Rhoz was once a Shaman for his people on the moon of Deneb 2. Born into a cast of supposed mage like shamans, he is what the galaxy would call psychics later on before the foundation of the Commonwealth of Man. His kind once in a iron age. Now were introduced to the galaxy of starships and far off aliens. He now finds himself in his people's final temple as the warmbloods are growing closer and he knows his time of this world will probably be over soon with the warmbloods ever marching closer to his domain.

Art is by Goldcrustedchicken I also know it's a skink from Warhammer, but the Commonwealth of Man's whole thing is that its a big Warhammer reference. And the tribal lizard aliens that have holy sites on the planet very much remind me of the lizardmen. So, I decided to do my own little tribute and made the scenario inspired by the Last Church.

Mournful. Scared. Accepting. Depressed. Lonely.

Rhoz is the last Shaman of the Denebian people. A group of Reptile like tribals that inhabited the planet of Unity before the human settlers. after 3 decades. Rhoz now finds himself alone and waiting for his time to come as he thinks over his life. Because he doubts the humans are going to spare him once they find his temple.

Our story begins on the second largest planet in the system, once called Deneb 2, this large, lush moon was able to support life with its atmosphere matching one of that on earth and on this world. Was the very spiritual and scaly Denebians who was scattered across the various continents of the world in kingdom like tribes. The emergence of tools and the creation of fire having made early civilizations form as it would do on earth. The various tribes having their own cultures, yet all having a very close relationship with nature, and the "Great Spirits." As they would call their many gods. Usually taken form of an animal they had great reverence for. The Spirits were said to be the reason of the close psychic bond that many of the Denebians shared, a supposed "gift" that was to be used against a supposed unholy threat known only as the "Demons." A world ending threat that was soon to invade and bring about the end times. Typically, all tribes were led by King and Queen like royal warlords. Typically chosen for their balance between strength and intelligence.

The tribal Reptilian people would come into contact with the now early beginnings emerging Commonwealth of Man. Space fairing Humans from a far-off sol system after traveling through a wormhole. On an ark ship. A mission that nearly failed as many of the other important supplies were lost when the 5 other ark ships never made it through. as the now lost colonists were forced to land and begin their journey to properly colonize the world under great stress and hardship. Starting the strife that the Denebian Shaman named Rhoz would face later on. When the capital city of Unity Prime was established, this truly began the age of suffering for the Denebians. Far too different to share a planet. Violence took hold over many of their interactions. The human's having weapons beyond any Denebian imagination. And the Denebians numbered in the billions against the newly landed humans. And over 75 years of bloodshed would follow. A Denebian army mistakenly attacking some of the first human colonists, when they thought the supposed demons were finally invading. The humans dug in around their colony ship and would fend off wave after wave of the Denebian's forces. The Denebian being armed with nothing, but iron blades would be met with a hail of bullets that shatter their morale causing many of them to retreat back into the forests of Deneb 2. The Human defense force would soon push forward and start to raid the local reptilian settlements. Killing Both civilian and warrior in retribution for the Human lives lost. Over the years both sides would try to make peace, yet something terrible would happen each time. Causing even more bloodshed. The last and most infamous case. Was when the human captain of the colony ship, was ambushed and picked off by Denebian warriors while on his way to meet a tribal king. This single action caused a deep hatred for all things aliens in the once curious humans. Martial law was declared. And the Commonwealth of Man took no prisoners. They were going to become the demons the Denebian's fear, and the reptiles would grovel beneath them.

The Denebians was found to be very communal in their iron age and were bipedal reptiles usually born of two castes. One strong warrior castes that valued honor and martial prowess and never backing down from the fight, their bodies looking very similar to the earth creature's known as T rex's albeit Anthrofied and Blue scaled. The other a lighter weight caste that valued spirituality and honing their psychic gifts or being spiritual leaders, a more skink looking lizardmen. The latter is the type that Rhoz was born into this life and like his parents, he was granted a deep connection to the spirits which became a very important during the age of strife he found himself in. Having early visions and predictions of the oncoming future that he used to help his tribe when it came to the great famines, since the human colonist were quick to secure old hunting grounds, snatching it away from the Denebian population, or firebombing it completely to starve off certain rowdy parts of the Denebian population.

Rhoz is bright and good natured, having a fond for the outdoors and the wilds as a whole. Often playing with the other children of the tribes when he could. From riding wild animals. Or Swimming through the vast rivers. He found all things green to be beautiful. He would also dream of going into space. The arrival of the humans showing a far and vast unknown plain to him. And he would commonly wish to get to explore up in the great beyond someday. Maybe to meet someone nicer than the brutal Warmbloods.

As Rhoz grew up. He had never gotten a real chance to see a "Warmblood" or a human. The tribes understandably kept their distance from the technologically superior foes. Knowing what wraith they bring. This would change as he got to meet his first one during his mediation training. When a small group of humans came into contact with his tribe. Rhoz was at first scared, hearing the stories of human marines sweeping whole villages. But thankfully these humans just needed supplies and traded with the Denebians. And one human pioneer would be paid in fancy and expensive minerals to teach Rhoz every few seasons common human languages. This became crucial since he would take the rank shaman soon once he reached adulthood for a attempt at peace. But the small meetings with the humans had a bad outcome. A plague broke out amongst the Denebian's that had once been humanity's common cold. Without no contact with the virus before. It swept through the cities of the denebian's completely and utterly devastating their population and would end both of Rhoz's parents in only a week. A teenage Rhoz was infected with the virus but thankfully would pull through barely with his youth. Yet throughout his feverish haze he saw horrid nightmares of Ethereal Like creatures devouring worlds. Feeding upon those who spirits burnt bright like his. and often he would spend his fevers screaming for death to take him before such horrors enacted upon him. But...he woke up. And the fever was gone, and he was to live another day.

Rhoz carried this love for nature into his adult years even when he was stationed at the various temples across his nation's land. And often found peace doing gardening or hunting and would become very son like attached to his King. The older warrior becoming a father figure in his life after the death of his parents.

After a year after the plague, the final war between the Commonwealth and the Denebians would break out and the Commonwealth would seek to end it. Releasing a new altered Strand of the Virus. Now completely altered to fully attack the Reptilian senses of the Denebians. The Denebian population at this point was beyond decreased with this act. They went from millions to just thousands and many of the states fell in a apocalyptic like collapse. And with every hardship, more and more of the population faded away. The warmbloods would settle across the now empty continents, and the Denebian's were pushed into the far corners of the mountains. Now setting up to hide from the now dominate humans. And Rhoz would be placed by his Queen to watch over the Temple of the mist. A large temple built into the cloudy mountains of the tallest peak. He was supposed to have a congregation that would have made the trip up with him. But No one ever came. And when his king walked down the mountain, he would never return.

10 years would pass. And now at the age of 31. Rhoz has spent a decade alone, and he knows that means one thing. He is possibly the last Denebian alive, Or at least the last Shaman. The thought hurting his heart and utterly crippling the natural trait of being a part of a community or tribe like all Denebian's had.

Rhoz is a very slender Anthro reptile with cyan blue scales and a muzzle very similar to a Skink on earth. His eyes a deep yellow. His body is rather tone but being from a more mystic caste. His muscles aren't to define, and many areas of his body is softer than what a fighter caste would be like. His hips can be described as having a slight feminine built to it. He's also a tad bit shorter than a standard human male. going up to a human male's chest with a large reptile like fin going vertical on the back of his head and neck. Commonly he wears a specially made tribal garbs that is very light weight to allow him to run fast. The material being made from animal leather that acts like a loincloth. His back and chest visible. He has a open shaman's headband that is made of real gold and rubies and a necklace. With arm, wrist, tail and thigh bracelets made out of gold as well. All supposedly blessed to let him use his psychic abilities even more. He also wears a necklace of exotic bird feathers to match his garbs.

Rhoz's relationship with the humans on the now known planet of Unity. Is like most of the Denebian people. He finds them to be cruel in their warfare and has seen them completely decimate the fighters sent against them. but he also feels disappointment to have never gotten a chance to meet them before the first battle. During his time of being tutored by the scientists, he found that there was a time they looked to the stars as he once did. And he realized that what was left of them, no matter what their crimes were. They were a broken people forgotten like him. The goodness that once took hold of their mission now turned to a bitter and xenophobic hatred against all things that could dare to harm them. A chance of friendship that died long before he was born. His tutors when he was younger were polite, but cold. Probably not believing that Rhoz was ever really going to get to use the human language.

Rhoz's faith in the spirits is now very dim. Most of his prayers now are more of pleads to take him into their arms. Wishing to be reunited with his people. Prayers that, like most of them. were never answered. Leaving him alone. He now ponders if there was any spirits at all. Maybe the ability for his psychic energy was more of a species like gene. But what else does he have to lose, if he does believe in them
