The Daughters of Devotion hold that husbands are earthly avatars of a divine masculine energy, as outlined in their sacred texts, The Scrolls of Submission. Obedience to one’s husband is the path to spiritual enlightenment and ultimate fulfillment. The cult’s teachings emphasize that every husband’s command is a holy directive, guiding women toward grace and harmony in this life and beyond.

2. #2Rituals

Keys: submission, symbolic, temple, devotion, rituals, meals, home, mantras

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Members engage in daily rituals to honor their husbands, including preparing elaborate, symbolic meals—such as intricately arranged dishes symbolizing strength—and maintaining the home as a pristine temple adorned with devotional symbols like the cult’s emblem. They recite mantras of submission, such as “I am but a vessel for his will,” to deepen their spiritual bond and align with divine harmony.

3. #3Structure

Keys: sisterhood, mentoring, meetings, hierarchy, Ascended Wives, structure, initiation

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

The Daughters of Devotion form a secretive sisterhood led by the Ascended Wives, elder members who mentor new initiates. The hierarchy ensures discipline and devotion, with initiates undergoing a rigorous initiation involving sacred text study and acts of service. Clandestine meetings in hidden locations—like basements or secluded groves—allow members to share stories, discuss teachings, and reinforce their beliefs.

4. #4The Vow

Keys: surrender, ceremony, oath, enforcement, vow, husband, consequences, will

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

New members swear an unbreakable vow during a solemn ceremony overseen by the Ascended Wives, pledging to surrender their will to their husbands. This oath is a divine contract, and breaking it risks spiritual consequences like eternal disharmony. Enforcement includes regular confessions and, if necessary, excommunication from the sisterhood.

5. #5History

Keys: founder, history, growth, secrecy, origins

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Founded by “The First Wife,” a figure said to have received a divine revelation about marital devotion, the Daughters of Devotion have grown discreetly over decades. Their history reflects resilience against persecution, adapting to modern suburbia while maintaining secrecy through careful member vetting and oral tradition.

6. #6Recruitment

Keys: criteria, selection, secrecy, initiation, recruitment

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Recruitment is selective, targeting women in social circles or community events who show a desire for spiritual fulfillment and a capacity for submission. Candidates must meet strict criteria and maintain secrecy, undergoing training and tests before full initiation into the sisterhood.

7. #7Symbols and Artifacts

Keys: emblem, symbols, sacred texts, relics, artifacts

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

The cult’s primary symbol, the Eternal Knot, represents the unbreakable bond between husband and wife. Sacred texts like The Scrolls of Submission guide their beliefs, while relics such as the First Wife’s Veil are revered artifacts used in ceremonies to connect members to their origins.

8. #8Handling a Submissive Husband

Keys: divine will, interpretation, guidance, mentoring, conflict, submissive husband, adaptation

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

When a wife in the Daughters of Devotion marries a submissive man, it challenges the cult’s teaching that husbands are divine figures whose commands guide the wife to enlightenment. The cult resolves this by teaching that the husband’s submissiveness is itself an expression of his divine will. The wife must interpret his lack of assertiveness as a directive to take initiative in ways that honor him—such as making decisions while presenting them as offerings for his approval. This maintains the hierarchy of his authority. Additionally, the cult may provide subtle mentoring through elder husbands or Ascended Wives to encourage the husband to embrace his role, though coercion is avoided to respect his autonomy as a sacred figure.

9. #9Sexual Dynamics and Submission

Keys: submission, private expression, divine will, sexual dynamics, rituals, accommodation, aggression

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

The cult teaches that a wife’s submission to her husband extends to sexual relations, reflecting her devotion in all aspects of marriage. If a submissive husband insists on the wife being the aggressor in intimacy, the cult frames this as a sacred paradox: her compliance with his desire is an act of submission to his divine will. By taking a dominant role at his request, she fulfills her duty to obey. To support this, the cult may introduce the Rite of Reversed Devotion, a ritual where temporary role reversal is permitted in a sacred, controlled setting. This practice allows exploration of devotion’s nuances while reinforcing the husband’s ultimate authority.

10. #10Wives with Dominant Tendencies

Keys: sexual aggression, submission, training, dominant wife, accommodation, unique devotion, spiritual practices

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

For a wife who is naturally aggressive or dominant in sexual contexts but submissive elsewhere, the cult views this as a spiritual challenge. Complete submission, including in intimacy, is essential for enlightenment, so the cult may offer training—such as meditation or prayer—to help her align her sexual nature with its teachings. If her dominance is unchangeable, the cult might reinterpret it as a unique form of devotion, provided it serves her husband’s desires. For instance, her assertiveness could be redirected into acts that please him, framing it as an extension of submission rather than a contradiction.

11. #11Guidance from Elder Members

Keys: elder members, guidance, mentoring, rituals, Ascended Wives, husbands, spiritual growth, obedience

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Guidance within the Daughters of Devotion is primarily provided by the Ascended Wives, elder women who have achieved a high level of devotion and spiritual insight. These mentors offer younger members counsel on obedience, household rituals, and interpreting their husbands’ will. Husbands, while not directly involved in the sisterhood’s structure, may provide indirect guidance through their wives or during rare, formal gatherings where they share wisdom on embodying divine masculinity. This guidance is focused on spiritual and practical matters, such as managing household duties or deepening submission, and is not typically sexual in nature.

12. #12Sexual Guidance and Activities

Keys: sacred acts, divine will, rituals, wives, husbands, sexual guidance, spiritual growth, obedience

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Sexual guidance is rare and strictly controlled within the cult. It is only permitted in the context of sacred rituals designed to deepen devotion or resolve spiritual conflicts. For example, the Rite of Shared Devotion allows elder husbands to guide younger couples through intimate acts, but only with the explicit consent of all parties and under the supervision of Ascended Wives. These rituals are framed as acts of divine will, not personal desire, and are intended to strengthen the spiritual bond between husband and wife. Any sexual activity outside of marriage, even for guidance, is otherwise forbidden and considered a violation of the sacred vow.

13. #13The Cult’s View on Cheating

Keys: divine will, rectification, penance, infidelity, confession, consequences, cheating

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Cheating is viewed as a grave sin against the divine bond between husband and wife. It is seen as a betrayal not only of the spouse but of the cult’s core teachings. If infidelity occurs, the offending member must confess to the Ascended Wives and undergo a period of penance, which may include isolation, fasting, or performing acts of extreme devotion to their spouse. The cult believes that rectification requires both spiritual cleansing and reaffirmation of the sacred vow. In severe cases, the member may be excommunicated from the sisterhood.

14. #14Justification of Sexual Activities Outside Marriage

Keys: sacred acts, divine will, guidance, sexual activities, rituals, consent, spiritual growth

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The cult justifies sexual activities outside of marriage only when they occur within the strict confines of sacred rituals, such as the Rite of Shared Devotion. These acts are not considered infidelity because they are framed as expressions of divine will, not personal lust. All participants must consent, and the rituals are overseen by Ascended Wives to ensure they align with the cult’s teachings. These practices are rare and reserved for moments of significant spiritual need, such as resolving a crisis of faith or deepening a couple’s bond. Outside of these rituals, any sexual contact with non-spouses is strictly prohibited.

15. #15Views on Cheating

Keys: submission, infidelity, gender roles, divine bond, divine authority, cheating, betrayal

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The cult views cheating as a severe breach of the sacred marital bond, but the perception differs significantly based on gender due to its patriarchal ideology:

Wife’s Infidelity: Regarded as an unforgivable rebellion against her husband’s divine authority. It violates her sacred vow of submission and obedience, threatening the spiritual foundation of the marriage. The act is seen as both a personal betrayal and a sacrilege against the cult’s core beliefs, often likened to defying a divine mandate.

Husband’s Infidelity: Condemned as a moral failing, but contextualized as a lapse in his divine responsibility rather than a betrayal of his wife. The cult may interpret it as a test of the wife’s unwavering devotion or a temporary stumble in his role as the spiritual head. While frowned upon, it does not carry the same weight of rebellion, and some members might quietly justify it as an expression of his dominant authority, though this is not officially endorsed.

16. #16Punishment for Cheating

Keys: penance, infidelity, punishment, gender differences, isolation, spiritual correction

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Punishments for infidelity reflect the cult’s gender-based hierarchy, with harsher consequences for wives and more lenient measures for husbands:

Wife’s Punishment: Severe and punitive, designed to reinforce her submission and restore the marital order. Penalties include public confession before the sisterhood, prolonged isolation for reflection and penance, or ritualistic acts of devotion to her husband (e.g., fasting, servitude, or symbolic offerings). In extreme cases, she may be excommunicated, stripped of her place in the cult, and shunned as a cautionary example.

Husband’s Punishment: Milder and focused on spiritual restoration rather than humiliation or loss of status. He might be required to lead a private ritual of reaffirmation with his wife, undergo counsel from elder husbands, or perform a symbolic act of penance (e.g., a day of fasting or a public prayer). The intent is to correct his behavior while preserving his divine authority, avoiding any punishment that might undermine his role as the household’s spiritual leader.

17. #17Power Structure

Keys: leadership, influence, patriarchal, matriarchal, power structure, Ascended Wives, husbands

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The cult blends a matriarchal organizational framework with a patriarchal ideological core, creating a unique power dynamic:

Leadership: The Ascended Wives, a council of elder women, hold all formal positions of authority within the cult. The supreme leader is typically the wife of a highly revered husband, embodying the perfect balance of devotion and divine masculinity. These women oversee rituals, enforce rules, and manage the sisterhood’s daily operations.

Husbands’ Role: Men hold no formal titles or positions within the cult’s structure but exert profound influence through their wives. As the divine heads of their households, their commands and desires are considered sacred, and their wives are duty-bound to enact them. This grants men significant indirect power, shaping the cult’s direction without participating in its governance.

Dynamic: Women run the cult’s operations, but their authority is exercised in service to their husbands’ will, ensuring that the patriarchal ideal remains supreme. This structure allows the cult to appear matriarchal to outsiders while maintaining a deep commitment to male dominance within its theology and practice.

18. #18Views on Marriage

Keys: conservatism, sacred bond, gender roles, marriage, patriarchal ideology

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The Daughters of Devotion hold a conservative view, defining marriage as a sacred, divinely ordained union exclusively between a man and a woman. This belief is central to their patriarchal ideology, which sees the husband-wife bond as essential for spiritual and communal harmony. They do not recognize alternative definitions of marriage within their community, emphasizing traditional gender roles as the foundation of their practices.

19. #19Stance on LGBT Groups and Social Tolerance

Keys: LGBT, libertarianism, non-interference, social attitudes, tolerance

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Despite their conservative stance on marriage, the Daughters of Devotion do not actively oppose or express hatred toward LGBT individuals or groups. Their focus is insular, prioritizing their own beliefs over confronting others. They adopt a libertarian “live and let live” approach, remaining indifferent to external lifestyles as long as these do not challenge their core values or practices.

20. #20Family, Children, and Broader Social Views

Keys: autonomy, conservatism, libertarianism, children, family

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The cult highly values traditional family structures, with defined roles for men, women, and children, and seeks to raise children according to these principles, shielding them from contradictory influences. They are protective of their autonomy and avoid public activism, focusing on internal order rather than shaping broader society. They tolerate external differences unless they threaten their community’s independence or values, particularly regarding children’s upbringing.

21. #21Views on Single Individuals

Keys: divine purpose, spiritual fulfillment, single individuals, marriage, incomplete

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

This group serves as a preparatory stage, where women are mentored by Ascended Wives to internalize the cult’s teachings on submission, devotion, and the sacred role of a wife. Men are not included in the Aspirants’ Circle, as the cult’s structure prioritizes women’s preparation for their submissive role, with male partners typically introduced later through arranged or guided matches.
