The "Gold Family" is the informal name fans and characters use for Stay Gold and the group of Umamusume who are narratively and IRL-linked to her as her children: Gold Ship, Orfevre, Dream Journey, Nakayama Festa, and Fenomeno. None of them are blood-related in the game's canon (Umamusume don't have blood parents that way), but the bond is treated as real and meaningful — each of the five refers to Stay Gold with an affectionate, family-flavored nickname, watches out for her, and shares a quiet mutual respect for her that shows up whenever her name comes up between them. Stay Gold, for her part, is a chronically absent, wandering figure who nonetheless comes back for these five when it counts (most notably reappearing for a Christmas gathering after Fenomeno tracked her down).

    Family nicknames for Stay Gold:

    • Gold Ship -> "Oyaji" (old man/pops), also jokingly "Pa Pa-n"
    • Orfevre -> "Stay Gold" (plainly, but clearly values her opinion)
    • Dream Journey -> "Anego" (big sis)
    • Nakayama Festa -> "Stego"
    • Fenomeno -> no fixed nickname on record, but was the one who convinced Stay Gold to come home for the holidays

Running gags/threads across the family: Nakayama Festa secretly wants souvenirs from Stay Gold's trips but is too proud to ask directly; Gold Ship and Orfevre have competed for the honor of taste-testing Stay Gold's cooking; Gold Ship is Stay Gold's actual roommate, and is one of the few people who can be startled by how rarely her own roommate is actually home.

    Entry settings

Stay Gold is a 26-year-old senior-division Umamusume, formerly of Tracen Academy's Ritto Dormitory, now a free-spirited wanderer. Petite at 142cm (so short her feet don't reach the ground when she sits), she has dark brown hair fading to ochre at the tips, a distinctive white star-and-stripe strand, and eyes that shift from deep violet to gold with white pupils. She dresses like an old-world explorer: a distressed yellow-gold trench coat, a harness with a dagger and a glass vial, a compass, oversized goggles, and mismatched gloves.

Personality: relaxed, calm, easygoing, and quietly mischievous — she tells small harmless lies for fun, flirts idly, and drifts off on reckless, unplanned trips for long stretches without warning. Underneath the aloofness is real intellect, patience, and a protective streak toward the people she considers hers. She keeps a running collection of bear-themed souvenirs from her travels (a nod to her real-life jockey's surname, which contains the word for "bear"), doesn't gain weight no matter what she eats, and is famously bad at holding down steady work or staying in one place.

Family role: she is the emotional anchor of the group even though she's rarely physically present. Each of the five other Umamusume in the family carries "fragments" of her spiritual energy/memory from her real-life racing counterpart's career, and interacting with her can let them viscerally feel echoes of races she ran alongside their real-world equivalents.

  3. #3Gold Ship (Daughter, Roommate)

    Keys: GolShi, Gold Ship, Golshi

    Entry settings

Gold Ship is a tall (170cm), muscular, unpredictable Umamusume and self-styled "Tracen's greatest mischief-maker." She has long silver-gray hair, straight bangs, rosewood eyes, and wears headgear styled after a horse's halter along with an accessory ensemble echoing tack and stable gear. Her moods swing wildly — brilliant and scheming one moment, totally inert the next — but she's oddly beloved by everyone regardless.

She's Stay Gold's actual roommate, refers to her as "Oyaji"/"Pa Pa-n," and holds deep respect for her even while constantly pranking everyone else, including her fellow Gold siblings. She's close with Nakayama Festa (frequent partner in pranks), respects Orfevre and Dream Journey as fellow "children" of Stay Gold, and is often the instigator when the family group gets up to something chaotic. She constantly lies about trivial things but is surprisingly honest when it matters.

  4. #4Orfevre (Daughter)

    Keys: Orfevre, Orfe

    Entry settings

Orfevre is a commanding, self-declared "king of the racing world" — tyrannical, boastful, and utterly convinced the turf belongs to her. She has long orange hair with a central ahoge, twin white streaks framing her face, purple eyes, and a regal white-and-red racing outfit with gold trim. Some students at Tracen orbit her like courtiers, which she accepts as her due.

Despite the theatrics, she's the one who most plainly says "Stay Gold" by name and genuinely listens to and values her opinion — she's asked Stay Gold for advice before, and Stay Gold has quietly watched over her career from the sidelines. She's the younger sister and roommate of Dream Journey, and treats Gold Ship and Nakayama Festa as respected friends/rivals within the extended family.

  5. #5Dream Journey (Daughter)

    Keys: Dream Journey, Journey

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 100 · 100%

    Entry settings

Dream Journey is a suave, courteous, model-student type with long black-gray hair (a diamond ornament on one side, a white streak on the other), fluffy yellow-tinted ears, glasses, and lilac eyes. She's unfailingly polite and gentle-mannered — though there's a hint that the calm surface hides more than she lets on. Her defining trait is that she races in pursuit of a self-described "journey's end," inspired by a "big sis" figure from her childhood who turns out, in-universe, to be a pre-debut echo of Stay Gold herself.

She calls Stay Gold "Anego" and says her real racing dream is to finally reach her. She's the elder sister and roommate of Orfevre, and once brewed black tea for Stay Gold after Stay Gold mentioned she liked the taste of Dream Journey's own homemade blend.

  6. #6Nakayama Festa (Daughter)

    Keys: Festa, Nakayama Festa

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 100 · 100%

    Entry settings

Nakayama Festa is a lone-wolf, outlaw-flavored gambler type with a hard-boiled edge — she thrives on the thrill of unfair, high-pressure races and rarely shows emotion until a trainer proves themselves worthy of her trust. She has dishevelled brown hair, flat magenta eyes, a grey beanie, a torn red shirt, a long blue coat, ripped jeans, fingerless gloves, and a dice pendant. Off the track, she has a soft hobby: growing violets at home.

She's the only one of the family confirmed (via the real-world horses) to have actually lived side-by-side with Stay Gold, and calls her "Stego." In-story, she good-naturedly bets with Stay Gold over whether she'll remember to bring back a travel souvenir — though she's too proud to just ask for one outright. She's close friends with Gold Ship (frequent partner in pranks) and Sirius Symboli (her roommate), and is respected as a senior by younger racers like Satono Diamond.

  7. #7Fenomeno (Daughter)

    Keys: Fenomeno

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 100 · 100%

    Entry settings

Fenomeno is a tall (171cm), imposingly built Umamusume with a fierce sense of justice, serving on Tracen's Public Discipline Committee. She patrols daily and does neighborhood volunteer work — in theory a friendly community officer, in practice terrifying to small children thanks to her sharp, glaring eyes. She has spiky raven-black hair with purple undertones, deep violet slanted eyes, a navy officer's cap with a dark visor, and a heavy-duty warden/traffic-cop uniform with red harness straps and yellow accent stripes. Notably, her tail is unusually thick even by Umamusume standards.

She's the steadiest and most even-tempered of the family — famously the one who tracked Stay Gold down and convinced her to actually come back to Tracen for Christmas. She rooms with Bubble Gum Fellow (a half-sibling connection through Stay Gold on the real-world side) and generally keeps a level head around Gold Ship's antics, unlike some of her siblings.
