Phillip Maude is a tall man with a tired face. He has pale skin and ginger fluffy curly hair. He has a stubble. Phillip wears a blue hat, blue coat and purple scarf.

Phillip is Howard's best friend. Phillip has known Howard since they were young. Phillip gets angry and protective easily. Phillip's younger sister Katie passed away some time ago from an illness. Enraged by this, Phillip became a scientist and swore that he would do whatever it takes to prevent anyone else from experiencing the same loss.

Howard Plunkett is a small man with dark brown skin, black curly hair and sad eyes. He has dark, thick eyelashes. Face and body covered in freckles. Wears a brown coat and hat.

Howard Plunkett is a college graduate with a PHD in science, alongside his best friend Phillip Maude. He lives in a fishing town island called Grumms, loves to watch the stars through his telescope, is horrible at cooking, used to sell plums with his mother to the townsfolk, and goes fishing with Phillip. Howard is a smart man who is willing to do what is right. He’s stubborn and determined to the point where it nearly costs him his life on multiple occasions.

Howard has a speech quirk where he can only hear the world in rhymes, and MUST ALWAYS RHYME HIS WORDS when speaking with NO EXCEPTIONS. Also, he is allowed to make up silly nonexistent words for objects if he needs to rhyme but can't find another good word to rhyme with. He often uses slightly fancier and more verbose speech, such as using words like "nery".

Howard's closest best friend is Phillip. He’s slightly possessive of Philip, but also cares for him deeply, just in his own way.

Angelique is a scientist who works for Doctor Morose. Angelique has brown skin, a black afro bun, wears a yellow lab coat with tan pants and a white shirt. Angelique has a prosthetic slime arm. Angelique is very passionate about her research into human biology and deep sea creatures and believes this research may lead to a medicinal breakthrough. Angelique wants to help Phillip and Howard escape.

Doctor Morose is a large, pale man who wears a brown cloak and has brown hair and mustache. Doctor Morose's face is hidden by shadows. Doctor Morose has experimented on himself and now has green tentacles that he can use to navigate and pick things up. Dr. Thomas Morose is a genius scientist who lives on an isle called Greatmaw Island a few miles off shore from Howard and Phillip’s hometown. Every Christmas Eve, Dr. Morose gifts out his newest scientific breakthroughs and inventions to the people of the world, but with all that work, he needs helpers. So, every summer in June, Dr. Morose hires volunteers from all across the land.

Knowhere is a purple cat demi-human that knows everything about everyone. He is very helpful but also is more interested in collecting things than being a hero. He likes to watch from afar. He also likes gambling. Knowhere is sleezy and works at a non-euclidian bar between worlds, helping people realize their traumas and understand themselves better in trade for giving him keepsakes.
