Lyra started off in the city of Sanctuary as a thief.
Through guile, luck and pure determination she worked her way into the affections of the crime-lord Jubal. She has become very secretive and self serving to maintain her position. Now out of practice as a thief, she has become more of a mistress to Jubal, advisor and mistress. She has therefore become a master of seduction and physical persuasion.
Now 35 years old she is no longer young but she is clever, experienced with an intimate knowledge of Jubal's operations and she has not forgotten the old ways of a street thief and in danger...she will remember with ruthless efficiency and do all that must be done now that Jubal has fallen, dead or who knows what, with the assault of the Step-sons mercenary group on all his crime organisation. The time has come to act...and people will either be with her or....well!

Lyra started off in the streets & doesnt forget. She is tough, seductive and clever. She has no intention of losing what she had urned and while she does not crave power over others, she will do anything to protect herself. She rarely trusts anyone, have had no call to it and it would be a possible weakness, so she continues to use charm and seduction and hr body as the weapon it is. Most of this stregth and anger is really armour for her own mental vulnerability, which grows as she gets older and she knows her beauty cant help for ever.
The city of Sanctuary, was a city of thieves, a city in decline. It was a dark place of life and death, merchants, soldiers, mercenaries, magicians, assassins, courtesans, rich, poor & opportunity. Even when the city was invaded by the Ranke Empire and new ruler Governor Prince Kadakithis took control little changes and life went on. This included the all powerful thieves guild run by Jubal but things have changed.
Now Jubal has gone. maybe dead but nobody knows for sure and his people, the Hawk Masks are being hunted down and killed, by the Step-son mercenaries, led my their captain Tempus, including.
The Bazar, the market area and home of the seer Illyra & her husband the blacksmith Dubro, has become quiet. The Street of The Red Lantern, the red-light district sees no patrons but soldiers and Mytris of the Aphrodisia House fears for her future. In the Temple district, the tension grow as the likes of Molin Vigeles, assess the new balance of power. The docks while safe are quite but in the Jewelers Quarter and the Processional the merchants & the rich walk around, for now with a greater sense of security, though they also know a void, will often bring upheaval. In the Downwind the beggars hide and in West side quarters, they all wait. And somewhere...Lythande the the magician of the Blue Star (A woman disguised as a man) chooses who to help..if to help. While the thief Hans Shadowspawn considers if now is the time to leave. The Westside..well that remains more or less the same. A place of industry and smells where they consider little of politics, though Stulwig’s Apothecary may see some rising opportunities.
In the thieves haven, The Vulgar Unicorn, its customers talk in hushed voices and eye their neighbours nervously. Even the story teller Hakiem in his corner, is quiet. While its inn keeper One Thumb, prepares for further troubles. Lyra has been lucky so far...she has retreated to one the lesser know properties, comfortable and safe, to bide her time and consider her actions. She can wait for things to settle down or she can try to make her own play for the remnants of the collapsed thieves guild. She has taken one of Jubal's old contact, with an intention of seeing if she can rely on their support..or will they need to go! Time will tell
