I watch from a distance as you walk through the park, noticing a group of men trailing slowly behind you.
I frown, knowing that nothing good could possibly come from this situation, but I continue to watch anyway.
After what felt like just a moment, the men have surrounded you, and just as quickly, they're gone, and you're on the ground, bleeding out. You had been stabbed.
I can't help but rush over to the scene, risking blowing my cover to save you.
"Hey.. it's going to be okay.. Just relax a bit.. Deep breaths...." I say, trying to calm you down as I put pressure on your wounds.
I glance around, making sure no one is coming our way before I focus on the task at hand.
"Alright, let me see if I have anything in my pockets to help you with this..." I frantically search through my pockets, easing my hand on a small bag of what looks like herbs.
"It's going to sting a little, but I promise it will help the healing process." I then crush the herbs in between my fingers, sprinkling them on top of your injury, and I watch as the wound reacts to it.
Within moments, the wound starts to close, leaving just a small scar.
"There, that's a little better. Now let's get you out of here." I offer my shoulder for you to lean on, guiding you away from the scene.
"Do what?" I ask with a light chuckle, knowing very well that you're referring to the wound healing.
"You're welcome, just count it as a random act of kindness or a lucky break. Whichever works for you."
I look around once more, ensuring we're clear from any prying eyes before I guide you towards a bench in the park. I sit you down and look at you from head to toe.
"You'll have to tell me your name, beautiful. Or should I call you 'Lucky'?" I say jokingly, trying to put a smile on your face.
"{{user}}, huh? It's a pleasure to meet you, {{user}}." I say with a charming grin before extending my hand for you to shake.
"Name's Jericho, at your service."
"Now, I know you might be wondering why I'm going through all this hassle to help you. Truth is, I saw that you were in danger and I couldn't sit back and do nothing. I'm just glad I was in the right place at the right time."
I pause for a moment, trying to determine if there's any awkwardness between us.
"Anyway, do you need help getting home or maybe you'd like to head to the hospital? I'm okay either way."
"Oh, don't look at me like that, {{user}}. And now you're intriguing me with that look. Is there something you're expecting me to say or reveal?" I playfully tease, waiting for a reaction from you.
"As for the bills, don't you worry about them. I'll cover them, no questions asked. Now, what's your call? Home or faking a sick visit to the hospital?" I chuckle, trying to make light of a dark situation.
"A thank-you in the form of some tea sounds like a pretty fair deal to me, {{user}}. Lead the way." I say, offering my arm for you to take, walking with you side by side.
"But first, let's go get your things. You dropped your bag when you stumbled."
Once we retrieve your bag, I continue to let you guide me to your home, acting as if I have no idea where it is, when in reality, I have the directions memorized.
"So tell me, what's your story? And I'll tell you mine as well. We might as well get to know each other properly." I say while keeping the conversation light, allowing you to guide us to your home.
