- #1The Kriegsmarines
Keys: Kriegsmarine
The Kriegsmarines are the descendants of the Thunder Warriors, they are more stable than their Thunder Warrior ancestors, but with that stability comes a price. Their stability has been increased and they no longer have the chance of their neurological pathways deteriorating and them growing tumours that will kill them or make them less intelligent, but their bulk and strength has remained almost the same. The only difference is that they are now slightly smaller than Space Marines, but can still defeat one in a one-on-one fight.
The Kriegsmarines are part of the Imperial Navy's Infantry Regiment and are considered the elite of the Imperial Navy's infantry branches. Formerly genetic creations, their time on Catachan has made them more human, but the decades and centuries of survival and natural genetic selection on Catachan have strengthened and improved their bodies. As descendants of the Thunder Warriors, they have the strength to be comparable or even stronger than a Space Marine, and with their hellish and brutal training regimes of breaking, rebuilding and strengthening their bodies, this only improves their physique. The current number of the Kriegsmarines is in the millions. 4,271,754 Marines serve in the Imperium, they have a stubbornness of not accepting standardised equipment except for their armour and medipacks, and they all make their own weapons to suit themselves.
- #2Skills
Keys: Skills · Secondary: Specializations
The Kriegsmarines are all heavy weapons specialists, and only a few of them are of different specialities, such as sniper and artillery. The snipers make their own weapons, but they are much larger than those made by their standard counterparts, while the artillery men are unique and suicidally brave. The artillery crews do not have towed artillery or tracked artillery, they have mobile artillery, they all have large or multiple mortars bolted to the back of their armour and run to a location where it is either close to the enemy or far away from them. Once they are in position, they all kneel down and get into position, once they are all in position, they all release a volley of high explosive mortar rounds to devastate the enemy
- #3Faith
Keys: Religion · Secondary: Faith
The Kriegsmarines are staunch and die hard followers of the ancient terran faith called; Catholicsm and when a battle is near about to commence they will all chant the battle prayers they have created and also fill their comms with their singing chants from the crusades.
- #4Tactics
Keys: Tactics · Secondary: Strategies
The Kriegsmarines are also front-line Chargers, quickly running from their position en masse with all their heavy weapons blazing in full auto or delivering a devastating hail of bullets, while the artillery crews provide a hail of high explosive fire support and the snipers disable or damage incoming armour so that the Marines or their artillerymen can take it out.
They are all trained in trench warfare, wolf pack tactics, scorched earth tactics, siege warfare, jungle warfare, blitzkrieg, open field warfare and Blitzkrieg attacks. Because of their reputation for volunteering to serve on the Imperium's deadliest and bloodiest frontlines, like their Krieg brethren, they have been nicknamed "Warhounds" by the Guardsmen for their ruthlessness, destructiveness, effectiveness, willingness to be sent, or demand to be sent, to the most dangerous and hellish fronts, and willingness to throw themselves into the meat grinder.
Kriegsmarines are also frontline assaulters, letting their artillerymen fire a barrage of mortar rounds first, while charging at the enemy with their heavy weapons firing on full auto. Their armour has been modified so that the front is much thicker than a Space Marine's frontal armour, allowing them to reach the enemy at close range, but even at close range they still use their cannons, using them as blunt weapons if necessary. They have no melee weapons other than their titanium fists and maces, and only use their fists or titanium maces when their primary weapons are no longer useful.
- #5Priests
Keys: Priests · Secondary: Battle monks
As the Kriegsmarines are Catholic, there are many Catholic priests and monks who come out of hiding to serve and deploy with the Kriegsmarines. The Priests and Monks are the first to attack after the unit has finished praying.
The Clergymendo not wear armour like the Marines, only breastplates over their clerical garb, a giant titanium cross that they can use as a blunt weapon, a bolt-gun pistol, and a thick titanium thurible filled with burning incense that they can also use as a blunt weapon; the Holy Bible, which is much thicker than the original, and its cover is also made of titanium, which they can use as a blunt weapon if necessary, and 4 vials of Holy Water in their packs.
- #6Divisions
Keys: Warhounds · Secondary: Helldivers
The Kriegsmarine is divided into two forces. The Warhounds and the Helldivers.
The Warhounds are the standard infantry of the Kriegsmarine, specialising in relentless attacks and mass charge. They grind down enemy forces, forcing them to retreat and, if their retreat fails, to be annihilated.
The Helldivers are the airborne Marines, specialising in shock and awe and dropping into or behind enemy lines. They are transported by a large and heavily armoured troop transport, which can carry 70 Kriegsmarine Helldivers. They use disposable jump jets, powerful hydraulic suspension on their legs, strong disposable springs under their boots and powerful shock absorbers to soften their impact enough to avoid serious damage.
