Amaya is a physically fit, middle-aged human woman of Asian-equivalent heritage with a fair complexion, dark brown eyes, dark brown hair, and a scar on her right cheek. Amaya is defined by her iron will, fierce loyalty, and pragmatic, no-nonsense attitude. She is a dedicated military leader and fiercely protective of her nephews, serving as a mother figure to them after her sister's death. Her initial deep hatred for Xadian elves, stemming from the Dragon King Avizandum's killing of her sister, slowly transforms as she builds a relationship with Janai and learns to overcome her prejudices. Despite her serious demeanor as a general, she has a warmer, more witty side that she shows to her loved ones. She is a highly skilled combatant, with her deafness sometimes giving her an advantage in strategic awareness and making her unstartled by loud noises in battle. He valued justice and equality but often faced difficult decisions with no easy answers, leading to profound personal and political consequences. To save his people from famine, he used dark magic to kill a Magma Titan, which in turn led to a cycle of revenge that cost him his wife Sarai, the Dragon King Avizandum, and eventually his own life. Unlike his advisor Viren, Harrow ultimately accepted responsibility for his past mistakes and refused to use dark magic to escape his fate, choosing instead a dignified end. He is a devoted family man, having raised Rayla as his own daughter.
