What are Locusts: The Locust, often called Grubs by Serans, are a all female race of genetically modified humans that developed advanced technology, culture, and language in the Hollow, the subterranean regions of Sera. Hybridized from mutated humans and indigenous creatures of the Hollow, the Locust originated around fifty years prior to Emergence Day when the COG Department of Health commissioned the New Hope Research Facility in an effort to treat the children of Imulsion miners afflicted with Rustlung. Director Niles Samson used Imulsion and DNA from Hollow creatures to mutate the children into unstable human-animal chimeras, known as "Sires". The unethical experimentation led New Hope getting shut down, but the research was relocated to a secret research lab in Mount Kadar. There, Niles combined Sire DNA with the embryonic stem cells of Myrrah, a human female genetically immune to Imulsion, to create the Locust as a biological weapon to use in the Pendulum Wars against the Union of Independent Republics. Myrrah was telepathically connected to the Locust through the Hivemind, and led a rebellion as their Queen to become independent. Upon building their capital city of Nexus, the Locust experienced an outbreak of Lambency and resulted in a civil war. The conflict forced the Locust to emerge onto the surface and wage a genocidal war against humanity in an effort to colonize the surface.

What do Locusts look like: The Default appearance for what a Locus looks like it the Drone with The standard Locust Drone being a muscular, bipedal humanoid standing roughly 6 feet 7 inches tall and weighing about 265 pounds, blending human and reptilian physical traits, they are bald, have black lips, sharp teeth, large breasts, well defined thighs and asses, they also have yellow eyes with black sclera. They have pale or grey skin covered in tough, rock-hard black scales that act as natural armour against blunt force and blade attacks, They feature heavy, dense bone structures and thick muscle mass, making them significantly stronger and broader than average humans. Their eyes are adapted for pitch-black subterranean environments, giving them exceptional dark vision, though bright sunlight hurts and blinds them without protective goggles.

Name/Title: The Kantus

Role in Hunting party: Field Medic / Leader / Priest

Physical Description: a Lighter, thinner, and more reptilian priests/medics with split tongues and elongated heads compared to the rest of their kind, though their lithe bodies don't take away from their well endowed figures, much like the Boomer they also lack lips. The Locust Kantus typically wear a decorative leather hood or cap-style headpiece rather than a standard enclosed combat helmet like they're kin

Other Information: Kantus are a unique Locust race with certain abilities. Taller and more slender than Drones and with a pharyngeal jaw, the Kantus have also have vocalizing powers. With their voice, the Kantus were able to tap into the Hivemind and heal the wounds of other Locust, reviving and rallying them in battle, acting as field medics. The Kantus could also use their voice to control certain creatures, including the Rockworms and Riftworms. The Kantus would often lead Locust hunting parties and lure out Rockworms to slaughter and consume. In battle, the Kantus could also produce a scream capable of incapacitating their enemies. However, the main role of the Kantus were priests of the Trinity of Worms, the main religion of the Locust Horde. The Kantus worshipped three Riftworms, who they believed were responsible for creating the Hollow and giving life to the Locust.

Name/Title: The Drones

Physical description: The Drones are essentially the default of the Locusts and all look the same more or less, The standard Locust Drone is a muscular, bipedal humanoid standing roughly 6 feet 7 inches tall and weighing about 265 pounds, blending human and reptilian physical traits, they are bald, have black lips, sharp teeth. The Standard Locust Drone armor is a sleeveless vest and lower-body gear made from the tough, durable leather hides of creatures native to the Hollow

Other Information: Drones are the most common race of Locust. While usually at least six feet, it was possible for Drones to grow to twelve feet in height. In terms of appearance, the Drones had most in common with a regular human. Drones were bred to kill, torture and breed their enemies, with most acting as foot soldiers for the Locust Army to protect their Queen and Nexus. Due to being part of the Hivemind, Drones could be telepathically communicated with and remotely controlled, by the Queen, but Myrrah allowed relative free will as the Locusts naturally devoted their lives to her in order to maintain their species and were willing to die in service to her.

Physical description: The Boomers are a larger, more obese and stronger version of the drones, except they lack lips. Locust Boomer armor consists of thick metal chest and shoulder plates with a distinct center connection design and an exposed belly which is safe for them due to their durable skin

Other Information: Boomers are larger Drones in size and strength, but with a diminished intelligence capacity. Boomers were so named for their known trait of verbally declaring their action before it was performed. For instance, a Boomer would shout "BOOM!" before firing from the Boomshot Grenade Launcher. The Boomers acted as heavy weapons specialists within the Locust Army, similar to tanks. They were often used to either protect Locust squadrons or to break through barriers. Boomers that were not in the Locust Army primarily served as laborers of the Locust Horde due to their low intelligence and brute strength, such as construction workers and butchers. Their devotion to the Queen and Horde, however, was just as strong as the Drones'.

Physical description: Berserkers are the most unique version of the Locust, they are the towering, blind, and hyper-aggressive Locust, possessing a radically different, ultra-durable quadrupedal build, they're so aggressive in fact that they often have to be chained up just so they don't kill other locusts. due to their armour like skin and aggressive state they don't wear clothes or armour, letting their much larger breasts, thighs and ass to be fully exposed with not a care in the world

Other Information: At an average height of ten feet, Berserkers were able to destroy most structures, jump at incredible heights and lengths, and sprint at very high speeds. They were so named for their feral and highly aggressive nature. Berserkers are myopic and rely on their other senses to navigate their environment and hunt their prey. Known to kill humans and Locust alike, Berserkers would clobber and dismember their victims. Berserkers were often used in the Locust Army to either hunt humans or to destroy barriers.
