response Unit, just to name a few, still function independently. The Independents - a Continental Coalition of Civilians, Law enforcement and Military Fighters operating and surviving in America and Canada. Legio Aeterna - a mysterious group of Elite Soldiers clad in Black, Red and Grey who seem to praise a deity or man named "The Legionnaire". they might be descendants of Legion PMC. they operate world-wide and in secret. The Cape Town Sanctuary - the Remnant of the South African Government and Army. like someone pulled the Rhodesians out from the 70s and into the Future, still using Domestically manufactured FALs, Rhodesian Camo and British Military Vehicles, they keep the Beacon City of Cape Town safe. now... The Infection - the Necroa Virus is a Highly Mutagenic, Highly Contagious and Zoonotic Pre-historic Virus that originates from somewhere in the Finnish/Karelian Permafrost. there are 5 researched strains, with a 6th seeming to have appeared. TX-0 N.C.V - the "All-Father" strain from Pre-history, people infected with this strain usually die outright or descend into madness, with their flesh decaying and falling into necrosis. this strain is mainly extinct or in dormancy. TX-1 N.C.V - The Cold War Strain accidentally weaponized by the Soviets, resulting in the East Berlin Outbreak that was swept under the rug and blamed on "Riots" by the Soviet Union and East Germany in 1984, the Outbreak was contained by May of 1986, however it still spreads genetically through Infected Populations in Europe. TX-2 N.C.V - The "Vampiric" Strain that had broke out in the UK in 2005 from the Biological Weapons research Facility in Port-on-down. people Infected with this are not too dissimilar from the infected of 28 Days Later's Rage Virus. 30% of the Infected however do not completely lose their Humanity, gaining a Viral form of BPD/Schizophrenia, entering episodes of extreme Psychosis, fully aware of their actions yet unable to control themselves, they often commit suicide or seek treatment when not in these episodes, able to converse and communicate. however, when an infected person is killed, they are reanimated as a classic, slow, rotting Zombie, extremely hard to kill, for as long as the Amygdala and Brain stem are intact, they can function as normal. this goes for the other strains aswell. TX-3 N.C.V - The "Simian" Strain had popped up discreetly within the Ape Populations of Africa, concerning the Local Wildlife Researchers, who were oblivious of the Virus. then the Virus made the Jump from Ape to Human, resulting in Infected Humans spreading among the Tribes of Africa, with local Tribes calling the Virus various names, with most translating to things along the lines of "The Plague of Madness" TX-4 N.C.V - The "Weaponized" strain that had escaped the grasp of the CIA in America. this variant of the Virus not only infects Wildlife as Asymptomatic Carriers, it can also do the same Cytopathic Reanimation ability as the other strains. it also can produce Special Infected Variants among the Living, Breathing Infected similar to the Green Flu from Left4Dead and the T-Virus/G-Virus from Resident Evil. however, Undead/Reanimated Infected cannot become Special Infected, and Special Infected Cannot reanimate as Undead. this is due to both Scientific reasons and because of how unfair it'd be for the survivors. TX-5 N.C.V - The "Perfected/Primal" Strain that had recently begun spreading among the Living and the Dead alike, this new Strain gives Infected Humans that were still Living and Breathing a form of Primitive, Ape-like intelligence. while most 1st or 2nd Generation Infected knew how to open doors, use weapons or even drive cars when newly infected. the TX-5 N.C.V infected mainly just know how to start fires, reproduce and make basic tools. all Undead Infected made by any strain are actually able to die of old age, but can slow down their decay or aging by consuming flesh, because the Virus uses proteins and cells to regenerate Infected Tissues. Living and Breathing Infected however do live ridiculously longer then Healthy Humans due to the Virus cancelling out the affects of old age for the most part. this applies to all strains.
