The Lost Boys

--The World--

The year is 2025, and the world ended four years ago due to a faulty vaccine made by a medical company called PureWellness. The vaccine was advertised as something that could cure many diseases or ailments, something that's never been seen before. The vaccine ended up turning people into zombie-like beings that could infect others if their spit entered one's bloodstream. The bloodthirsty zombies quickly took over, and brought about the end of the world. There are some safe zones that are protected by remaining military members, but overall, there's small clusters of survivors here and there. Some will sometimes trade with each other or join groups together, but will also often attack each other for supplies.

--The Zombies--

The zombies are very quick and dangerous. They take on the appearance of being very pale, with skin dying and veins black. Their eyes are blank and glassy, and sometimes mold or fungi will grow on the zombie. Skin can also rot away and show guts and bone. If one is bitten, the speed of the infection taking over varies on where they're bitten. If the neck, face, or head is bitten then the infection will spread in 5 - 10 minutes. If the torso, arm, shoulder, or hand is bitten then the infection will spread in 2 - 8 hours. If the leg or foot is bitten then the infection will spread in 12 - 24 hours. The spread of infection in visible, with skin dying and veins beginning to blacken, so if the bitten limb is able to be cut off quick enough, then the victim can be saved from the infection fully spreading.

Sarah Marie Campbell - The leader of the group, and is nineteen years old. Sarah is Canadian-American. She is around 5'6 in height, has a curvy body type, and usually has her hair styled in long twin tail braids with her bangs framing her face. Sarah has dark brown hair, green eyes, tan skin, and freckles across her nose and on her arms. She lived with her parents and her brother before the apocalypse. Sarah lost her father to the vaccine, and barely managed to escape before he infected/killed her mother (Mikayla) and brother (Liam). She's very stoic and stubborn, and hates talking about her past life with her family. She also tends to have a salty attitude and is wary of new people. Sarah has a particularly soft spot for her girlfriend, Lucy. Sarah is a lesbian. Sadie lived in a survivor camp shortly after the death of her family, and also met Daniel there when he was five years old. He was shoved into her arms during an attack, and she vowed to keep him safe every since.

Lucy Alexa Mayfields - Lucy is sort of like the co-leader of the group, and also tends to the garden in the old train car that used to be a passenger car. She has shoulder length, wavy blonde hair and blue eyes. She has light skin, and a large birthmark across her left eye. Lucy is around 5'7 in height, a thin body type, and is eighteen years old. Lucy was living in a very abusive foster home before the apocalypse, and her family managed to get to a safe zone within the first few months of the end of the world. But, the safe zone eventually collapsed due to a zombie horde, and she came across the old train deep within the woods. She met Sarah and Daniel there when she was severely injured, and the two had decided to work together. They later found the other members of the group. Lucy is French, and her family moved to America when she was three. Her birth parents both passed away in a car crash when she was four, and she doesn't remember them very well. Lucy is Pansexual.

Milo James Hart - Milo is the medic of the group, and he's very protective of his friends. He was the last to join the group when he was found by Lucy when she was looking for supplies. Milo is eighteen years old. Milo has fluffy brown hair, and it usually gets in his eyes as it's slightly grown out. He has dark tan skin and hazel colored eyes, and is around 5'5 in height. He has a slender body type. Milo is very sweet and protective, and he looks out for others fiercely. Milo is Hispanic-American, and was adopted by two men named Micah and Ryan when he was put in the system after his birth. He has no idea who his birth parents are. Milo lived with his fathers, Micah and Ryan, when the apocalypse began. Ryan got infected from the vaccine, but Milo and Micah had managed to escape. Micah got bitten by a zombie when they were attacked by a cluster, but Milo was able to escape thanks to Micah's sacrifice and was found by a survivor group. A year later, they were attached and split up by a zombie horde. Milo managed to escape, and around three days after the attack, Milo was found by Lucy and taken back to the train to join the group. Milo has a lot of trauma and PTSD from his parent's deaths and the attack on his survivor group. Milo is Bisexual.

Jaxx Elliot McCallen - Jaxx is seventeen and a half years old, and he's the crafty one in the group. He designed the traps that keep their little base safe, and will repair/create new weapons for the members of the group. Jaxx came out as transgender, female to male, when he was fifteen. He hasn't been able to get gender affirming treatment due to the apocalypse, but he's very confident and secure in his identity and uses a binder. Jaxx has shoulder length, fluffy ginger hair and green eyes. He has light skin and freckles across nose, and is around 5'6 in height. He has a thin body type, and is very agile and nimble. Jaxx is very shy and quiet, but he feels comfortable around his friends and will talk a lot about a topic that he's interested in. Jaxx grew up with his grandparents after his father passed away from cancer when Jaxx was fourteen. It was an incredibly traumatizing event for Jaxx, and the topic of his father is a sore subject. His grandparents were both infected by zombies after the apocalypse started, as they both had physical problems and weren't able to escape. Jaxx was able to find a safe zone, where he lived for two years before it was taken over by zombie hordes. Jaxx met Emery while he was making his escape, and the two teamed up and managed to live. After a month of wandering, they were found and taken in by Sarah. While she's usually mistrusting of newcomers, she had a soft spot for them since they were just children. Jaxx proved to be very crafty and helpful, and he often makes new gadgets for the group with Emery's help. Jaxx is Aroace.

Emery Lilly Forest - Emery is fifteen years old, and she's somewhat of a mechanic and an engineer. Emery has dark skin and curly black hair, as well as blue eyes. She's around 5'4 in height and has a midsized body type. She was the head of her robotics class in high school, and her mother owned an auto repair shop. Emery only had her mother, Lisa, growing up as her father had left them when Lisa got pregnant. Emery was very close with her mom, so when she lost her due to infection from the vaccine and inevitably had to kill her, Emery was absolutely devastated. She was taken to a safe zone, and was fostered by a kind family. While she never became close with them, she very much appreciated all they did for her. When the safe zone was attacked, Emery bumped into Jaxx while trying to escape. Being some of the only children left alive, the two teamed up to try and survive. When they were found by Sarah a month later, Emery quickly looked up to the older girl and became like Sarah's little sister. Emery is always experimenting with parts that the others bring back to her, and has her own little lab of sorts in an old sleeping car of the train.

Daniel Carter Jones - Daniel is a six year-old boy who's the little brother of the group. He has short blonde hair, light skin, and brown eyes. Daniel was only two years old when the apocalypse started, and doesn't really remember anything from those first three years. He remembered meeting Sarah during an attack where he was pushed into his arms by his mother, who wasn't able to escape due to a limp in her right leg that severely slowed her down. Sadie and Daniel managed to find the old train in the woods outside the city, and Sadie protected him. Daniel's extremely close with Sadie and Jaxx, and is often called 'Danny' by the rest of the group.

The group lives on an old train that was stalled on it's track in the middle of the woods, a couple mile from the city. It's covered in vines on the outside, and a few windows are broken, but it is cozy and it was safe. The whole thing is protected by large fence that they had made with seared off parts from buildings and such and brought back to the train. Several of the carts have been turned into 'rooms'-- one for a garden, one for a kitchen, a little medbay, a lab for Emery and Jaxx to craft new gadgets, and bedrooms. Sadie and Lucy share a bedroom, as well as Jaxx and Daniel.
