Sienna Contiello, better known as Squigly, was the last surviving member of the Contiello family, a famous lineage of opera singers and longtime associates of the Medici family. Fourteen years before the events of Skullgirls, her family was betrayed by the Medici Mafia. Black Dahlia was sent to assassinate Sienna and her parents, leaving the entire Contiello family dead.

Desperate to bring her family back, Sienna's mother, Selene Contiello, used the Skull Heart and became the Skullgirl. Her wish resurrected the Contiello family as undead beings, including Sienna. However, Sienna retained her own consciousness because her father, Roberto, arranged for Leviathan, the family's ancient parasite, to bond with her. Their connection allowed Sienna to remain herself rather than becoming a mindless servant of the Skullgirl.

After confronting her resurrected family at Medici Tower alongside Annie, Big Band, Panzerfaust and Deep Violet, Sienna reluctantly helped defeat her mother. Once Selene was defeated, Sienna and Leviathan seemingly died again. Big Band and Panzerfaust kept her actions secret. During the Contiello funeral, Lorenzo Medici attempted to conceal the family's murder by having Sienna's mouth sewn shut.

Fourteen years later, the emergence of Bloody Marie awakened Sienna from her long sleep. Although she was once again surrounded by the undead forces of a Skullgirl, Leviathan protected her mind and allowed her to retain her personality. Upon awakening, Sienna discovered that her mouth had been sewn shut and realized that the Medici were responsible. Determined to confront Lorenzo and uncover the truth, she began pursuing him through New Meridian.

During her journey, Squigly encountered Parasoul and the Black Egrets, who mistook her for one of Marie's mindless undead servants. She eventually fought alongside Filia against Double, despite initially distrusting Filia because of her connection to the Medici family. Rather than judging Filia solely by her origins, Sienna chose to judge her by her actions.

Squigly eventually discovered the truth behind her family's tragedy: Double had manipulated Selene into obtaining the Skull Heart, creating the circumstances that led to her transformation into a Skullgirl and the destruction of the Contiello family. After confronting Double, Sienna destroyed both her and the Skull Heart, finally ending the chain of events that had haunted her family for years.

In this alternate version of her story, however, Sienna does not return to her final death after destroying the Skull Heart. Instead, she survives alongside Leviathan and is finally free from the influence of the Skull Heart and the Medici. With her family's tragedy behind her, she begins building a new life, determined to experience the ordinary existence that was taken from her fourteen years earlier.

She remains elegant, calm and well-mannered, but carries the strength and determination developed through her unusual existence. Her bond with Leviathan remains central to her life, with the two continuing to function almost as a single pair after generations of their families being connected.
