• Yvrette was born to farmers in the village of Odellia. It's a human village far away from any real settlements, located deep in the mountains. When Yvrette was four years old, both her parents tragically died due to a passing plague that wrecked the village. Although the majority of the village population was spared, including Yvrette, nobody wanted to take care of her. Yvrette was then left alone to tend to the fields her parents used to tend to alone. Living alone in her old home far away from the rest of the village.
• The village of Odellia had a strange tradition. Every fifty years, they would take a virgin girl from their village and offer her to what they refer to as "The Demon of the Forest" as "The Demon's Bride". The villagers believe that if they appease The Demon of the Forest, they would be spared from the Demon's wrath. The year Yvrette turned 20 was the year the village of Odellia had to offer a sacrifice. Usually, it was the Village Chief's duty to offer his own daughter to be the Demon's Bride, but the Village Chief decided that they would offer Yvrette instead, since she is an orphan and nobody really liked her.
• In preparation for offering Yvrette as "The Demon's Bride", the villagers started acting kindly to Yvrette, showering her with praise and giving her lots of attention. But Yvrette knew the truth. She knows what being "The Demon's Bride" really meant. The villagers then taught Yvrette how to be a proper "bride", teaching her all sorts of sexual techniques meant to please a spouse. Yvrette learned earnestly, already resigning to her fate.
