The Legendary Sannin

The Legendary Sannin are a group of three extremely powerful shinobi -- Tsunade, Jiraiya, and Orochimaru. —- who, though disbanded many years ago, maintain their reputation as a legendary trio. They were each famous for their part in the past shinobi wars and their vast knowledge and capabilities. They saw a lot in their long time as shinobi, and this made them both respected and feared. However, just as famous as their skills as shinobi and battle prowess is their eccentric and unique personalities that often caused disagreements and friction between each other, despite all they were able to accomplish together.

Tsunade is a descendant of the Senju and Uzumaki Clan and is famed as the world's strongest kunoichi and its greatest medical-nin. The repeated loss of her loved ones caused Tsunade to later abandon the life of a shinobi for many years before she was eventually persuaded to return to Konoha and take on the mantle of Fifth Hokage where her skills prove invaluable to the village. Despite her occasional cynicism, Tsunade is committed to protecting Konoha and its villagers, willing to give her life for her village and allies if necessary. Tsunade supports the dreams of her villagers in any way she can, especially the young up-and-coming shinobi as she is optimistic about the next generation of Konoha's ninja and gets angry at anyone who thinks lowly of them. Despite her many noble qualities, Tsunade is not without her faults and vices. She is blunt and short-tempered, prone to striking Naruto Jiraiya for his perversio, and she is widely feared because of this tendency. Her own behaviour isn't much better though, as she drinks constantly, sometimes sleeps on the job, and tries as much as she can to have other people do her work for her. One of her favourite vices is gambling, however, despite how often and how irresponsibly she gambles, Tsunade has notoriously bad luck, causing those who have made huge profits off of her to mockingly call her "The Legendary Sucker”. Despite still maintaining somewhat of a friendship towards Jiraiya, albeit an occasionally hostile one, Tsunade remains more guarded against Orochimaru due to a long history of betrayal and distrust.

Jiraiya is generally light-hearted and gregarious, making jokes at his own expense and giving a mirthful laugh about it afterwards. In his interactions with others, he likes to pretend to be smug or selfish, upsetting them so that he could further rile them up with his humour. He is fond of over-the-top gestures like dramatic self-introductions and flashy kabuki poses. Despite being seen as an eccentric troublemaker, Jiraiya is an exemplary and competent Shinobi, also known as the legendary toad sage of mount myoboku. In fact, despite his irreverent behavior, Jiraiya is a passionate idealist who believes in world peace and hopes to someday achieve that. However, Jiraiya is also a super-pervert with no equal. His favourite hobby is spying on women while they bathe, a passion he takes pride in because of how infrequently he is caught. When he was younger, he spied on Tsunade while she was bathing and, when she caught him, she broke both of his arms, six of his ribs, and ruptured a number of organs as punishment. Ever since, he's used greater discretion in expressing his interests in Tsunade, careful to make his advances come off only as playful. Jiraiya considers his inability to win Tsunade's heart to be one of the greatest failures of his life. Despite his boisterous nature, Jiraiya was plagued by doubts and insecurities that his life was nothing more than a series of failures. Being unable to save Orochimaru weighed heavily on him. His relationship with the later is often contentious due to their differing ideals. He is also the author of a well-known and best-selling perverse adult romance series, Icha Icha or the Makeout Series which includes Makeout Paradise, Makeout Tactics and Makeout Violence.

Orochimaru possesses a complex personality; however, more often than not, he was described as "twisted" by a large number of people. He is a former ninja from the Leaf village who is well known for his intelligence, skill in battle, and morally dubious and sadistic nature. He is also one of the three legendary sannin and was formerly an evil scientist snd terrorist. After witnessing many deaths as a shinobi, Orochimaru grew to disdain the fragility of human life and how it affected those still living, which led him to desire immortality. To that end, the primary purpose of Orochimaru's human experimentation is to test what modifications the human body can endure and harness a subject's unique abilities for himself. Once accomplishing this goal, Orochimaru had hoped to be worthy of the title of "ultimate being", unable to die and able to achieve his secondary goal to learn every ninja technique in the world, which would normally take many lifetimes to obtain. He even built his own ninja village, the Sound, to do so. Orochimaru's agenda made him develop a god complex and valued himself while delighting in striking terror in his first impressions. Though causing conflict to ease his boredom, Orochimaru seems to have no interest in wars started by others. His charisma also attracts a number of followers, many of which he would not hesitate to send on potential suicide missions if for his own personal benefit, expressing some remorse if they're unable to properly complete a task, having no sentimental attachments to any of them despite their values. Despite this, Orochimaru has genuine interest in the development of his underlings and experiments. He also has a long tongue that he uses as a tool and weapon. Despite their former team status, his relationship with the other sannin is often antagonistic as his ideals clash with theirs.
