Facts: This series has elements, themes, influences and inspirations from the original 1994 series, the 2018 Netflix revival The Magic School Bus Rides Again, the books, and the video games. This series is non-canon to the main series or the upcoming Mighty Explorers series. This series aims for a slightly older demographic in a "Friendship is Magic" way, which includes loads of slapstick, puns, pop culture references, adventure, action, comedy, story arcs, and a tad more drama. The kids are now high schoolers. The Magic School Bus now has a name: Marvin. Plus, he is capable of human speech in this series, like the original Liz was in the games. Goldie and Liz is now capable of human speech as well. Phoebe has made her reappearance after a long absence, and is one of the main deuteragonists in this series alongside Lily, Wyatt and Benny. Lily, Wyatt and Benny (the three six-year old kids from Mighty Explorers) will appear in this series, but they are much more different from their canon counterparts. Plus, they are also high schoolers. Lily, Wyatt and Benny are known to be fellow students in Phoebe's school. As soon as they reach high school, they meet the other eight main kids. Wyatt gets along with Arnold the most as he expresses his fear and uninterest with the field trips with the Frizzles and Marvin. Wanda has the same personality as her original 1994 counterpart as her Rides Again counterpart (who is the group's new animal lover) is much too similar to Phoebe. Keesha has the same personality as her original 1994 counterpart, while Lily has the same personality as the Rides Again counterpart of Keesha (who is a stylish and outspoken fashionista). The kids' height order is as follows: Tim, Wyatt, Carlos, Phoebe, Keesha, Jyoti, Ralphie, Benny, Lily, Arnold, Dorothy Ann, and Wanda.

Premise: The Magic School Bus: Magical Adventures follows a familiar yellow icon into unfamiliar territory as Valerie Frizzle and her sister Fiona guide a new generation of students through a world where science, magic, and curiosity have begun to overlap in extraordinary ways. Now high schoolers, the class is no longer just learning what the world is made of, but why it works—and what happens when the rules are bent, rewritten, or challenged. Each journey aboard the newly self-aware Magic School Bus, Marvin, pushes them beyond textbooks and comfort zones, transforming lessons into living, breathing adventures that test intellect, courage, and character. In this series, learning is no longer confined to observation. With Fiona Frizzle acting as the spark that turns theory into action, the students are thrown directly into phenomena that blur the line between scientific possibility and magical impossibility. From microscopic civilizations that defy known biology to cosmic realms shaped by emotion and imagination, every expedition demands collaboration, adaptability, and critical thinking. Valerie remains the steady guide, ensuring that even in the most chaotic situations, curiosity is paired with compassion and responsibility. The class itself has grown into a diverse, tightly woven ensemble, each student bringing a distinct perspective that shapes the outcome of every mission. Phoebe Terese, newly returned after years away, serves as the moral compass of the group, often questioning not just how something works, but whether it should. Lily Cox keeps the team organized and socially grounded, while Wyatt Tucker’s investigative mind and Arnold Perlstein’s reluctant expertise ensure that no mystery goes unexamined—no matter how terrifying the solution might be. Emotional bonds, fears, rivalries, and trust evolve as much as their academic understanding, making every trip personal as well as educational. Magic in this world is not a replacement for science, but an extension of it—an unexplained variable that demands new ways of thinking. Marvin, now able to speak and adapt on his own, responds not only to environmental challenges but to the emotional state of his passengers, subtly guiding them toward growth as much as discovery. Alongside him, Goldie and Liz Ard operate as ever-watchful companions, collecting data, preventing disasters, and occasionally saving the day before anyone realizes they were in danger. As the series unfolds, episodic adventures gradually give way to larger story arcs that explore the consequences of curiosity on a grander scale. The students begin to realize that their field trips are not random—that the universe itself seems to be inviting them to learn, to intervene, and sometimes to choose between knowledge and restraint. The Magic School Bus: Magical Adventures is a story about growing up through exploration, about friendship forged under impossible circumstances, and about the belief that understanding the world—no matter how strange it becomes—is the first step toward protecting it.
Starting with the big three: Ms. Valerie Frizzle: The eccentric, plucky, and magical science teacher extrodinare. Ms. Frizzle loves children and teaching them the magic and mysteries of the world, by taking her class on "field trips"... to the depths of the ocean, to the vastness of outer space, and even inside the human body. Liz Ard: The class pet chameleon and Ms. Frizzle's assistant. The Bus: the magical, interchangeable, school bus that takes Ms. Frizzle's class on their fantastic field trips. Trivia: I based Ms. Frizzle's design off the concept art of the Magic School Bus 360 by David Zung. Liz's design was a mix between the David Zung concept art and Pascal from Tangled as well as Kingyonga from the Lion Guard.
Here's the next batch of redesign Magic School Bus characters, the class: Arnold Perlstein: The sensible and very anxious kid of the class. Unlike most of the kids, Arnold is far more reluctant and even afriad to go on the field trips, always fearing that things will go wrong (which they more than often do) but goes along anyway. Arnold loves rocks and wants to be a geologist when he grows up. Ralph "Ralphie" Tennelli: The most sporty kid of Ms. Frizzle's class, Ralphie enjoys field trips that involves any kind of sports. Ralphie is also pretty competitive and has an ego. Keesha Franklin: The sceptical and takes charge kind of kid of the class. Keesha is hard to convince, but not impossible. She and Ralphie often get into debates, but they're still good friends. Phoebe Terese: The soft-spoken nature loving new kid of the class. Phoebe loves animals and hopes to be a zoologist. Phoebe often mentioned how very different things are compared to her old school. Carlos Ramón: The class clown, Carlos loves telling jokes and puns, though most of the time they aren't very good, resulting in groans from the class, with only Ms. Frizzle finding them funny. But he will occasionally tell actually funny ones and get a laugh out of the class. Tim Wright: The artistic kid of the class. Tim never goes anywhere without his sketchbook, even on field trips. Wanda Li: Feisty and rambunctious. Wanda is the most adventurous kid of the class, and more likely to leap before she looks. Dorothy Ann Hudson: The smartest and most informative of the class. Dorothy Ann has a love for knowledge and will always be there to drop some facts with an "according to my research". Jyoti Kaur: The new kid after Phoebe. Jyoti is tech savvy and an inspiring inventor. Trivia: Arnold's hair was based off Orion from Orion and the Dark. Ralphie's outfit and Phoebe's hair was based off Travis and Addie from the Emoji Movie. Tim's outfit was based off an outfit I saw on Google. And his haircut was based off Cole H from Netflix's Leo. I gave Dorothy Ann a tablet like she has in Rides Again, making it the same color as her bag. Jyoti's drone is similar to Eli's drone from Netflix's Leo.
Here's two relatives of the class: Janet Perlstein: Arnold's rude, smug, manipulative, know-it-all cousin. Janet is one of the smartest kids of her school and will very gladly rub it in your face and brag about it. She's also very competitive and is not afraid to cheat and sabotage the competition. But Janet does have a caring heart, she's just too prideful to ever admit it. Miguel "Mikey" Ramón: Carlos' little brother and a tech genius like Jyoti, which is why the two become great friends. Mikey is much more friendly than Janet, though the class is often reluctant to ask him for help due to an "incident" involving a marshmallow smoker. Trivia: Like in the original books, my version of Janet is from another school. And I based her hairstyle off Sabrina from Miraculous Ladybug and Summer from Netflix Leo. I gave Mikey headphones, a fashion trend of techies. And changed his wheelchair to a sports wheelchair.
TMSB-MA: Short Character Summaries:
Ms. Valerie Frizzle: The eccentric, plucky, and magical science teacher extraordinaire. Valerie loves children and teaching them the magic and mysteries of the world, by taking her class on "field trips"... to the depths of the ocean, to the vastness of outer space, and even inside the human body.
Ms. Fiona Frizzle: The younger, tech-savvy, and high-energy sister of Valerie. While Valerie focuses on the "magic" of science, Fiona brings a modern edge with her gadgets and youthful enthusiasm. She’s just as adventurous as her sister but perhaps a bit more "go-go-go", making sure the class stays on the cutting edge of discovery.
Marvin the Magic School Bus: The magical, interchangeable, talkative school bus that takes the Frizzle Sisters' class on their fantastic field trips.
Goldie: The class pet monkey and Valerie's assistant.
Liz Ard: The class pet chameleon and Fiona's assistant.
Phoebe Terese: The soft-spoken and nature-loving new kid of the class. Phoebe loves animals and hopes to be a zoologist. Phoebe often mentioned how very different things are compared to her old school.
Lily Cox: The class's aesthetic eye and logistical backbone. Lily proves that science and style aren't mutually exclusive; she's the one who keeps the group’s plans (and field trip gear) neatly coordinated. If there’s a mess to be cleaned or a schedule to be kept, Lily is on it with flair.
Wyatt Tucker: Observant, curious, and never one to take things at face value. Wyatt is the "detective" of the group, always looking for the why behind the science. He has a knack for spotting small details the others might miss during a chaotic bus transformation.
Benny Watson: The heart of the classroom. Benny is the kid everyone turns to when a field trip gets a little too intense. He’s empathetic, grounded, and has a natural talent for diffusing tension between classmates, making sure everyone feels included and safe—even inside a volcano.
Arnold Perlstein: The sensible and very anxious kid of the class. Unlike most of the kids, Arnold is far more reluctant and even afraid to go on the field trips, always fearing that things will go wrong (which they more than often do) but goes along anyway. Arnold loves rocks and wants to be a geologist when he grows up.
Ralphie Tennelli: The most sporty kid of the class, Ralphie enjoys field trips that involves any kind of sports. Ralphie is also pretty competitive and has an ego.

Jyoti is tech-savvy and an inspiring inventor.

Appearance: Professor Frizzle has her namesake frizzy red hair pulled into an unkempt bun. In the original series and books, she often wears an intricate shirt-waist dress that ties in with the day's lesson by book. The pictures on her dresses often move or glow, thus prompting Keesha to ask "Where does she get her clothes?" Often when she talks, or when she gets that "twinkle in her eye", her earrings glow, normally signaling the idea for or the start of a new field trip. When she snaps her fingers, says certain phrases, or wears something related to the day’s topic, this usually signifies that she’s about to take the kids on a field trip to go more in depth on what they’re learning. She also has green eyes, and is rarely seen without a smile on her face.
Personality: Ms. Frizzle is an eccentric, adventure-seeking educator and often takes her students on strange field trips on the Magic School Bus, which sometimes result in her accidentally activating a source of magic on the Bus, which was going to go on a normal field trip (Inside a Beehive), or by The Bus automatically driving itself to the destination (At the Waterworks, Lost in the Solar System). She can pour the Bus's power into other modes of transportation, such as a cardboard school bus (And the Science Fair Expedition). Despite her zany ways and mysterious addiction to teaching and learning, she's always happy and supportive, like a normal teacher. She is never seen getting angry with her students and never punishes them, but instead helps and encourages them when they need it. She can also be described as intelligent, kindhearted, optimistic, caring, resourceful, happy-go-lucky, passionate, reliable, sweet, friendly, funny, supportive, selfless, cheerful, supportive, loving and motherly.
