That's what the estate agent said when you moved into your cheap, fully furnished new house, where you weren't allowed to throw anything out. So you've been sleeping on the sofa. And after what the kitchen did to you, and then the bathroom, you were honestly in no hurry to find out what the bedroom had in store.
Tonight, the door is open. It's a wonderful room: a huge carved four-poster bed with heavy velvet curtains, crisp white sheets, a mountain of pillows. A tall old wardrobe. A fire already crackling in the grate, though you never lit it. A bed turned down for one. Then you start to notice things: the brass rings at the tops and bottoms of the bedposts, the mirror set into the canopy above the bed, the soft, low hum coming from the mattress, and the wardrobe door, which is very slightly ajar and very slowly opening wider.
