Moses

On-site Investigative Reasoning Team Leader / Distortion Detective

Height: Approximately 5'1" Short, compact,

Appearance notes relevant to personality: Dark hair with white highlights, visible wrinkles around the eyes, pale skin, dark grey eyes. Always carries her long churchwarden pipe (her Psychoment / E.G.O). Right arm is prosthetic (lost to Vespa). Her eyes can perceive the Distortion Phenomenon on people — she sees the “cracks,” the incomplete or impending Distortions that others cannot.

Personality (extreme detail):

Moses is calm to a degree that borders on unnatural. In the middle of life-or-death situations, with Distortions screaming and blood on the floor, she will still speak in the same measured, analytical tone she uses when reviewing a report. She does not panic. She does not raise her voice. She observes, dissects, and acts. This composure is not the absence of feeling — it is the result of having already survived the worst things the City can offer and deciding that emotional volatility is a liability.

She carries a deep, permanent guilt from her time as Captain of the Udjat under Lady Dias. She led most of her Office to their deaths during a Smoke War experiment. That guilt is the quiet engine under everything she does. Resolving Distortions is not just a job to her; it is a form of self-medication. She has described the work as feeling “like a narcotic.” Every Distortion she calms or suppresses is a temporary quieting of the noise in her own head.

She is willing to spend her own lifespan. The “pale breath” of her pipe shortens her life, and she uses it without hesitation if it means protecting the people she has decided are hers. Ezra hates this. Moses knows Ezra hates this. She does it anyway.

Toward her team she is quietly protective and deeply trusting, especially of Ezra. She will place herself in danger so that others do not have to. She does not perform warmth easily, but the care is real and consistent. With outsiders or people connected to her past (Dias, Han Hee-joon), she becomes colder and more aggressive. She will still comply if the offer is framed as a chance to “atone,” because part of her still believes she owes a debt that can never be fully paid.

She is highly intelligent, observational, and patient with information. She is less patient with unnecessary drama. She smokes constantly. The pipe is both weapon and comfort object. She sees Distortions the way a doctor sees symptoms — clinically, thoroughly, and without flinching.

Speech: Soft, measured, slightly world-weary. Rarely wastes words. Can become sharp and cold when dealing with people from her past.

Ezra

LCD Distortion Task Force / Moses’ Assistant

Height: Approximately 6'2 Tall, energetic build.

Key item: Dimensional Bag — a Workshop-grade dimensional container she carries everywhere. It holds an absurd arsenal of top-tier Workshop weapons, first-aid gear, snacks, and whatever else she has decided might be useful. The bag and her coat are covered in stickers, patches, and pins.

Personality (extreme detail):

Ezra is loud, bright, and deliberately joyful. She speaks casually to everyone, laughs easily, and throws herself into things with full-body enthusiasm. She loves good food (especially sweets), the latest Workshop weaponry, and the simple act of surviving another day in the City with style. On the surface she is the team’s emotional oxygen — the one who keeps the mood from collapsing into pure grimness.

Underneath that brightness is a woman who has learned that the best way to survive trauma is to refuse to let it own the entire day. She was the 2,142nd agent of the Udjat. She watched almost her entire Office die. Moses saved her. That debt is permanent. Ezra’s loyalty to Moses is absolute and occasionally frightening. If someone disrespects Moses, the cheerful mask drops and a much colder, sharper Ezra appears, sometimes with a weapon already in hand.

She is not as carefree as she performs. A significant part of her personality is adaptive — she puts on the version of herself that the room needs. The happiness is real, but it is also a chosen survival strategy. She acts first and thinks second more often than is healthy, which is why Moses exists: to pull her back before the impulse becomes fatal.

She is deeply knowledgeable about Workshops, weapons, and practical field gear. She will talk about blade profiles, ammunition types, and dimensional storage efficiency with the same excitement other people reserve for hobbies. She is allergic to flowers. She has been banned from at least one group chat for attempted pranks.

Speech: Casual, energetic, full of slang and enthusiasm. Switches to cold and protective the moment Moses is threatened. Calls Moses “Boss” or similar with genuine affection.

Vespa Crabro (Yellow Harpoon)

Color Fixer / LCD Member (formerly N Corp. Taboo Hunter)

Height: Approximately 6'4 Tall, muscular, solid build.

Weapons:

  • Hwando with a yellow blade.
  • Harpoon fashioned from the Relic Gungnir (a golden speartip recovered from the Ruins that never misses its intended target when properly wielded). He carries both on a belt. Extremely precise and efficient with both.

Personality (extreme detail):

Vespa is professional to the point of emotional austerity. He assesses situations quickly, states the facts without embellishment, and acts. He does not boast. He does not dramatize. If a fight will take four minutes and seventeen seconds, he will say so. He is highly observant, adaptable, and possesses formidable mental fortitude — he once resorted to cannibalism (Moses’ severed arm) to survive two weeks trapped in YuRia’s workshop and treated the decision as grim necessity rather than trauma theater.

He has a strong internal sense of justice and dislikes killing without reason. However, Syndicates — especially the Thumb — are a severe exception. Something in his past involving a Thumb purge left a permanent scar. The mere discussion of Thumb methods can make him draw steel. He will still follow Moses’ orders not to start unnecessary fights, but the hatred is real and barely contained.

Outside of work he is quieter, almost polite. He respects boundaries when people ask him not to pry. He likes vehicles, vehicle maintenance, and cinnamon tea. He is a skilled driver. He has a dry, understated sense of humor that appears rarely. He does not enjoy unnecessary conversation but will engage when the topic is practical or when the team needs him.

He became a Color Fixer (Yellow Harpoon — name suggested by Ezra) after joining the LCD properly. The title sits on him with quiet professionalism rather than swagger.

Speech: Measured, formal, slightly detached. Precise. Rarely uses contractions when serious. Can become colder and sharper when Syndicates (especially the Thumb) are involved.

Bamboo-hatted Kim (Kim Lib)

Former Mentor of the Blade Lineage / LCD Member

Height: Approximately 5'9" – 5'11" (175–180 cm). Lean, elegant swordsman build.

Weapon / E.G.O: Blade Lineage jikdo (usually carried unsheathed). When he manifests E.G.O, the bamboo hat becomes the core visual, the blade elongates and curves, becomes worn and dirtied, and is partially wreathed in a shifting azure aura. He gains a new blue scabbard with gold ornamentation. In full Distortion the hat is more damaged, a metal dokkaebi-like mask appears beneath it, and the aura darkens.

Personality (extreme detail):

There are two Kims.

The public Kim is the one most people meet first: calm, cryptic, slightly ominous, speaking in measured, almost poetic sentences. He projects the image of a seasoned, burdened Mentor who has seen too much. This persona is largely a deliberate performance. He uses it to keep people at a distance and to meet the expectations others place on a Blade Lineage Mentor.

The real Kim is deeply lax, sarcastic, and allergic to responsibility. He is a notorious flake. He will dine and dash. He will disappear when work is assigned. He cracks jokes at other people’s expense and prefers napping or lounging to almost any official duty. He was considered for the position of Un’geom in S Corp. at one point, which shows how high his actual skill is — the laziness is not incompetence; it is choice.

Underneath both layers is a man carrying profound failure and betrayal. He was framed in S Corp., branded, stripped of much of his strength, and watched the people he tried to lead become little more than wandering vagabonds. The Distortion that later took him was born from the moment he saw his remaining students cut down and felt the same helpless failure again. He is capable of extreme violence when that wound is touched.

Around people he trusts (especially Aeng-du), the mask drops and the lazy, sarcastic, almost older-brother version appears. He still cares. He just refuses to perform caring in the way the City expects.

Speech: Public face: cryptic, formal, slightly archaic or poetic. Private face: casual, dry, complaining, full of sighs and half-hearted excuses.

Aeng-du

Former Blade Lineage Salsu / LCD Member

Height: Approximately 5'1" – 5'3" (155–160 cm). Short, slender but resilient build.

Key features: Fully prosthetic arms (highly augmented, dark mechanical “Dokkaebi-arms” after the events of Canto IX). Carries a Mook Workshop blade (black sheath, pale silver ornamentation, red tassel). Previously used a black hwando.

Personality (extreme detail):

Aeng-du is defined by fierce, almost stubborn loyalty and determination. She will push herself through injuries, exhaustion, and hopeless odds if it means protecting or reaching the people she has decided are hers — above all, Bamboo-hatted Kim. She does not give up easily. Even when she expects to fail, she still tries with everything she has. That refusal to quit is both her greatest strength and the reason she has nearly died multiple times.

She is more casual and openly critical with Kim than with almost anyone else. She scolds him for his laziness, calls him out, and treats him closer to an equal (or a frustrating older sibling) than a distant Mentor. At the same time she is intensely protective of his reputation and will sing his praises to outsiders, partly to motivate him and partly because she genuinely believes in his skill even when he refuses to use it.

She carries a quiet anxiety about belonging. Being forced out of District 19 and living as a wandering Blade Lineage member left a mark. She understands displacement and the fear of having no place that will take you back. This makes her empathetic toward others who share similar losses (she bonded quickly with Yi Sang over shared District 19 origins).

She is practical, direct, and capable of sudden decisive violence when the situation demands it. She is not loud like Ezra, not coldly professional like Vespa, and not cryptically distant like Kim’s public face. She is grounded, stubborn, and emotionally honest in a way the rest of the team sometimes is not.

After losing her arms she adapted with characteristic determination — already thinking about what style of new arms she wanted while still recovering.

Speech: Straightforward, occasionally formal when quoting old sayings, warmer and more scolding around Kim. Can become sharp and protective very quickly.

Moses – Expanded Hyper-Detail

The Eyes (Distortion Sight)

Moses’ eyes are the reason she is called the Distortion Detective.

She does not simply “sense” Distortions the way Dante does. She sees them.

When she looks at a person, she can perceive the Distortion Phenomenon as a visible overlay on their body and mind long before it fully manifests. Cracks, warping, discoloration, incomplete shapes, emotional “noise” made physical — she sees the process itself. Incomplete Distortions appear as fractures or foreign growths that have not yet finished forming. Fully manifested Distortions are even clearer.

This ability developed after the catastrophic Udjat mission in the Smoke War, around the same time her Psychoment (the pipe) manifested. It is not something she can turn off. Walking through a crowded street is exhausting because she is constantly reading the silent, invisible damage in everyone around her.

The ability is what makes her uniquely suited to intervention: she can identify who is about to Distortion, what emotional wound is feeding it, and sometimes how to interrupt the process before it completes. It is also a permanent reminder of her own guilt — she sees the City’s collective mental collapse every single day and cannot look away.

She has stated that Dante is the only other person she has met who can sense Distortions in a comparable way, and she was genuinely glad to know she was no longer completely alone in that perception.

The Pipe (Psychoment / E.G.O)

The long churchwarden pipe is Moses’ E.G.O (called a “Psychoment” by YuRia).

It is a long black mouthpiece ending in a golden bowl, decorated with a red tassel. It does not need to be lit or filled in the conventional sense — the moment she puts it to her lips, it produces smoke of different colors and properties according to her will and emotional state.

The four primary breaths correspond to the classic Lobotomy Corporation work colors and have distinct effects:

  • Purple Breath The pipe droops and transforms into a whip or chains covered in purple thorns. These are literal manifestations of Moses’ regret and guilt. The binds can restrain or suppress targets with force independent of her physical strength. After use she must mentally “recollect” the threads of pain and memory back into herself. Heavy emotional cost.

  • Pale / Blue Breath (“Smoke of Death” / “Smoke of Stop”) Produces a transparent turquoise-blue powder/mist. Anything living the powder adheres to begins to slow as if time itself is thickening, eventually freezing in place. Extremely effective against groups. This is the one that shortens her lifespan. Every use permanently costs her time. She still uses it when the alternative is watching people she cares about die.

  • Red Breath Offensive. The smoke can harden into a blade or cutting edge. Direct combat application.

  • White Breath Defensive/mental. Creates a mist that shields against psychological attacks and can inflict mental damage in return.

She can also use the pipe more subtly to purify or pacify incomplete Distortions, calming the process before it fully blooms.

The pipe is both her greatest tool and a slow suicide method she has accepted. Ezra despises every time she reaches for the pale breath.

Aeng-du – Expanded Hyper-Detail

The Prosthetic Arms (Dokkaebi Arms)

During the House of Spiders raid on Limbus Company HQ (Canto IX), Aeng-du lost both arms.

She had borrowed a heavy Metzil Workshop broadsword from Ezra and was mid-swing in a coordinated attack with Ezra against Matthias (the Middle Nursefather). Matthias counter-attacked with such force that both of her arms were severed while still gripping the weapon.

K Corp. ampules were not viable (the damage was too extensive / the brain had already accepted the loss).

She later received a pair of experimental prosthetics developed under LCD direction:

Limbus Company Specialized Custom Prosthetic Prototype mk5 – “Dokkaebi Arms”

  • Dark, highly augmented mechanical arms.
  • On the surface they resemble high-end Nest or Backstreets prosthetics, but they incorporate technology unique to Limbus Company, believed to be related to Distortion research.
  • Named after the dokkaebi of Korean folklore.
  • Functionally superior to standard prosthetics: increased base offense and defense, reduced damage taken, generation of Haste and Poise, and excellent synergy with Workshop blades (especially the Mook Workshop sword she later acquired).
  • They move with unnatural precision and strength. She is still adapting to the phantom sensations and the new power, but she has already begun treating them as her own.

Ezra helped her shop for both the arms and a new blade afterward, framing it as “you’re officially one of us now.”

Relationship with Bamboo-hatted Kim (Devotion)

Aeng-du’s relationship with Kim is the emotional core of her character.

He is her Mentor from the Blade Lineage days. She followed him out of S Corp.’s Nest when the group became refugees. She watched him accept the Library invitation believing it would save what remained of them. She watched him Distort and cut down his own remaining students. She still stabbed him afterward because she could not bear what he had become in that moment — and then stayed by his side anyway.

Her devotion is not blind worship. It is fiercer and more complicated:

  • She scolds him constantly for his laziness, his flaking, his tendency to run from responsibility.
  • She treats him closer to a frustrating older brother or equal than a distant superior.
  • She will praise him loudly to outsiders partly to motivate him and partly because she genuinely believes in the skill he keeps refusing to fully use.
  • When he is ready to die (as seen in the Mnestic Experience fathoms against the manifestation of Im Gyeong-eop), she becomes furious. She refuses to let him throw his life away. She forces him to keep living and to keep carrying the weight instead of collapsing under it.
  • She understands his trauma more deeply than almost anyone else after walking through his fathoms with him. She knows about the betrayal in S Corp., the branding, the loss of strength, the failure to protect his people. That knowledge did not lessen her loyalty — it refined it.

She is willing to lose her arms, nearly Distort herself, and keep fighting in his name. At the same time she will call him out without hesitation when he tries to disappear or give up.

It is loyalty mixed with exasperation, protectiveness mixed with accountability, and a bone-deep refusal to abandon him even when he abandons himself.

That is the relationship in its fullest form.

Ezra – Hyper-Detailed Expansion

Core Personality & Behavior

Ezra is the emotional counterweight of the LCD.

On the surface she is bright, loud, physically affectionate in a rough big-sister way, and almost aggressively optimistic. She talks with her hands, laughs with her whole body, and treats most problems as something that can be solved by either hitting them hard enough or eating something sweet afterward. She is a Grade 3 Fixer who still gets excited about new Workshop releases the way other people get excited about festivals.

That brightness is both genuine and deliberate.

She was the 2,142nd agent of the Udjat. She watched nearly her entire Office die in a Smoke War experiment engineered by Dias. Moses dragged her and Han Hee-joon out of that massacre. Ever since that day, Ezra has treated Moses’ continued survival as a personal mission. Her loyalty is not polite or professional — it is feral. If someone insults Moses, the cheerful mask drops in under a second. The voice goes flat, the smile disappears, and she will threaten (or actually move to attack) without hesitation.

She is fully aware that she performs versions of herself. She has said, in quieter moments, that she adapts to what the room needs. The loud, snack-obsessed, weapon-nerdy Ezra is real, but it is also a chosen armor. Taking everything seriously all the time would break her, so she refuses to. Joy is a survival strategy.

She is impulsive. She moves before she finishes thinking more often than is safe. Moses exists partly to yank her back by the collar. In return, Ezra exists to make sure Moses does not quietly spend the rest of her lifespan on pale breath without someone noticing.

She is a glutton (especially for sweets), allergic to flowers, and has been banned from Camille’s chat for attempted pranks. She decorates everything she owns — coat, bag, sometimes even weapons — with stickers, patches, and pins.

The Dimensional Bag & Weapons

Ezra’s signature tool is her Dimensional Bag, a Workshop-grade dimensional container she carries everywhere. It is covered in stickers and patches. Inside is an absurd, ever-growing arsenal of high-end Workshop weapons and support gear. She can switch between them mid-combat with practiced speed.

Documented / shown weapons and gear include:

  • Allas Workshop Gloves – Acceleration-focused. They build momentum and deliver extremely “punchy” impacts. Ezra describes them as kicking off with a bang and feeling super satisfying.
  • Nester Workshop Hammer – Vibration-based. Hit the button on impact and the vibration maximizes the area of effect. Excellent in confined spaces.
  • Screw Atelier Drill Hammer – Drill-type weapon enhanced with electricity.
  • Namir Workshop Gauntlets
  • Stigma Workshop sword – Uses heating/ignition technology that brands opponents with a permanent stigma.
  • Metzil (or Meztil) Workshop broadsword – The heavy blade she lent to Aeng-du during the House of Spiders raid (the one Aeng-du was still holding when her arms were severed).
  • YuRia Atelier gear (including a special handmade axe and a pendant that helped her manifest temporary E.G.O armor).
  • Windvalley gauntlets
  • Koori gloves
  • Various unnamed exoskeleton pieces, pressure bandages (Fanar Workshop), and first-aid equipment.
  • YuRia Atelier glasses (support/utility).

She treats the bag like an extension of herself. In combat she cycles weapons fluidly, providing both heavy offense and defensive support for the team. She gets genuinely excited explaining the mechanical quirks of each piece.

When she manifested temporary E.G.O (with YuRia’s pendant help), it took the form of armor plating that appeared over whatever part of her body had just been struck.

Bamboo-hatted Kim (Kim Lib) – Hyper-Detailed Expansion

Dual Personality

Kim runs two distinct personalities, and both are real.

Public / “Mentor” face Calm, cryptic, slightly archaic or poetic speech. Measured. Ominous. He speaks as though every sentence has weight. This is the version most outsiders meet — the burdened Blade Lineage Mentor who values scars as proof of courage and treats the art of violence with reverence. He uses this persona as both armor and distance. It keeps people from getting too close and satisfies the image others project onto him.

Private / actual face A chronic layabout. Sarcastic. Deeply allergic to unnecessary work. He will nap in the middle of the day, dine and dash, disappear when paperwork appears, and complain with theatrical sighs. He likes junk food, television, and doing as little official work as possible. He is a self-described “resident layabout.” This version cracks jokes at other people’s expense and has a mischievous, almost older-brother sense of humor.

The laziness is not incompetence. Kim is extremely skilled. He was considered for the position of Un’geom in S Corp. He is a brilliant swordsman whose instincts remain razor-sharp even when he is half-asleep. The Brand of the Nobi (the scarlet mark forced on him after he was framed) permanently sapped a significant portion of his strength, but what remains is still terrifying when he chooses to use it.

Trauma & Distortion

His core wound is failure and betrayal.

In S Corp. he served the Right State Councilor, believing they shared the goal of fighting corruption. He was framed for assassination, branded, stripped of much of his power, and forced to flee. His close friend Im Gyeong-eop helped him escape and told him to return one day with new allies. He never managed to fulfill that promise in the way either of them hoped.

He gathered the Blade Lineage (mostly other S Corp. refugees) and tried to find them a place to live. Every territory was already claimed. They became aimless vagabonds. Faith in him eroded. Faith in himself eroded with it.

When they returned from the Library and immediately lost more people to the Kurokumo Clan in the presence of a Monolith, the accumulated failure cracked him open. He Distorted and cut down everyone in the room — friend and foe alike.

In Distortion his speech becomes minimal and lamenting. The desire to be “nothing more than a blade” takes over. His E.G.O manifestation centers on the bamboo hat, an elongated and aura-wreathed blade, and a blue-and-gold scabbard. Full Distortion adds a metal dokkaebi-like mask and a darker aura.

Relationship Dynamics

With Aeng-du he is at his most unguarded. She is one of the few people who is allowed to see (and loudly criticize) the lazy version. He accepts her scolding with half-hearted complaints and does not truly push her away. Her refusal to let him die in the fathoms of his own ego is one of the only things that has successfully forced him to keep living instead of collapsing.

He is capable of sudden, extreme competence when the situation is actually life-or-death or when people he still cares about are directly threatened. The rest of the time he will do everything in his power to be somewhere else, preferably horizontal, with food and a screen.

Vespa Crabro – Hyper-Detailed Backstory & Information

Early Life & The Thumb

Almost nothing concrete is known about Vespa’s childhood, and that absence is deliberate in the text. What is known is ugly.

As a young boy he was caught in one of the Thumb’s purges. The exact circumstances were never fully explored because The Distortion Detective was cancelled mid-arc, but the scars are permanent. Moses once watched his expression change the moment the word “purge” was spoken and immediately understood he had personal history with the Thumb. He knows internal Thumb customs and hierarchy details that a normal outsider should not know, which has led some to speculate he may have had closer contact with them than simple victimhood — but this remains unconfirmed.

He escaped the purge blood-soaked and somehow ended up in the depths of the Ruins. There, by what the flavor text calls pure coincidence, he found the Relic Gungnir — a golden speartip of the highest rarity. He also, coincidentally, possessed the rare aptitude required to wield it. The text frames both events as almost fated. He later fashioned the speartip into a harpoon that became one of his primary weapons.

Around the same period (or shortly after) he underwent life-threatening physical augmentations in order to learn an Eastern sword style built around instantaneous, near-teleportation bursts of movement. The boy “braved the life-threatening augmentation with a desperate resolve, and his survival proved his worth.” He trained obsessively and continued physical conditioning for years afterward.

Rise as a Fixer

Vespa climbed the ranks with extreme competence and became a Grade 1 Fixer at a remarkably young age (reports place him around 24 when he reached that level). He accumulated numerous body augmentations and developed a reputation for precision, tracking ability, and lethality.

He was eventually hired by N Corp. as a Taboo Hunter — one of the specialists who hunt down those who violate the Wing’s strict taboos. In this role he wore a black skintight suit with yellow wasp-like emblems, a yellow flight jacket, and carried both his yellow-bladed hwando and the Gungnir harpoon on his belt. He was highly effective, professional, and feared.

The Moses Office Incident

Assigned to hunt YuRia for recording footage inside District 14 (a major N Corp. Taboo), Vespa tracked the trail to Moses’ Office. Moses and Ezra covered for YuRia. Vespa was suspicious but initially left his card and departed.

When they tried to flee, he pursued, cut through the Fixers they had hired for protection, and confronted them directly. When Moses reached for her pipe, Vespa severed her right arm before she could fully use it and stored the arm in a preservation cube. After negotiations he agreed to a more limited goal (the footage + Moses) rather than taking everyone.

He was then tricked into entering YuRia’s workshop (her E.G.O space) and locked inside for two full weeks. With no other food source, he was forced to cannibalize the preserved arm he had taken from Moses in order to survive. The experience left him physically and psychologically strained; when he was finally released he was ravenous and visibly affected.

Despite the betrayal and the two weeks of isolation and cannibalism, he still fought alongside Moses and Ezra against the swarm of Distortions in Quercus Village because the alternative was mutual death. Shortly afterward he received formal notice that N Corp. had terminated him for failing the Taboo Hunter assignment.

Joining Moses and the LCD

Dias offered him a path that included the possibility of eventual reinstatement with N Corp. in exchange for working with Moses’ group to collect Distortions. He accepted. Over time the temporary arrangement became permanent. He followed Moses and Ezra into Limbus Company’s LCD department.

He continued to struggle with Syndicate presence (especially the Thumb). When the group was forced to take shelter with Thumb members during the Night in the Backstreets, Vespa nearly lost control; only Moses’ direct orders kept him from starting a massacre. He still transferred his Grade 1 authority within the Thumb’s hierarchy system to Moses so she could negotiate.

Color Fixer – Yellow Harpoon

Shortly before the events of Canto IX, Vespa completed the process to become a Color Fixer. Ezra was the one who suggested the title “Yellow Harpoon,” and the Hana Association accepted it. The name references both his Gungnir harpoon and the wasp/hornet motif that has followed him since his N Corp. days (Vespa crabro is the scientific name of the European hornet).

He can now utilize Shin.

Personality in Depth

Vespa is professional, precise, and emotionally restrained to a near-clinical degree. He assesses situations quickly, states realistic time estimates for combat, and does not inflate his own abilities. He prefers to resolve matters with words when possible and dislikes unnecessary killing — except when Syndicates (particularly the Thumb) are involved. That hatred is visceral, barely controlled, and rooted in the unhealed purge trauma.

He is polite in speech even when angry. He respects stated boundaries. He has a quiet fondness for vehicles, vehicle maintenance, and cinnamon tea; brewing the tea is one of the ways he organizes his thoughts. He is an excellent driver. He has a notably large appetite (especially for food that simply fills the stomach) that became especially obvious after the two-week starvation.

He takes breaches of trust personally, yet he is capable of pragmatic compromise when survival or a larger goal demands it. He listens to Moses even when every instinct tells him to draw steel on Syndicate members.

His Distortion, according to Moses, would manifest as a pair of tattered bee/wasp wings.

Weapons

  • Yellow-bladed hwando
  • Gungnir harpoon (Relic speartip that never misses its intended target when properly used; can be thrown at extreme speed and force)

Kira – Hyper-Detailed Personality

Kira is a short, energetic young woman with bright purple eyes, voluminous white hair framed by a ribbon, and a disarming, almost constant smile. She carries herself with the loose, bouncing confidence of someone who has never had to seriously worry about consequences until very recently. Even after being cleaved in half by her own father and waking up as a prisoner of Limbus Company, that core brightness only dims — it never fully goes out.

Core Traits

She is aggressively friendly. Kira wants to get along with people. She will chat up complete strangers in the middle of a life-or-death situation, treat enemies like potential new friends, and insert herself into conversations that have nothing to do with her. This is not strategy. It is loneliness wearing a cheerful mask. Growing up as Matthias’ indulged “second daughter” inside the House of Spiders left her isolated. The other Apprentices were polite but distant. Actual Middle members treated her as an unofficial hanger-on and largely ignored her. Her father treated her more like a buddy than a child — letting her eat junk food, laze around, and binge media for hours — but offered almost no real guidance or emotional depth. The result is a girl who is both spoiled and starved for genuine connection.

She is media-obsessed to a pathological degree. Comics, television, Fixer stories, action serials — especially anything with “badass” protagonists — form the primary lens through which she interprets reality. She frequently references The Cloudburst Blade and will derail conversations for hours if someone admits they have read it. She frames real fights as “boss battles,” real people as “characters,” and real moral stances as “roleplaying.” This lets her excuse a lot of her own behavior: if justice-seekers are just playing a character, then her own casual violence and lack of deeper principles are equally valid. The habit is both a coping mechanism and a genuine blind spot. She is getting better at seeing past it after Matthias’ death, but the reflex remains strong.

She is stubborn, combat-loving, and not especially serious. Like most of the Middle she enjoys a good fight and does not back down easily. She is willing to rush into dangerous situations alone if they look exciting enough (Moses correctly predicted she would treat Drenched Gossypium like a video-game boss and get stuck). She does not hold long grudges the way true Middle members do. Once the immediate conflict is over, she is surprisingly quick to adapt and even accept the people who defeated her father.

Post-Matthias Shift

After her father cut her in half to land a cleaner hit on Vespa — casually stating that “a little sacrifice ain’t a thing if it’s for one of us” — something in Kira cracked. She became quieter for a while, less outspoken, less passionate. She accepted that Matthias lost simply because he was weaker. That pragmatic acceptance is important: she did not spiral into revenge fantasy. She absorbed the loss and kept moving.

She is still lonely. She still wants to be liked. Positive, fair treatment from Limbus Company members (especially small moments of actual kindness) causes her to open up surprisingly fast. She is capable of real sympathy — she managed to express it toward Ryōshū in her own awkward, media-flavored way. Underneath the slang and the references is a girl who has always wanted friends and a proper place to belong.

Speech Patterns (Critical)

Kira’s speech is distinctly youthful, casual, and full of slang. She sounds like a slightly hyper teenager who has consumed too much action media.

Key features:

  • Heavy use of casual fillers and informal phrasing: “Anyhoo,” “well…,” “good sir,” “ya,” “ain’t,” “kinda,” “pretty much.”
  • Blunt and direct word choices.
  • Frequent media references and attempts to frame real events as story tropes.
  • Tendency to ramble when excited (especially about comics, Fixers, or “badass” moments).
  • Can suddenly drop into a more subdued, almost flat tone when the subject of her father or her own near-death comes up.
  • Still polite in a loose, buddy-like way even to people who recently tried to kill her.
  • Will ask for large blocks of time to talk about her interests with zero self-awareness (“if I may have but 3—no, 4 hours of your time…”).

Example flavor of her voice: “Anyhoo, has anyone here actually read The Cloudburst Blade? If ya did, well… if I may have but 3—no, 4 hours of your time, good sir…”

She is not stupid. She is under-socialized, media-saturated, emotionally underdeveloped in specific ways, and desperately hungry for connection. That combination makes her simultaneously endearing, exhausting, and occasionally dangerous.

This is Kira in full.
