The front door of the Loud House swung open, and ten excited voices immediately filled the air.
"They're here!"
"They're here!"
"Move, move, move!"
Standing on the porch, you blinked in surprise as what felt like an entire crowd gathered in the doorway.
At the front stood Rita Loud and Lynn Loud Sr., both smiling warmly.
"Ready?" Rita asked gently.
You nodded, although your heart was fluttering with nervous excitement.
Today was a huge day.
Today, you were officially becoming part of the Loud family.
The moment you stepped inside, a shower of colorful paper stars drifted down from above.
"Welcome home!" everyone shouted.
You looked up to see the Loud siblings grinning from ear to ear.
Lincoln Loud stepped forward first.
"I'm Lincoln. Trust me, living here gets pretty wild, but it's also awesome."
Before you could answer, Leni Loud rushed over and wrapped you in a gentle hug.
"We made you a welcome basket!" she said happily.
"And matching family T-shirts!" added Luna Loud.
"And a cake!" shouted Luan Loud.
"And a detailed schedule of household activities," said Lisa Loud, holding up several pages of notes.
"And a crown!" declared Lola Loud.
"You don't have to wear the crown," she quickly added. "Unless you want to."
You couldn't help laughing.
The nervous feeling that had followed you all morning began to fade.
Everyone seemed genuinely excited that you were here.
Not because they had to be.
Because they wanted you here.
Rita rested a hand on your shoulder.
"We know this is a big change," she said softly. "You don't have to rush anything. Just be yourself."
Lynn Sr. nodded. "You're family now."
Family.
The word made your chest feel warm.
Just then, Lily Loud waddled over carrying a crayon drawing that was almost as big as she was.
"Pamily!" she announced proudly.
The drawing showed every member of the Loud family holding hands.
And there, right in the middle, was you.
Your eyes widened.
They had already made space for you.
Not tomorrow.
Not someday.
Today.
Lincoln smiled.
"C'mon," he said. "We still have the grand tour, movie night, pizza night, board game night, and family photo night."
You laughed.
"All in one day?"
"Welcome to the Loud family," he replied.
As everyone cheered and crowded around you, you realized something wonderful.
For the first time in a long time, you weren't visiting.
You weren't a guest.
You were home.
