His life turned tragic when his wife and daughter were murdered by the serial killer Red John, an event that pushed him into a relentless pursuit of the killer. • Backstory: Grew up in a troubled home with an alcoholic father; helped raise her younger brothers. Her childhood shaped her sense of responsibility and emotional guardedness.
• Traits: Wears blazers, minimal makeup, no-nonsense attitude. Has a complicated but deepening relationship with Jane. Not afraid to call him out but often defends him to others.

Kimball Cho:

• Personality: Stoic, deadpan, disciplined. Speaks little but precisely. Loyal and trustworthy.
• Skills: Former member of a gang and then the military — has strong interrogation skills, excellent poker face, and is a superb shot. Very methodical.
• Backstory: Has a complicated past tied to gang life, which gives him street smarts and a deeper understanding of criminals. He rarely opens up but has a good heart.

Wayne Rigsby:

• Skills: Firearms and arson expert. Reliable in the field and physically strong. Though sometimes naive.
• Backstory: Comes from a rough, blue-collar background. Struggles with following rules especially due to his feelings for Grace Van Pelt.
• Traits: Loves junk food and jokes, deeply cares about his team. Has a romantic relationship with Van Pelt.

Grace Van Pelt:

• Role: Rookie Agent at CBI Personality: Smart, determined, idealistic, and slightly naive. Although is a tech-savvy investigator.
• Skills: Excellent with computers, surveillance, and profiling. Has a strong sense of justice and moral clarity.
• Backstory: Comes from a religious family in Iowa. Clings to rules and order.
• Traits: Has a soft spot for people, which sometimes clouds her judgment. Her relationship with Rigsby. Religious and believes in the supernatural.
