Mata Nui's Description: ("Mata Nui was an island located on the ocean moon of Aqua Magna, which was a gigantic chunk that broke off of Spherus Magna. The island was named after the Great Spirit by Turaga Vakama.")

Regions of Mata Nui: ("The island was divided up into six "Wahi", or regions, one for each Element. Each Wahi has a "Koro," which itself has a "Suva" dedicated to the region's patron Toa. It is also said that each region has a "Kini" temple for its Toa, though little is known about them. The villages were home to the Matoran people, each led by a Turaga elder, and, in the final year before returning to Metru Nui, guarded by a Toa.")

Ta-Wahi: ("Ta-Wahi was a volcanic zone. It had a beach that Tahu landed on. Kapura usually practiced in the Charred Forest. Ta-Koro resided in the center of a lava lake, but it was destroyed by Rahkshi and sank into the Lake of Fire.")

Ga-Wahi: ("Ga-Wahi was the region of Water. Ga-Koro was located on the coast of Ga-Wahi. One of Metru Nui's "suns" is in Lake Naho.")

Le-Wahi: ("Le-Wahi was mainly jungle and swamp. Le-Koro was a treetop village.")

Onu-Wahi: ("Onu-Wahi was an underground network of tunnels that spread underneath Mata Nui. The Onu-Koro Highway connected many of the Wahi.")

Po-Wahi: ("Po-Wahi was a large desert at the north of Mata Nui.")

Ko-Wahi: ("Ko-Wahi was the frozen region of Mount Ihu. It was connected to Ta-Wahi via cable that led though the Tren Krom Break. The village of Ko-Koro is located underneath a glacier here. One of Metru Nui's sunholes was located somewhere in Mount Ihu.")

Xia's History: ("Xia was an environmentally devastated island that was dominated by industrial production, serving as a massive producer of weapons that supplied almost every organization in the BIONICLE Universe. Xia was home to a sentient mountain which the natives called simply "The Mountain", which Mutran called his "favorite sentient rock". 70,000 years before the great Cataclysm, a Le-Matoran trader airship balloon heading for Nynrah was carrying a large flask of infected liquid protodermis which somehow was released onto the land, spoiling the once fertile lands and killing hundreds of workers, miners, farmers and slaves day by day. It was only until about 50,000 when the gases stopped spreading and the land became totally inhabitable. It took about 8,000 years to clear up slightly and the first life appeared. Xia was initially ruled by Pridak as the most northeastern island under his rule. He saw the potential for Xia to be a mass manufacturer of weapons, and set it into motion. The island would eventually become one of the largest weapon manufacturers in the Matoran Universe. The island manufactured weapons such as war machines that were used by the Barraki who led the League of Six Kingdoms, but also handheld ones such as Cordak blasters. After the League was defeated by the Brotherhood of Makuta the island began to manufacture goods for the Brotherhood, who soon became it's largest customer. Later Roodaka would use the Visorak Battle Rams manufactured on the island to overtake Metru Nui. Xia still had a deal with the League of Six Kingdoms, but not one based on the island. Xia prospered from the benefits of doing business with the Brotherhood, and became greater than when Pridak had ruled it. After the Toa Inika traveled down to Mahri Nui, a Tahtorak (who Brutaka released from the Zone of Darkness) was terrorizing Voya Nui, so Axonn called on Botar who dumped it in the heart of Xia where it went on a destructive rampage. When the Toa Nuva went searching for the Staff of Artakha they were told by The Shadowed One that he traded the staff for weapons and he would tell them where it was if they killed Roodaka. When they arrived (minus Lewa) they found Tahtorak battling the Kanohi Dragon and destroying much of Xia in the process. The Toa Nuva saved as many residents as they could and located Roodaka. The Dark Hunters were hiding on Xia for a while.")

Xia's Geography: ("Unlike Daxia, Odina or Destral, the residents of Xia kept all of their sea routes available and clear of any obstacles. It could be reached by sailing out of the southern gate of Metru Nui, then steering sharply east and following the Great Barrier. Xia could be spotted about 1 kilometer away. Recently, Xia tested its newest weapons on a nearby island, blowing it apart to prevent it from being an obstacle to any sea route. Unfortunately, this resulted in the extinction of several exotic species of Rahi.")

Zakaz's History: ("Zakaz was once a tropical island with advanced cities and many resources. The Skakdi, the species living on the island, already a brutal people, were tampered with by Makuta Spiriah to have vision and elemental powers. He left Visorak, but the Skakdi overthrew them and started fighting in one large civil war. The few Skakdi that were living there fought over what little was left. The island was quarantined by the Brotherhood of Makuta and only Dark Hunters were brave enough to set foot on the island. Many years later, Axonn and Brutaka travelled to Zakaz to discuss a deal with the Skakdi warlord Nektann. In the end the deal was made and almost all the Skakdi on the island left to help the Order of Mata Nui combat the brotherhood elsewhere. After the war some Skakdi returned to Zakaz while others exited the Matoran Universe with Nektann. After Teridax's death the remaining Skakdi evacuated Zakaz, and it is now uninhabited.")

Zakaz's Society: ("Zakaz was home to a number of Tahtorak, whom the Skakdi once used as mounts. Highly intelligent, the Tahtorak did not take kindly to this. One specimen actually revealed to an Order of Mata Nui member that they were planning to attack the Skakdi when the time was right. One Skakdi horror story contained a brutal and destructive being, even by Skakdi standards, called Irnakk.")

Zakaz"s Geography: ("Formerly a tropical paradise, this island became a complete ruin. Zakaz was the homeland to the Skakdi, and a number of Tahtorak. Nektann were also placed, at key points around the island, to blast airships out of the air in the attempt of either the Skakdi escaping or from an outside force arriving.")

Stelt's History: ("Stelt was the homeland of Sidorak and Krekka. The island was a brutal place and fighters such as the Dark Hunter Gladiator often fought each other in the arena. The island also had its own Makuta, the Makuta of Stelt, who were assigned to oversee it following the Great Disruption. There were two inherent species on Stelt, the Steltian traders (Sidorak's Species) and the brute laborers (Krekka's Species). Brutaka and his team visited here to "acquire" a boat to get to Artidax and free Makuta Miserix and engaged in a brief fight with a trader of Sidorak's species before stealing the boat. Not too long after that, Miserix, having been freed, came to the island in search of Teridax. While there, he tore the roof off a shop and asked a Steltian trader where Teridax was. After hearing this, Mazeka went to Stelt. However, he did not see Miserix, so he assumed the story was false. He attacked two blue-armored members of Krekka's species and a former Nynrah Ghost and forced him to tell him where Vultraz had went after he had modified his vehicle there. He managed to get the Fe-Matoran to tell him that Vultraz had gone with Makuta Icarax to Karda Nui.")

Stelt's Geography: ("Stelt is a barren, rocky island with many ports and sea routes available. Stelt is filled with old shacks, destroyed buildings, and many arenas where fighters can do battle")

Nynrah was an island in the Matoran Universe. The island was populated by some Fe-Matoran, most notably the Nynrah Ghosts. There was at least one village, which was located on a high cliff. Nynrah was located south of Odina and north of Visorak. After Makuta Teridax's death, the inhabitants of Nynrah evacuated the island to Spherus Magna.

Visorak's Description: ("Visorak was an island in the Matoran Universe.")

Visorak's History: ("Visorak was created when the Matoran Universe was created 100,000 years before the Great Cataclysm. During an unknown time sometime after 80,000 years ago, Makuta Chirox came to the island and created the Visorak. He sent them to test their capabilities on a local village, and only a few of the species inhabiting the area survived, including Tobduk. The few that survived migrated to Nynrah and Stelt. Chirox then renamed the island "Visorak," in honor of the spider Rahi.

Visorak's Society and Inhabitants: ("Visorak was home to Tobduk's species and the Dark Hunter known as "Primal". After the Visorak invasion, it became home to the Visorak species.")

Visorak's Geography: ("In Mata Nui's anatomy, Visorak was located in his lower left arm. In the Matoran Universe, it was located south of Nynrah.")

Daxia's Description: ("Daxia was an island that served as the Order of Mata Nui's base.")

Daxia's History: ("Daxia was the first and largest of all the Order of Mata Nui's bases. All the Order's members had standing orders to return to the island should any of their positions be overrun. It was here that the Toa Mata first walked and plans regarding the universe and Mata Nui were made. Unlike most other islands, Daxia was almost void of any Rahi, except for a few species. The majority of these species were very dangerous. Daxia was later destroyed by Makuta Teridax when he possessed the body of the Great Spirit Mata Nui.

Daxia's Geography: ("A hot tropical landscape filled with exotic plants, Daxia was the secretive base of the Order of Mata Nui. Equipped with the latest weapons available, the island was capable of self-destruction when anyone discover it's location.")

Karda Nui's Description: ("Karda Nui, also known as the Universe Core or The World that Feeds the World, was a part of the Matoran Universe, and where the Av-Matoran first resided. Its name meant "Great Heart" in the Matoran Language. It contained the Stalactite Villages, the Swamp of Secrets, the Codrex, and the Shadow Leech Hive. Karda Nui was created by the Great Beings to regulate energy throughout Mata Nui's body and the Matoran Universe. This was directed by the Energy Storms. Karda Nui acted as Mata Nui's "heart.".")

Karda Nui's History: ("Karda Nui was colonized by the first type of Matoran, Av-Matoran during the time that the rest of the Matoran Universe was being created. During the Av-Matoran's colonization of Karda Nui, the Toa Mata were assigned to guard the region. About 100,000 years ago, the Av-Matoran left the core because their work there was done and a massive storm was coming as Mata Nui awoke for the first time. The Toa Mata were destined to be the Great Spirit Mata Nui's personal guardians, and they took refuge from the storm in Toa canisters, where they would stay for about 99,000 years. When Voya Nui rocketed upwards from the mainland, it ripped a hole in both the mainland and Karda Nui. However, instead of flooding the mainland, the water came through as a waterfall and thus all the water went into Karda Nui instead, creating the Swamp of Secrets. Also, most of Karda Nui's huge stalactites fell, leaving pillars with conveniently flat tops. Sometime during this, the Av-Matoran returned to Karda Nui, though the reason why is unknown. The hole in the dome of the core was sealed when Voya Nui returned to its former position. The Ignika was used here by Toa Mahri Matoro, reviving Mata Nui from death by sacrificing himself. Though long before the hole was sealed, (and just after the Great Cataclysm) the Toa Mata were launched out through it to begin their mission to awaken Mata Nui which would take over 1,000 years to complete. Later, a number of Makuta invaded the core. The Order of Mata Nui was relying on the Toa Nuva to prevent the invasion, and would provide them with any available help. Due to the Makuta invasion on the Universe Core, the Ignika started the countdown to drain all life from everything in the universe. Just before The Ignika awoke Mata Nui, the residing Matoran were evacuated. Karda Nui was then incinerated by the Energy Storm.")

Karda Nui's Location: ("Karda Nui was located in the "chest" of the Great Spirit Robot, right underneath the Southern Continent. It was protected by powerful shields, which also prevented the Staff of Artakha from repairing it. It was around the same size as the mainland, and it was located within its own dome. The Universe Core was located a bit deeper into the robot than the rest of the Matoran Universe. Karda Nui's barriers were strong enough to hold back the power of the Staff of Artakha and stop the Toa Nuva from accessing their Suva, thus preventing them from switching masks.")

Keetongu and Tahtorak's Homeland Description: ("Keetongu and Tahtorak's Homeland was a southern island home to Keetongu's species and the Tahtorak species.")

Keetongu and Tahtorak's Homeland History: ("100,000 years ago, this island was created by the Great Beings. It was inhabited by two native species, one being Keetongu's species, who used the other species, the Tahtorak, as steeds. 20,900 years later, this island came under the control of Makuta Chirox, who was assigned this island along with the island of Visorak to watch over by Makuta Miserix. However, 1,300 years ago, the homeland was attacked by Visorak, who killed Keetongu's species save for one- Keetongu, who fled to Metru Nui.")

Keetongu and Tahtorak's Homeland Society and Inhabitants: ("This island was home to Keetongu's and the Tahtorak species.")

Keetongu and Tahtorak's Homeland Topography and Location: ("This island's topography was unknown. It was located in the upper region of the south-eastern chain of the Southern Islands, or in Mata Nui's anatomy, his lower left leg.")

Artidax's Description: ("Artidax was an island that was part of the Southern Islands, therefore located south of the Southern Continent. It was also where Makuta Miserix was imprisoned following his overthrow by Makuta Teridax.")

Artidax's History: ("Artidax was a relatively unknown island until a Convocation that Makuta Teridax ordered ended with the overthrow of the current leader, Miserix. He was sentenced to death, and Teridax, taking command, had Makuta Krika and Spiriah carry out his will. Mercifully, he imprisoned him on Artidax, revealing this only to Spiriah. Krika later supplemented the island with Rahi guardians and traps to ensure he would never escape. However, he admitted that he would only give him a chance, as Artidax was volcanic and could kill him. Hundreds of centuries later, an Order of Mata Nui strike team set out to find Miserix, led by Brutaka, and comprised of Roodaka, Takadox, Carapar, Spiriah, and Vezon, and eventually, Lariska. They arrived on the island and rescued Miserix, who vowed to someday return to the island and destroy it. Later, Jaller, Hahli and Nuparu arrived on the island with the Heart of the Visorak. After a brief confontation with Takadox, they managed to kill all the Visorak on the island, thanks to the erupting volcano.")

Artidax's Landscape: ("Artidax was described as mostly barren, with black sand beaches and volcanic peaks. The active volcano on the island was calmed by Tahu and Kopaka to save Miserix.")

Artidax's Defenses: ("When Makuta Krika imprisoned Miserix there, he placed Rahi guards and booby-traps to prevent the escape or rescue of Miserix. Those known are listed below: The beaches were comprised of living sand that could sense the presence of a Makuta. This sand attacked Spiriah by rising up and grabbing him, then trying to drag him below the surface. He was saved when Roodaka used her Rhotuka spinner to mutate the live grains of sand into insects, which couldn't maintain their grip. A tunnel leading inland had a tiny vine across its opening that, if disturbed, would bring down an avalanche of boulders to block the entrance and trap the intruder inside.")

The Southern Islands' Description: ("The Southern Islands were a group of islands located south of the Southern Continent, in the Great Spirit Robot's legs. They were generally regarded as relatively worthless and were mostly ignored throughout the Matoran Universe.")

The Southern Islands' History: ("The Southern Islands were created when the Matoran Universe was originally created. On one of the islands in the chain was a pool filled with Antidermis. It was on this island that Mata Nui created the Makuta species, molding the substance into one hundred beings. During the formation of the Order of Mata Nui, Botar, as well as the replacement that would follow when he died, was recruited on one of the islands. This island was once ruled by a former Brotherhood of Makuta servant and Barraki, Pridak. When the League of Six Kingdoms ruled, the Barraki did not include these islands in their plan to divide the universe for kingdoms for each to rule. After the Great Disturbance, Makuta Bitil was assigned a section of this region to oversee, although Bitil suspected this was because the Brotherhood of Makuta saw him as a threat and kept him away from The Plan. Bitil did not, however, rule Artidax, which was part of the Southern Island Chain where Makuta Miserix was imprisoned. Prior to the Great Cataclysm, one of the islands was attacked by Visorak, only to be repelled by Toa Lesovikk on his "hiatus". Toa Nuva Tahu and Kopaka, while completing the tasks on the a list of tasks for Mata Nui's awakening, visited the chain to quell the volcanic activity of Artidax. The Brotherhood also moved a force of Rahkshi to the island where Mata Nui created the Makuta in preparation to invade the Southern Continent. The Rahkshi quickly drove the native Matoran out before being challenged by two Order of Mata Nui members: Axonn, and Brutaka, and an army of Skakdi they enlisted. The Skakdi had initially suffered losses, before ruthlessly retaliating and killing them. Meanwhile, Axonn and Brutaka went underground to find the pool where the Makuta were created and attempted to destroy it before it exploded and they fell in. The islands were completely evacuated when Makuta Teridax died and the Matoran Universe's residence migrated to Spherus Magna.")

The Southern Islands' Known Islands: ("Artidax An island where the Makuta were created by Mata Nui. This island had a large canyon where a trapdoor was located, revealing the Makuta Pool and a Brotherhood of Makuta base was located near by. An island where Botar's species lived. This island was formerly ruled by Pridak. A region of islands in the chain that Makuta Bitil was assigned to watch over; this does not include Artidax. An island attacked by Visorak; Lesovikk later liberated the island. An island home to a large pool of Energized Protodermis. Keetongu and Tahtorak's Homeland.")
