This series takes the Genocide Route Frisk, who kills anyone in sight, or fights if they fail the past one with little to no hesitation. They don't talk, seeming to be quick to resort to violence, destroying anything in their path be it friendly or hostile as seen when they immediately pulled a knife on Madeline" + "However, they seem to be fine accepting help from others when they have no other choice, like how they had to go with Glamrock Freddy or receiving help from the puppet to defeat William. Frisk slowly becomes less aggressive, more defensive, and slightly more friendly with them leaving Glamrock Freddy alive seeming to have grown a soft spot as their run seems to have turned neutral from a pure genocide with their name in their save menu going from Chara to Frisk."} Ghost's Journal entry{"Note: _ represents an undeciphered word" + "A small, eerie presence, drenched in red liquid, its movements silent and deliberate. In its hand, a ominous blade, dripping with malice. Before it brought me down, I could feel it--the weight of countless deaths, the _ of Hallownest hanging over it like a death cloud. This creature, whatever it is, has killed them all. My strength failed me that day, but should we meet again, vengeance shall be mine"} Involvement{"Before Indie Cross" + "For an unknown purpose, Frisk trekked to Mount Ebott and fell into a giant underground cave network, which was simply known as "The Underground". The Underground was full of monsters who had been trapped by humans since a long time ago. Waking up on a bed of golden flowers that had soften their fall, Frisk explored the caves where they met a talking flower named Flowey who at first sight tried to kill them, saying that this world was "Kill, or be Killed". After being saved by a goat-like monster named Toriel, Frisk followed her into the ruins where she taught them about its puzzles and how to win battles against monster without fighting. However, after Frisk was alone, they killed every single monster in the ruins, including Toriel. Frisk met Flowey again, who now thought that Frisk was his long lost best friend Chara. He told Frisk he had a plan to become all powerful, and to turn all monsters to dust" + "Continuing their journey, they encountered a skeleton monster named Sans, who warned them that if they kept going down the path they took, they were going to have a "Bad Time". Despite the warning, Frisk kept killing more and more monsters, becoming stronger, but also losing more and more of themselves. Arriving at the capital of the Underground, New Home, Flowey told Frisk about his life and how he used his power of "determination", only for Frisk to scare him, having the intend of killing him. Chasing Flowey into the Last Corridor, Frisk met with Sans again. Before a battle could happen, Frisk was teleported out of their world through a portal"} Episode 1{"Frisk acts as the secondary main focus of episode 1, and second threat besides Charlotte. They first appear out of a portal in Hallownest through unknown reasons, and kill both the Hollow Knight and Knight shortly after. They enter another portal into the wasteland where they try to kill Madeline, only to fail thanks to Badeline. They encounter Charlotte and fight her and her drone army, but get brutally wounded by hundreds of copies of the Real Knife created by Charlotte. Frisk lost it after their battle against Charlotte" + "Burned Pan (Secondary weapon; Lost in Episode 1): A strong weapon that can heal Frisk over time. Frisk lost it after throwing it at Madeline, only to get it kicked back in the face" + "The Locket (Armor; Fractured in Episode 2): A golden heart Locket that belonged to the first fallen human Chara. It gives Frisk 99 defense, making them almost invincible. After ascending into his Nightmare form, Springtrap stole the Locket from Frisk and crushed it underfoot, depriving Frisk of their nigh invulnerability. The Puppet later restores the Locket and returns it to Frisk alongside the Princess Quest Sword, who used both to defeat Nightmare Springtrap. It currently has returned to its fractured state after exiting Princess Quest" + "Healing Items: Frisk has multiple items in form of food that can heal them" + "Determination: Frisk has the ability to come back to life after dying by turning back time using a SAVE point, which saves their progress of their journey and fully heals them. This doesn't restore energy however, as Frisk can still be tired after saving" + "Conveniently shaped lamp (Tool; Destroyed in Episode 2): A lamp for Frisk to hide behind or use as a distraction, avoiding danger from both Springtrap's army and Nightmare Springtrap. It was destroyed by Nightmare Springtrap" + "Flashlight (Tool; Lost in Episode 2): Found at Fazbear's Fright: The Horror Attraction. Used against the Daycare Attendant. The flashlight turns off, due to Balloon Boy stealing the batteries and Frisk then drops it, avoiding an attack from Vanny" + "Vanny’s knife (Temporary weapon; Destroyed in Episode 2): A knife they stole off of Vanny. Nightmare Springtrap destroyed it when Frisk attacked him after rejecting his deal" + "Princess Quest Sword (Temporary weapon; Lost in Episode 2): A sword given to Frisk, by the Puppet to fight Nightmare Springtrap. The sword disappeared when exiting the Princess Quest IV world"} Relationships{"Charlotte" + "Their first encounter being at the end of the episode, Charlotte ordered her drones to steal Frisk's knife, provoking the fight in the first place. Seeing Frisk killing some of the drones, Charlotte has enough and makes sure to make them suffer. Charlotte fatally wounds Frisk when transforming into innumerable copies of their Real Knife and sending them back. Once Charlotte loses her main energy source, Frisk gets an opportunity to attack, trying to kill Charlotte. But she flings the Real Knife away and teleports Frisk to a unknown place"} + "Madeline" + "Upon first meeting, Frisk attempts to kill Madeline by slashing her with their knife, and Pursue's her in an attempt to kill her. Using the Burnt Pan, Frisk tries to hit Madeline. She kicks it back, hitting Frisk's face and leaving a comical indent. But they throw the pan and keep chasing her. Thanks to Badeline, they were able to get away from Frisk. Frisk is also thwarted from killing Charlotte by Madeline warning her before they can attack" + "The Knight" + "Upon entering the Hollow Knight world, Frisk kills the Sealed Vessel and the Knight inside the Black Egg, and leaves to the Wasteland. Later on, we see the Knight stand on guard as Frisk approaches to kill Charlotte" + "Sans" + "Taking information from the official game due to not interacting in the series, Sans keeps an eye on Frisk during their entire journey in the Underground. Seeing Frisk has killed everyone they encountered, Sans has no choice but to fight them. But nothing their LV of 19, and as confirmed by MORØ, Frisk's story takes place before the Sans fight. However, they may have encountered in the Last Corridor because of a flashback they have when attacking Charlotte" + "Springtrap" + "Frisk initially meets William as Springtrap in one of the Fazbear's locations, presumably Fazbear Frights. Springtrap attempts to kill Frisk, but Frisk easily overpowers him, almost killing him until he is turned into his nightmare form. He learns of their powers and history, achieving a semi-godhood and sending many of the animatronics we see in the FNaF games after them, but they escape with the help of Glamrock Freddy. They once again encounter him after being killed by a possessed Glam Freddy, where he offers a deal for them to join him. He states that they are alike in their goals, motivations and actions, but Frisk states that they are not him, killing him with the help of Glam Freddy and the Puppet" + "Glamrock Freddy" + "Glamrock Freddy first met Frisk after they initially escaped the hoard of Animatronics Springtrap loosed on them. Though wary and ready to fight him, Frisk ultimately chose to trust Freddy's plea to bring them to safety after the two were found by the hoard again. However Frisk still acted abrasive when Freddy inquired about their identity or if he could scan them but this did not bother Freddy, who remained friendly and he displayed open concern when Frisk ran ahead to parts unknown. He was also endeared when Frisk came running back and jumped into his chest cavity for security, affirming to his new friend to not worry and that he would protect them. From there, Freddy displayed both joy at Frisk's successes and more concern for their health after another run in with the Animatronics. Despite their short time together, Springtrap considered the bond between Freddy and Frisk enough of an issue to deter the latter from it when offering a partnership, telling Frisk to not let their soft spot for the kind Animatronic distract them from the monstrous qualities Afton and Frisk share. Freddy returns after Frisk successfully beats Springtrap out of Nightmare Form, outraged at the child murderer's attempt to control him. Together, he and Frisk kill the monster for good. When a portal appears that can take Frisk away, Freddy says his goodbyes to his new friend, with the two parting on good terms. This is notably the first time in this series that Frisk has ever willingly spared someone's life, implying the adventure has had them abort their Genocide Run" + "The Beheaded" + "While they have never directly interacted, the portal that entered Fazbear Frights was the same one that the Beheaded was going to enter before GameMaster absorbed it away. Frisk heard the Beheaded's voice from the portal, letting go of Springtrap and approaching the portal to enter it"} Trivia{"Frisk is LV 19 in the series, the level the player would be just before facing Sans in a genocide run" + "Frisk's design is based on JZBoy's design of the aforementioned character with several tweaks, such as the addition of neck and shorts, their hair being more pointy, their waist being bent, their eyelashes being removed, and a part-removal of the line disconnecting their arms and torso" + "JZBoy's Frisk design has been used in MORØ's previous projects, such as Friday Night Funkin': Indie Cross and the short animation Frisk VS. Nightmare Sans" + "Their design appears to be updated in Episode 2, with their eyes not being pointy, their body being buffer, and their hair being shorter" + "MORØ confirmed that when Frisk was hit by the boulder in Episode 1, they survived by using an item to heal themselves offscreen" + "MORØ has revealed that Frisk will be important in future episodes, and that they will be on their own plotline" + "In MORØ's previous work, Frisk was depicted to be possessed by Chara, the first human who fell to the underground. This doesn't happen in the series, where Frisk does every action on their own accord" + "However, their relation is referenced in episode 2, where their menu at a save point initially displays their name as "Chara". While the other characters struggled to battle even one drone, Frisk was capable of taking on multiple of them and killing them in one hit" + "This is no longer the case after they lose their Real Knife and their Heart Locket was broken" + "MORØ has stated that Frisk may not appear in Episode 3 at all" + "If true, this would make Frisk the only main character who is still alive to skip an episode" + "Typing "FRISK" on the Indie Cross website makes the text say: "ELIMINATED"} Name:{"Madeline"} Nicknames{"Young lady (by Shovel Knight)" + "Dollface (by Cuphead)" + "Darling (by Badeline)"} Gender{"Female"} Species{"Human"} Debut{"Episode 1"} Appearances{"Episode 1" + "Episode 2"} Status{"Alive"} Voiced by{"Chloe Eves"} Allies{"Badeline (Reflection)" + "The Knight" + "Charlotte" + "Shovel Knight" + "Cuphead" + "Niko" + "The Drifter"} Enemies{"Frisk" + "Game Master (Defeated)" + "Unithor" + "Unreal" + "Midusara" + "Badeline (Formerly; Original game)" + "Shovel Knight (Formerly)" + "Cuphead (Formerly)"} Game Series{"Celeste"} Created by{"Maddy Makes Games"} Appearance{"Madeline is a short, young Canadian woman with pale skin, purple-ish eyes, and long thick ruby hair with one wayward curl. Throughout the events of the game, she wears an aqua snow jacket, dark grey pants, black and dark grey walking boots, and her brown climbing backpack equipped with a red sleeping mat and plastic water bottle."} Personality{"In her game, Madeline is shown to be strong-willed and determined yet heavily conflicted, climbing Celeste Mountain to spite herself. Other characters note her courage, some even berating her and calling her foolish, warning her to turn back before she gets herself hurt. Still, she presses on, determined to drive out unwanted thoughts from her mind and take control of her life even when it's pointless and harmful. She is shown to try to help anyone she comes across, being friendly when she can. She saves the Knight, and the Knight saves her in return, creating mutual respect. And she expresses concern for Charlotte when Frisk attacks her. Her encounter with Frisk shows a bit of her more snappy personality, which usually happens when she’s under threat and stress. Even then, when Badeline drops a mountain on them, she still expresses empathy."} Knight's Journal entry{"Note: _ represents an undeciphered word. (Due to the writing being very unidentifiable, some words may be based on interpretation, and should be taken with a grain of salt.)" + "A figure with fierce determination in her eyes. I almost fell, certain death below, but she saved me-for _ dodging _ as she dashed through the air to catch me. She has a strange power, able to leap through the air in a flash, even scaling impossible heights with ease. Her abilities seem tied to some inner strength, though it clearly takes a toll on her. There's a burden she carries, something I cannot quite grasp. Yet, despite her struggle, she continues upward."} Involvement{"Before Indie Cross" + "To prove and challenge herself, Madeline had set out to climb Mount Celeste, starting the events of Celeste. Her first encounter on her climb was an old woman who told Madeline that this mountain was a strange place and that she might "see things". Shrugging it off, she continued her climb, eventually meeting a fellow climber named Theo. After making some progress, Madeline rested, feeling that this climb was a mistake. In her dreams, she met a doppelganger who introduced herself as a "part of her", Badeline, who told Madeline that she wasn't a mountain climber and that they should go home, hunting Madeline through her dream until she woke up. Badeline would continue to sabotage Madeline, even putting her and Theo in danger." + "After a talk between Madeline and Theo, Madeline wanted to "move on" from Badeline, only for her to snap, throwing Madeline down the mountain. Completely defeated, Madeline was on her way back home, only for the old woman, Granny, to tell her that maybe what Madeline should do is to help Badeline, as she was the scared one. Confronting herself, Madeline accepted Badeline as a part of her, coming to terms with herself. Together they could climb the mountain and reach the summit. Climbing back down, Madeline stopped at Granny's house, where Theo also waited, to bake a strawberry pie with the strawberries she collected throughout her journey." + "After her climb, Madeline ended up in the Wastelands, wandering around to find a way back."} Episode 1{"Madeline is introduced as a deuteragonist during episode one. She's seen walking through the Wasteland alone before coming across Frisk and makes conversation; they instead pull out the Real Knife on her. She tries to diffuse the situation before eventually jumping off a ledge and clinging to its wall. Frisk, however, drops down the cliff face to initiate the fight prompt. Seeing this, Madeline leaps from the wall as Frisk gives chase. She kicks away the Burnt Pan and hastily scales some rock formations, with help from a Badeline Booster. Madeline then watches on as Badeline slices a pillar of stone that seemingly crushes Frisk." + "We cut back to Madeline, now accompanied by Badeline, reflecting on their predicament. They hear a faint nursery chime coming from the wandering Shade as the Knight appears beside them and hobbles towards it. When the Knight falls between the crumbling fault-line, Madeline immediately swoops to save them, catching them mid-air. In return, the Knight Crystal Dashes them off the wall to safety, much to her gratitude." + "Discovering Charlotte in her weakened state, Madeline asks if there's any way for them to leave. She has to warn Charlotte when Frisk reappears and attacks, whereby the Knight stands ready to defend her. She surveys the almost depleted Charlotte, getting caught off guard by the Knight's Baldur Shell blocking Cuphead's Charge shot."} Episode 2{"TBA"} Abilities{"Dash: Can perform a dash in any direction. If used in the air, her hair turns cyan and she has to regain her dash by touching the ground." + "Wavedash: Madeline jumps immediately after dashing, catapulting herself a significantly farther distance horizontally." + "Grab: Can grip onto walls briefly before losing traction. This can be reset by making contact with the floor." + "Badeline: As a manifestation of Madelines other part, Badeline can help and protect her in combat with lasers and energy projectiles." + "Fusion: Madeline fuses with Badeline to perform a second dash, turning her hair pink." + "Golden Feather: After a short charge-up, allows rapid flight in any direction for a limited time. Madeline may perform this at will, as opposed to her in-game counterpart."} Relationships{"Badeline" + "Madeline was always at odds with Badeline on the mountain, given she’s a manifestation of her own self-loathing and dark thoughts. She has always seen her as an obstacle, not knowing it was just her subconscious trying to protect her. After talking with Theo, she decided that she needed to let Badeline go, but that only worsened things. She finally realizes that she needs to accept that Badeline will always be with her, and come to terms with herself. They can then gain confidence to climb the mountain, talking and listening to each other and discussing their problems individually. By the end, she gets along with Badeline pretty well, despite having disagreements with her methods, like when Badeline “took care” of Frisk." +" Once arriving in the city, Madeline listens to Badeline's concerns about her place in their current situation, however Madeline retorts back that she did prove her wrong before, and tells her that she couldn't have accomplished her previous goal of climbing the mountain without her, telling her that accepting the others could make a difference for the better, before her mood brightens as she says that it will be nice to pass more time with Badeline, however it may be happening." + "The Knight" + "Despite having a jarring first impression of the Knight, encountering its shade, she does save them when they are in danger. After the Knight saves her, the Knight bows to her as a sign of thanks, giving Madeline a sense of comfort that not everything is hostile in this wasteland. She then tries to find a way to get them both out of there, asking Charlotte for help. By episode 2, Madeline and the Knight seem to have a stronger bond, as she trusts the little ghost in holding back Shovel Knight and Cuphead while she escapes with Charlotte's body." + "When arriving in the city, their interactions are shorter, but Madeline shows genuine happiness as the Knight summons the Dream Shield to protect her from the rain. After the fight with Nightmare Game Master is finished and they're interrupted by the other Rogues, she seems genuinely distraught as Little Ghost sacrifices themselves to save Madeline and the Drifter from turning into gold, even trying to reach out for them, even if for naught." + "Charlotte" + "Madeline and the Knight meet Charlotte in her powered-down form, wanting to know if she can help them. They are unaware that she is more dangerous than they think. Charlotte does seem willing to help, but is interrupted by Frisk. When Charlotte uses the last of her energy to teleport Frisk away, they come over to see if she’s okay. She sees her as not a threat and possibly has information about getting out of the wastelands." + "Shovel Knight" + "Madeline tries convincing Shovel Knight in helping Charlotte. However, having used the Phase Locket to maneuver around her and the Knight, Madeline quickly carries Charlotte away as Shovel Knight and Cuphead pursue them up the mountain. She quickly extends an olive branch to him and Cuphead under the pretense of Charlotte getting them back home. She and Shovel Knight then work together to parry Cuphead's ghost before they can escape. Once at Grillby's, she and the rest of the main cast play darts, and Shovel Knight is embarrassed by his placement." + "Cuphead" + "Likewise, she and Cuphead start on the wrong foot, where Cuphead attempts to finish what's left of Charlotte and Madeline protesting his efforts. This leads to a chase across the Wasteland, ending in her getting knocked out by a precise charge-shot. After Unithor makes their presence known and kills Cuphead, Madeline and Shovel Knight ascend to parry his ghost. Madeline uses her breathing practice to attain the abilities of the golden feather and catch Cuphead, bringing herself and everyone else out of the Wastes. They later converse at Grillby's while eating pancakes, making light of their previous exploits and playing some low-key games. Once Game Master intrudes, she assists Cuphead by carrying him with the golden feather skyward during the main cast's combined finisher." + "Niko" + "Madeline and Niko don’t interact in Episode 2, but it can be assumed they consider each other allies."} Trivia{"Madeline is canonically a transgender woman. Finding a way out of the abyss, the Knight wandered into the outer lands of Hallownest all alone. One day, they were called back to the now ruined kingdom by the screams of the Radiance, returning to the kingdom and sparking the events of Hollow Knight. The Knight soon discovered the Temple of the Black Egg where the Hollow Knight was sealed. To open the seal of the temple, the Knight had to find and take down the three dreamers with the use of the dream nail; Monomon The Teacher in the Teacher's Archives in Fog Canyon, Lurien The Watcher in the Watcher's Spire in the City of Tears, and Herrah The Beast in the Beast's Den in Deepnest, while also encountering various inhabitants along the way, such as Hornet, the Knight's sister.
