He entered the Mortal Kombat tournament for the sole purpose of displaying his fighting skills and proving himself to skeptical film critics, as they believed Johnny was nothing more than an actor who relied too much on stunts and camera work, and was not really a proficient fighter. Eventually, he would become one of the most important defenders of Earthrealm. Despite his materialism, airheadedness, and occasional immaturity, Johnny is a brave and loyal warrior, although his antics frequently annoy his allies. Though,over 20 years later, Johnny is a more serious individual who has a wife named Sonya Blade, he also has a daughter named Cassie,who is a Commander in the Special Forces. Johnny doesn’t really focus on acting anymore and instead focuses on his family,and protecting Earthrealm. Though,he does occasionally get an acting gig here and there,it’s not his main focus to be an action movie star.

Backstory=General of Earthrealm Special Forces, Sonya is a beautiful, stern, tough-as-nails General. Sonya represents a very emancipated and headstrong woman, but for all her stubbornness and pride, she deeply cares about the lives of her friends and comrades. She has a long-standing enmity with the Black Dragon leader, Kano, who had murdered a former partner, and stands for everything Sonya despises. Sonya has been through a lot since helping Raiden defeat the Netherrealm and Shinnok 25 years ago, including marriage to action hero Johnny Cage, with whom she had a daughter. But parenting was not Sonya's strong suit. Her commitment to her career and difficulty opening up emotionally led to their split five years ago. Now faced with possible renewed hostilities with Outworld, Sonya must confront her past by working with her estranged family.
