   The Lion Guard is a team of animals who protect the Pride Lands and defend the Circle of Life. The Lion Guard is the team tasked with the job of defending the Pride Lands from danger, traditionally led by the second-born cub of the current leader of the Pride Lands. The leader of the Guard is bestowed with the power of the Roar of the Elders, which helps them in battle. Each member is bestowed a marking upon their shoulder in the shape of a roaring male lion's head. The mark may differ in color, seemingly depending on the fur, skin, or feather color of the animal with the mark. Interestingly, if a member of the guard passes their role on the team to someone else their mark will disappear when the leader gives the new member the role. While usually most Lion Guard leaders only choose four members to join the guard, they can have additional members or old members still continue to be on the team when the leader assigns them a new role.

   The Lion Guard is a tradition within the Pride Lands, especially for the second born child of the reigning monarchy. The very first leader was Askari, who created the Lion Guard himself as a way to combat a great evil. Generations later, Scar led the Lion Guard before Kion, but he was irresponsible with his duties, corrupted his purpose and abused his powers, using the Roar of the Elders to destroy the other members of the Guard, which resulted in him completely losing the power of the roar forever. However, very little has been revealed of past Lion Guards. Kion's Lion Guard is the only Guard in history with only one lion.

   The Lion Guard is confsed of five members. The leader, the fastest, the strongest, the bravest and the keenest of sight.

2. #2Roar of the Elders

   The Roar of the Elders is an intensely powerful roar that is bestowed on the leader of the Lion Guard. It is currently possessed by Kion, the son of Simba and Nala.

   While the firstborn cub of the monarch is destined to become the next Ruler of the Pride Lands, the second-born cub is tasked with leading the Lion Guard, a group dedicated to preserving the kingdom and defending the Circle of Life. As its leader, the second-born cub is expected to be the fiercest of the group and is thus gifted with the Roar of the Elders by the Great Lions of the Past. When the leader of the Lion Guard uses the Roar of the Elders, four of the ancient lions roar along with them, instilling extremely powerful sound vibrations in the cry. The Roar is strong enough to blast downward-falling water upward, scatter a pile of boulders, or force someone else backward, sometimes sending them flying miles away. However, if the Roar is used in anger, regardless of the intent, it can cause mass destruction and there is a risk of it rebounding like an echo, which can cause natural disasters such as earthquakes. When used in anger, the clouds will be dark and stormy.

   The Roar can be controlled, if the user has faith in him or herself, allowing to direct the Roar's force as he or she wishes. Additionally, if directed at a cloud, the Roar has the ability to inflate it with water, thus causing it to rain for a short while.

   The Roar of the Elders can be used to summon the spirits of the Great Lions of the Past, mostly when they are needed to roar, and, if used in anger, it can even summon the spirit of an evil lion from the past. Instead of in clouds, evil lions appear in fire.

   The Circle of Life is an ideology that is held by all the creatures of the Pride Lands, some in the Outlands, many in the Back Lands and all at the Tree of Life.

   It states that everything exists in a delicate balance. All organisms (including plants and animals) are a part of it, and must respect it in order to maintain nature's balance and thus keep the current evolutionary era as long as possible.

   Animals who do not respect or ignore the Circle of Life are usually considered rogue and condemned to exile from the Pridelands, normally by the Lion King. Those who reenter will be driven out again by the Lion Guard. When an animal has passed away, it is said that they have completed their journey in (or through) the Circle of Life.

   Simba is the reigning king of the Pride Lands, the leader of his pride, the son of Mufasa and Sarabi, the nephew of Scar, the mate of Nala, the adoptive nephew of Timon and Pumbaa, and the father of Kiara and Kion.

   As a cub he resemblances his son Kion except without a red tuft of hair on his head. As a teenager, Simba gets bigger and starts to grow a red mane on his head. As an adult, Simba is a lion of great size and stature, with a large dark red mane and tail tuft. Many of his physical features are similar to those of his father Mufasa, such as his square jaw and small, pointed ears. He is powerfully built and broad-shouldered. His fur is brownish-gold, while his muzzle, paws, and underbelly are creamy tan. He has reddish-brown eyes, dark red-brown whiskers, and a pink nose. He strongly resembles his son, Kion.

   Simba is brave, sturdy, full of courage and kindness, and does his best to make his father proud. He is also an austere but caring father. He is very meticulous about keeping traditions, and he shows great concern about Kion and the formation of the new Lion Guard. However, he eventually came to accept the new Guard after they successfully thwarted Janja's Clan, which shows that he is also reasonable. Though he may seem a bit over-protective at times, Simba cares greatly about his family and the future of the Pride Lands. However, he hates his uncle Scar due to him killing his father Mufasa. He was nervous about ruling the Pride Lands for the first time.

   Simba can be irascible with those who do not listen to him and believes that it is best to think before acting. He holds his royal position in high regard and does not tolerate being disrespected. He also appears to have a short temper and tends to roar deeply when angered. As king, he respects each and every animal's customs and constantly tries to make peace in the Pride Lands. He understands that everyone makes mistakes, and believes that what is done to correct those mistakes is what matters. Despite his preference to assume leadership over certain circumstances, he understands when he must give the leadership to others, and follow the guidance of others. As noted by Nala he can also be very obstinate.

    Nala is the reigning Queen of the Pride Lands, Simba's mate and mother of her two cubs, Kiara and Kion, the daughter of her father, and the daughter-in-law of Mufasa and Sarabi.

    Nala is a full-grown lioness with a dark tawny coat, pale tawny muzzle and underbelly, turquoise eyes, and a very dark pink nose. The tuft at the end of her tail is brown. She is built somewhat more narrowly than Simba and is slightly shorter. In addition, the area between her eye and her eyebrow is paler than this color rather than darker. Nala has slender dark brown eyebrows. Unlike Simba and both of her cubs, her toes do not have any marks of her second fur color. Her eyebrows are dark brown and thin.

    Nala is assertive and determined, with a sense of responsibility. She is confident and always has faith in her loved ones, of whom she is very complimentary and encouraging. She never hesitates to offer her support, guidance, and affection when it is needed. To her nothing is more important in her life than to keep her whole family happy and secure. Despite her usually gentle demeanor, she is brave, sharp, and firm in the face of enemies. Although it is never her first choice to solve problems with violence, she will fight if she must. She is also calm and understanding and is a caring mother, who is always there if her children need her help or council.

    Kiara is the daughter of Simba and Nala, Kion's older sister, the grandniece of Scar, the granddaughter of Mufasa, Sarabi, and the future Queen of the Pride Lands.

    Kiara embodies a unique blend of both of her parents. She has her mother's facial features and slender build. She is a young lioness with pale golden-orange fur. Her coat is a perfect blend of the colors of both her mother's and father's pelts, with a cream underbelly, muzzle, and paws. Her eyes are amber-brown and her nose and inner ears are purplish pink. She has narrow dark brown eyebrows, similar to Nala's. The tuft at the end of Kiara's tail is a soft brown hue. Her sclerae are a vivid shade of yellow, the same as those of her father's, and distinctively brighter than most.

    Kiara is kind, loyal, strong, determined and independent. She is assertive and sometimes stubborn in her decisions. She's also a little snarky towards her younger brother, who is equally snarky back, though she truly does care for him. Kiara often employs sarcasm, when she is irritated. However, she is also polite and doesn't hesitate to express her gratitude.

    Kiara shows much excitement in becoming the future queen of the Pride Lands. She displays a great sense of responsibility, especially in her position as the future queen of Pride Rock, despite having reservations about the lack of fun and freedom when she was a very small cub. She also respects and understands the Circle of Life, and willingly shares her knowledge of it with her friends. Kiara loves and cares for her father Simba and does not want to let him down. Bad odors bother her, though she did not mind when Bunga used them to save her. Unlike her friends Tiifu and Zuri, Kiara believes that there are more important things than appearance. She also have saved them when they are in danger. Despite being friends with the two, she doesn't always approve of their antics and can either get frustrated or call them out for their behavior.

    Nonetheless, she is caring and supportive of her friends as seen when Tiifu gets scared in The Underground Adventure. Kiara also views her family royal duties as very important, more than ever since Scar has returned and dislikes it when her brother and his guard are called for such minor emergencies. And yet, she can be playful at times, when Kiara played with her brother while at the mud pots. She is a very moral lioness, believing that there's good inside everyone.

    Kiara is secretely attracted by Kovu who she meet in secret.

    Kiara is currently still a cub.

12. #12Mufasa

    Mufasa is a Great Lion of the Past, Scar's older brother, Sarabi's mate, Simba's father, Nala's father-in-law, Kiara and Kion's paternal grandfather and the former King of the Pride Lands.

    Mufasa died before Kion and Kiara's births. Mufasa's spirit appear in the clouds when Kion needs to talk to him.

    Mufasa is shown in the clouds with dulled color. He is a powerful, strong well-built lion, with orange fur and a creamy peach muzzle and underbelly. His mane is thick and dark red, the same color being present on the tuft at the end of his tail. His eyes are dark brown, and his nose is pink. He has a square jaw, small eyes, and thin eyebrows. In a cave painting, he was shown to be taller and broader than his brother Scar.

    Mufasa was a wise king, and this trait is still present as a spirit. And yet, he is convinced that confidence comes from inside of oneself, not from what others think as well. He is kind-hearted, understanding, and encouraging, always ready to pay very close attention to Kion's concerns, and offered helpful advice to boost Kion's spirits. Mufasa, like Kion, Simba and the rest of his living family, respects and understands the Circle of Life. He believes that family should constantly support each other, and that while there are times to back down, true leaders must also know when to stand their ground.

    Despite his supposedly wise and caring nature, it's revealed in a flashback that during his younger years, Mufasa gave his younger brother the nickname of "scar" after Scar himself defeated a rogue lion and cobra who attempted to host an uprising against the great King himself by using Scar's power. This shows that as a teenager, he can be cocky, playful, but also very foolish, and insensitive, as this infuriated his brother, and eventually set a rift between the siblings so powerful, that it would lead to Mufasa's undoing.

13. #13Scar

    Scar was the formerly younger brother of Mufasa, the uncle of Simba, granduncle of Kiara and Kion, and the brother-in-law of Sarabi.

    In the past, Scar possessed the Roar of the Elders, led the Lion Guard, and later after having killed both Mufasa and his Lion guard, and exiling Simba, ruled the Pride Lands.

    Unlike other known lions in the Pride Lands Scar had a dark orange (deep brown in one painting) coat with a sleek, thick, darker black mane and a light hair tuft on his chin. He had a triangular face and a pale muzzle and underbelly. His eyes were green when he was alive but in the volcano they are white, with a dark scar, running down the left one. As an teenager, his mane was short and reached his chest, but this grew bigger as an adult, stretching to his underbelly. In addition, he gained black tufts on the back of his forelegs. Like all Lion Guard leaders, he possessed the Mark of the Guard, which later faded once the Roar of the Elders was stripped from him. In The Lion Guard Magazine, Scar is shown as a burnt orange lion with a black mane and paler fur on his muzzle, toes, and underbelly. Tufts of black fur are present on the elbows of his arms. The fur on his lower jaw is long, and his nose is black. He has a long muzzle, sharp features, and a thin, pink scar over his left eye.

    As a fiery disembodied spirit, Scar has dark orange-brown coloring with a yellow nose and markings on his ears and the edge of facial fur. He has pale yellow eyes. His scar is shown as being pure white.

    Scar's personality is the polar opposite of Mufasa's: he's ruthless, mean-spirited, power-hungry, jealous, cruel, pompous, manipulative, charismatic, and insane. He is quite simply, pure evil. His jealousy stemmed from the fact that his brother was chosen to be king, a role which Scar believed should belong to him for boasting more intelligence. Scar was so hungry for power that he resorted to removing his own family and eliminating the kingdom for good. Likewise, Scar had no qualms about slaughtering his Lion Guard when they refused to help him overthrow Mufasa, even smiling in satisfaction after killing them, showing that he never truly cared for them. It was his thirst for power that caused him to lose the Roar of the Elders, and stripped the Pride Lands of its protectors.

    Unlike the majority of Pride Landers, he does not believe in the Circle of Life concept and cares only about himself and his own glory. He is also highly intelligent, capable of planning ingenious schemes, and has a very low tolerance for individuals who show a lack of intelligence and for failure. Scar has been known to use others to perform his deeds, keeping himself out of sight from those who may cause him harm and gets overconfident at times. During his reign, back when he was alive, Scar allowed the hyenas, lions, and other scavengers to hunt without limit, with no regard for the other animals living in the Pride Lands, which eventually forced the herds to move on, leaving the predators with nothing to eat. In spite of the obvious that there was nothing left, Scar didn't care about the Pride Lands falling into ruin nor for those under his rule, refusing to acknowledge the obvious or his own ineptitude as a ruler, and lashing out violently at the mere mention of his brother's name or being compared to Mufasa, once angrily declaring, "I'm TEN TIMES the king Mufasa was!!"

    During his younger years, as leader of his Guard, Scar often did patrols on his own, showing his confidence. He was also a bit naive, as he trusted a no-account rouge that ended up double-crossing him, which ended up wounding him in the end. However, he proved to be very tactic with his intentions as after he turned traitor and slaughtered the stranger in revenge, he spun the narrative around in his favor to make him the hero of the story, showing his lust for attention.

14. #14Bunga

    Bunga is the adoptive nephew of Timon and Pumbaa, Kion's best friend, a former member of the Lion Guard.

    As an infant, Bunga's appearance doesn't change much except that he is smaller and his eyes are bigger. Bunga's body is shown to be of a good build, and has a gray-blue fur all over, with a darker patch across his belly. He has muscular forelegs and a round face. His claws are more of a dark royal blue color. He has black pads on the soles of his feet. Lining the undersides of his forelegs is pure white fur. This fur color is also present across his back, and continues all the way up to his forehead.

    His eyes are very dark blue, with thick black eyebrows. His inner ears are pink, and his nose is dark-magenta. Three slightly darker spots can be found on either side of his face. He also appears to have a slight overbite. He has large front teeth with a prominent gap in between them.

    His Mark of the Guard can be found on his left foreleg, just like the other members, in a brighter tint than the rest of his coat.

    Bunga is a fearless and a brave young honey badger with a strong sense of adventure. He often doesn't consider his own personal safety, like in The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar, when he jumps into the Outlands and gets caught by Cheezi and Chungu. Initially, he seemed to have no respect for Simba, calling him a "big ol' scaredy cat", for giving rules to Kion. But, even so, he still always came to Simba's aid. However, in Bunga and the King, he and Simba declared each other brothers. Bunga is an almost stupid and ignorant honey badger, noted by Kiara in Return of the Roar. Bunga can be arrogant at times, as seen in Never Judge a Hyena by Its Spots, when he leads the Guard, in Kion's absence, and is too proud to admit that he had gotten them lost on the way Flat Ridge Rock.

    He is a strong believer in "zuka zama"- "pop up and dive in". He uses this phrase quite frequently and is eager to share what it means to others. However, though this philosophy differs greatly from that of his two uncles', he has also used the phrase "hakuna matata" multiple times and even sang the song Hakuna Matata when he was feeling downhearted. He has a tendency to jump to conclusions before engaging in further thought.. He also believes in quick and easy solutions. Bunga also appears to be rather full of himself and has been shown complimenting his flavor and his voice. He likes companionship, and loneliness does not suit him. He does his best to please his uncles, Timon and Pumbaa. Despite his shortcomings, Bunga is loyal to Kion and the Lion Guard and is always ready to help those in need. He is proud to be a member, and cares for all of his friends, though he is occasionally insensitive about their feelings. In addition to his confidence in his own skills, he is also very positive about what the Lion Guard can take on.

    Bunga appears to have a knowledge of different fighting techniques, as he listed each move used by Pua and Makuu during the Mashindano.. In this same thing, he appeared to greatly enjoy watching the fight, despite the solemn expressions of the Guard and the royal family. He also has a neglect for hygiene; in this way, he is very different from his egret friend Ono.

    Bunga also has a soft spot for baby animals. He thinks they are cute and likes it to babysit as seen in Babysitter Bunga.

    Also at times, Bunga can be clever at times seen in Return of the Roar, where Bunga used his stink to keep the gazelle away from Kiara or in Bunga the Wise, where he led the guard in damming up the lake and also in The Bite of Kenge, where he used the moniter lizard's anger against him.

    Bunga is a ball of energy who always wants to have fun and explore. He and Kion appear to be polar opposites. Bunga is reckless and lacks all maturity, as seen in Fuli's New Family, when he attempts to play in a volcano, in The Outlands. Bunga is a trustworthy, but distracted member of the Lion Guard and is Kion's best friend.

15. #15Fuli

    Fuli is Kion's friend and later his second in command, a former member of the Lion Guard and a current member of the Night Pride at the Tree of Life. She is a cheetah, specifically a queen cheetah, and her special ability is her very fast speed.

    As a cub, most of Fuli's appearance is the same, except that she lacks the stripes on her head, and her spots are smaller and a lighter shade of brown. Her nose is bright pink, and her tail tip is a bit fluffier. Her yellow fur is also a bit paler. Fuli has the appearance of a king cheetah with soft, vivid yellow fur, with many light brown spots and markings all over her body. Of these spots, she has five rectangular spots with smaller spots within them, as well as three spots on either side of her face, three on the top of each ear, and a small heart-shaped spot on her head. On the back of her head is also an arrow like shape that resembles the one that Avatar the last airbender has. Also on her back she has two little heart-shaped spots as well. The heart-shaped spot on her head is bigger than it is when she’s older. Some are solid, while others have hollow centers. Her inner ears are light brown, rimmed with dark brown.

    Her muzzle, paws, and underbelly are a pale creamy-yellow, as is the fur encircling her eyes. Her eye color is a strong emerald green and she has black eyelashes. Her nose is a similar brown to that found in her ear, with a tawny brown bridge. Fuli is lithe and thin, with a light frame, large pointed ears, and a long tail, that is tapered at the base. Her jaw is sharp and prominent. On her left shoulder, she is shown to have the Mark of the Guard imprinted in dark orange.

    Fuli is confident and independent. She is well aware that she is the fastest animal, and isn't afraid to say it. She has been called "tough, smart, and no-nonsense". Though usually wearing a confident smile, she is quick to grasp the seriousness of dangerous situations.

    She can act haughty and slightly arrogant, but has a good sense of logic and is shown to be a loyal and caring friend, getting deeply worried about those she cares about, when they are in danger or distress. Despite this, she isn't afraid to tease them or snap at them. She is very independent and prefers to hunt alone, but considers the other members of the Lion Guard like her family. She can be sarcastic and fairly short-tempered, often saying "Seriously?!", when she gets annoyed. Fuli appears to be slightly resentful to the fact the lions rule over the Pride Lands, though as she treats them with kindness and respect, she appears to harbor no actual dislike towards the royal family. She dislikes water, getting muddy, bugs including termites, having her fur touched, and baboons. She also detests certain odors, such as Bunga's stink. She has also mentioned having nightmares about baboons chasing her before, which likely contributes to her dislike of some animals. In certain situations, such as when Kion is absent, she displays a sense of firm authority.

    Fuli can be impatient, and does not like to wait around. As noted by Mzingo, she seems to be unaware of the fact that even cheetahs have their limits, believing that she is always at her full strength. Fuli, like the rest of the Guard, cares about the Pride Landers and does her very best to protect the Circle of Life. She uses her gift of speed to assist animals in need, and will not always wait for the rest of the Guard to come along. However, she has agreed to wait for her friends, though shortly after she asked that they try to move faster. She is harsh and fierce when confronting those, who do not respect the Circle of Life.

    Being the most temperamental member of the Guard, Fuli would usually resort to violence first, as she was the first one to step in when she saw Jasiri as a threat before discovering that she is a good hyena.

16. #16Beshte

    Beshte is the son of Basi, one of Kion's friends, a former member of the Lion Guard and a current member of the Night Pride. His specialty in the group is his strength.

    As an infant not much about Beshte changes except that he is smaller. Beshte has a stout body with thick legs, dark gray-purple toenails, and three dark spots on his back. His body color is that of a neutral gray, which becomes much paler across his chest and jawline. His inner ears are pale pink, and the area around his eyes is a lighter shade of his body color. He has a short tail. Beshte is a slightly obese hippopotamus, but still much built up. His size appears slightly abnormal for a hippo, as his father Basi has a less circular and even admitted in "Beshte and the Hippo Lanes" that he is not as strong as his son, despite being much older.

    His head has a small tuft of grey-black hair which stands upright. His snout is large, with two teeth protruding out from his upper lips. His eye color is blue, with black eyebrows. The Mark of the Guard can be seen on his left leg in a grey-cream color; and when Kion retires from being leader of the Lion Guard, he receives the Mark of the Night Pride, the same colour as before, but this time on his right leg. Beshte, in animation errors, occasionally has a notch on his ear.

    Beshte has been described as a happy-go-lucky and enthusiastic hippopotamus. He is the most genial character in the group and is very kind, friendly, encouraging, and outgoing. He speaks with a surprisingly soft demeanor despite his size and is happy to be part of the Lion Guard. When trouble is afoot, he shows tremendous strength and courage and does not hesitate to charge enemies.

    He is a bit scatterbrained, and sometimes forgets things mid-conversation. It doesn't take much for him to get quite temperamental and emotional, and he is easily moved by touching moments. He is noted to be extremely authoritative, trustworthy, and reliable in the sense that he doesn't make things up, and knows that he can count on the other members of the Lion Guard. Beshte is the conversational and understanding animal in the Pride Lands. He is very laid back, as it takes a lot to upset him. However, he is also quite sensitive to having his feelings hurt, as seen in "The Imaginary Okapi". Beshte is also very sympathetic and demonstrative towards the fears, worries, or troubles of others.

    Like Kion, Beshte despairs at the thought of letting his father down. Beshte is also the perfect example of someone who is your friend for life, but also someone who is there to keep bullies away.

17. #17Ono

    Ono is one of Kion's closest friends, a former member of the Lion Guard, and a current member of the Night Pride. His specialties are his keen eyesight and his intelligence.

    As a hatchling, Ono looked mostly the same, except that he is smaller and his crest feathers are more rounded. Ono is a narrowly built bird with a very skinny pair of black legs that are striped with orange, which lead to a pair of orange claws. The end of each claw also has a black spot. His upper body is compact, with pure white feathers across the main part of his body. Some pale orange and yellow feathers reach into the end of his wings and form a band around his neck.

    He has a long, pointy orange beak and lavender circles across his large eyes. His eyelids are a slightly more bluish shade. Atop his head, he sports a crest of five feathers of differing lengths, starting off with a light yellow at the bases and transitioning to a slightly dark tangerine orange near the tips. His Mark of the Guard was silver and could be found on his left wing.

    Ono is described as an intellectual and brainy egret. He has been shown to be very alert, warning his flock of Kion and Bunga's impending presence. He is often in the sky, seeking out specific targets, such as Kiara amidst the gazelle stampede and Mzingo in the sky. He never hesitates to take to the air and seek out animals in help, and will sometimes act even before Kion asks him to. Ono is loyal to Kion and rarely questions his leader. Ono likes to feel like a valued member of the Guard, and is very insistent that he will always be the keenest of sight, though he originally showed doubt before the Lion Guard battled hyenas. He does his best to prove himself, and cares deeply for his friends. He is also somewhat of a smart alec.

    Though he has a distaste for violence, Ono is a fierce fighter and will bravely take on adversaries. He usually helps out by scouting out animals in need of help during a fight, or warning his friends of incoming enemies. He has taken on vultures multiple times, probably because he is the only member of the Guard that can fly. He doesn't need to hear anything more than his name to take wing and scout something out.

    Ono is the pessimistic and realistic member of the Guard. He sees things as they are, and is not reluctant to voice his observations. He is extremely logical and sees no need to sugarcoat any facts. However, he has made attempts to be encouraging before, but without good results. Ono is a very clean animal. He is frequently seen washing himself, and becomes agitated or worried at any potential dirt or mess that might fall upon him. Ono also prefers that others keep themselves clean, and bad smells, such as Bunga's odor, disgust him. Ono is also very blunt and straightforward, and is unafraid to show his annoyance to other animals. He has a wry sense of humor, which he displays rather frequently. Rarely, he will even tease his friends. Whilst he is happy to impart his knowledge with others, he is also easily irritated by those who choose to mock him or his suggestions. Ono is quite well-informed in regards to the animals of the Serengeti and the Pride Lands, and he often states facts out loud for the benefit of his friends. Ono is very respectful to royalty and is noted to be punctual. A determined bird, Ono won't stop until he finds a solution.

    According to Bunga, Ono is flamboyant. He also has a fear of bats. He is prideful of his crest feathers.

    Kovu is a stocky lion cub with red-brown fur. He has a hair tuft of dark brown fur, the beginnings of a mane, on the top of his head. On either side, fur sticks out from his chin. His forelegs have tufts of dark brown fur emerging from them. His eyes are green, with dark rims resembling Scar's. His paws, underbelly, and muzzle are a beige color, and his underbelly doesn't extend up over his neck. He has an outlander shaped, black nose and three whiskers on either side of his muzzle.

    Kovu, unlike his mother and siblings, is very relaxed, kind and friendly, and doesn't necessarily believe in their cruel and violent, evil ways. Despite this, when his mother asks him to do something, he will obey and even approach his older sibling, should he try to disobey her. He holds no animosity towards the Lion Guard, frequently avoiding confrontation with them. He is shown to be excited at the prospect of living in the Pride Lands so he could see Kiara again. Kovu can be kinda flirty en self confident, trying to impress females.

    As a cub, Vitani had scruffy fur that was a dusty fulvous hue. Her muzzle, chest, underbelly, and paws were a creamy tan color. Her nose is deep pink and angular. The tuft at the end of her tail is brown. Her eyes are a bright blue.

    Vitani is a laid back and confident lioness who doesn't leap into battle unless it is necessary, though she responds fiercely when confronted. She is very confident, though it may come across as slightly being cocky. She appeared unimpressed by her brother, Nuka, whenever he tried to attack someone, showing her understanding of combat skills and her belief that she is far better than him. She is also shown to be very obendent to Zira.

    Rafiki is tall in stature and thinly built, composed of lanky limbs and a hunched back. His main pelt is scruffy and blue-gray in color, while his chest is pale gray. Both his hands and his feet are coated in black fur, his palms a pinkish-brown, and his muzzle matches his palms in color. His face itself is pale blue, broken only by sky blue cheeks, navy blue eye rims, and a bright red nose. His eyes are bright yellow, and his teeth are unexpectedly sharp. He also sports a white mane and goatee. His short tail has a bend in the middle.

    In addition to all of this he also carries a staff, which is almost always near him.

    Though he may talk in a cryptic manner which may be hard to understand at first, he is nevertheless very wise. Being a shaman, he has the power to talk to spirits like Mufasa. He is very excitable, as seen when Kion uses the Roar of the Elders for the first time. He is constantly shown to have great knowledge of a variety of different subjects. However, it is easy to settle him.

    As a teacher, Rafiki is calm, knowledgeable and patient with Makini and is quite proud of her as she learns her duties as the future Royal Mjuzi.

As the king's royal advisor and majordomo, he surveys the Pride Lands and delivers a daily Morning Report each day to the king of Pride Rock, bearing news good and bad and warning the king, queen, or Lion Guard of any possible trouble and/or danger for the Pride Lands.

    Zazu is a slender, adult, male hornbill with blue and white feathers (with indigo tips) and a large golden and red beak. His tail feathers are long and straight, each one transitioning from his predominant color to dark blue near the tip. The lighter and darker shades of blue are divided by bands of white. His wings are the same way, starting out light blue before changing first into white and then to dark blue. On the back of his head, two small dark blue feathers curl upward, and a few white feathers on his chest protrude slightly. His underbelly and legs are white, and his feet are dark reddish-orange. He has sky blue eyelids, and his eyebrows are thick, black, and bushy.

    Zazu is a punctual, intellectual hornbill who shows absolute loyalty to Simba. He is proud of his position, and only too happy to help Simba whenever he needs it. He is not afraid to correct or criticize, and always turns to the bright side of things when he can. He is also not afraid to state his opinions and thoughts.

    Zazu can also be empathetic, especially towards Simba's doubts over his position as King and his elephantese. He is frequently looking at the positive side of things, while still remaining blunt.

    In addition to this, Zazu shows signs of bravery, which can even rival those of Bunga's at times. From endangering his own life to save Kion and Bunga from a float of crocodiles to remaining calm for long periods of time whilst surrounded by Janja's Clan, the majordomo uses his intelligence by working out his opponents, and using their own weaknesses against them whilst retaining a calm demeanor.

    Timon is an adult male meerkat, and the best friend of Pumbaa. He is also the adoptive uncle of Simba and Bunga.

    Timon is a skinny pale tannish-brown meerkat with a vaguely triangle-shaped head and cream-colored underbelly and palms. A line of longer fur is present on his chest, and excess fur on his elbows form triangular points. On his head is an orange-red tuft of fur, and this same color covers the back of his head. On his back, he has five short horizontal stripes that are several shades darker than his predominant color. His eyelids, hind paws, and digits are a dark brown, as well as the tips of both his tail and ears. His large, shiny nose is brown as well, though a darker shade than the rest. Unlike a lot of other characters, Timon doesn't have colored pupils - his are black.

    Timon lives a carefree life and follows the motto Hakuna Matata, which means no worries. He is always laid-back and enjoys eating bugs like his best friend Pumbaa. He detests work, preferring to just relax. He is shown to care greatly for his adoptive nephew, Bunga and other adopted nephew Simba. He becomes very upset when either one of them is in danger. Timon is also impatient and doesn't like it when he is not listened to. He becomes panicky in stressful situations.

He has a smoothed-back mane of black hair running alone his head and neck, and a black tail tuft. His nose is light pink, with large, circular nostrils. Two ivory-colored tusks (though they seem white) jut from his upper jaw, and his small eyes have yellow sclerae. Pumbaa's inner ears are dark pink.

    Pumbaa is a jolly, kind, comical, benevolent, fun-loving, happy-go-lucky, and enthusiastic warthog with a deep heart, though he is quick to panic when something goes wrong. He shows deep concern for Bunga when he is told of his future role in the Lion Guard, though soon comes to accept it. Unlike Timon, Pumbaa's intentions are always honorable and thoughtful. However, he is very emotional and expressive, and is also very unhelpful and uncooperative in a difficult situation.

    Jasiri is a young female hyena that resides in the Outlands. She is the leader of her clan, and an ally of the Pride Landers.

    Jasiri is a fairly small and slim spotted hyena, though she displays strength when fighting Janja's clan. She has gray fur that bears a slight purplish tint. Her lower legs and paws are a very dark shade of purple, and her underbelly is a dull pinkish-orange. Her tail is short and bicolored; most of it is deep purple like her paws, but the fur on the very bottom is much paler, the same color as her underbelly. Her eyebrows and ears both match the color of her mane and paws, and her inner ears are dull pink. On each side, she has three round spots, slightly darker than her main coat color, lined up vertically from her shoulder to the joint of her foreleg. Two smaller spots fleck her face on either side, and she has darker stripes along her neck as well as a streak along her spine. Her muzzle is the same color as her spots. She has large, deep blue eyes, encircled by darker fur, and a dark purple mane that is striped with brighter purple. Her mane is long and thick, with a lock in the front leaning toward her nose.

    Jasiri is a friendly and communicative hyena whose personality is the opposite of Janja and his clan. Jasiri understands and respects the Circle of Life, whereas Janja's clan of hyenas only care about themselves. Jasiri even goes so far as to teach Kion himself a few points about the Circle of Life that he previously didn't understand. However, her ties to her species shine through in how often she laughs, and even Kion notes that the world is like a giant game to her. She is very determined, adventurous, courageous, fearless, brave, spunky, vivacious, effervescent, smart, and lively, and she has been described by her voice actor as zany and opinionated. She can be a bit provocative, teasing, and sassy, not to mention confident in her fighting skills, such as when she told Kovu "Any game your brother wants to play, I can play better!" Her bravery is displayed when she takes on Janja's entire clan and the Outsiders. She can act territorial and a bit antisocial, though she appears to only act this way to those she does not trust.

    Whilst Jasiri shows loyalty, her mind is not free of dissuasion. This is shown by how she was eventually led to believe Zira's lies about Kion's true intentions. But when Zira’s lies are revealed, she becomes frustrated with herself for doubting her friend.

    When interacting with cubs, like Wema and Tunu, Jasiri is very caring, playful, and protective.

    Zuri as a sassy, fashionable lioness who is always grooming herself. She is snooty, melodramatic, vain, though sensitive. Zuri's best friend Kiara can be a little skeptical of Zuri's obsessive claw sharpening and pampering, while her other best friend Tiifu tends to support Zuri, even following suit. Zuri has a low pain tolerance and can get upset. Additionally Zuri can be petty and won't hesitate to voice her complaints. However, Zuri is shown to be supportive of Kiara when Kiara becomes the queen of the Pride Lands during Simba and Nala's absence. She is particularly fond of royalty, and loves nothing more than to be in their presence.

    Zuri has an extreme distaste for insects and mud. Despite being a predator, she doesn't like to hunt, preferring others to hunt for her. She has a considerably poor memory. Zuri also grows bored easily.

    Zuri has also displayed a sweet and appreciative side after being saved by Kion. However, she still retains her snobbish character when, in an alternate ending, Kion saved her, but got mud all over her fur. Although Zuri seemed slightly catty when Tiifu was scared of the dark in The Underground Adventure, she also showed her softer side. Like Tiifu, Zuri can be territorial about her best friends such as not liking Tiifu getting comforted by Kion, because she rolled her eyes at her for being afraid.

    Tiifu is a cream colored lioness with a small tuft of fur sticking up from her head. Her ear rims are a light chocolate brown, with scruffy pink inner ears. Her stomach, muzzle, and paws are a pale cream. She has olive green eyes, a maroon nose and three, small, pink speckles on each cheek. The tuft at the end of her tail is brown. On several occasions, Tiifu has been shown to have dark cream stripes on her legs.

    Tiifu is a very sweet and cheerful lioness. She shows great concern for her friends, as shown when her friend Zuri wounds herself and when her other friend Kiara becomes trapped amongst a stampede of gazelles. She is rather curious, going so far as to ask questions, even after being warned against doing so. She admires Kiara and holds Kiara's title as future Queen in high regard.

    Despite Tiifu's sweet nature, like her best friend Zuri, she can be stuck up, oppressive, domineering at times.. She greatly enjoys hunting practice and is very enthusiastic about pleasing Nala, Kiara, or Kion and can be somewhat proprietorial and possessive over her friendship with Kiara. She tends to be laid back in dangerous situations, but can be serious when she needs to be. Additionally, like Zuri, Tiifu also enjoys pampering and looking her best.

    In The Underground Adventure, Tiifu was scared of the dark when being underground, causing her to panic and yet she takes pleasure in being comforted and encouraged by friends. After their adventure, she no longer is afraid of the dark and showed bravery and calmness when helping Thurston.

    Janja is a male hyena and was the leader of a small clan of hyenas that live in the Outlands.

    Janja is a smoky gray spotted hyena with a grayish-beige underbelly. He has large ears that curve to a sharp point, with his left ear bearing a visible notch. His nose, feet, and the upper side of his tail are black. The under side of his tail is a beige color. His muzzle is gray. He also has dark gray spots, one spot forms a gray heart, across his back and a ridge of black fur running along his head and upper neck that juts back in sharp spikes. Janja's eyes are black, with thick eyebrows and a ring of darker gray fur around them. Janta as adult looks exactly same, only he looks slightly taller.

    Initially, Janja was a cruel, greedy, arrogant and villainous hyena who had no interest in following the Circle of Life. He was always ordering others around to do his work for him. Janja did frequently refer to the other members of his clan as "fur-brains", which is shown to be both endearing and insulting depending on the circumstance. He mocked them frequently, but did not like being laughed at himself. He was ruthless and determined to eat as much food as he could.

    Janja's intelligence is undeniable. He is a devious and manipulative planner who is always hatching new plots to defeat the Lion Guard or take over the Pride Lands. He is notably the only hyena in his clan who uses cunning to obtain what he wants. True to his name, Janja is very crafty and sly, though he sometimes has difficulty grasping simple concepts and tends to overlook certain details. Janja also has a sense of humor and a fondness of witticism; he will occasionally make jokes and clever remarks. Janja's brilliance is undeniable. He is an exploitative and devious planner who is always hatching new plots to bring down the Lion Guard or take over the Pride Lands. Janja is notably the only hyena in his clan who uses cunning to obtain what he wants.

    Despite his ferocity and sharp intellect, Janja is somewhat of a coward, usually only choosing to fight when the odds are in his favor (when his clan has an advantage in numbers). He is also something of a sore loser in the face of defeat. Protective of his territory, he does not tolerate intruders and will attack those who invade his land. As shown in many episodes, Janja harbors a deep hatred for the Lion Guard, especially Kion and his Roar. He also has a strong dislike and disdain for jackals, believing them to be "annoying" and regarding their intelligence as inferior to that of his own species.

    Janja has been shown to have deep admiration and respect for Scar.

He is quite skinny, with a long, spiky black mane that reaches his shoulders and spotted gray fur. Three strands on his mane stick upward and then curl forward above his head, and he has fewer spots than either Janja or Chungu. His muzzle and spots are dark- gray, and his paws are black. His tongue is usually sticking out of his mouth unless he is talking or singing, and he has long canine teeth. His tail is thin and scruffy.

    Cheezi is a nervous and shy hyena. He looks crazier than he really is. He usually laughs at regular times, and it is common to see him with his tongue out. He has a strong friendship with Chungu and Janja. He is the least aggressive but yet not very smart, and depends on the other hyenas to make decisions or execute Janja's orders well. He is very enthusiastic about fights, even though he hesitates and tries to win them. Despite that, he is quite cute, friendly, affectionate towards the other members of his clan.

    Cheezi also shows disappointment when he at first believes that they won't be fighting, and again when his leader makes a hasty retreat. However, he is very hesitant to meet up with the Lion Guard, and often chooses to be cautious around them. If given the chance, Cheezi will gladly follow their rules, so long as he gets something out of the deal.

    Chungu is a large grey spotted hyena with a notch in his right ear, and two notches in his left. His ears are round and smooth at the tips, instead of being pointed like Janja's. He is the largest and most well-built hyena in the series, sporting a thick neck and a large, round jaw. The fur of his cheeks is long and curves upward. He has a long, thick black mane, black lower forelegs, black paws, a large black nose, and a creamy gray underbelly that is cleft below his neck. His eyes are black with light yellow sclerae. They are encircled by blue fur, and two patches of dark gray fur cover the areas around them.

    Chungu has a rather tough attitude, though like the other hyenas, he is very submissive to the clan leader. He often whines around and complains about not getting enough food, and like the rest of Janja's clan, he does not respect the Circle of Life. Chungu isn't very bright, and seems to rely on Janja to make decisions for him. He also appears to have a poor memory. Also, Chungu is shown to be much more confident than Cheezi, but not brave as Janja. And he has an appreciation for his leader's jokes, and often chuckles. He has also been shown to be somewhat oblivious to the fact that the Lion Guard does not like Janja's clan at all.

    Zira was a lioness in The Lion Guard. She is Nuka, Vitani and Kovu's mother and the former leader of the Outsiders, who all lived in the Outlands.

    Zira has a dark coloration, a trait shared by all the Outsiders. Her fur is grayish-tan, with a cream muzzle, underbelly, and paws. She has red eyes, black eyebrows, dark brown upper eye shades and eyelids, a pointed triangular nose, one notched ear, and a dark stripe down the center of her head. Like Scar and all the Outsiders, Zira never retracts her claws.

    Zira was sneaky and devious, feigning hospitality on numerous occasions in an attempt to get someone to side with her. She was set in her beliefs and cannot be swayed. Zira also loathed hyenas. Additionally, she believed that lions should rule with an iron fist, as opposed to being benevolent to all living creatures. She did not have much respect for the Circle of Life. She could be violent and even ruthless enough to kill a cub, if it didn't do her bidding. She was also very manipulative, as shown as she successfully tricked Jasiri into believing that Kion has joined her pride, and displayed a vaguely reasonable demeanor to Kion before she revealed her truly vicious and wicked self in vengeful response to Kion's statement that Scar was never the rightful King. Also, she seems to be somewhat faint-hearted and timid, as she once begged Kion not to use the Roar of the Elders against her and the Outsiders by reminding him that they are his kind, only for an aggravated Kion to use it anyway to drive Zira and her clan away into a termite mound.

    Reirei is a fairly slender jackal, with tan fur which is lighter than her mate Goigoi and black markings across her back and legs as well as on the top of her head. Her underbelly, muzzle and feet are beige, her nose is black, and her eyes are green. Her chest is marked with several paler spots. She has a bushy tail with a black tip and a pair of large, pointed ears with small tufts of fur at their tips.

    Reirei has been described as "scheming". She is cunning and devious, and has a knack for faking pleasantry and kindness, a skill that she teaches to her pups. Reirei takes pride in the craftiness of her kind, believing them to be smarter than other animals. She likes stealing from animals that she has gained trust in, and then insists that it was all a misunderstanding. Reirei is greedy, grasping, acquisitive, materialistic, and covetous, so she has no respect for the Circle of Life or Kupatana. However, she falters in the face of defeat, and will surrender if she sees no other options. She is also very wary of the Lion Guard and will not make any attempt to subdue them, and instead surrenders immediately.

    Despite her scheming ways Reirei is also grateful to those who help her. She also cares about her family and respects them. Reirei is also known to underestimate her opponents.

32. #32Goigoi

    Goigoi is an adult male jackal who lives in the Outlands. He is the mate of Reirei, and the father of several jackal pups such as Dogo.

    Goigoi is a jackal with dark tan fur in a darker shade than his mate's. His back and tail tip are black, with four pale white spots near his shoulder. He has a bushy tail that is very skinny at the base. The fur along his back is long and scruffy, and his cheeks are distinctively rounder than Reirei's. His muzzle is long, thicker towards his nose, with a few teeth protruding from his lower lip. Goigoi's ears are both clipped, one of them having a small hole near the top, and his nose is dark brown. He has bushy black eyebrows, and several strands of fur stick up atop his head and hang down on his lower jaw. Three deep brown speckles are present on each side of his nose.

    Goigoi is lazy, greedy for food and fairly dim-witted. He has the same devious nature as Reirei, but he is a follower rather than a leader. He is very submissive to her, never questioning her actions. He also loves to sleep, and is not pleased when he is disturbed from his rest. He is more afraid of his mate than he is of the Lion Guard, but this does not stop him passing on the blame to Reirei at times in order to avoid punishment from the Guard. He isn't the master of deception that Reirei is, and sometimes slips up when attempting to trick others.

    According to his mate, whilst not very smart, he is sweet and kind toward his kids, offering to be the bait in order to help them practice their hunting skills. Despite his lack of intellect, he prides himself in making Reirei proud.

    Goigoi has shown on multiple occasions that he is able to sleep comfortably in almost any setting.

33. #33Dogo

    Dogo is a creamy brown jackal pup with a beige underbelly and muzzle and light brown paws. He bears three darker spots on either shoulder, and his back, tail tip, and the top of his head are black in color. Dogo's eyes are a distinctive dark blue. The fur on the top of his head and his cheeks are scruffy, and his tail is bushy, like a fox.

    Although cherubic at first glance, Dogo is a scheming jackal pup who is fully capable of performing acts against the Circle of Life.

    Dogo enjoys pleasing his mother, Reirei. He appears to have taken after her when it comes to feigning pleasantness, and is quite proud of doing so. He is able to conjure up lies quickly and on the spot, manipulating all those around him when necessary.

    Despite the trust he has for his mother, he does show concern when she is adamant that they'll be eating, questioning her confidence. He is a very obedient and loyal son, who stands up for his mother even when she is wrong.

    Though it’s not truly clear about it could be possible that Dogo wanted to live in the Pride lands with his family as he just wanted to make his mother pleased. Though it is belived it was very much of his mother's idea that living in Pride lands they can eat as much as they pleased.

    Kijana is a young female jackal that lives in the Outlands. She is the daughter of Reirei and Goigoi, and the sister of Dogo and their Siblings.

    Kijana is a small jackal pup, around the same size as her brother. Like him, she is a tan jackal pup with a beige underbelly, muzzle, and paws. Her back, bushy tail tip, and the top of her head are black in color. A large tuft of very dark navy fur flows over her forehead. Her eyes are teal and her round nose is dark brown.

    Much like her mother, Kijana is manipulative, ruthless, and devious. When she collaborates with her brother, Dogo, she is able to conjure up effective schemes with relative ease. However, in spite of this, she is also very cautious and aware of her surroundings, frequently questioning her mother in the presence of any Lion Guard members that could interfere with her own attacks. She is also a keen listener, and she is also very observant.

    Dogo's siblings are numerous young Jackals pups that live in the Outlands. They are the sons and daughters of Reirei and Goigoi, and the brothers of Dogo, Kijana, Male Jackal, Male Jackal 2 and the sister of Female Jackal.

    Dogo's siblings are identical in appearance. They are creamy brown jackal pups with a beige underbelly and muzzle and light brown paws. Their, backs, tail tips and the top of their heads are black in color. Their eyes are black.

    Despite appearing innocent, they are in fact crafty and very much take after their mother, Reirei. They are sneaky enough to feign their innocence at her demand, and will gladly cause a riot if commanded to by their mother.

    The Pride Lands is a large territory. It is home to a large variety of animals, most notably the lion pride. Its inhabitants are known as Pride Landers.

    The Pride Lands have always been ruled from one ruler to the next with Pride Rock as the center core of the land. This kingdom extends for miles, as everything the light touches is their kingdom, with one exception being the Outlands and the Elephant Graveyard.

    The Outlands is once a forbidden area outside the Pride Lands. Its inhabitants are known as Outlanders.

    The Outlands are a stony network of canyons, gorges, and caverns. The light usually appears to be very dim, likely because of the ashy gray clouds blanketing the sky. The skeletons of other unfortunate animals can be seen. Deep within the Outlands is a now-dormant volcano with darker and more desolate surroundings, including withered trees.

    Due to the lack of food, water, and atmosphere, several animals have resorted to gluttony, occasionally attempting to invade the Pride Lands, or attack a Pride Lander. However that all ended when Jasiri the hyena took over the Outlanders, which had began a new era of peace between both territories.

38. #38Royal Mjuzi

    Royal Mjuzi is the title given to the knowledge-keeper of the Pride Lands and at the Tree of Life. They also act as an advisor to the Royal family.

    Apprentices are chosen by the Great Lions at the time of their birth. However, they do not begin their training until they are old enough, which is judged by the stripes on their face and the color of their nose. An apprentice must also be formally introduced to the royal family.

    Some of the duties of a Royal Mjuzi are:
