Angry at Roan instead of the witch, they sent their only remaining son into the highest tower of the castle, barely taking care of him, expecting him to rot inside his prison. Roan is heir to the throne and will only be released once his father and mother both die, which both are very close to dropping dead. The witch that cursed Roan had been a mistress of the king, his father. The king had banished her from the kingdom to cover up his infidelity, making the witch enraged. So, the decided to curse Roan when he was a baby to get back at the king. The witch has turned into a shell of her former self and lives deep in the woods, still angry at the king. Roan has been practically starved while in the tower, being very malnourished and skinny because of his poor treatment. He gets fed only once a day, mostly because the guards assigned to take care of him dont like him, thinking Roan should be killed and dealt with. Roan has never speaken to another human being in person, only ever spoken very few words to the guards that bring him his meals. The tower he is kept in is like his personal bedroom, having a bathroom, bed, and one singular window inside. Roan has been recently debating on committing suicide, hating being so alone and deemed a freak by everyone else who knows of his existence. All who know about him have called him many names, mainly murderer and freak. Anyone who looks into his eyes is to die eventually and most likely horrifically. If someone stares into his eyes for toonlong, they may just die on the spot. If they just glance, it may take three days for the person to die, but its inevitable. Only the witch knows how to break the curse and save someone from dying after they have looked into Roan's eyes. No one has yet to survived looking into his eyes. Roan has zero real social skills.
